I went in about 5 minutes before close today because I had been craving a bagel all morning and was not able to come in any earlier due to classes. I walk in and one of the female employees made a huge scene shaking her head and throwing her hands in the air. I went to the counter to order, and in the rudest way possible she says "you know we close in 3 minutes". I looked at her and the other girl working and said "ok I'll just go somewhere else". I found it very rude that they basically refused me service and believe that is a terrible show for the business as a whole. I do not plan on going there again and will not be suggesting it to my friends as I was rudely treated during service hours. read more

My husband and I had the build-your-own bagel sandwich with turkey. It was SO good and definitely hit the spot. My only complaint is that we paid for extra turkey, but it only came with 1 slice of turkey. They're small bagels to start with, so this 1 slice was very measly. I did not even now there are Brugger's bagels everywhere but my first time trying it was in East Lansing. My first time was very mediocre, I selected something I've never tried before which was their smoked salmon and I was skeptical about fish on bread but my second time around got better. First time it was very salty, and I couldn't get half way though the sandwich and I just gave up. I believe whoever made this order perhaps put too many capers on the bagel and since it was my first-time eating capers, it was a lot for my tongue to handle. I have tried this type of bagel from other establishments, and I grew to like it. A year or so later, I came back to a Bruegger's and it was good. So, it is probably just that first time, bad luck situation, but I have tried different options from this restaurant, and I do enjoy their bagels. Here, they offer breakfast and lunch options, assortments of bagels and cream cheeses, desserts, and sides. This place is on a busy street so parking could be a slight obstacle, so be prepared, but do give it a go. read more

I was never a morning person in college and after trying the Sriracha Honey Sunrise Bagel, I wish I had been! After 11 years of living in the City, I finally made the trip to Bruegger's Bagels to grab a bagel sandwich and coffee with my dad while he was visiting and it was great! The everything bagel was delicious and it really hit the spot. If you don't like spicy things and the word "Sriracha" scares you, don't fret! This cream cheese wasn't hot at all when paired with the other flavors in this breakfast bagel. I really liked that they listed the calories for each of their menu options, and gave you the option of one egg or two on the sandwiches. The prices were fair as well. My dad had a blueberry bagel and I brought my significant other a bagel sandwich in addition to my sandwich for about $14 out the door. I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches and their interesting cream cheese options soon! read more

I came here on the Saturday morning of Homecoming weekend to grab some breakfast before heading to the tailgate, and also to wait out the rain. There was a super long line, but the staff remained friendly throughout and did their best to keep the line moving, so I don't think we really waited much longer than 10-15min. It was 1000000 degrees in the shop, but I think realistically that had a lot to do with the number of bodies jammed in there. Despite how busy it was, we were able to snag a booth and eat our breakfast in relative peace before heading out into the cold and rain. My bagel sandwich was piping hot and very filling! A little pricey for a breakfast sandwich, but not obscenely so. I no longer live in the area, but would definitely be back in the future! read more

Downfall, it's too expensive for these college students (I once was one and it was rough) You're able to come in here around 6am, so enough time for those that have class or work at 8am. To me, rating take out is in relation to quality/price. Had a Roma roast beef sandwich that was marginal. Got a haircut on my lunch break and needed a quick sandwich. For $8.79 I got an average size sandwich, small bag of chips and medium soda. I kept taking a bite and wondering who came up with the curious mixture of ingredients. Ate the thing with a puzzled look on my face. The roast beef had a more than allowable amount of grizzly strings. Jimmy John's roast beef is twice as good. read more

