We were driving through BV and stopped by for what we hoped would be a quick grab-and-go breakfast, but our timing was unlucky and there was a small line when we arrived. We ended up waiting about 40 min for 2 coffees and 2 burritos. That could've been a fluke, so I won't harp on it too long, but it did dampen our experience. The coffee was sweeter and milkier than we would've liked and the burritos were rather bland. The burrito sounded promising with chorizo, eggs, green chile, and hash browns, but it ended up being a mushy blend of all of them with none of the great distinctive textures or flavors you would expect (especially from the chorizo and hash browns). Neither were truly bad, but they ended up being just sustenance rather than a breakfast we really enjoyed. They do have a diverse menu though! And the baked goods looked great, so I wouldn't write it off completely. read more

This is my absolute favorite stop on a trip to or through Buena Vista! The staff is always incredibly kind and hardworking, even though it's always so busy! We have been going here for years . But today was a real low. The coffee and chi were good. But the food my wife was eating had a big string of hair in it. And it was not even what she had ask for. When she took it back they did not say oh sorry or anything other then do you want something else? When they brought some pie she requested they just came over and said here you go , Not sorry can we do something to make up for this. Yea do a better job with hygiene and taken proper baking precautions. Customer service in small towns matter for it is the tourists or out of town guess that support the economy. I not there to kiss your ass! I don't expect you to kiss mine! But be mindful of your service. As for cleanliness it is average as any coffee shop in Denver. read more

Waiting 30 minutes for a latte to go is insane. If your staff can't keep up with the traffic then hire more people and get another machine. Or train your staff to tell people up front that the wait for a coffee is 30 minutes; had I known, I would've gone elsewhere. Plus, the latte itself was gross, and I ended up dumping it. What an absolute waste of time and money. I should've gotten gas station coffee. This place is actually pretty dope. Real chill. Do I like Buena Vista? Not so much. Do I like this spot? Absolutely! The ladies at the register are super sweet and patient while I tried to figure out what I wanted. I'm a tea girl so trying the different varieties was awesome. They have a great selection. The girls and I absolutely adored this coffee shop. We stopped in after a fun girls weekend in Buena Vista for a breakfast before we hit the road. Admittedly the name drew us in pretty quickly. The aroma of coffee hits you when you open the door. Absolutely inviting! Then you see a baked goods display and if you were unsure if you wanted anything, you now know for sure you do. Behind you in line there is a wall of coffee and mercy to chose from. It's all adorable and I for sure would have bought more if I didn't have what little self control I do have lol! I ordered the quiche Lorraine and it was so decadent and the flavors were all perfectly balanced. To pair with it I got the cafe latte. That drink was so smooth, I usually need sugar and lots of it. I had gotten the Vietnamese coffee and a blueberry muffin and my goodness was it delicious. You could tell that the ingredients were fresh. This is road trip coffee at its finest. After a few hours on the road, our car full of under-caffeinated travelers was revived back to normalcy at Buena Vista's Brown Dog Coffee. Currently, they are repping a "Yes, We Are Open" sign which is visible from the road. What I didn't expect when I walked in was to be hit instantaneously with the overwhelming smell of freshly roasted coffee beans. Oh man, it was glorious! I miss seeing the roaster inside of coffee shops. It's always a treat when a coffee shop goes the extra mile. Now even though I knew what I wanted, especially since we were about to drive through Cottonwood Pass, they have a gazillion options for you. Hot and cold coffee beverages of many varieties, quiches, soups, pastries, etc. It's a cozy shop with character and branded goodies to boot. Cold Brew was great and the bathrooms were clean. Can a fella really ask for more in 2020? I'm not sure. Brown Dog might be one of the few coffee shops in town, but they do a very fine job serving the community! read more

Pulled off the road last minute when we saw the sign for coffee - pleasantly surprised with the food options! Went with the chicken tamale smothered in the cheese and relleno. Honestly didn't see any cheese or taste any but they put a generous amount of the sauce. It has some SPICE but is very flavorful. One single one if more of a snack but average tamale size. Iced vanilla coffee with CBD was light and refreshing. Vanilla tasted great, not artificial tasting. Would highly recommend! Kind staff and quick services. I went for the first time at 8:40 am on a Sunday morning. Line almost out the door. Started to get frustrated because I saw at least 3 employees but line not moving. After waiting over 20 minutes I ordered a raspberry muffin, cinnamon bun and medium medium roast coffee. The handed me the bakery items and told me they ran out of coffee. A regular stop when I visit Buena Vista to go to Mt Princeton Hot Springs. Coffee is always top notch and food has been great as well. I've had the veg quiche, breakfast burrito and sweets always very good. I only wish they had veg version green chili. Seating is not extensive inside, some outside spots as well.
