I had Dr Hagadorn, twenty years ago as my OB, I didn't care for him after the first visit, so I switched over to his partner, who was a lady. Unfortunately, the night that my water broke, my doctor was not on call and Dr. Hagadorn was there. I was alone due to my partner becoming physically abusive during my pregnancy. When checking me, doctor Hagerdorn said to the room, "She probably doesn't even know who the father is." I was in labor, scared and humiliated, so I didn't say anything to anyone. I'm not scared or humiliated now, and I think everyone should know what a piece of garbage he is. read more

I went to Dr. Hagadorn about 8 years ago because I was experiencing pain and bleeding between periods. I was so scared. He told me there was nothing wrong with me, and that my problem was that I was seeing too many doctors, and needed to relax. He was dismissive and patronizing. I went to an urgent care center near my work, and they found a polyp that was causing my issues. They sent me to another doctor who took care of it for me. I didn't write a review then, but I feel that it is important to warn others. In my experience, he didn't seem to care about his patient. He just wanted me in and out as quickly as possible. Hopefully the time he has spent repaying his debt to society for embezzlement and tax evasion has humbled him. read more

I started seeing Dr. Hagadorn when I got pregnant a few months ago. I actually picked him because my previous Dr's front office staff were so rude that I cancelled my appointment before even going in. I called Dr. Hagadorn's office and was able to get an appointment right away. The front staff were so nice and accommodating, I had lots of questions before confirming the appointment and she patiently listened and answered all my neurotic questions. When I came in for my first appointment everyone was friendly and professional. The office is very clean. The biggest plus is that they didn't make me wait forever. When I did see the Dr, he was friendly and very funny. He made me feel at ease, which is not easy with your legs up in the air. I felt like Dr. Hagadorn gave us a lot of great information and spent a good amount of time with us. I never felt like he was rushing me to get to someone else. I ended up having a miscarriage a month or so after my first appointment. As expected, my husband and I were devastated, Being first time pregnant and not knowing what to expect was very scary. Dr. Hagadorn and his staff were so good to us. They got us in right away, were compassionate, informative and helpful. I am so grateful that I had such a wonderful Dr (an office staff) to help me through it. I have read some of the other reviews for Dr. Hagadorn, I don't know about some of the other issues but I know I've had a great experience with him and that is all that matters to me. I would highly recommend giving him and his office a chance. You will not be disappointed. read more

The doctor and staff are great. I would give them 5 stars. The reason I am very upset with this practice is the billing department. I was trying to conceive, so I picked an HMO with Aetna that fit my needs: $0 copay for prenatal and reasonable hospital copay for delivery. I had 11 prenatal visits with Dr. H and was told by the admitting nurse that I had no copay. About 3 months after giving birth, the first bill arrived. $660 due for 11-$60 copays. My insurance broker attempted to rectify this by contacting both Aetna and the billing department for Dr. H. The billing department coded my visits as treatment for me, the mother, and not prenatal treatment for my son, the fetus. I am not paying this. It is outrageous. They can try to send me to collections and garnish my paychecks, at which point I will get a lawyer and sue for insurance fraud. I do not recommend this practice, as you will get hit with an erroneous, large bill many months after you assume your relationship with this practice is complete. Treating new mothers like this is hideous and I am not going to shed one more tear or lose one more night's sleep over this. Dr. H- You were the best OBGYN I have had to date, but I can not accept the disservice your billing department has bestowed upon me. The stress that this ordeal has caused my entire family is just not worth even excellent care. Your company not only owes me a $0 balance, but they should have to finance the couple's counseling this financial disaster has caused. read more

