Always good food and service. Today I tried something different Ahi tuna burger. It was terrible. They grind the tuna and patty it into a burger. If you do get it.....get it medium well. Onion rings had to be redone they were warm not hot. With that much breading you want them hot. My other half got the three cheese garlic burger. I have had that before it's very good and cheesy. I am a fan of delicious burgers so I was excited to try this place. My family stopped in here for lunch while out shopping in Metropolis. The food was just okay. Nothing special. I did not like the fries at all. They were way too greasy and soggy. I got the Bru Burger and I didn't really like that much either. Their sauces are housemade and we weren't a fan. My son ordered chicken tenders and couldn't really enjoy them because he did not like the BBQ sauce. The service was good and the staff was nice. Clean restaurant. And they have nice patio seating outdoors. I can't say if we will be back because we just really didn't enjoy the food. But it did the job as we were stuffed when we left. read more

First time trying Bru Burger, and I must admit was nervous because I dont eat beef but I was excited to find out they have an Impossible burger. When we went inside the very first sign I seen was sorry we're currently out of the impossible burgers. noooo! I thought this was the end of the road until the person that sat us said they do have fish. I ordered the Cod sandwich with onion rings. Just so you know everything is al la carte which I thought was weird. My cod sandwhich was pretty good!! My onion rings were ok, the batter was good but the onions are cut too thick for my liking. If I go back I'll just get french fries. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake which was so good and rich. Their small one but for me it was huge. Delicious, juicy and cooked to perfection. I added and egg and bacon which are two of my fav toppings. I also ordered the peach white chocolate bread pudding. They have a wide selection of beers, wines and cocktails available. I sat at the bar and Michael was my server. Bru Burger, Plainfield, is one of the newest of the many Cunningham Restaurants in the Indy area. This family friendly restaurant has a contemporary decor with a black and grayish color scheme with pho tin/metal doors and pho rivots. Really cute! The restaurant has a warm, laid-back ambiance even with the amount of hardscape in the restaurant. I love the layout from the large, black and chrome sofa and chairs in the waiting area to the dining area being broken into two sections with an open, spacious room. The very lovely, large bar is off-set by the patio with seating for many customers. A large TV is located on the back wall of the bar for sporting events. It's a very comfortable bar area to hang out for drinks, game or dining. This Pet Friendly Patio (leashed pets only) has four 2-top tables and six 4-top tables on a fully covered patio. The patio is recessed off the sidewalk and provides an illusion of some privacy. The open, black rail enclosing the patio area provides a light, airy feeling instead of clostrophobic stuffiness. A soft, gentle breeze made for a comfortable lunch outdoors today in 85 degree weather. Our server, Ella, was an excellent server who was friendly and professional. She checked back on us often, food arrived timely and Ella confirmed each item was tasty without problems. Our total experience went very well and we'll certainly be back. You'll find a large craft beer list with signature cocktails and wines. Husband started off with a Zombie Dust which was ice cold and refreshing. Unfortunately Bru Burger serves Pepsi products so I stayed with lemon ice water. The menu offers appetizers and shareable sides, fresh salads, Chef and classic burgers or sandwiches. Yes, it's a classy burger bar but with tasty appetizers, salads, vegetarian and gluten free options. I started with a cup of the hearty chili toppped with diced onions, shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. The small portion size was perfect as an appetizer. For my entree, I ordered the large portion of Gorgonberry Pecan Salad with Blackened Grilled Chicken. The salad consisted of spring mix greens, gorgonzola, cranberries, candied pecans, bacon and cranberry- poppyseed dressing. The salad was lightly dressed instead of floating in dressing. Plus the dressing wasn't overly sweet and blended well with the salad toppings. My husband had the Regular Burger topped with Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and served with excellent French Fries with their delicious, homemade ketchup. The burger was perfectly cooked as requested and flavorful. He was very happy with his selection and said he was glad we came today. Dessert selections range from heavy peach bread pudding, lighter cheesecake, Root Beer Floats, Bourbon Brownies or ice cream. I desperately wanted to order the Bourbon Brownie but I was stuffed. Thinking back, I should have ordered to go and went straight home to the fridge. We were here in the height of lunch arriving at noon. First time at a BRU burger while spending the night in town. They provided military discount. Staff on phone and in person were very pleasant and professional. Good social distancing protocol for pickup orders and sit down. Burgers were great (large portion, flavorful) and special order was spot on. Wings were also quite good, just right on all fronts (size, flavor, kick). Onions were good if you like the thicker cut onions. Fries were a little on the greasy side. Their house ketchup was just right as well. We did takeout from the hotel and the food was a little bit cold when we returned to the hotel, no fault of the restaurant. The wait was no time at all, got seated right away in the bar area immediately a waitress came over and asked if we wanted to order a drink my husband decided to get a sample of a beer as I slowly looked over the menu at the cocktails it took the lady at least another 10 minutes to come back over, she asked us if we wanted an appetizer so we decided to order the chicken nachos but still did not ever get the sample of beer ; about 5 more minutes later she finally comes over with the sample of beer and I decided to order a cocktail The Sangria, was very small in size in the alcohol was minimal:( I should have known better but I didn't # the nachos were good but in my opinion the barbecue sauce was way too sweet ,they should give you the option whether you want sweet barbecue or hot barbecue they might have been better if they had a hot barbecue sauce.but they were really big and filling. For my food I ordered the chicken sandwich and I added bacon and cheese,my bacon was very flimsy so I had to send it back. I knew from past experiences that their Ranch and ketchup were both made in house but this particular time the ranch tasted very leafy and the ketchup was overly sweet. my husband however had no complaint about his food. our service unfortunately was a little on the lagging side she hardly ever came over to check on our order and then when our water is got empty it wasn't till we were almost finished before she fill them back. overall the food was okay , the service needs a little bit more attention, but I would definitely go back because their Rewards program is awesome! read more