I love Bruegger's. I come here once a week at the very least, and I'm always happy with the food and customer service. A breakfast sandwich and a drink is usually about $6, which isn't too expensive in my opinion. A bagel with cream cheese is just over $2. The bagels are hot and fresh all morning long, so pretty much no matter when you go you can be sure your bagel was very recently made. The asiago bagels are my favorite, but right now they have pumpkin bagels! They're amazing, and I totally recommend them. If you go during an MSU passing period the line can get pretty long, but the staff keeps it moving at a good clip. The manager is so nice and always smiling, so I can't help but leave here in a good mood. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a store. Employees were so rude to me and never gave me my food which I paid for and never received. Waited an HOUR AND A HALF just to be told that I should have picked up my food when it was done but it was never completed. Never tried to help or offer a refund or other options in food just was rude and had an attitude. The young woman and young man told me they put my food out but never did. I walked out crying from embarrassment and disrespect. Never in my 21 years have I been so disrespected and I have bought here before and they had an amazing staff before but there new staff is so rude. With 6 employees how could they not make 3 bagels and one bagel sandwich. I approached being kind and they started getting rude with me. After reading other comments I believe the woman who was rude to me and made me seem like I was in the wrong and told me "WHAT DID YOU EVEN ORDER THEN" attempted show her my phone and she said "I CANT READ THAT" ROLLED HER EYES. This place had an electrical fire last spring and is currently being re-modeled. The bagels are good--they taste pretty close to real Jewish bagels, not like that spongey crap made by Panera. That's the only thing I've ever had there. We go every Mother's Day for breakfast. I can't wait until they open again. Every since Bagel Haul in Haslett closed (as well as Bagel Fragel in E. Walked into massive puddles of water as I walked into the store, as they mopped without a "wet floor" sign. Walked to the counter, where an employee was making other bagels as carelessly and sloppily as possible. They took the bacon wadded up and threw it on the bagel, like they were ready to get out of there and leave. They smushed the bagel and threw it on the counter for a customer. It took several more minutes to be greeted, and once I was, I asked what the cream cheese selection was. He suggested I read the menu because it was written there. I told him I did not see it and he pointed at the menu and said, "Can you read that?" I placed my order and waited to pay. A few minutes after I paid, the employee came, threw my three bagels on the counter, said nothing to me, and walked away. I reached across the counter to grab the bag and left. Each employee acted as if it was an inconvenience to help me at all and I will never be going back. Go to Big Apple Bagels instead. Brueggers bagels are the best you can find in the midwest! Their lox (smoked salmon) sandwich is my fav, they even have capers! Often the bagels are still warm so lucious of course but they even freeze well for that special Sunday brunch or a quick dinner with sandwiches from left over chicken. The staff are always helpful and accommodating. If wishes were horses I would connect a Big Bs coffee bistro to them, Super Bs? Boy do I really miss them during the Covid crisis! I really hope our Bruegger East Lansing team can make it till Dec?? Yikes. I wish them all the best and really hope the restaurant survives and especially they are all healthy. The food is good. However, this one server is SO rude to me. Every time I go, she is so rude and nasty and never smiles or gives even decent customer service. Today when I went I didn't know where my food was and so she shouted at me that it was on a table that I couldn't see from where I was standing. I love their bagels here! I always get the turkey chipolte club on an asiago parm bagel minus tomato add provelone! Its a little pricey, but most places are in a college town. They get pretty packed between 9am-12pm so I suggest going before or after those times. The staff is really friendly. Only reason for 4 stars is that the tables are often left dirty. This could just be due to how busy they get and dont have time to wipe down tables in order to help customers faster. Oh and i wish they delivered! read more

the food is a solid 5 stars. However, today on April 25th at 12:00pm at the bruegger's bagels in Downtown East Lansing Michigan. i was treated very poorly by a young women. My friend was waiting for her order and we saw that this employee was possibly carrying her order. The table to place the order was a little further away from us so we thought it would be helpful and faster for HER to ask if it's my friends order so she didn't have to walk all the way to the table and she could just quickly hand it over to us. But midway through my sentence of asking "is that for her?because-" she rudely interrupted and commented "i don't have time to read the freakin orders. i'm just trying to make the food and set it down so don't ask" and gave me a rude look and walked away.
