The burgers were OK. The fried zucchini was less than OK. The breading was fine the zucchini was mushy. It is the reason I go to CJs. Also when I used the men's room the urinal was broken. Only stopped here for the Green Burrito bean and cheese with hot sauce burrito because my wifey has always raves about it from her time in CA. I'm a die hard Del Taco fan whenever going back to CA but I had to do the right thing and try the Green Burrito for her even though we were on the way to the closest Del Taco from John Wayne Airport on our way home out of state. One last ritual stop at Del Taco before going home wasn't in the cards today. Disappointing to say the least but I got through the whole pinto bean, cheese, and mild hot sauce disaster as lovingly as I could. I've only done drive-tru and every time I've had a great experience. The staff is friendly and always offer extra condiments (nowadays seems like you have to ask) at the window. Gosh this place was a huge let down. After seeing the raunchy commercials I expected something of a fireworks going off. Not so much. Their burgers are quite comparable to BK but on the weaker end. I was sick of Carl's Jr since I come here a lot so I ordered steak nachos from Green Burrito. These are the worst nachos ever. They were almost $10 for nachos that have hard chips, meat, beans, dry raw tomatoes (didn't know dry was possible with raw tomato until today), very little cheese, a sprinkling of sour cream, a small side of guacamole, and 2 sauce packets of Cholula. Hard to eat with HARD being the operative word; chips were so hard they cut the roof of my mouth. The ingredients literally fell everywhere because there was not enough moisture to keep it together on the chip. Let Green Burrito die before it drags your Carl's Jr brand in the mud. The chicken is perfectly breaded and crisp, accompanied by a light spread of mayo (I usually don't like mayo but somehow with fried chicken and bread it is perfect) and a crunchy leaf of iceberg lettuce. -Oh and their vanilla milkshakes are yum! Verdict: I paid less than $3.50 for a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Fried Zucchini, which took care of my needs for starches (buns!), protein (chicken!), veggies (zucchini!) and fat (breaded stuff!). Being a burger afficionado, my curiosity got the better of me and I had to try the recently hyped Carl's Jr. all natural burger which is touted as a burger that has no antiobitics, no steroids, no added hormones from grass fed, free range cattle which beef is imported from Australia. This place gets the Academy Award for the best Carl's Jr EVERR. The service here is impeccable. They greet you when you come inside with a smile and are always so accommodating. When they bring your food to your table, they are happy to bring extra sauce or whatever you need. They also have TVs that you can watch while you wait for your food. The whole feeling of this place is like a diner. There are a lot of corporate business people that come here so I think they close early on Sunday. I don't know if it's the magic of this place, but the food tastes better than any other Carl's Jrs. Except they don't mess up on your order here. And they also say bye to you when you leave. They sure can take your order fast. But then it's 10-15 min for your food. Heaven help you if your order is wrong. Then you have to try to get someone to look up and respond. I hope you have your receipt, because they are going to quiz you about what you ordered and asked for. If it's not what's on the receipt be prepared to be disappointed. The customer isn't right here, it's about what you "ordered". Let's not talk about the fact that they can't take the order right I the first place. Once was a problem. Twice is a pattern. Went to go have lunch with my mom this afternoon. She only gets an hour...and she happened to have coupons of Carl's Jr. This is the closest Carl's to her work, so we stopped here. This is by far the nicest and cleanest Carl's Jr I have ever been to! Most Carl's are a little run down, but this one looks either brand new or newly renovated. And the food was decent too! This place is worthy of the 5 star rating due to the fact that they also had Diet Dr Pepper...I mean, how rare is it to find Diet Dr Pepper at a fast food place or a restaurant in general?!
