Only thing that made it worse today is that the employee approached me, without her mask on to tell me she had 3 customers in front of me. I used to come here to clean up my eyebrows for years. Due to covid, I haven't been for a while. Yesterday I came back for the 1st time. I don't know if they changed the stuff or something. Even though the girl who did my eyebrows was super friendly, I was very disappointed how my eye brows came out. I asked for a simple clean up but it turned out my eyebrows got chopped off 50% thinner than before. I noticed many customers had the same compliant recently. If you come here, just make sure you check your eyebrows often while they are threading so that you can stop the damage before it's too late. read more

Gayatri is amazing. I've been going here for a few months now. I used to get my eyebrows waxed and have been a firm believer of threading for years now! I moved to Irvine recently, so I decided to try out this place. It is clean and has an assortment of magazines to read, while you wait. Good news: I have never waited more than 5 minutes to see Gayatri! There is plenty of parking spots. The pricing is reasonable (for OC status, I guess). I always get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded every 2-4 weeks, depending on if my boyfriend is coming into town/how hairy my eyebrows are getting! Gayatri is efficient and is helping my eyebrows become even. She never chops off the eyebrows tips and makes them look so lovely. Before she starts, she puts these under eye masks on you. I wanted to find somewhere new in Irvine to get my eyebrows threaded. I decided to check this place out because it's close to where I live. It had decent yelp reviews and I never really had bad experiences at threading places before, so why not? I was wrong. A young man threaded my brows but it's like he barely even touched them. Usually I leave feeling good about myself because my eyebrows look nice and clean. This time, I had to go home and fix them because there were so many missed spots and frankly it was like I never even went to get them done in the first place. Really disappointed in this place. They didn't honor the discount stamp card...they said it expired February 2016. I said that I've been using it this whole time but instead of honoring it, they issued me a new one with just one stamp and no discount. First of all, I didn't move here until August 2016, second, why are you giving punch cards that expired, third, this is my second punch card with them which means they've been giving away old ones and no one said anything the whole time I was collecting stamps. That's real convenient that after I spent ALL that money to get to the $4.00 off stamp that they won't honor it anymore when THEY were the ones who gave me the stamp card LAST YEAR in 2017. Will no longer go here. Liked that it was conveniently close to my work but the prices have gone up so it's not worth it anymore, especially since they clearly don't value repeat customers. read more

Believe the bad reviews, this place is HORRIBLE. Must be an Irvine thing to upcharge because of how expensive it is to be there but give underwhelming service or product. This place is expensive for threading, but worse, it is painful. It will rip open your skin from how rough they are when threading. The women here have no idea how to thread. I always come here for eyebrow threading when I don't have time to go back to my usual place in LA and although it's a little more costly, I have never left disappointed. I love that whoever works on me always sanitizes her hands and has me sanitize mine. I have always been regular customer to brow mantra from past 4 years and stopped going due to pandemic from last year. This is the first time I went after pandemic, but the service is terrible. All the old staff left. I told the lady ( her name is haboob) multiple times I want just clean up of the eyebrows but she chopped of my eye brows 50 percent thinner and this completely changed how my face looks now :( and she is arguing that she just cleaned the extras! Having been a long term client of Brow Mantra in Irvine for many years, it ended today. After waiting for nearly 45 minutes, the client before me was having her top lip threaded. After hearing her sneeze twice, I stood up and watched her sneeze two more times into her hand. While I am not a germophobe, I left immediately. Nail and hair salons must remain closed, so why would they allow lip (mustache) waxing and why didn't the employee shut the client down after the first sneeze? One star off for when I entered I just sat down on their comfy couches and just assumed there would be honor system of who came first. A woman came after me and signed in at the front and I was like oh wait, we are supposed to sign in?! Luckily she was nice enough to let me sign in before her. But there were two girls there when I sat down and neither of them told me I should sign in?!? Wtf!! There should be a sign that says, "please sign in here." Neha did my right eyebrow first, then offered me the mirror to make sure I was satisfied before starting on the left one. .. I currently have a very sensitive blemish on my lip area under my nose, & she was very careful to work around it while threading my upper lip. .. She massaged some aloe gel into my eyebrows & lips to sooth the irritation afterwards. .. It was very efficient & relatively painless overall. cOns.. .. I paid $15 for both eyebrows/lips. I've been coming here for five years -- since they first opened. It's one of two threading places that I regularly visit. On Friday, September 15, I stopped by for the last time because they messed up on my eyebrows and still made me pay for it. When they charged me for their bad job, I ripped up my stamp card in half, left the two pieces that remained on the counter and told them they just lost a long-time customer. In addition, I asked the manager to have the owner contact me. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand that mistakes happen. Sometimes we have off days and don't do a good job. That's okay. I make mistakes, too. If you do a really bad job on someone's eyebrows, you don't charge them. It's just good customer service. The reason why I don't want to come here anymore isn't because they made a mistake. The reason is because they insisted on charging me after acknowledging that they made a mistake. In principle, I just think this is unethical. It was also incredibly rude when the manager and the two girls who messed up my eyebrows were talking about it in a language that I don't understand. I felt like they were talking about me. I gave them the opportunity to fix it, but they still charged me anyway. I don't support businesses with bad customer service. There are plenty of threading places that are more than willing to accommodate me. Be advised that this incident initially occurred on September 15 and I left a message for the owner to make it right. The deadline was September 18. After careful reflection, I decided to give them another week. At the time of this writing, I still haven't received a call, so I decided to post the review. Let this be a message to business owners. As someone with senstivie skin, I was impressed how quickly the redness went away in a fraction of the time (vs. wax). I came in to do my eyebrows at 6:44pm due to working late and the lady said they stop accepting clients at 6:45pm. I told her they close at 7p and that it was 6:44pm. She ended up saying yes but was complaining about it the entire time. Your closing hour should be 6:45pm instead of 7pm to not set false expectations for customers. read more

