6-1-2025: This place was busy and for very good reason. The service was excellent, all the staff were helpful and friendly. It was a well stocked and clean spot. We ordered their breakfast bagel, and the bagels themselves made the whole sandwich. So delicious. Would absolutely come back whenever we are in the area!
This is an Irvine Icon and legendary among foodies everywhere. These guys do such an incredible job and deserve all the praise we give them. If you are new to Irvine, or East Coast Bagels, then heed my advice: get there early. When they close at 2:00 pm, there is nothing left. The good stuff is gone by 12:30 p.m. Enjoy. OBTW: Michele star for their Bagels and Lox, on everything bagels.
Still love this bagel shop all these years later! East Coast Bagels makes Bagels as they should be with the soft fluffy inside and good bite to the outside! They have a large variety of flavors and even still carry flavors that other bagel stores 'did away with' during the pandemic like: sourdough, salt, bialy.... They also have tons of delicious sandwiches. You can eat inside but as it's always crowded so not the best ambiance I just get the bagels to go. Be prepared to wait! Since they're so good they are still super popular and there's ALWAYS a line but good things are worth waiting for!

Wow.. this place is not only affordable but also has amazing bagels! I came here around 11 am, and there was a line but it moved fast. I decided to get a Lox Bagel for less than $10. For the bagel, I chose to get the jalapeño cheddar bagel. Usually when I get jalapeño cheddar at other places, the bagels are usually bland or lacking that spice. However, this one was cheesy and it had the spice you want from a jalapeño. The sandwich was nicely toasted and warm, with the bagel still chewy and the spread and lox filling at the right temperature. They have a wide selection of bagels (both savory and sweet) and spreads that you can purchase to go. I'll definitely be back!

I suggest coming early in the morning shortly after they open, as the line goes out the door at times, but it is also worth staying in line if you have time. Favorites bagels are the scored garlic bagel and the pizza bagel. Favorite sandwiches are the East Coast (eggs and cheese + bagel of your choice) and pizza bagel (cheese and pepperoni + bagel of your choice). The shop has a lot of seating and there are also seats outside. Service is always excellent and I've never had problems with my orders all these years. Definitely recommend coming here and taking many home. Their coffee and espressos are great as well.
One of my favorite bagel spots! The bagels are always perfectly chewy and soft. Satisfying bites till the end. There's a line around opening time at 6am so you know it's good. Some seating indoors which is nice for eating the bagels fresh. Highly recommend the east coast bagel sandwich for under $6. Reuben also super solid! Personally not a fan of the spicy deluxe bc of the bell peppers and pizza hot bagel but that is a personal opinion!
As a transplant from Brooklyn this the only place I go for bagels willingly without taking a plane flight. The core staff has been the same guys for as long as I can remember, and they never disappoint. Even if it's busy the interior is very chill, you can still hear your number being called and finish your meal without any hassle for space. The line is out the door more often than not, but the staff powers through it like a machine. On occasion people with a lack of self preservation take the line straight into the parking lot instead of curving down the sidewalk, but I suppose we're all lacking varying amounts of common sense before breakfast.

Lots of cream cheese flavors and they have to go containers of cream cheese too. It's a little small inside, but gives off east coast small bakery energy and everyone was happy packed in with the bagels. Honestly I was most impressed with the costs being very reasonable, service was super quick, and everything was delicious!
Best Bagel in Town! Hands Down! The texture honestly surprised me, it really reminds me of NYC bagels. It's not as fluffy, but it's perfectly chewy, and the ingredients inside taste so fresh. My favorite part? You can grab fresh bagels to go along with your favorite cream cheese! The workers even handed me a bagel fresh out of the batch, you just have to ask. Best service ever! It's super kid-friendly with tons of seating both inside and outside. I came on a Saturday at 10:45 AM and got through the line pretty quickly. The bagel sandwiches are amazing, if you're a cream cheese lover, you can add it right into your sandwich. I loved mine with egg and cheese, and I can't wait to come back! read more
Couple things, this is what I would imagine bagel shops on the east coast operates. You walk in and it's a line next to a bunch of tables cramped and it smells amazing AND you can't wait to order ALL the bagels because the flavors!!!! BUT I would suggest to get the bagels home and prepare the meal yourself. Because I forgot to ask if the huevos ranchero & cheddar has meat in it and it was loaded with ham. And I had to watch other people get their delicious single bagel first before mine was ready and I was so hungry!!! But I digress. The egg & cheese was good though but cream cheese smear was not enough. Overall super cheap fluffy delicious bagels I would come back for but I'll load the cream cheese me self next time. read more
Tried East Coast Bagel and overall it was just okay for me. I got the jalapeño bagel, but honestly I could barely taste any jalapeño flavor. The workers were very nice and seemed to work really hard, so I definitely appreciated the service. The coffee was also way too sweet for my taste -- I even asked for it less sweet, but it still came out overly sugary. Not a bad spot, but the food and drinks just didn't really stand out to me. read more

I ordered one of the lox bagels (everything bagel) and the west coast bagel (cheesy jalapeño). I really enjoyed the bagels! They were made quick and really delicious. I hate when bagels are too hard and these were made perfectly fresh. The outside was hard but not hard that you can't bite in with ease and the bagel itself is really soft on the inside! The filling for the bagels is also really good. I would recommend!! Even my cat is smelling the bagels hahaha. I also ordered a strawberry banana smoothie. The flavor was good but it was just a bit too watery for my liking. Definitely a great bagel place you should try out that is better than a lot of internet popular/tik tok popular places. read more

