Britt was the best!! Prior to my visit to Brow Betty, I had had several bad and painful experiences getting a Brazilian done at other salons in Portland. I was super nervous to go back to waxing but Britt was absolutely AMAZING. She was very gentle and still extremely efficient. I called earlier today in order to find out what time would be best to walk in- as I live in Gresham, and the lady I spoke to gave me a hour and a half time frame that would work, so I showed up and they said they did not have any time and could get me in an hour and 15 minutes later. I used to go here all the time when I lived in Tigard. I always had quick walk-in service, everyone was professional and the wax jobs were fabulous. I only stopped going because we moved too far away to justify driving there for my brows. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

First Impressions are killer! Did not have the easiest time finding this place. When I called to asked where they were they directed me to the right shopping center. I asked a couple times what store they were next to and the person on the phone kept saying they were by the Jared's and Key Bank. Which in reality they were across the shopping center. Who ever picked the font for their store name did a horrible job. Walk-Ins welcome? I walked in about 10:45am, there was no one waiting in line, and there were a couple girls in the back just standing around. The front desk told me that they couldn't get me in until 11:30am. Really, are walk-ins welcomed? In addition to that I was told that because it was my first visit the appointment was going to take longer than usual because of a 'consult' time. I had been going to Brow Betty for over a year and felt extremely lucky to had Michelle without knowing her initially or know her work. I never had an issues because I would just come to bb for Michelle. The receptionist is not friendly or nice. And I have met her at MY work. But she doesn't remember that and for being there over year..,never remembered my name. I always booked my next appointment after my brow wax. So after my christmas appointment, my next appointment was set 5 weeks later. I arrived early. The receptionist was rude and again didn't recognize me as Michelle regular client. I sat and was waiting for Michelle...never being greeted. She finally said who are you here for. I said I have appointment with Michelle. She said you don't have an appointment. I said what...I've been booked for over 4 weeks. I booked it at my last appointment. She said well Michelle doesn't work here. I said what does that mean. No apology. Nothing. The receptionist never looked me in the face and tried good customer service to make the issue right. I don't know what happened to Michelle. No one could explain anything. They first blamed me and said I didn't have an appointment. Then it was Michelle didn't work there. Then it was the computers fault. I also pointed out that if Michelle didn't work there then why didn't they call me. They had more than a month to notify me of the change. Again no apology. Nothing. They continued to handle other customers without talking to me. It was like they were trying avoid me. Then the receptionist said...what are you wanting to do then? I can book you next week or the following week. I had already waited 5 weeks! I have never met the owner. I doubt she cares. As far as I'm concerned. I wasn't a Brow Betty customer. I was Michelle's. She was the only one I talked to. Besides paying the receptionist and rebooking. Michelle was the only deserved of 5 stars for quality work and service and customer care. Brow Betty never cared about me before or after. You would think they would want to properly maintain clients and even call clients to see if they want to book. Don't go here. I'm an Eyebrow Snob. There, I've admitted it. The way I see it, if your eyebrows are perfectly groomed, then all you need is a little lipstick and a touch of mascara to be perfectly soignée. When I'm in Los Angeles or New York, I go to Damone Roberts, but I've also had my brows done by Robyn Cosio, who literally wrote the book on eyebrows, and the great Anastasia "Star Plucker" Soare herself. So I know from eyebrows, is what I'm saying. When I first moved to Portland, I was nervous about finding a new waxing technician, and finally decided to try Urban Waxx because it got such good reviews. Unfortunately, I think I was given someone who was still learning the trade. She was very nice, but she wasn't thorough and the shape she gave my brows was just wrong and way too short. Oh, well. Thanks anyway, ladies, for the wine. So when I met a lovely woman with fantastic brows, I had to get the name of her waxing salon. She pointed me in the direction of Brow Betty. She recommended I see Hallie, who is fantastic. She carefully measured my brows and spent a long time coaxing them into the perfect shape, with a perfect arch, just the right length and thickness for my face. And the price was incredibly fair by fancy-shmancy LA/NY standards. Brow waxing is an art, y'all. These people are artists. read more

