A nice update: After leaving the below review about our previous visit, I was contacted by Bert, the District Manager, who went above and beyond to make things right. She was horrified by our experience and explained management changes were already taking place to ensure a sitiuation like ours never happened again. She also personally offered to remake our order correctly and with the care we deserved on another visit. We decided to take her up on the offer, because what else did we have to lose? This time, Bert was on site to ensure everything came out perfectly...and it did! The bagel sandwiches were hot and fresh, the order was made the way they should be, and Bert's customer service was excellent. She also apologized several times for our original visit. We really appreciate Bert's professionalism, kindness and commitment to customer service as she completely turned our experience around and made good on her promise to make things right. Original review: Absolutely terrible experience (yet again) at the Avon Bruegger's. My husband called in a to-go order for a Double Stack and a Sriracha Honey Sunrise, and both sandwiches were completely wrong. The wrong bagels, no cream cheese, and zero attention to detail. It's basic stuff, but apparently too much for this location. When I called to speak with a manager about fixing the issue, I was put on hold for over 11 minutes, only to hear manager Emily loudly complaining about customers and their orders to a male coworker. He mentioned several times that I was still on hold, but Emily told him to "just hang up" on me instead of taking the call. I could clearly hear everything they were saying. When I called back, Anastasia answered and was very apologetic, but said Emily "couldn't talk right now." I could hear Emily in the background refusing to come to the phone. There was no apology, no offer to call back, nothing. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. This is the third bad experience I've had here, and it's obvious where the problem lies. Emily is rude, dismissive, and has absolutely no business being in a management position. A good manager leads by example, not by hiding from customers and dumping issues on her team. Based on other reviews, I'm clearly not the only one who's had problems with her. Bruegger's corporate should take a hard look at this location because Emily is the problem. The food was so fresh! The Turkey Chipotle Club was excellent. The only complaint is that is was a little small.. not the average bagel size. The egg & cheese was equally as delicious. Their coffee was the best coffee I've had in a while! The service was professional and helpful. Being first timers at Bruegger's we asked for their favorites and we were very pleased with our sandwiches. The ambiance is your typical bagel shop decor. read more

Is three people there they ran out of two different kinds of bagels. It is late though and there is. Literally 17 people waiting in line another car pulling in with two other people. They don't have the avocado. Have any drinks left in the refrigerator or at the counter? The bagel was really good tasty and soft and the combination of the egg and ham and brown on. Bruegger's is our go-to breakfast sandwich place. Even though their food isn't "out of this world", we usually order from them once a week. It's a quick drive from our house and the staff is always friendly regardless of how busy they are. Their bagels are always fresh. My favorites are their everything bagels (both regular & whole wheat), pumpernickel, and rosemary olive oil. Their menu offers the perfect variety and their ingredients never taste stale or fake. Tip: ask for your receipt. It usually includes a customer service survey, which offers a reward of 2 free bagels. It only takes about 3 minutes to complete, definitely worth it. read more

I have to say I really enjoyed our breakfast from Brueggers Bagels. I got the sriracha honey breakfast sandwich it's a must try. I substituted the bacon for ham, but it came with egg and cheese and a delicious honey Sriracha sauce that was so delicious it was on a perfectly baked everything bagel!! My son ordered a beacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel and had no complaints at all. He also agreed our breakfast was delicious!! I would definitely recommend Brueggers Bagels. Despite being a national chain, Bruegger's Bagels makes fresh and delicious bagels every day! You can't go wrong with any bagel and they have quite a variety. Their homemade cream cheeses are top quality too. The staff is always friendly and patient. Since Covid they took away their seating, but they still have a booth or 2 where you can sit. I would say in the post Covid era Bruggers is more of a to go place rather than sit down. I must stop on the weekends for brunch. read more

I remember the days past when you could go to any Bruegger's in the state and for under $3 you received a legit NY Style sized bagel with eggs, meat and cheese. Well now Bruegger's has succeeded in putting profits 1000% over anything else. For just under $6 now you get a Mini sized bagel, literally the size of a coffee cover lid. I have always been a fan of Bruegger's bagels. I went today to pick up a bagel sandwich for breakfast. First, the store is set up very well for Covid and social distancing was strictly enforced. All staff and customers were wearing masks and using hand sanitizer. The staff, I must say, is so friendly and polite. I interacted with several of them. I had a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee . It was first thing in the morning . I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming . The shop is nice and sunny . Always quick and easy for a local bagel or snack. Much cheaper than the favorites like brookside bagels or bagel chalet, but you don't get a true "homemade" feel or anything super super special BUT they are always consistent which is important, and takes a lot less time to get your order than the cult places next door! read more

Went there this morning craving a bagel with lox. For 2 bagels and 2 coffees it came to 2o.oo I didn't mind that as we ordered 2 lox bagels......however mine had 5 capers on the smallest bagel I have ever seen . The bagel was so small! Both were so skimpy and very disappointing. I would have gladly paid more for a larger bagel......I know this is the Avon crowd where everyone is a size zero to 2 but really? And I forgot to add the guy at the register ( who was adorably ) completely spaced out our coffees ...we had to ask 3 times for them .....and they were not busy at the time. 3 stars because the lox was good...... read more