I've been coming here on off for three years and it's a hit or miss. I had my eyebrows threaded about a year ago here and she took off half of my left eyebrow. I finally decidied to go back in after almost a year (it took this long for them to grow back fully and get over my ptsd of them ruining my eyebrows again) and my eyebrows are so thin. I had pretty thick eyebrows and I have no idea how "just clean them up" was misinterpreted to "take off all my hairs and shape them." I am so upset and I will not be coming back. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years and this was one of my worst experiences. First of all, I left with the skin around my eyebrows SWOLLEN and painful for hours. I'm not talking about the normal redness that always happens, but my eyelids were actually puffy and red even to the next day. If it was just that I wouldn't have been that bad. She made my eyebrows a horrible shape and uneven. I asked her to fix and she told me she basically couldn't do anything or they'd be too thin. She tried after I insisted I didn't like the shape by taking off a few hairs and it barely made a difference. If they were at least the same shape maybe it would have been better. There was clearly nothing she could do without totally thinning my eyebrows out to a line so I gave in and left. read more

I've been here twice and I've hated how my eyebrows turned out both times. I thought maybe the first time was just a fluke... so I came back. I've had different people work on my eyebrows. Not only do they not do a thorough job... they make your eyebrows uneven. They didn't clean up my eyebrows well and left random strands of hair. I guess I'll stick to Soni when I'm in the area. I have been going to NISHA for nearly 6 years, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE her. She does such a good job shaping my brows that I almost don't trust myself to pluck at all anymore. I get my entire face threaded every time, we joke and say that I'm a hairy beast which sadly is more true than not. I've always hated my sideburns and baby hair above my forehead, Nisha takes care of all of that. Nisha has such gentle touch that I sometimes joke that it's almost relaxing and to wake me up if I fall asleep. Keep in mind that I've been getting threaded for the better part of a decade so I'm used to it. If you're on the fence about who to book an appointment with, I'm telling you NISHA IS THE BEST!!! Threading is part of my beauty regimen and will remain so for the rest of my life, try it out you'll love it. After I get threaded my skin looks so much softer and I feel much more confident. She took a lot longer for do my eyebrows than it normally does. She kept asking if I was ok which was nice of her but nevertheless it was extremely painful than ever and I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 15 years!!!! I've gone here a couple times since I go to school near this area and I've been pretty satisfied. I normally wait until I go back home to get my eyebrows done, but after reading reviews from this place, I decided I would give it a try here. I asked the lady to do exactly what I wanted her to do and she did it. I came in for a simple clean up and to fix the shape of my eyebrows and she did an amazing job. The friendliness of the staff is amazing as well. First time here and I don't think I'll be coming back. This place is much pricier compared to others. I usually get my upper lips and eyebrows done for half the price I paid here. Wow. It's close to my house and my aunt told me about it so I went to check it out but this is really out of my budget. It's pricey. However, my brow lady was really kind! She made small talk but what I didn't like was I went in for a clean up and told her to keep the shape same. I kept repeating it even after and showed her what shape I wanted before hand. But, I saw after that she changed my brow shape and now it doesn't really flatter my face. I just think I'll be looking for a cheaper and better place after this. read more