Please note, I am not pregnant, have no children, and am not planning on it anytime soon. This usually is not the normal case when seeing gyno reviews ;) My previous gyno history is long and really doesn't matter to any of you, but, thankfully, I found Dr. Hagadorn on Yelp. Bruce is WONDERFUL, and so is his entire staff. They are super caring and not awkward at all. Bruce makes you forget you're at the gyno and just makes you feel super comfortable, because he is not judge-y (which, unfortunately, feels like the case with a lot of gynos, which makes no sense), and is a very open, practical doctor. He will give you options, state what he thinks is best, but does NOT force you into any decision because he understands they are entirely yours to make, whether it's a routine decision or not. I absolutely adore him, and won't be going anywhere else. read more

He planned a C-section for my high risk twins at another small hospital instead of CHOC knowing that I had planned to go to CHOC. I found out a week before that he didn't have privileges and was trying to force me into his small hospital and said they would medi-flight my babies if something went wrong. Well I refused. ended up having both my babies in NICU, like I worried would happen. He was so cold and nasty about having to go to Mission. I'm glad I didn't buckle. I am writing this review in order to actually ask for anyone on here who can help me. While living in California, I went to Dr. Hagadorn. He was wonderful, I had a great experience, and was/am very satisfied with my treatment. My problem is with the staff/office. I returned to Illinois and my regular doctor would like my medical records (ultrasound, labs) while under Dr. Hagadorn's care. I cannot get in touch with a human being! I have been calling for three weeks, leaving messages with the fax number, my name and number, pleading for someone to fax my medical records or at least return my phone call and let me know someone has gotten my messages. The office is only open on Mondays and Fridays, and I have left messages with the answering service on Tues, Wed, Thurs. NOTHING, NO RESPONSE OR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. Meanwhile, I am very concerned about my current situation. If ANYONE here can give me an email address or fax number, I would be so grateful! All I want is my medical records. I just need another way to communicate with the office other than the phone number provided. Again, any information would be greatly appreciated!! read more

I worked for Dr. Hagadorn from 1997-2002. In 1999 I found myself pregnant as did 2 of his other staff! I was his MA and the other MA in the back and I even had the same due date. He delivered all 3 of his staffs babies. You know he has to be a good doctor when all his staff chooses him as their doctor. I had previously had a c-section and desperately wanted a VBAC. I am a type 1 diabetic and my pregnancy and delivery were very high risk. Dr. Hagadorn gave me the delivery I wanted! I had a successful VBAC of a 9 pound baby with no episiotomy or tears. He strives very hard to make this a special and memorable time for you and will do everything in his power to give you the delivery you want. The only reason I no longer work for him is because it turns out my baby had special needs and I had to quit to care for her full time. We love Dr. Hagadorn! After being with a doctor in a large medical group we decided halfway through our pregnancy to switch to Dr. Hagadorn and could not be any happier with our decision. Everyone from the nurses to the front desk are so sweet and caring. His personality was the perfect fit for my husband and he kept us laughing from the day we met him all the way through our C-section. We are VERY disappointed at the office staff of Dr Hagadorn, very poor bedside manners here. GABBY is awful, she is been so rude to us demanding payment without telling us how much we owe. We ended up having them bill our insurance so we didn't have to deal with an out of pocket unknown expense. We were in shock at Dr Hagadorn's dismissive reaction when we told her our experience with his receptionist. He absolutely did not care to hear us out. SHOCKING!! We are half way through our pregnancy and he even told us it'd be hard for us to find a doctor who would take us half way through care. Yet, he made no efforts to alleviate our concerns so we stay with him. PATIENT BEWARE!! I am a new patient and chose Dr. Hagadorn after finding out I was pregnant and doing some research. I met with his nurse, Sandy the first couple of visits because all I needed was blood work. The staff is awesome! So sweet and caring. My third appointment I had an ultrasound and at my fourth appointment, two weeks later, we did a follow up ultrasound. Unfortunately, my husband and I lost the baby, as there was no growth from the ultrasound two weeks prior. Dr. Hagadorn was amazing. He truly cares about how his patients are feeling and thouroughly explained all of my options and made it clear that there is no wrong decision. He even suggested getting a second opinion and even knew a specialist and would schedule the appointment for me. However, there was no need. I started miscarrying the next day, as he said may happen. He was so compassionate and I know that I found a great doctor. read more

