They can't seem to open on time. I've been twice now around 7:30am and nobody is there. The barista at the coffee stand next to this place confirms it's a regular occurrence. I don't need much from a breakfast bagel shop, but I do need them to be open when they say they're gonna open. Yummy bagels ordered via DoorDash, I ordered the night before so they would be delivered to my hotel room right when waking up. Ordered the Cosa Nostra salmon and the Godfather which were both very delicious. One came hot and the other came cold just how I ordered them. If you're confused about where exactly this is located, it's inside the Capital City Market. I was hungry after working an overnight shift and this was the first place that came up when I looked up bagel on Yelp. When it comes to bagels I have pretty high expectations since I think NY/NJ bagels are the best. I got the bada bing sandwich (chorizo, egg, bacon, tomato, avocado) on a jalepeño bagel which honestly was pretty good. The chorizo definitely is what made the sandwich really good. I'm pretty bummed because I've read great things about this place. But sadly I didn't feel it was worth the time. We ordered 3 bagel sandwiches and a vanilla latte on our way to Lansing, about 40 minutes in advance (scheduled order said ready by 10:30). Unfortunately, once we arrived at 10:15 we had to wait an additional hour for the order to be ready. This happens at popular places I just wish we would have known and would have ordered farther in advance! If it was an exceptional bagel, then it's worth waiting! But sadly it was very mediocre and honestly would recommend going to a Brueggers bagels or Panera for your bagel fix because you'll get the same time thing but not have to wait an hour. To top it off, the coffee I ordered was just a can, which I can buy at Trader Joe's. Feedback for restaurant: Put the expected wait time on the website when people are ordering in advance! Also, please don't use styrofoam because it's bad for the environment. Only reason I went here is because my normal bagel place is closed this week to let their entire staff off for the 4th holiday, which I'm fine about. I wanted a dozen bagels and some cream cheese. Simple right? As this is in the grocery store, my expectations were a bit low, so I asked - "Are the bagels baked here? Not from your other location in East Lansing?" I was told yes. The *only* way they could be cold is if they were baked YESTERDAY. I was craving a lox bagel sandwich and came across Goodfella's Bagels on Yelp. Placed a Grubhub order for a Cosa Nostra on an everything bagel and the house fries and was on my way. When I arrived they were pretty busy, but my food came out hot and smelled delicious! The bagel was a little over cooked but it all tasted delicious! One star, for many reasons. The bagels sandwiches are subpar at best. The bagels themselves are dry, dense and stale, every single time. More importantly, the last few times I've stopped in there, the owner, Adrian, has had a serious attitude problem. You can sense his ego from a mile away. I also witnessed him treating one of his employees poorly, which is extremely disappointing. I used to really love this place, so it's a bummer. Do better. read more

I'm really surprised this isn't on Yelp yet! We've been searching for a good bagel place since moving to Lansing a year ago. This place checks a lot of the boxes. Chewy bagels, fun sandwiches, and unique cream cheese flavors. Definitely recommended! Only complaints are that they aren't open on Sundays and they have limited selections. Also, their online menu leaves out some info (like what all their cream cheese flavors are), and they don't have iced coffee. I'm sure they'll get there! read more

I've been eager to try Goodfella's Bagels for a while and finally got a chance today. I ordered through the online Door-dash platform and it was a pretty smooth process with just one minor hiccup. I indicated on the Door-dash platform that I'd like them to contact me if an item I ordered was out of stock rather than automatically choosing a substitute, but instead I got an email telling me the sandwich I ordered was out of stock but it was replaced with the same sandwich (?), which was confusing. I immediately called the shop to get clarification and their customer service was excellent. The gentleman I spoke with was able to explain that the bagel type I selected was out of stock and helped me to select a different kind. I had the Sonny sandwich on an everything bagel and it may have been the best bagel sandwich I have ever had. I loved that the flavors all complimented one another and I was especially pleased with the quality of the ingredients. The spinach was fresh, the bagel was fresh, and the sausage wasn't at all greasy. I couldn't really see or taste the brown sugar in the cream cheese, but it did have a subtle sweetness to it which I liked. The egg wasn't runny, but it could have been because it was sitting a while before I picked it up. (It was ready well before the estimated wait time on Door-dash) I'm looking forward to trying the lox bagel next time and definitely recommend checking this spot out! read more

I am staying at the hotel in downtown East Lansing and went to grab a bagel and lox sandwich. The inside of this place is pretty unimpressive. And the bagel was pretty bad. I expected a place that has bagels in its name to have baskets of fresh bagels. There were none visible and the bagel I had was rubbery and tasted as if it came from Krogers. Bruegger's on Grand River is far better, and if you go to Detroit, you can get a first-rate bagel from New York Bagel or Jersey Bagels. Even the real Goodfella's would give the bagel a thumbs down. There's no order to this place. When I walked up there was a line which should be a good sign right? Wrong! Half of the line was composed of people that were waiting to order, the other half had ordered online and were coming to pick up. I felt terrible for the people who had ordered online only to be told there food would still be another 20-30 minutes. Then there were people like me. I was told that they wouldn't even be able to take my order for another 10-15 minutes. With all that commotion amongst potential customers you would think it would put a little pep in the staff's steps.... Absolutely not...
