I would like to express our sincere thanks to Brown Tree Service for an outstanding job. Our Association has worked with various arborists and landscape contractors in the past 10 years and we have not been satisfied. We were planning to have some trees planted in 2017 but we could not find a contractor that we were happy with. We were resolved to put off our planting until 2018. We happened to see Brown Tree Service planting some beautiful evergreens in a neighboring subdivision in the fall. We gave Brown Tree Service a call and Ken came out to discuss plant types and pricing. Ken was wonderful to deal with. He is very personable and has a vast knowledge of his industry. His vision for setting up "landscape scenes" is remarkable. Ken is a down to earth guy and wants to do what is right for the customer. We discussed plant types and locations, tree removals and we were happy with what Ken was proposing. Later that afternoon we received a very colorful and professional proposal, along with a Certificate of Insurance via email. We approved the proposal and sent it back. Utility locations were performed and within three days the crew was here in the early morning removing trees. Later that day the truck arrived from the nursery with plants that we though could not possibly be ours. We knew the size of the trees that we purchased but these were beyond our expectations. The crew was very polite and professional. The equipment they brought with, were some amazing pieces of machinery. Ken was also on site for a good part of the day. We were so pleased by Ken's operation that we asked for a tree pruning proposal for the whole subdivision. Ken walked the property with us and we had a proposal the next day. A four man crew was here in January for two days with a vast array of equipment. Again, the crew was very polite and professional and their cleanup was outstanding. The trees look great and we can't wait until spring to see them leaf out. (Note, we normally pruned 1/3 of our trees each year and never noticed any difference. Now we will pruning on a 3 year cycle with a 1/3 cost savings) We are already planning to meet with Ken later in the year to go over our 2018 tree replacement schedule. My experience with Brown Tree Service has been great. Their team was quick to respond to my request for quote. Their Arborist, Martin LaBahn, was at our house within a few of days of our request and provided a thorough evaluation of our tree problem and provided the necessary solution and quote. He took the time to explain our options and answered all of our questions. Unfortunately this meant two very large Ash trees had to be removed. We were very concerned due to their size but the Brown team removed them with care and precision. The crew arrived on time, was polite, professional and wasted no time in getting to work. We have used Brown Tree Service for many years & have always been very pleased with their work. Marty has always been the arborist that comes out each time to give us quote. He knows our 30+ year old skyline locust & always provides me with additional tips for keeping this tree healthy. Within a day of meeting with Marty I was emailed a detailed contract for the work to be completed as well as the price he quoted me. At the time of receiving Marty's quote he told me it would be about 3 weeks until they could get out to trim our tree. That wasn't a problem because we just wanted the tree trimmed before winter. Actually the three week wait was perfect because the wind blew most of the leaves off the locust & the branches needing to be trimmed & removed were much easier to see. I had a large tree fall on my house during a recent storm and we called a few different companies to help us through this trying moment. One of those companies was Brown Tree Service a company one of my neighbors referred to us. Brown gave us a fair price and emailed us a formal proposal along with proof of insurance within an hour both my wife and I were very impressed with the Arborist Martin who came out and we decided to hire Brown Tree Service for the job. They came out the next day and took extra care removing the tree so there was no additional damage to the house or plants underneath not to mention they had the best state of the art equipment for the job. They then called JULIE and returned to grind the stump a few days later. When they finished you could never tell there was a large tree there. Martin even made suggestions on a possible replacement tree for the upcoming spring. We called three tree services for estimates to do both trimming and tree removal. Two came asked what I wanted done, and gave estimates. When Ken Brown came he asked the same questions, but with a difference. As an arborist he knew what the various trees and bushes were (we had mistakenly thought one of the trees was a Honey Locust, but it was a Black Locust). Not only did he review the scope of the work, but pointed out the best method for trimming to sustain long term growth, gave advice on the trees and their placement and overall was a wealth of knowledge. He was not the cheapest bid, but it was apparent he knew what he was doing and had the expertise to do it. The crew of four did the work efficiently, and we were pleased with their professionalism and final result. Clean up was perfect, even though the work was extensive (three large trees to be taken down, plus numerous trimming of trees and shrubs). Had a huge branch come down and end up sitting on our power wire after a wind storm. While waiting for ComEd to get out and remove the branch we called Brown to come out and assess the tree and the damage to the tree. Ken came out in a prompt manner, made the recommendation to take the whole tree down and did it in a matter of two days. And at a very reasonable price. The crew that took down the tree left no damage to the lawn or debris from their work. They also trimmed another tree on our lot and took down a tall lodgepole pine. We were and are very