I use to NEVER go to male OBGYNs. That all changed when I was referred to Dr. Hagadorn for a problem that 3 other dr's could not diagnose. Dr. Hagadorn is NOT your typical doctor. He speaks his mind and he has a great sense of humor. His humor put me at ease in an otherwise uncomfortable setting. He is very personable with his patients and takes time to really LISTEN. He was able to diagnose my problem and scheduled surgery for me the following week. He was the ONLY Dr who listened to me when I said I was in pain, despite nothing showing up on ultrasounds and x-rays. I have now referred my friends and family to him and now my daughter, who would NEVER see a male gyn will ONLY see Dr Hagadorn because he knows what he's doing!!! It's been 8 Months since our child was born and healthy thanks to Doctor Hagadorn! Him and his staff made things very comforting and his sense of humor helped us get through the confusing times. He's very genuine and a great character. His staff have always been amazing every visit. One thing that stood out to me about him was after the delivery happened. My wife was at the hospital for 24 hours and she was just completely exhausted. She kept saying she wanted a burger after birth. Well, after a successful delivery, he went down and grabbed a burger for us from the cafeteria, hugged us goodbye, and left. A nurse near us said, "I've never seen a doctor do that before and I've been working here a long time. They usually deliver and leave fast as they can". It was a very sweet gesture and that told me he's just a genuine guy. Doctor Hagadorn and his staff have been there for us every step of the way and made us laugh a whole lot during the process. Not sure about all this drama in the background but he's a good man. He'll definitely be the doctor we'll visit if my wife gets pregnant again... hoepfully not any time soon. Doctor Hagadorn! I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hagadorn... not a paid yelp review at all. The care prior to my son being born was wonderful (as well as the staff), even sent me to a specialist when he thought there might be something wrong. My son was delivered via an emergency C-Section at Saddleback Memorial with no issues at all. He delivered him in 13 minutes from start to finish, and my scar is as thin as a piece of paper. If it weren't for my insurance changing and him not being a part of the new network, I would still be going to him, hands down. Past mistakes does not diminish his value as a great doctor. read more

After trying for two weeks to make an appointment because of unreturned calls and/or being sent to the exchange line I should have known my experience was going to be awful here. I finally got my appointment and took the morning off of work to get my annual exam. The gal that I spoke to on the phone said she was going to email me paperwork to fill out ahead of time. Never did. So I show up to my 8:30am appointment 15 minutes early to fill out the papers. I sat in the office without being greeted until 8:50 when Hagadorn's nurse finally showed up. I asked her if this is always how this office conducts business and she said no and tried to blame the other doctor's nurses for not telling me she was running late. Regardless, I had to go to work! I couldn't sit there for another hour filling out papers and waiting to be seen. I left without ever seeing the doctor. Waste of time!! read more

Dr. Hagadorn delivered my second baby a week and a half ago. As a VBAC, I knew I would meet some degree of opposition, but I really did my research and met with Dr Hagadorn. I absolutely wish I would have been in state for my first sons delivery, because he is absolutely amazing. He never rushed an appointment with me, layer out all the pros and cons, is always very honest and upfront, has a great sense of humor that seriously puts you at ease... I had a very long labor with a few complications and i was very fearful that i would be pushed into doing something i wasnt comfortable with as it had happened with my first delivery, but Dr Hagadorn completely left things up to me as long as the baby looked good, which he did, and i am forever grateful for the opportunities I had to labor the way I dreamed i could. I mean I think I might miss being pregnant partially because of his great care! My next pregnancy I will no doubt be going back to Dr. Hagadorn. The yearly female exam is an often dreaded and daunting experience. I saw Dr. Hagadorn for the first time last week for my yearly exam. I must say that it was one of the best doctor's visits that I've ever had. Dr. Hagadorn spent what felt like an hour with me; just talking and getting to know my family medical history, lifestyle, and to address all my concerns. His manner was very easy going and down to earth; definitely not the super formal and intimidating manner that many doctors have. Talking to him just like chatting with a friend. I believe it's to enable his patients to feel at ease enough to open, thus allowing him to give more accurate medical advice. By the end of my visit, I told Dr. Hagadorn and his staff, "That was fun!" Imagine feeling that way after an OB/GYN visit! He has a great staff, as well. read more

