I already have my go-to threading spot, so I was definitely worried trying a new spot as I needed to get my brows threaded last minute. The place is very clean and I liked that they provided hand sanitizer before starting since you're touching your face, which was nice. The girl who threaded my eyebrows, Soroor, was very sweet and made small conversation with me. She made sure to see what I wanted for my service and worked with ease. In the end, she placed lotion over the finished eyebrows and even gave me a mini brow massage --how splendid. I definitely enjoyed their service, but $10 is a bit much than my usual cost for eyebrow threading. The plus is that they accept cards here, which was convenient. read more

I waited a while to write an actual review for Brow Mantra. Here's the thing. I REALLY wanted to like them. I used to go to the one in Fullerton all the time (Sara is the best!) and loved it there. They were prompt and experienced. The Irvine location? So mediocre/inconsistent. I go only for my eyebrows. As I've said, I used to go the the Fullerton location a lot so I know what the routine is - prep, thread, help them hold, mirror, other eyebrow, mirror, trim, toner, aloe and massage. The girls at the Irvine location don't have a clue. When they first opened, they were OK. But then one girl completely butchered my eyebrows (I posted a Yelp Tip on that day - they were uneven thickness, WTF!?). Still, I went back (vowing to never see that particular girl again) and while they haven't butchered my eyebrows as badly as they did that one time, no experience has been great. They just seem inexperienced. I went yesterday and the girl who did my brows didn't do the routine correctly. Her approach had me petrified that she was going to completely butcher my eyebrows (thankfully she didn't because ultimately she didn't shape/take off very much...). And she didn't use enough aloe for the massage (she mixed the toner and the aloe on a cotton ball to apply instead of using a cotton ball for the toner and her fingers for the thicker aloe gel) so it was a dry "massage." Awkward. She also kept asking me if it was OK to do things (ex: is it OK if I use the toner/aloe?). Please. Don't ask, just do. I'm sure the good girls at the other locations don't want to waste their time at this newer Irvine location because the traffic/clientele isn't there yet. Unfortunately, that means all the inexperienced/not so good girls end up here. Because of this, they're pretty slow and seem to be having trouble building a steady clientele. I initially came here just because it was close to my work, but I'm hooked! Soroor is amazing, she does my eyebrows quickly and precisely, and of all my threading experiences over the past 6 years she has made it as painless as possible. I came to her when my eyebrows were thin and asymmetrical due to a tragic waxing accident, and she has been spectacular by threading enough to make them look clean and polished, but still letting the hair I was missing grow back in. I now have thick symmetrical brows thanks to her method! Outside of the great eyebrow service itself, all the staff members give excellent customer service. They are quick to greet you when you walk in, and are always smiling. I definitely recommend it! read more

Normally have a decent experience here, but today is the second time I've stopped by within their listed business hours and they were already closed. Their yelp and signs displayed on the door list them being open until 7 on weekdays, and twice I've gone just before 6 and they were already dark inside with nobody there. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this threading salon. However, I did appreciate the complimentary under eye masks that they provided while I received my threading services. Myself and multiple friends/coworkers have come to this location and received unsatisfactory service. They have had their eyebrows not only thinned out far more than they anticipated with just a "clean up", but also have had the shape of their eyebrows change. I have been a loyal customer for the last several months to nearly a year now. I usually come about once a month to get my brows cleaned up, and I've never had any problems (save for a few over-zealous threads that left the skin around my brows sensitive for a few days). Today I go in for my monthly clean up, and low and behold they have new stamp cards. Now I've been collecting stamps the entire time I've been here and was 1 away from my $6 off. The girl at the front told me that, unfortunately they don't take the stamp card I've been collecting on anymore. WHAT THE FUCK?! Are you kidding me? I told her I've been a loyal customer for a while, can we transfer my stamps over, as no one told me that I would need to use up my card at any certain time. NOPE. She said that she can't. I am beyond furious. She stamped a new card for me, starting one all over again. It went directly in the trash. Suffice it to say, I will not be coming back again. Beware stamp card holders, use it up before they kick your loyalty to the curb. read more

On the advice of my beautiful Indian co-worker I've been going here for about a year now. I have a great experience every single time. It's fast, efficient, inexpensive and everyone is super polite and accommodating. I'll never wax my brows/lips again. If you haven't tried threading, you should! I've never made an appointment, but noticed it does get busy around lunch time and there 3-5 people waiting. I arrive at 11:30am and the wait started around 11:45am. I had never been here before and just moved to the area so I was nervous going in. Brows are a big deal and can change your whole face if messed up. Ria did my threading and she was great! She offered me hand sanitizer and during the process a tissue because my eyes get watery. She checked with me throughout the process if I liked what she was doing and where she was going. I was in desperate need for an underarm wax and eyebrow threading since the place I normally go to was too far, and I was pressed for time. When I saw the prices for their services, I was amazed, since in Irvine everything is hiked up a few dollars. It was only $10 for underarm wax and $10 for eyebrow threading! The service was fast and easy, and the lady was super sweet, making sure I was happy with her work, which I was! They also offer lotion or antiseptic for the after burn for eyebrows, and I choose the lotion since they give a mini 10 second massage :-p. Not many places offer that! read more

I come here frequently as it is close to my work. I never make an appointment and as long as I don't go in during lunch or around 5pm I get in the chair very quickly. I've only had one semi-bad experience where a lady took too much hair off my arch. I should have waited for the lady I normally go to, but she was with another client and my impatience got the best of me. I will keep coming back though as I love the way my brows look and they do a fantastic brow massage after each threading session that helps tremendously with the redness I experience. read more

This one star is only because the lady that threaded my eyebrows was very sweet and kind. Her work was undoubtedly awful. It looked like I plucked it myself, and I do a horrible job as it is. I paid 10 for it. She showed me the mirror after she was done, and I told her to make it look cleaner. She cleaned it up like how i would clean mine up. I looked at it again and I told her to trim the hair on the end because it still doesn't look clean. So she did. The results were discouraging. My brows had no shape. I was done. I had accepted my fate. I am never coming back here again. I don't know how they can find that work acceptable. It's unprofessional, amateur and dissappointing. Been going to Brow Mantra since they opened and I love getting my brows done by Dimple! She's the first chair on the right when you walk in the door. They're rarely busy so I'm seated fairly quickly and outta there in 7-10 minutes. This is located in a shopping center on Irvine Center Dr., surrounded by several office parks so there is a slight fight for parking if you come here during weekday lunch hours, but otherwise parking is a breeze. This place is ok to the best. It's good for last minute touch ups but if you go during rush time then you might feel rushed out yourself. The lady behind the counter kept telling the threading artists to hurry up and that there were people waiting for them. Not the greatest feeling when you have to pay full price.