I am a hairdresser and super picky, and I had a wonderful experiance at Brow Betty. I had an appointment with Katie but I got Sara Bledsoe instead. I loved her! She was a skilled proffesional. She tweezed my brows and gave me a bikini wax. I wanted a wax but she questioned my strong skin care and advised tweezing. I love my brows now! I am new to the waxing world as the thought of having hair "torn" from my person seems sort of medieval torture dungeon like. Tweezed and trim is how I have lived for nearly two decades yet suddenly I decided I wanted thick brows again. I started growing them out and wanted to start their shaping. I found this place and was delighted that such a place existed so close to my work allowing me to run over during lunch! Ok, I will say DO NOT go here on a Friday or during lunch lest you find yourself without a parking space. There are a lot of awesome businesses right here so the parking lot fills up fast. All of the ladies were super nice and the doll who did my brows gave me some most welcome advice on growing them in, as well as future visits etc. They cost a touch more than most places I have seen advertised but she seemed to do a lot more and talk about fast! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE GOING TO BROW BETTY! I recently had an awful experience at Brow Betty Bridgeport. Let me start by saying that I arrived promptly to my appointment and wasn't recognized by anyone for at least 5 minutes. The receptionist was too busy on her phone and I glanced at the computer to see that her facebook was up. How unprofessional! I can guarantee her boss doesn't pay her to text and facebook her friends. That alone should get her fired. When the esthetician took me back she did a horrible job on my brows. I don't remember her name, I think terry? but she had blonde hair and was petite and short and I sat at the farthest station against the wall. She was bragging about how long she had been with the company yet for all her years of "experience", I wasn't very impressed. It was slow in the salon and I could hear all the employees talking/laughing in the other room about God knows what. I did hear a few cuss words and that followed by the receptionist turning up the music and changing the song. Not only was my waxing experience horrible but I did notice candy wrappers on the floor, the pipes were leaking water onto the ground, and when I went to the bathroom to check how bad my uneven brows were... the bathroom was disgusting! No toilet paper, dirty walls/door, the soap was low, only 2 paper towels left. Isnt this a spa, brow betty??!!!, not a gas station bathroom. After the service, I again had to deal with the bratty receptionist who didn't even ask how my experience was! All she said rudely was "that will be $20!" as if it was an inconvenience to even speak to her. I had such a bad taste in my mouth when I left almost to the point where I wanted to ask for a refund. If the owner is reading this. Can I give you some much needed advice...if you have a salon in Lake Oswego. I am pretty sure you can afford to hire a receptionist who has basic receptionist skills and possibly a great cleaning crew if your estheticians are too lazy to clean during their shifts. Maybe just a complete makeover would be necessary. I have a lot of girlfriends in the Lake Oswego/ Tualatin area and I have been forewarning them not to come to this salon. Rude and lazy employees do not deserve business. My advice to the customer is to take your well earned money and invest in a salon who cares about you and not about just making enough to get by. read more

I have been a loyal customer since they opened 5 years ago. I loved Olivia, but since she left the service has been going way down. The girls are not as helpful or warm as they used to be. I have to drive an hour to get there, but was happy to do so as a loyal customer. Due to personal things going on in my life, my life has been a little hectic lately. God forbid, I actually missed an appointment! Now they refuse to take appointments from me. Not even a same day appointment! I understand not wanting to make far out appointments, but at least let me make a same day appointment! I am not going to drive an hour to see if I can get a walk-in with you. So much for loyalty. I love Brow Betty's. I will be going in this week for my 4th appointment with Katie and my brows have never looked better. First off, the ladies here are so sweet and nice. I am always greeted very warmly when I go in. Secondly, Katie is a miracle worker on taming my brows. They have never ever looked better! They even grow out nice and shaped so all I really have to do is pick a few stray hairs in the 3 weeks I go between appointments. Love this place! Can't really comment on their other services because all I've gotten is the wax but so far thats been an absolutely fantastic experience. read more

I have now had 2 waxes and 3 plucking at BB. Very good service for the most part. Very friendly. Most of the girls do a good job, had one sorta bad experience with a new girl who plucked me uneven (I am pretty picky). I think that 25.00 is a bit expensive for a brow wax (for this area). So I don't really love being over charged by probably $10.00, but it is nice to have a reliable place to pop in for a wax or a pluck. I tip on top of this so at least 30.00 a pop, a bit pricey IMHO. So I do recommend BB, but it is expensive. I should also mention that I don't usually make an appointment but they manage to get me in anyhow. read more