I have been with Dr. Bruce Hagadorn since 2014. He delivered my first baby November 2015. I am now pregnant with my second child and undoubtedly have decided to use him again. I first met him when in the delivery room when he delivered my nephew. What better way to interview a future OB/ GYN than to see him in action! He was serious when he needed to be, and lighthearted when it was appropriate. My nephew had breathing complications at first and Dr. Hagadorn had great concern. So much so that he checked up on him the next day while he was in the NICU. That isn't part of his job. But he cared enough to do that. He also delivered my niece and with no complications yet the same professionalism yet human kindness. Naturally when my husband and decided to have a child I chose him to be my doctor. One thing I appreciate about him is he will always give you the pros and cons to each decision you have to make though your pregnancy. He will never push you in to doing any test that isn't necessary. Having a baby, especially for the first time is uncharted territory, and can cause a lot of anxiety. Dr. Hagadorn will ease your anxiety by only being concerned where it is necessary and friendly and lighthearted the rest of the time. His front desk staff Gabby is awesome and remembers each patient. If you want a personal experience for a very special time in your life. Dr. Hagadorn is your guy. I was induced with my Daughter and had a smooth delivery. Only in labor for a little less than 8 hours. And a few stitches to show for it. The next day was Thanksgiving and Dr. Hagadorn came to the hospital that morning and asked about how we were doing. With most doctors these things feel transactional. But not with him. It definitely feels genuine. I look forward to seeing him through the rest of my current pregnancy. By the way no one asked me to write this for him. Nor did I get paid ( another yelp review has accusations of this). So it's been 6months and I feel like if I can do anything for myself is to write about my experience with Dr.Hagadorn. I woke up on Friday July 21st and I was 37weeks pregnant. My doctor was Dr. Jerry Benzl and he delivered my first baby, he is great. His on call Dr. is Dr.Hagadorn if he is out. I never once had to meet him since Dr.Benzl is always there for me. So I had a Dr. Appointment scheduled for 3pm that Friday and I woke up feeling something wrong with my sweet Piper, So I called and asked to move my appointment up and unfortunately Dr. B's wife had to be admitted to the ER. So I was called into labor and delivery at Mission Hospital. And they confirmed there was no heart beat for her. I was holding onto my faith in the Lord as I know I would need him more than ever to go through this. He has a bigger plan for her. Anyway Dr. Hagadorn came in and saw me and my husband and explained on what was going to happen and it was throughout and gave me an option to either go home and sit on it for while or we can deliver. Said he suggests us to do an autopsy on her after she is born. We said probably not. I said I want to see her and want to deliver her today. Let's start the process. So we started the process and I will never forget my sweet CARING nurses that were there for my family that day! While I was laboring, and knew that time was coming to get her out, the nurses called him up and the nurses ended up delivering her. (the nurse who got her out said she has never seen this before that the cord was wrapped 3x around her ankle and looks like she kicked out and it caused a blood clot and a embolism on her belly button. It was clear as day) He came into the room rubbing his eyes and looking as though he rolled out of bed. He rudely yelled at my nurse and talked down to her right in front of my husband and I, he was nowhere to be found and explained he ran to his car to have his phone charged. His bedside manner is appalling and insensitive. Talking down to the nurse and how he spoke to us in an uncaring manner. after delivering her, we spent about 12hr with her. he came back into the room and said you did good kiddo! And said that we should get an autopsy done, so we know what happened to her. He said We will run tests on her and you, but we won't know the cause of death without one. We told him we have our answer. He kept pushing us to do it, and my husband said no! we have our answer that the nurse who delivered her gave us and no one is going to cut into our baby. So he moved on from that conversation and said "now you and your husband can think about having another one" and proceeded to point at us with his fingers, and said how great it was to work with us and that he was brought up on charges for cursing to the board of doctors and how he can get away with it. And how understanding we are with his words. and proceeded to tell us how he has Irish twins and how horrible it is that they are living at his house still. Said he will probably see me tomorrow in recovery. So the next day he saw me in recovery with a shirt and a pair of board shorts along with his sandals like he was headed off to the beach...he literally stood there saying it again you did good kiddo, it's always so hard to go through this I am sure, and then he said Dr. Benzl will check you out when you schedule appointment. He didn't touch me or check me out to even make sure my fundus moved down properly or see if I was hemoraging or not. I was like well the nurses didn't check me and you didn't check me so I guess it's not important and we didn't even half to see you today cause you did nothing. He only then said you guys make pretty babies and should think bout when you may try again. Me just giving birth to a baby that I wasn't going to bring home from the hospital to have her little sister to enjoy, that we won't get to see her crawl or make her first giggles etc...was the last thing on my mind. It was rude. And again insensitive. This maybe not as bad as you think it is while reading this about him but I just want you to know that it effected me. I know people deal with death in all sorts of ways and he may have his way but as a doctor you would think there is a time and place to say things. I thought he was supposed to be there for me while delivery and caring and sensitive. He was not.Two weeks later we were still waiting on our babies cremation remains and they could not even cremate her until the death papers were signed by the delivering doctor. it took Dr. Hagadorn and his team that long to sign it, cause on the line it says delivering doctor, and he insisted it was Dr. Benzl who has to sign it, in which it was him. So there was a ton of back and forth and trying to get the office to get on top of it, as we wanted her back ASAP, Im happy to see reading some of your reviews with him were positive and everything else. But with mine, I feel the need that my story needs to be told to foreworn some of you. read more