Small little spot that has a lot of bagels I never tried like cranberry and spinach parmesan. They have over 20 different sandwiches from tuna melt to pizza bagel to breakfast bagels which there are several different options and of course coffee, teas, smoothies and more. I went with the ranchero egg and cheese with cheddar on a spinach parmesan bagel to go. It smacked. I really enjoyed this bagel. It was juicy. It wasn't dry. It was packed with ingredients. It filled me up and gave me the energy I needed to get my morning started. There's enough seating inside for about 20 people. Pretty small space and pretty basic. Staff was chatty and lively. read more

Honestly theres a few places i make a drive for and this is one of them. I HATE the parking there especially on a Sunday but let me tell you these BAGELS ARE THAT GOOD!! Service id quick and still great quality. It's a small area but you get helped quickly. They're friendly and efficient! You can eat it inside but i prefer the outside seating since its can get packed. read more
East Coast bagel is popular spot and there is usually a line if you go in the mornings. Giving them a three star because although their bagels are tasty, sometimes they look like the first photo and sometimes they look like the second photo. The second time I got the bagel I barely was full because there was such little filling inside the bagel . Both of these bagels I ordered are a spicy deluxe bagel. I'm sure this is not their usual standard but getting the same bagel the second time around, made drastically different was a little sad. Not sure why they are inconsistent with portioning :/ I would like to go again, so hopefully they stay consistent read more

Went in on a Thursday at 11am. Was in and out. Clean. Friendly. Affordable. For the breakfast bagels: 2 egg omelet with choice of veggies Step 1: choose your bagel Step 2: choose your cheese (Swiss or cheddar) I ordered the - Ham egg and cheese on Asiago bagel. - Ranchero (grilled onions, green bell peppers, tomato) on jalapeño cheddar bagel Both breakfast bagel sandwiches were delicious. I love vegetables and loved the crunch and taste they added to the bagel. Would visit again when in the area. read more
The lines are usually long. If you order something simple, like bagels to-go or a simple toasted bagel, you can be in and out quickly. If you order a sandwich, expect to wait a while. The place is small and clean. There were a few small tables outside and 2 small tables outside and a bench. The service is quick. Pay attention to the man calling you up or he'll yell louder. Lol. You tell him your order, then you move down the line to pay. At this station, you repeat your order and also place your coffee order. This is also where you have a chance to grab a drink or chips. Then you walk outside and wait for your number to be called. We waited a while! Maybe 10-15 min. My toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese came out great. The bagel had good chew - as you would expect from a NY bagel. My husband's breakfast sandwich came out wrong. He walked up to the counter and we were afraid it was going to be another 10-15 min to fix it but they were able to fix his order immediately. Good bagels for sure. read more

I just completed a hot yoga class in the morning, and I was looking for a place to grab coffee. I've always seen the place around, and after a recent trip to New York, I couldn't help but be drawn towards a place calling themselves the "East Coast Bagel." The bagels in the east coast are different! Will the same standard be upheld? Upon entering, i got to step into a warm, down to earth atmosphere. The inside seating includes about 5 groups of 3-4 people. There are also outside seating in front of the store and scattered throughout the outdoor plaza. Based on a recommendation and from what I've read on Yelp I got the Lox Garlic Bagel It was Delicious! The salmon was not too salty and the creaminess of the cream cheese richly enveloped my mouth. The capers added a nice pop too. The garlic bagel was chosen because it was a favorite pairing of one of the kind servers there, and I can see why! There always seems to be a line in the morning, yet the service is quick and they put in the effort to ensure Your order is made to your satisfaction. There are a good number of families who also dine here early in the morning. A friend of mine also got a dozen bagels for her sons' swim team. The bagels are much better than Panera's of any fast food chain, so that makes all the difference for me. God bless you all. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I am a baker and I am OBSESSED with this bagel shop. They have the most delicious bagels/ bagel sandwiches I have ever had, plus they are affordable. I've gotten multiple sandwiches in the menu and they all are to die for. They also have such a wide selection of bagels. At times they may have a small line, but the workers provide fast and friendly service! I have never waited a long amount of time for my food. 10/10 recommend. read more
East Coast Bagel is absolutely delicious! The line does get a little crazy after about 10:30 but we managed to order and sit down right before the crowd hit. Fantastic service, delicious food, and great prices! We had a really big order with drinks, to-go bagels, and eggs and all (there were five of us) but everything came out perfect and quickly. Best bagel spot on the west coast. This legit reminds of the bagel joints in New York, kinda like Issa Bagel. They were making fresh bagels in the back, so you know they're all fresh. My wife and I ordered the Parmesan Bagel with Chive Cream Cheese and the Bacon & Egg on Scored Garlic. The service was fast, efficient and the guy who took our order was so kind. Plenty of parking and we got there right before 7AM on a Saturday when there wasn't too many people. The line started forming after us, but even then the ambience was super chill. Make sure you're there early so you can have the entire selection of bagels. read more

Long line, but moved quickly and was served quickly as well. Very reasonable prices and a lot of options to choose from. They had a lot of flavors still in stock even though it was the afternoon when we went. There's some seating inside and some outside as well. It was fairly warm and loud inside, but comfortable to eat in there with a small group. Ordered an East coast bagel sandwich and a bacon and cheddar sandwich which were both delicious! This is my favorite bagel spot in Irvine :) There are so many different flavors to choose from and the staff is friendly and very efficient! The line is pretty long in the mornings but it goes by quickly. I get the scored garlic with lite cream cheese if I'm feeling something savory, or a chocolate chip with strawberry cream cheese if I want something sweet. The bagel sandwiches are also great! read more
Line was long but moved quick! Totally worth the wait. The food is fantastic and there's so many options. I wouldn't stay to eat here u less it was outside just because of how busy the line is it's a bit chaotic, other than that it was amazing! The cream cheese is not vegan. But literally next door there's a restaurant called "The Wheel of life" everything is vegan there. Good luck