I love Donovan! I have seen him now half a dozen times and everytime he makes me beastly brows so pretty, orderly, neat. It takes only 15 or 20 minutes and he waxes, trims, plucks my eyebrows. He is friendly but can sense when I'm not feeling talkative. Every time I get them done someone complements me on my eyebrows. Highly recommend! read more

After 5 years of frequenting brow Betty I thought it's time for a review. I go every month for a brow wax. My brow shaping services have been good not amazing but solid. I do have to explicitly say "please don't over wax I am trying to grow my brows out" each time to avoid thin brows but it is my responsibility to communicate what I want. I don't expect my esthetician to read my mind. Most everyone listens to this request but I have found Mercedes and Teri do the best job! You can make appointments online which makes booking services hassle free and allows you to book an appointment specifically with a particular esthetician. read more

Great, friendly staff. Super cute concept and setting. Been there about 5 times- last visit my brows ended up very uneven (arches were off, waxed WAY too far back from the center on one side- yuck) luckily I usually fill them in with brow powder anyway, but I was very upset since I've had such an awesome experience prior to- and I've looked a bit odd for the last weeks. I contribute the inconsistency to having to bounce between waxers and having to re-explain what I'm looking for, and some girls routines are not uniform. They're finally growing back in a little in the over waxed areas, I'll just have to stand my ground a bit more when I request a specific girl next time :) Halle is the most thorough, explains why her chair is always full when I call for appointments. read more

Honestly, the worst brow experience of my life. Harley waxed my brows and did not stop talking the entire time. I was laying there thinking, how can she even focus on my face if she is talking so much. Not only that, at the end of my session she says "okay don't freak out but you have some redness where I took a little of your skin off." I was shocked when I looked in the mirror. So shocked I was speechless. When I got home and looked in the mirror is when reality set in. ALL the skin between my eyebrows is gone!!! I've never had the same esthetician twice (I usually walk in and take whoever's available), and each time I'm really pleased with the results. Unbelievably awful... I just got my brows done. I asked them to just trim/clean up my eyebrows. But this lady decided she would literally trim my entire eyebrow to literally a straight line. I'm so upset and disappointed. I've been here three times. My first two experiences were eh but this is the last straw. Please do not go here. read more

I have light sparse brows and everyone that works here does such a good job matching my natural hair color as well as removing the few stray hairs. I've been using a growth serum for my brows and have finally been able to wax them, anytime I felt that my brows weren't quite the same shape I could give them a call and be seen that day or the next to have it fixed free. Went to Brow Betty yesterday for a brow wax and they look awesome! Michelle did my brows and she did a great job. My brows have never looked better! Hallie has also done my brows several times in the past and always does an amazing job. I called on my way and they let me know when they had an opening. I have walked in before without calling and sometimes there is an opening and sometimes they are busy. The nice thing is that there is a Starbucks a few stores down. So if I do have to wait for little bit, I can go have a coffee and chill for few. In terms of price. The brow wax is only $20. Keep in mind you get what you pay for. If you want the same person that does your nails to wax your brows so you can pay 10 bucks, go for it. Personally, I would rather go to someone that knows what they are doing. I would totally recommend Brow Betty. The Tualatin area really needed a place you go to get your waxing done without having to go to a spa or come out lopsided from the nail place. The staff is friendly, courteous, on time, and completely professional in their work. I would highly recommend the trip out to Bridgeport near Tualatin for this important service. She did a really beautiful job on my brows, and took into account what I wanted, while still following the guidelines of "perfect brows", which she took the time to share with me. The facility is very chi-chi, clean and spa like. Minus one star for the price - I've had great waxes and threading for less than half of this, nor was the process at Brow Betty particularly longer or more intensive than a normal brow treatment. She measured my eyebrows to determine the best shape and arch, then proceeded to wax carefully. She gave me tips on how to grow them out and fill them in with powder. Have been going semi frequently for over a year. Always see a different person for the most part. My eyebrows have a very basic shape so they're easy to maintain, but I pay to get them done due to the thick nature of them and how fast they grow back. Ive never had a bad experience here. Every time they explain everything they're about to do before they do it and always ask about skin care and all that good stuff. I have seen Elizabeth the past few times and she is crazy friendly and professional and does a great job! Go here over the nail salons- you get what you pay for. Brow Betty does a great job. read more
