It was very obvious this was a local hangout for breakfast after a short time there. It was as a vet quaint setting from the decorations to the very friendly server. We both had the early bird special, 2eggs, choice of bread and protein and your drink. The food was great, just the perfect amount of food to hold one over for a morning of paddling. Really a great place.

The Chile rellenos were like some terrible version you find in terrible food places like eastern Oklahoma. The star of the relleno should be the chile, not the breading. It was almost all this way overdone breading. Not good at all. The "green chili" was as spicy as milk and equally as flavorful. My brother said the breakfast burrito was terrible. I saw it, and it did not look appetizing. Some of the "green chili" drizzled on top like an afterthought. Dry and uninspired. My son enjoyed his simple plate of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast, but those who ordered the Mexican food inspired dishes were majorly disappointed. As far as service, we waited forever to order. Our drinks were constantly empty. The server was very polite but things like missing items, missing silverware, empty coffees and waters starts to add up to a negative experience. Nice views outside and the place is clean so atmosphere is fine, but the rest was severely lacking.

There is almost always a line snaking through the shop to place your order, but the staff is genuinely hustling hard to move people along. Once you get through the queue, you grab your drink and wait for them to call your name from the kitchen. It is a familiar routine for a reliable morning fuel up. Truth be told, this particular visit turned into a bit of a comedy of errors. I ordered a Cool River Burrito with chorizo, but the kitchen lost the ticket entirely. When they finally sorted that out, they failed to pack it to go as requested, so it ended up being a bit of a messy situation overall. To add to the frustration, the outdoor tables were pretty neglected. None of them had been wiped down or cleared, and unfortunately they were the only spots available to sit. Honestly, the food itself usually redeems the bumps in the road. When the burrito did show up, it was tasty and plenty big enough to satisfy a massive appetite, packed full of hearty ingredients and that chorizo punch. The interior space is definitely on the cramped side, but it manages to feel cute and features a nice modern vibe. Despite the logistical hiccups, the crew working the counter is incredibly kind and busting their humps to keep up with the rush. It remains a great, dependable spot to grab breakfast and a solid coffee drink when you are in town.

Pulled into the parking lot and electric vehicle chargers were like towers of hope for the power-deprived traveler. The menu looked limited. Was there for lunch. Breakfast menu looks extensive and good. Ordered a burger and turkey club and iced tea. Overall it's great. There were so many people with dogs or multiple dogs that sitting peacefully in the exterior seating area wasn't that peaceful as bickering alpha dogs tried to act dominant by whelping and arguing with each other. Wasn't a fan of the barking and screeching and loudness that lasted the entirety of the meal while observing the dog owners either oblivious to the mayhem or ignoring it while swiping on their janky iPhones. I won't dock points in this review due to the dog drama. It is what it is. Salida is a wicked dog-friendly town. I will return for breakfast. You should also. You'll be glad you did.