impressed with the quality of work, the speed in which it was done and most importantly the price at which the work was done. I gave them a call about 6 months later and after a quick phone call two days later I received a call from Kenneth Brown asking if he could take a look at my yard and give me an estimate. Best tree service I could've ever found! I saw them cut someone's "mega tree" in the neighborhood a year ago and glad I noted their name. Upon calling them, the owner came out promptly and in detail discussed what he would recommend regarding the two huge trees in my mother's backyard. The crew came out with two large trucks and definitely knew what they were doing! It was like a miracle watching the transformation of these trees. There were huge branches hovering over the roof and the yard and when in full season they would cast too much shade upon the small back yard. Now thanks to Brown Tree Service we will have plenty of sunlight there so that the grass can grow again. I had some issues with some old trees over the winter. I used Brown Tree Service last year and decided to call them again. The Chinese Elms were in poor condition, plus I had an evasive Buckthorn that need to be removed. Ken's crew came out and did a great job. Before they left I looked at the condition of some remaining Elms and Called Ken immediately. he came out quickly and we discussed what should be done. My wife and I listened to his suggestion and decided to take out 2 more trees and replace them with some new trees. We had Brown Tree Service out last spring to remove two trees, and we were so satisfied we called them again this year to prune the birch tree in our front yard. The crew did a thorough pruning job, taking out all the dead wood as well as trimming branches that were overhanging the roof. They also did a fantastic clean up job, removing all the branches and debris left from the trimming. Each of the times I called Brown's Tree Service, Martin came out the same day to give me an estimate of the costs. Martin is personable and very easy to talk to. He answered all my questions, and gave me information about products to use to protect the trees from insect damage. I called Ken, he came out the same day and had an emergency crew come out the next day, they trimmed all the trees we contracted for, in addition to removing the damaged limb, there was a highly skilled 4 man crew that was outstanding. We have used Brown Tree service in the past to 'trim' the large honey locust in our backyard. Marty, the arborist, always comes out to look at the tree, give a quote & share any other information that we need to know to keep our locust healthy. We received the quote for the trimming & copy of insurance before any work began. Brown called to let me know that they would be out the next week. On the day of the tree trimming I received a call before the workers arrived. As always they completed the trimming, cleaned up everything & our locust looks beautiful & ready to provide us with shade for many years to come. So I called again for another service. Between the weather and other factors my job slipped thru the cracks and three months went by, still no pruning. My patience ran out. The removal of ten mature trees from our property was handled safely, in a single day. The 4-man crew arrived on time, as scheduled, and by the end of the day, no trace remained of the trees or their ground stumps. A light pole pruning, done by willing workers with a bit of time left before day's end, enhanced the appearance of three big Lindens in the work area. As a Condo Association, we must mention their rock-solid insurance and lowest possible price for this big project. Now that the site is open, it allows us to see the potential of our property for future planting. Brown' Tree service did a wonderful job in both assessing and trimming our huge mature Elm tree in our back yard. The big Elm sits on our property line with our neighbors and it is between two garages. After assessing the health of the tree we received the good news that it did NOT need to come down and only required a trim in December after the first hard freeze. They were out yesterday and they left virtually no trace that they had been there. There wasn't even any sawdust on either garage roof! The price was fair and they saved our tree that we were worried may have to be removed. I was pleased with Brown's Tree Service - they came out quickly to review the situation and provide a quote. Martin was very knowledgeable about the various trees needing attention. The cabling required was a bit more expensive than I preferred, but I understand why it's necessary. There was a bit of a delay getting a call back to schedule the service, but that can be attributed to the many trees that need attention after recent storms. When the team came, they were very clear on what they were to do, and respectful of my other plants, and the neighbor's landscape. This is a first rate company. We needed to have a dying pine tree removed from our lot. After doing some research, we found several highly recommended companies, all of whom I called. Based on Price, Reviews and recommendation from "Best Pick Requests", I chose this company. The estimate happened within 12 hours of my request. It took several weeks before the work could be scheduled (mainly due to Jan/Feb weather), but once it was scheduled the crew was prompt and efficient. I needed to have a very large tree removed from back yard as well as trimming/pruning of 3 other trees. Martin (arborist) came out and gave me some recommendations as well as a quote, and two weeks later the work was done. (Martin knows more about trees than anyone I've ever met!) The workers were great - very careful of my property and took care not to harm grass or deck. The clean up was excellent. Also, I live on a cul-de-sac, and they were respectful of my neighbors, allowing full access to driveways and asking before accessing their property when necessary.
