Got takeout and picked up my order for lunch. The herb omelette was so yummy. And even though I don't like kugel that much the potato kugel was delicious would definitely eat that again. Unfortunately the pancakes were not good at all. They had too much baking soda/powder and had a very unpleasant aftertaste. Ambiance inside looked nice and people were friendly. Wish the pancakes didn't disappoint. read more

Loved this place! I got the "Kitchen Sink" eggs, cheddar, bacon, potato pancake on a brioche bun! Best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! Eggs were fluffy! Bacon was crispy and just enough cheese. The brioche bun was amazing, Came with a side salad...this was not just a salad, with all the fixings, not sure what they put on for dressing but it was a damned good proper salad, hate when I get a breakfast sandwich and the eggs are cooked to hell and dry, NOT this place. Kenneth was so nice and attentive. I asked for the potato cake to be put to the side, a fancy hash brown it was so good! Alcohol menu prices are for all day! Best brunch spot near Central Park--hands down! The restaurant was spotless, and the attention to detail was evident, right down to serving my favorite sparkling Saratoga water. Our waiter, Clint, was exceptional--kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. As for the food, it was phenomenal! Came here for brunch on Sunday around noonish and was pleasantly surprised! Service seemed a tad overwhelmed and food definitely took awhile but really enjoyed our food. We got the tomato soup, Santa Fe, Geek and Medi salad and a chicken Caesar sandwich. All incredibly tasty. You will wait a bit but be patient. It's worth it! Will be returning for sure. read more

Unfortunate that our order was mistaken for someone else's, but the servers could easily see we were sitting with nothing to eat or drink for nearly an hour. Even having to ask for our coffee after 1/2 hour didn't do the trick, we had to leave, cannot recommend. read more

I visited and reviewed last year and went back this year. It is still the best breakfast I've ever had in the city. The service is great; we never felt rushed and if you sit outside on a cool morning the ambiance is perfect upper west side. Inside is great if the weather is unfriendly. This place is a wonderful little spot for breakfast or BRUNCH. They have a great counter with fresh baked goods, friendly staff and GREAT music! We opted for the chicken soup, bacon cheeseburger, loaded cruncher Caesar salad, and the best old school tuna salad. The chicken soup is light, fresh and flavorful 10/10 recommend. Bacon Cheeseburger was perfectly cooked (medium) and the bacon was crispy! The burger comes with a slaw and finger fries that were both insanely good. 10/10 Best old school tuna salad... the name says it all! The multigrain bun was good but I feel like it would be better to have a scoop on one of the salads. The sandwich came with a small side salad with ginger vinaigrette that was amazing. 10/10 Loaded Cruncher Caesar Salad had great chicken, bacon, croutons, and cheese. The Caesar salad dressing was light and not very flavorful. I would recommend either getting it on the side or opting for another dressing. We grabbed a chocolate chip cookie on the way out the door and it was soft doughy and loaded with chocolate chips in it and on top. Overall great experience and would highly recommend if you're looking for a place in the upper west side. read more

So I came across Brunch on Door Dash and the menu sounded interesting so I decided to place an order. I also looked at the reviews and they mostly seemed positive. I was in the mood for a salad but not Caesar dressing so I ordered the Caesar salad with the jalapeno bacon (umm yes!) and roasted chicken. The salad came with celery which I thought was odd-couldn't ask them to remove it so I just had to pick through it. I requested caramelized onions in the salad but instead was given maybe a handful if best of red onion in it. (Hence the review not 5 stars). I got ranch dressing instead of the Caesar and it was pretty good, not sure if homemade but good. The salad had a pretty generous amount of chicken and it was seasoned well too. The croutons were homemade which I definitely appreciated. I also was given two small pieces of focaccia with everything seasoning on it as well. I really enjoyed the salad, it was pretty filling and I think I would order from them again-the thanksgiving sandwich looked good as did a few other menu items. read more

Well cooked eggs (we had omelets & over-easy), good toast (ask for butter if you want; it comes dry), fun and tasty potato kugel discs in lieu of hash browns, and colorful little salad cups if you don't want potatoes. Coffee was very good, came in a nice sized attractive mug, and was frequently topped up while we ate by our pleasant and attentive waiter. It's your basic local bar with beer on tap, wine, and cocktails. There's a food menu, I've had the wings before and they were nice and crispy. Weekend Breakfast and Brunch served from 11-4. Best to go during Happy Hour daily from 4-8 for reduced price drinks and beer is only $6. Located in between 33rd and 34th on 2nd Ave. Close to my sons apartment... for some reason, I always find myself here at least once when I'm in town. It's fun, and it's close with a fun vibe.

The inside looked really nice with some nice pictures on the wall and lots of space for seating. They also have a downstairs that has a bar and plenty of seating. We just ordered a few Aperol Spritz and chilled at the bar. The drinks tasted really good. Hard to mess that up but you never know. They had music playing from something in the background which was really good. The bartenders were alway asking if we needed anything so that was good. We didn't order any food but the plates that we saw looked really good. Definitely a place you need to check out if your looking for a cool spot to drink and get some bites to eat. They also have a good happy hour and from the looks of it a nice brunch with bottomless mimosas. Have to come check out this place if your in town or live near the area.

The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying. If you're looking for a no-fuss, traditional deli experience without the wait, Sarge's is a great option.