I switched to Dr. Hagadorn when I was 32 weeks pregnant because I was very uncomfortable with the OB I had been seeing (he would give me information that I later would find out was wrong). I wanted to try to have an unmedicated birth. I wanted a doctor I could trust that would support my birth choices. I interviewed several other doctors known in the "natural birth community". He was the only one who took the time to answer all of my questions, who I felt comfortable with, and who I believed really would support my choices. I am extremely glad he was my doctor. We had some complications during the birth and I am certain that without him, I would have had an emergency c-section. He kept his cool and told us exactly what he was doing and how long he would let us wait to see if the situation improved before tacking more drastic steps. And it worked! Dr. Hagadorn is quite a character. He is very upfront and speaks his mind and I'm sure some people could get offended by that. I didn't mind because it because he made me feel like an equal, rather than other doctors who assume you're too stupid to understand and don't take the time to answer your questions. I also loved his staff. His office is friendly and down to earth. When you're going there sometimes multiple times per week, it makes a difference. We had an amazing birth experience and, most importantly, one that ended with a healthy mom and baby. I don't think this would have been the case with the doctor I had been seeing. Another plus is that Dr. Hagadorn has his own practice, so it's much more likely that he will be there for your birth than in a group practice. It's much less stressful to deliver a baby with a doctor you know well. I highly recommend Dr. Hagadorn. read more

I have no clue how anyone could give Dr. Hagadorn and his staff a one star review! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Hagadorn delivered my first son in 2011, and I am back with baby #2. I can not say enough positive things about this office. I would consider myself to be a bit high maintenance and they are so sweet and kind. Every single phone call/message is returned, no matter how silly it is. I had a rough delivery and I am totally confident saying that Dr. Hagadorn saved my life. I look forward to my appointments because the doctor is such a joy to be around, and so funny. Also, whoever had something to negative to say about Gabby must have been having a bad day because she is so sweet and caring. Donna is also such a pleasure to be around.
