I ordered my usual 6 pieces of dark meat chicken, 1 pound of shrimp, and large side orders of Mac N Cheese, Fiesta Corn, and Green Beans, plus a large Mountain Dew! The 2 gentlemen who made my order did so in a smooth and efficient manner! I had no problem waiting for them to do so in their clean, brightly lit and festively painted restaurant! I then enjoyed my hot, fresh, DELICIOUS meal inside the comfort of my big old Lexus truck, in the lot outside the restaurant, while watching my favorite shows on HBO Max!! I am never going back. I have been a customer of browns chicken for 40 years+. Undercooked food, mush breading, chewy meat. Was charged for what I thought was a 8 piece mixed dinner. I got all dark meat. Mashed potatoes were also mush. The kid that worked there could care less. This is not the way to run your business. I hope you learn about how you are treating your customers. Ordered the buy one get one free 1 thigh and 2legs with Mac and uber eats delivered the food in a unsealed plastic bag the chicken was raw on the inside Mac and cheese was chewy with like squeezed cheese put on top of it I called the store and told them my food was raw they said they would send me some freshly cooked chicken and they will pick up the raw chicken after a hour in a haft I called back and now they tell me there's no one that could bring me freshly cooked chicken and pick up the raw chicken so I requested a refund and the cashier said they will issue a refund and I should throw the raw chicken in the trash refund still hasn't been issued after 3 days and the manager keep on Lieing over and over don't eat at this place terrible management read more

In response to the last review posted by a customer about dried out chicken I do agree and have had the same experience. There is a way to guarantee getting chicken that has just been cooked and is always delicious. That is to go right at opening at 11A.M. That is what I now do and it has never failed. One should not have to go to these extremes to get good, fresh out of the fryer chicken, but it does work. This is also what I have to do at KFC and Popeyes or else you do risk getting chicken that has been sitting and may even be dried out. read more

We visit this Brown's every so often for carry-out and it always serves great chicken and sides. No complaints from us - food is fast and fresh and they provide plenty of coupons to save a few bucks. The key to Brown's had always been hot and juicy chicken. Now it's hit or miss. New owner, but higher prices and my most recent order was dried out chicken. I was craving fried chicken this past week and greatly missing this Brown's location's excellent food! Although I placed a take out order, I decided to dine inside, since I hadn't eaten all day and was ravenously hungry! SO VERY GLAD I came back! I ordered 4 pieces of dark meat chicken, 1/2 pound of shrimp, sides of green beans and mac n' cheese, and 2 bottles of Brisk Iced Tea! Service was great: My whole order was cooked and prepared very quickly and accurately-- and of course, everything tasted amazingly hot, fresh and heartwarmingly DELICIOUS!!! I sat at my favorite table, which was next to the huge front window (and was good for people watching and keeping an eye on my truck)! This past evening's dining experience was very relaxing, thanks to the great food and the great 70s classic rock tunes playing overhead and also because the restaurant itself is meticulously clean! Was in Arlington Heights last week and came across a Browns chicken as part of an older strip mall. We ordered the Farmer Browns favorite plus a 1/2 lb of Livers and 1/2 lb of Mushrooms. I was raised on Browns Chicken and Church's Chicken the Former are getting harder and harder to find and the Latter even more so. The Chicken was good the Sides were good and the Livers were Great a little Louisiana on them was all I needed. $55 for a take out fried chicken meal seems a little expensive but for what I experienced it was well worth it. read more

I came here because I had a coupon. The coupon allowed a 16pc chicken meal with 2 coleslaws and 8 biscuits. When I asked if I could substitute a coleslaw for a corn, I was told no because the coupon deal was very strict. I then insisted that I didn't like coleslaw, preferred corn and exclaimed that there shouldn't be a huge cost difference between the two. The worker then told me that he didn't like my coupon in retaliation for me not liking coleslaw. I decided to give this place a chance and ordered anyway. People who grew up around Chicago know that Brown's is way better than KFC. You can't go wrong with the fried chicken combos. My favorite sides are the biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy and the fries but the rest of my family always gets the fried mushrooms too. One of the things I love about Brown's is you can get whole wings and their hot sauce is legit. Not a lot of places in the north suburbs you can get that. The fried chicken sandwich is a classic too, but sadly they still refuse to make a spicy version. read more

This is probably my favorite chicken place. This should have been a really big franchise but unfortunately it wasn't. This place has some of the best sides you can get. To me KFC can't compare because Brown's Chicken just seems fresher. From their mashed potatoes & gravy, to the macaroni & cheese it is delicious. I read the other reviews & while I have never had a bad experience with my food I can understand what people say about the service. The service here is not bad & they have never been rude to me, they just aren't as warm, friendly & welcoming as you would like. The prices here are also pretty high but the food is good. With all that said, this is a really good place for some take out food or even catering. From the awesome chicken to the even better sides this place is a favorite. One of the best Brown's of the bunch. Worth the drive. The chicken is perfectly cooked and the pieces are huge (so much bigger than Popeyes). Even the sides are bigger. Not a huge fan of the bread or the onion rings, but if you are looking for great and fast chicken this is the place. First and last time eating here. They only had 2 people working. It took over 20 minutes (shame on me for waiting) to order the food. Then another 10+ minutes to get the food. So much up-charges it's unreal. There was a long hair in my food that resembled the girl that was working hair. (Gross) Her hair wasn't pulled up. Food service workers should wear their hair up or so I thought. When I was waiting I sat at a table and my white shirt got a stain on the back from the chair. Just overall bad. After applying our Jewel bought fake nails, and donning our airbrushed tees (purchased at the Puerto Rican fest), we forced my pal's husband to take us to this slightly unkempt Brown's and proceeded to embarrass the shit out of him while we tapped our plastic claws on things and debated what to eat. I grew up eating Brown's after my mother decided she'd OD'd on KFC, and I have a special place in my heart for their fried mushrooms. The chicken is better than KFC and the pasta and other goodies are pretty solid. A mess of chicken and sides was perfect snacking for our movie night and goes perfectly with a 40. Ok this browns just gave me a OMG moment. Let me start by saying I generally don't like Gizzards. The gizzards here are OFF THE CHAIN. Today was the second time I had their gizzards based on positive feedback from my boss. First time was great, this time even better. This place made me a LOVER of Gizzards. To eat a piece of hot & crispy chicken skin overhang fresh from the bag in your car blows away any bacon you've had in your life. We received some really bad chicken from this location. The chicken was dry, mostly breading and very, very little meat. The fries tasted as if they where cooked in old oil. Obviously the quality of food from this location doesn't matter from the proprietor or employees. I will not be back, and have probably been pushed away from Brown's Chicken all together. Love the Palatine location. Crispy chicken, fresh and not greasy. Staff and owner very pleasant. While the facilities are not new, they were clean. Whenever we get a craving for chicken, off to Palatine Browns. Love their cole slaw and chicken livers. We have had bad luck at the Buffalo Grove and Schaumburg locations.(greasy old chicken, stores not up to par.) I think the franchise should pay closer attention to their facilities. read more

In fairness, I have to update. I've been there twice since my original review. The first time an older gentleman and a younger guy and everything was wonderful...the chicken wasn't dry like that last time and as always the mushrooms were amazing. More importantly...the service was very friendly. The man even brought me my food once it was done. I went again a week later and had another wonderful experience. I'm changing my rating because of that. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is because it is quite pricey. I'll keep paying it but I can't be happy about it so -1 star. read more