I'm not sure what it is about Bruegger's, but they always have a very consistent combination of delicious bagels and poor service. The Avon location is no different. The delicious poppyseed bagels always keep me coming back for more, but the cold attitudes and lack of eye contact by the employees is a big turn off. The other reviews reporting a severe lack of bagels at all times of the day are absolutely correct. Nothing is more disheartening than deciding to forgo your diet, heading into Bruegger's ready to sink your teeth into a warm bagel with cream cheese, and finding there is nothing left but a couple plain bagels, an onion bagel, and two cinnamon raisin bagels (actually walked in on this a couple weeks ago at 9:30 am). The bagels are delicious and the location can't be beat for a Farmington Valley girl, but the service has much to be desired and the bagel production could use some improvements. Giving three stars because the fresh bagels and awesome location always keep me coming back. One final word of advice; skip the stale coffee here and head to Dom's Coffee up the street for your caffeine needs. read more

A mediocre bagel place. The bagels are standard brueggers. You know what you're going to get. A bit smaller than some other bagels but they also don't seem to stay fresh as long. Coffee is pretty good and service is fast and efficient. Skip the egg sandwich. The egg is rubbery and so is the sausage; probably the worst tasting egg sandwich I've had in a while. Every time I've come here I've always had a great experience and my food has always need good. I usually get a breakfast sandwich, or if I come for lunch I get soup and a sandwich on a bagel. They also have egg salad sometimes which is good on a bagel as well. Their bagels have always tasted fresh, and it's fast service. I don't know why this place only has three stars. The bagel that I ordered and the bagel that I received were drastically different and had I known I would have put in the effort to go elsewhere. With coronavirus pandemic in full force and effect we are taking steps to review various businesses at random. Usually through an initial tip. We can confirm sensitivity to coronavirus concerns have not been adhered to at Bruegger's Bagels in Avon, CT. Extreme insensitivity to vulnerable at risk customers seeking to safe haven with curbside delivery it a main concern. Management has given customers misinformation on internal policy and failed to comply with state recommendations while conducting business. Willfully breaching the six foot rule with customers after disseminating misinformation on curbside practices. More importantly showing an intentional and/or negligent approach to following state guidelines. Policies need to be clear and transparent within management. Deviation between employee/management and ownership is readily transparent. Regardless of positive reviews related to food quality on this forum it is our/my opinion this establishment can't be trusted to deliver customer centric service that is safe. Although food handling has not been proven to be a main cause of COVID 19 transmission there have been documented cases where establishments fail to oversee employee conduct which leads to higher risk of infection in all age groups. We recommend not just a willingness to conduct safe curbside service for the most vulnerable..but also a tightening of restaurant rules and procedures inside of Breugger's. This is a high risk establishment to frequent based on numerous reports. Find a more compliant establishment and avoid the risk. We believe procedures established at Antonio's in Simsbury is a good blueprint of success. read more

As a resident of Avon, CT, it happens that Bruegger's is very close to my home. If it was not, I would NEVER purchase bagels there. Generally, I buy a bundle for our family, however, every single time I get afflicted with a rude employee, a disgruntled employee, an employee with an attitude problem or a dirty store. Now, for some reason you cannot even sit and eat a bagel and a coffee-- allegedly because of COVID. (Covid is no longer an excuse or a thing... not that it ever was...) Really it looks like they are remodelling or something and didn't want to be bothered with having to have seating any longer. I just really am bored with these loser employees. It really reflects on the fact that the ownership of this franchise just doesn't give a rat's *** about you as a customer and they know you are hostage. I understand that these must be minimum wage employees, but that is not our problem as customers. Maybe someone will open a competing store with better staff and some common sense. read more

There's nothin' like Bruegger's Bagels...nothin'. I used to eat here all the time in college...well, not THIS branch per se, one in Tucson, Arizona. And when I moved to West Hartford 10 + years ago, it was my one little tie to something "homey." Jump to now...we just went back to CT for a little vay-cay and stumbled across the branch in Avon and I just HAD to go for lunch. My fave: Everything Bagel, Turkey, lettuce, tomato, provolone and honey mustard. It's the honey mustard that truly makes it a Bruegger's!! I swear I lived on that damn sandwich for a few years while in CT...it was the one remotely healthy and QUICK bite I could grab on the way to work. Inexpensive, good, clean environment...friendly staff! Tip: there's a really great candy store (bulk) in the same shopping center so you can get your sweet-tooth on after grubbin' on lunch! read more

Recently moved into the area, so we wanted to check this bagel place. Stopped by a couple of days ago with the wife. Asked for the smoked salmon with the egg salad, "I haven't had time to make egg salad" was the response in a very annoyed tone by the guy behind the counter. Requested the egg sandwich as depicted in a poster, and got my sandwich on something that tasted like a cardboard bagel (not as the picture) and egg was probably cooked days before being served. Wife ordered a simple bagel toasted and the same guy missed the order. When asked about it he tried to blame my wife for the missing bagel. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Was in this morning waiting for my bagels after I already paid and the manager came from the back "wearing black shirt" basically telling me to get out of the way and pay. I am shocked to see this place has 2.5 star reviews. We come here whenever we visit family nearby which is about once every 3 weeks. We have been coming here for years. I religiously order their breakfast sandwiches with coffee. Its always done right and quickly and you can get any bagel combination with your breakfast sandwich. This place is consistent, reliable, fast and delicious... i saw there was someone complaining about soup... huh? this is a bagel place! To be frank they shouldnt be selling soup anyway. But dont go to pepes pizza and complain about the soda! Service is always polite in words but sometimes a little grumpy in tone. This is a new york city thing. Its a new england thing. Dont take it personally. I dont blame them for having a slight frustration to their voice as long as everything else is A+ which it is. These are the best bagels outside of nyc. I come here for that reason. Bagels elsewhere will NOT be kettle cooked... come here for the bagels and the bagel sandwiches. My ONLY complaint about this place is that they dont give you a plate or a tray. They used to. The result is a greasy table and its just a bit frustrating.
