I like their selection of bagels. They have so many different flavors compared to other bagel shops. The service is not always quick and inconsistent. When I came in on Monday morning a lot of the bagels were gone and it would have been a 40 minute wait for new batch. Best to get the app as they do have special deals on certain days for bagels. And it cost over $21 for 3 bagels with cream cheese and a small bottle of OJ and the staff weren't friendly. The prices alone are just ridiculous. As a transplant from the east coast (NY) to the west coast, I have been truly amazed at the food I have been fortunate to have while here. Overall I'd have to say my eating experiences have been fantastic on the west coast. I even dare to say, much to my friends and families chagrin back home that I had the best pizza I've ever had while in California. This context is important because of what I'm about to say next. This bagel place is an atrocity. Borderline inedible, shockingly abysmal and a true disrespect to the art of the bagel and the breakfast sandwich. The hash brown was reprehensible and after eating this, I'm genuinely considering moving back to east coast. Great location since it's by the airport and if you want a quick breakfast option this is the place to come. I've always been a fan of this chain because who doesn't love bagels and cream cheese! Overall a great spot for a quick meal! I checked this place out right by my workplace for lunch and noticed it was quite empty an hour before closing. This means that the staff was very quick to help me out. I ordered a Jalapeño bagel toasted with cream cheese and it came out in a few minutes. I thought the staff was very friendly!! The bagel itself was very nice and crunchy, and the right amount of thinness that reminded me of a New York bagel. The flavor was great too, with the right amount of cream cheese. I visited Bruegger's Bagels for the first time, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The issues began right at the register. I was standing in line to order three coffees, and the cashier completely skipped over me and started helping the customer behind me. That alone made me feel unimportant and completely overlooked. When I spoke up and said I was ready to order, I asked for three regular coffees--just like their signage advertises. Instead of acknowledging that, the cashier gave me attitude and said, "So you want medium?" I was genuinely confused, since I was using the term regular exactly as it was displayed. Her tone felt dismissive and unnecessary. Once I got the drinks, I asked which one was chocolate, vanilla, and caramel, and her response was simply, "I don't know... all three are here." No effort to clarify or help. The whole interaction felt rushed, careless, and unprofessional. This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. Based on this experience and reading other reviews, it seems like poor service is a recurring issue here. Definitely not worth the trip and the food is nothing to brag about. read more

NOT THE FRIENDLIEST OF PEOPLE! I was waiting on a flight to come in and needed to use the bathroom and grab something to eat. Originally I saw Starbucks but when i pulled up in the parking lot I saw this place. And as i am not a fan of Starbucks I thought I'd try this place. I was starving. And not being familiar with the menu, (or that i was even at a bagel place.. i asked if i could have a few minutes and use the bathroom first) The lady rudely said the bathrooms are for customers only. And I said i was getting a bagel, just not sure what kind. She just spoke under her breath and ignored my request, so i just said give me an EVERYTHING bagel and cream cheese. But then i see eggs. And that sounded good. But i just couldn't think because after 2 hours in traffic, i was just floating! So i just got the bagel, paid for it and asked for the key. Which they handed me the key on a ladle. Their was no hand sanitizer, so..ewww. Thankfully i had sanitizer in my purse, which i sprayed on my hands after dropping the gross key off and before taking my bag. I was going to sit inside but was irritated at the rudeness of these ladies so I took my bagel in my car while i waited for the phone call that my daughters flight had arrived. Now, the ONLY reason I'm giving a 3 star is that the bagel was actually delicious! I really wish they would have given me the opportunity to look more over the menu as the egg sandwiches did look scrumptious. I guess these are supposed to be a NY bagel. I have never understood people's obsession with a good bagel, but now I know that a "bagel is bagel" is not necessarily the case. I will never come back to THIS location and don't recommend it all! But i think the brand seems to be a pretty great bagel. Now if only the franchise would train their employees to not be so damn rude. After all... this isn't NY! The bagels are as close to a real bagel as you can get in California, but the employees are like a gang of mean girls that definitely rule the place and strut like peacocks with attitude, as though they can do anything they want. THE LACK OF FOOD SAFETY AND HYGEINE IS THE ISSUE FOR ME! They do not use thongs to retrieve the bagels. They typically use one glove but to put on the one glove they have already touched the glove with their hands just to put it on, and it's a huge waste of plastic for nothing! Last visit I saw a woman taking her bare hand and filling up a large plastic bag with 10-15 bagels and just reaching in each basket and touching all the bagels. I was told she was taking them home...I guess they were an end of day bonus since they were about to close...and I've no issue with food being used rather than going to waste, but it was so gross watching her reach into each basket and just grabbing at all the bagels with her bare hand...I was just in disbelief...are we in a third world country? Also, I don't let the staff cut my bagel or toast it...as the bagel will be under-toasted or over-toasted, and oftentimes the knife will be cross contaminated with meat or other products I don't eat...so I take the bagel to go. They also seem to have difficulty cutting the bagel down the middle evenly. The Bruegger's Bagel staff, each time they bag my whole bagel they hand me the paper bag wide open and I have to fold the paper bag over myself, to close it up, as they can't even be bothered to do that for me. As if I want my bagel flying out of the bag while driving. I don't visit often because of the atmosphere and staff being abrasive and it is not just this location with these issues, it's all the locations in Orange County. They are just not warm and friendly...at least in a third world, they would be friendly! Last visit June 2024! read more

We ordered the western without chipotle sauce sub plain cream cheese and a honey sriracha sunrise. Both bagels were extremely over toasted which made them hard as a rock both myself and my fiancé took one bite and that was it. They still put the chipotle sauce on the western and the honey sriracha sunrise did not have the "honey sriracha cream cheese." The cheddar on both bagels was crunchy crispy instead of slightly melted. Todays order was absolutely horrible. I rarely do reviews unless service and food are amazing or absolutely terrible. This was the third time in a row our orders were wrong and inedible so I felt it necessary to share. This location is falling apart, or maybe since it was close to closing time today they didn't care to pay attention to the details. The prices are high, but happy to pay if my order is correct. THIS PLACE IS A RIPOFF CHOOSE ANYWHERE ELSE. This morning I went to get a bagel with my favorite coffee from BLK DOT (highly recommend) and was a bit thrown off when I first walked in the store and saw the bagels had massive holes in them. Any real bagel eater knows this is a red flag. I order my two bagels with cream cheese not looking at the price and see the worker chose bagels that had decent size to them out of the bunch, still looked like shit but besides the main point. The worker mumbled something and I said I didn't want anything else assuming she was asking me for something else. I go to pay with Apple Pay and didn't see the price thinking how expensive can a small bagel with some spread be. Turns out it's $11?!?!? Insanity. Ok, well maybe it's worth it. We get our bagels and go to eat them at our table, and get spread that is barely a cm thick on only 1 side. I opened up the other side of the bagel as it's cut in half, and see it's the same same issue. I look at my girlfriend's bagels. Well same problem there very minimal cream cheese on a super thin bagel. I might as well make it work and just asked for a little extra cream cheese spread. As I asked, the worker gives me an annoyed look and fills up a tiny little container for cream cheese. Before she walks to the register and I ask does this cost extra? She goes yes, I show her my bagel after declining to purchase the extra cream cheese for three dollars. I say is this normal showing her the minimal amount of spread and shitty preparation of this bagel that I paid $11 for two of them. The worker says yes, is a standard. I say whatever. Terrible restaurant terrible food terrible service don't ever come here absolutely worst experience I've ever had getting a bagel in the morning. Please close down so another restaurant can provide better food in your location or fix your restaurant. read more
