Everything bagel w/ dairy free cream cheese
    Will P.

Have been wanting to stop by for a while and got the chance to come in today. The line is usually super long but I came in on a day where it was wasn't too bad. The everything bagels were great! I loved the everything bagel w/ cream cheese but was not a fan of the dairy free/vegan cream cheese at all. It was almost a nutty, chipotle flavor which did not mesh with the bagels. I know dairy free cream cheese can be tough sometimes but the flavor profile really was not it. We'll be back but will not be getting the dairy free cream cheese next time

This was my first visit and the food was delicious! There was a line and the wait was about 15-20 minutes; however, the food was absolutely worth it. I ordered the MF sandwich and the heirloom on a white cheddar jalapeño bagel topped with chive cream cheese. Everything was fresh, high quality, and the flavors were magnificent. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was perfectly sweet, and the outdoor seating area was plentiful and inviting. My only wish is that the customer service had been a bit more welcoming. Since it was my first visit, I would have appreciated not feeling rushed and being offered a few recommendations. Overall though, the food and atmosphere definitely made for a great experience.

I have been here twice now and am a big fan. The bagels are sourdough-based, which gives them a unique flavor and texture that is perfect for bagel sandwiches. I love their Dodger and its sandwich counter part, both of which use smoked salmon instead of the more common lox. The only complaint is that they run out of the more popular bagels quickly, and do not allow any substitutions whatsoever on their bagels (it would be lovely to try a different cream cheese on one of the sandwiches, for instance).

Their bagels are chewy & fresh! I tried two of their sandwiches. Keep in mind they don't allow substitutions here. The New Yorker was definitely on the heavy side. The thick cut bacon was salty but delicious. The Santa Monica was light in comparison. I loved the scallion cream cheese but I wish they added more. That's just my personal preference. The service was friendly. The lines can get long so be prepared to wait especially if you visit on a weekend. Their prices are a bit steep. We spent around $35 after tax for two bagel sandwiches alone. They were very tasty though.

Came here on a Friday morning, line wasn't long and service was quick! There's plenty of parking, and comfortable seating outside. When you do sit down, someone brings you your meal and the gal who did was just so incredibly nice and bubbly. Now moving on to our orders.. Simple Sam- butter/flaky salt and we made for the strawberry jam-delish!! The O.G- longanisa sausage (enough said) on a cacio e Pepe bagel The M. F. - egg, maple sausage ( that aioli sauce )- white cheddar jalapeno bagel (a must!) I loved watching how they shaped the bagels, you know a lot of love and care goes into each open faced/sandwich bagel made. We also ordered the matcha drink (not sweetened but added honey) and the horchata cold brew which hit the spot. We loved this cozy spot and looking forward to coming back. Gotta add that I ate half of my bagel and reheated it the next day.. still tasted just as fresh as it did the day before.

The bagels are absolutely packed and has so much flavor in each bite. We've been going back every week since finding this place We got the Santa Monica and New Yorker. I usually love a refreshing bagel sandwich with lox but the New Yorker was soo good! They made it perfectly: huge, fluffy egg and a thick cut of bacon. The Santa Monica is refreshing with a squeeze of lemon and has lots of fresh veggies/pickles. There's seating outside and a water station

If you're craving bagels this spot is for you! Their bagels are made with sourdough, seasoned perfectly, fresh & flavorful. We went on a Saturday morning so there was a long line but our bagel came out very quick! The staff is friendly & helpful as well.

Went on a Sunday morning and the line was long and out the door! It was about a 25 minute wait to order and our food was out in 10 minutes. But worth the wait! I got to try the Santa Monica, the OG, and the New Yorker, each of them very different yummy flavors. The Santa Monica seemed like a socal twist on the iconic east coast lox bagel. I thought the cucumbers didnt contribute much to the flavor but the pickled onions were delicious, sweet and sour. This might be a personal preference but I wish there was more cream cheese on this bagel as well. The OG was simple yet flavorful! The sausage was a good level of peppery and the cheese and egg cooked nicely. The New Yorker was fatty and very juicy because of the ham. Definitely a filling and flavorful bagel. Across all bagels I wish that the bagel bread itself was less dense. I tried the everything bagel and fresno bagel and both were thick and a bit dense, def wish they were fluffier and lighter. Overall solid spot for bagels in socal! Beware of the lines and wait times on weekends. I definitely want to come back to try more of the menu!