I had dinner here on a Tuesday night with my family. I ordered a bean burger with fruit and also the Valencia salad. The bean burger was okay, it was way too salty for my taste. I felt like I needed to drink a gallon of water afterwards. The fruit was good and the salad was the best part. It was very good. If I went back, I would just get a salad. My husband liked his Bru burger, but it didn't really stand out as one of the best he's had or anything. The kids were happy enough with their kids cheeseburgers. When my burger came out, there were 3 whole garlic cloves under the cheese. Something I've never seen before in a restaurant. To add on, the Michelob Ultra is listed for $4 on the menu, but rang up as $6 on the check. When I asked why, the server came back and told me it was because they raised the prices but hadn't had the chance to change the menu. No offer to ring it up at the menu price. Don't be fooled by the name. This isn't just a regular bar that happens to have burgers. The quality of everything is quite high here! I went in and there's plenty of space and seating inside. I was here alone for a work trip so to the bar area I went. The bartender was pretty awesome. Helped me figure out what I wanted and was generally pretty good at checking in on me. So this place is mainly known for their burgers in case you hadn't figured it out. But I ordered my burger with a side salad instead of fries and it was so good. They have great salads! And the burger was soo flavorful and delicious! I also had an old fashioned while I was there and it was really goood. They have a pretty extensive drink menu. And the dessert options are quite diverse as well. I went for the homemade cheesecake and it was really tasty. Bottom line is, order whatever you feel like, because you won't go wrong! read more

After a LONG day of travel from OAK to Indianapolis, we were HANGRY. Like, we couldn't get to food fast enough. I got on YELP and found the closest burger place we could from the airportwe . The service was so incredibly sweet and empathic to our starvation and got us in and ordered quickly. The pretzel and cheese dipping sauce was EVERYTHING. I had the lamb burger which was excellent!! Many people worry lamb is too rich or fatty tasting (I don't) but this was not at all!! People who don't like lamb might still enjoy this. I was a little disappointed that it had to be "over cooked" but it wasn't dried out. Topping were fresh and sides were good!! I have multiple allergies but the worse is bovine... anything cow! I had the Bourbon burger, M had a Honey Chipotle BBQ pulled pork burger (it looked amazing and I'm sure it had a shorter name), and Mr. B had a basic Cheese Burger but he doctored it up with fries and Mac and cheese. Overall, the food was KILLA! I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Christopher in Expo as not only was he fast, he was courteous, sweet, and extremely amazing. I hope he continues to shine! I had a great very late dinner here at Btu Burger. It was more of a back up plan as my evening plans got changed. I was very glad to find that they still open for dinner past 9 pm as that was around the time I finally got to eat. Nonetheless we were greeted and seated by a great watiress. Very nice and went over the specials. There was a special devour Indy menu. I decided to get the Chili Fries. I had no idea how big those are I was extremely hungry and had my family with me to help eat those. They were definitely some of the best Chili fries I have ever had. The chili was excellent, the fries were crisp enough to hold up to the chili. The cheese not overwhelming and of excellent quality. After munching on those for a while we got the burgers we had ordered. They have an extensive and wide array of choices which should meet most anyone's needs. I had the bourbon burger as it has all items i love. The burger itself was medium and still quite juicy. I liked the buns as t hey had a very homemade taste and were very fresh. The toppings though mainly i tasted the bacon and the burger itself the sauce was not overwhelming. I honestly didn't taste teh cheese. The burgers are quite large and i only could eat half of it. The service was great the entire time i was there. Good refills and a timely check processing. I wasn't at the bar but i noticed it looked very nice and had quite a good array of choices to drink too. The facilities are very nice inside. The parking situation is not idea as they are building a new building right behind the mall and that took a lot of the nearby parking. There is still plenty of parking just a few minutes walk away.
