I loved this coffee shop! I frequent coffee shops around Chicago in order to study and do some work and Bru is one of my favorites. There's plenty of tables and space to sit and it always has a nice vibe. There are chandeliers and hats hanging from the ceiling and it's unique. The baristas are always nice and accommodating. The coffee is also pretty good. I always order the chai tea latte or the white chocolate lavender mocha, as seen in my image below. Stumbled across this little gem when we went to the Adidas and Champion stores. So glad we were hungry. Blink and you might miss this little gem. Signage is subtle. It's cavernous and dark. The brightness comes from the subway tile wall behind the counter. It's nicely decorated and the staff did a great job walking around and sanitizing surfaces. There is plenty of seating The food is delicious. We intended to go sweet and savory but ended up with two savory crepes. We did the chicken teriyaki and the pear/goat cheese/honey truffle. The first I would definitely do again. The latter I could swap out for a tried and true sweet dessert crepe or depending on my taste buds hit up as my savory. Staff is friendly and very helpful. We stopped by Bru for some dessert after dinner nearby. The strawberry mango crepe was absolutely delicious (and a pretty nice portion to split between 2 after a meal). The Strawberry, mango, custard, mascarpone, and toasted almonds really complements each other. Can't wait to try the others! read more

Cute, comfortable seating I ordered a Nutella banana crepe and subbed it out for strawberries instead of bananas. My crepe was super sweet with the Nutella and it was way sweeter than what I initially wanted. Mine was overly sweet and I didn't finish it. It had hazelnuts and the crunch was so good' I love the crunch. I had a few super sour strawberries, but nonetheless, id order again but less Nutella on it. It also had whipped cream on it & I think they make their own whipped cream, super tasty and delicate. I love it. Id do a 8/10 for mine too. My friend ordered the açaí bowl, but she didn't finish it either. She left about 3/4 and she would rate her açaí bowl 8/10 The only letdown for me was the sweetest level and I had to drink a cup of water, still wasn't enough to tackle the sweetness or the crepe. Overall, id recommend the place. Id prob get something different next time I go there. I had been waiting to try this place for so long - I am so glad I finally got the chance to go. Their green smoothies are so delicious. Their teriyaki chicken crepe is also wonderful. You probably can't go wrong with any of their crepe options though. I do recommend their smoothies over their coffees and other drinks though. Great place for a work meeting or for lunch. I've been here a million times and always get the same thing - can't say enough about the wild berry mascarpone crepe. Equally dessert-esque sweet with fresh fruit, and amazing crepe! It's a little warm when you dine in and get it fresh! Espresso is great too, usually get a plain iced latte but if I recall correctly, at one point, unsure if they still have, they made a brown sugar or something of the sort latte. However, a few friends and I popped in for an afternoon pick me up while we were in town on a girls trip. It gave bohemian coffee house vibes...vintage chandeliers, sofas and chairs, decorative pillows...it was adorable. So they specialize in crepes...fruit, breakfast, savory, sweet...take your pick! Bru was honestly such a disappointment. The coffee shop's interior is so quaint with vintage furniture and gorgeous decor, but the beverages were seriously lacking. I visited Bru around 3 p.m. on a Thursday with two others. We ordered a Cortado, Orange Blossom Matcha (seasonal), and a Brown Cinnamon Sugar Chai Latte. Our total, with a tip, was a little over $20. The Cortado was a bit bitter. The Orange Blossom Matcha and Chai Latte were just really bland - tasting mostly of milk. The Orange Blossom Matcha had no hint of orange whatsoever; it just tasted like an original matcha latte but bland. I give Bru a 1 star for its interior design and atmosphere but the drinks were a bust. read more

I really wish I had taken a picture of my wild berry crepe, but I ate it so quickly. It was definitely one of the most delicious things I've eaten while here in Chicago. The mascarpone was soooo flavorful and creamy and delicious and the berries were so fresh. 5/5 crepe, honestly. Everyone there is so nice, the bathrooms are immaculately clean, and the decor...WOW. Such a comfy atmosphere that is perfect for studying. The seating is so comfortable and diverse, and when I go back to Chicago I will be coming again. I go here all the time! Whether to study or read, grab a quick bite to eat or drink. The menu has coffee and teas, and yummy delicious savory and sweet crepes. The staff is so nice too. They call out the order not your name in public which I appreciate. The shop is very large and accommodates many sized groupings of people, even with more seating in the back. We stopped by this cafe to dodge the rain. In particular, I was lured in by the sign advertising a hot caramel apple cider. And I was so glad that I tried it out because it was delicious. It terms of apple cider, it was probably one of the better ones I've had (minus the ones that you get fresh pressed at an apple orchard). We also got a brown sugar pumpkin chai tea latte which was also delicious. Perfectly pumpkin flavored and perfectly sweet. I'm not a fan of pumpkin spice lattes so this was a nice alternative. I believe both these drinks were seasonal! From what I saw they also have raw juices, sandwiches, pastries and crepes on their menu. I didn't try any of those but it's nice to know they're there! The space itself was a little strange, they had a few small tables in the front of the store, a large table and a few couches, and then more tables in the back. I was in with two of my employees for a quick coffee. We ordered one iced mocha, one chai tea latte, and one drip coffee. From placing the order to getting the drinks, it took around 15 minutes - that's unreasonably long. There were exactly two drink orders ahead of ours and a building line behind us.