Came here over the weekend, and can definitely report back that this is one of the spots you'd go to after a workout for a nice filling bite. The line isn't super long, but the wait is long, especially on a weekend at 11am. We waited about 45 minutes before we got to the front to order. I kinda wish they had a menu for you to look at while you waited, so that you knew what to order when you got to the front. I got the fully loaded lox open faced bagel, with the everything bagel and an iced tea. It came out to around ~$25 for the entire thing, which seems steep, but then you see how loaded the bagel is and it makes sense. They don't really have an indoor eating space, but they have a small beautiful patio with self-serve water. After ordering, they give you a number and a team member brings out the food to you. Food came out super quick, maybe within 5-10 minutes. The bagel itself was delicious! When they said loaded, they mean it. It came with smoked salmon, cucumbers, capers, sprouts (like microgreens stuff), dill, and pickled red onions. Everything was stacked on there like a mountain, and yes, it did taste amazing. I was able to finish half of my bagel, and ended up taking the other half home for later, which after sitting in my fridge for a few hours, still tasted great! For it being in Costa Mesa, parking actually wasn't an issue, and it was super easy to find a spot in the shared parking lot. The line did look like it died down around 1pm, so if you don't want to wait, I'd recommend coming around that time!

Ehhhhhh My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast because it's close to my work but I wasn't too impressed. I love a good bagel but was kinda let down and ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!! We got the heirloom and for almost 15 dollars - I wouldn't get it again. I LOVED the fresh heirloom tomatoes but that was the only redeeming quality. The bagel itself was mid.

Their bagels are so good! I like that you can see them bein made too! I got the Santa Monica and my friend opted for the New Yorker. We also got iced coffee and orange juice. The Santa Monica is like a lox bagel, but better! The New Yorker had melted cheese and was delicious too! Both bagel sandwiches were huge and yummy. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and love a good bagel!

    Anna C.

I enjoyed my bagel! The cream cheese was light and the salmon tasted really fresh and tender. With the cucumber, the bagel was quite light and refreshing and didn't feel too heavy at all. The bagel itself was also fresh and fluffy, what you would expect from an everything bagel. As for seating, they have a nice outdoor seating spot good for hanging out with friends or doing some studying with a self serve water station. Overall it's a solid spot if you're in the mood for a bagel sandwich but nothing really wowed me here, considering the prices too.

Their menu says that they decline modifications - does that mean you can't ask for something to not be included in the order?

pretty sure it means that you cant ask for sausage instead of bacon on the sandwich. or at least i think!!!

If I place my order online, where do I go to pick up at the counter so that someone will hand me my order?

Pick up is at the same cashier. I have walked directly to the cashier (essentially skipping anyone in line) and gotten my order in about 30 seconds.

Do you guys serve GF bagels?

    No, not yet.

Do they sell bagels alone, by the dozen? (No CC, not sandwiches)

Yes! They sell just bagels. But I highly recommend their Cream cheese you can get a tub. Its very good!

What I Love: * Unique Flavors: The food tastes great and they have some really unique touches. I love that they serve raspberry jam with their toast--it's a nice change from the standard grape or strawberry. * Homemade Quality: It's really cool that they do their own house-made potatoes and even their own homemade ketchup. You can tell they put effort into the details. The Drawbacks: * Pricing & Fees: I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could, but I'm sticking with 4 because it's definitely on the pricey side. What really bugs me is seeing a mandatory tip/service charge for certain group sizes on the receipt. Between the expensive menu and the fact that they are constantly busy with plenty of business, it feels like price gouging. * Parking: The parking lot is very small, so be prepared for a bit of a struggle to find a spot, especially since they are always packed. Final Thoughts: The food and unique house-made items keep me coming back, but be prepared for a high bill and a tight parking situation.

We ordered the combo kabob plate, the Bayshore pizza, and finished with baklava. The combo plate was much larger in person than expected and could easily feed two people, but we were hungry and wanted to try the pizza as well. The meats were seasoned very well and extremely juicy. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the beef kabob was soft enough to almost melt in your mouth. The Bayshore pizza was more of a pan-style pizza with a unique cheese blend instead of traditional mozzarella. Make sure to ask for the pizza dip too, it has a tangy flavor that pairs really well with it. The warm baklava filled with pistachios was a great dessert to finish the meal. Service was friendly throughout the visit, and I appreciated that the restaurant cooks without seed oils because the meal did not feel overly heavy afterward. The interior is upscale and cozy with fresh flowers on each table, and the atmosphere feels great for both casual dinners and events. They also offer catering and private parties, which made me consider coming back for a graduation event in the future. The kabobs are definitely the highlight and are worth trying.

It's clearly marinated with care and grilled to juicy perfection. Every bite was moist, aromatic, and beautifully seasoned all the way through. The beef kabob was just as impressive--rich, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth tender with that perfect char from the grill. You could really taste the quality of the meat and the balance of spices without anything being overpowering. The saffron rice was fluffy and aromatic. It also comes with a mixed salad. Not the usual balsamic dressing but a creamy herb infused dressing coating every leaf. Together, these kabobs were a knockout: bold flavors, perfect texture, and cooked exactly right. If you're looking for kabobs that are juicy, flavorful, and truly satisfying, this is the place. I'd come back for these alone. I forgot to mention they are dog friendly on the patio. And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.
