Our waitress was awesome. The wait time was a little long but they were busy. The food was warm enough to eat I prefer it to be warmer. Though beyond all that the food was delicious and filling. The gravy on the biscuits was a little on the salty side but still flavorful. The greens gumbo was mouthwatering and praise worthy. The chicken was delectable and fried to perfection. The food is phenomenal and the ambiance is very fitting complete with live music. The only complaint I have is the wait time. Seating was a 50min wait. They open at 10am and I got there at 10:30am for a party of 3 on a Saturday . The food was delicious so the fact that it took time was not a problem at all (if you are very hungry keep that in mind). However, it did take a while to receive drinks from the bar. Overall, I will be back with friends and family to try the rest of the menu. Side note: The chicken wings that come with the jalapeño cornbread waffle is FINGER LICKIN' Good! I didn't look at the dinner menu but I hope those chicken wings are an option. read more

Food was ok but wait time was ridiculous. The waiting area is wasted space where tables should be setup and you wouldn't have 3 hour wait times. Second attempt to eat here and was never told we could do reservations. Found that out when people kept getting seated before us because they had reservations. The waiter was a kid that wasn't professional and when asked for more syrup he laughed and ask are you serious. Then somebody totally different came back to the table and gave ticket. First time here! I've been hearing about this place on Facebook and decided to try out. We were greeted at the door by a very nice host and were seated pretty much immediately. The interior is really nice with an electric vibe of bright colors and lots of lighting. Our server was very polite and even offered for us to ask him about recommendations. Which I did because I couldn't decided between two items on the menu. They had a live DJ playing and there were a good amount of guests already there. I eventually decided on the Sausage Egg and Cheese Sandwich with potatoes on the side and my husband got the Chicken Fried Chicken Breast with Potatoes and Eggs. He also got a coffee and I had a caramel macchiato which was sweet and delicious. The sandwich was so good, probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The scrambled eggs in the sandwich were so creamy and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were flavorful with plenty of seasoning. I tried a bite of my husband's chicken breast and it also very good. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The portions were also pretty great, I only managed to finish half my sandwich because I was stuffed! Our server was very attentive so our water cups were always full. The host shook our hand as we left thanking us for visiting which made us feel very appreciated! My only complaint is that they surprised us with a charge of $5 per person for the DJ. It wasn't that big of an issue for us but it would be good if that was disclosed beforehand as some people may get upset about that. It was ok chicken was cooked in old oild. It took a hour and half to get the food.. order a drink it's was not right. They made another drink still not right drink went back. Bill came out I was charged for drink, I was never told I would be told that I would have to pay for the the drink. Spoke with the manager and she said oh well someone has to pay for it..I try to support black businesses but this is why so many are here today and gone tomorrow. I am sure I'm not the only person this has happened to. I was with friends and family and all started they would never return because of the poor customer service that was giving. Everything went well. We waited no more than 15 minute for a table, and that was with no reservation. Once we were seated, the food ordering was quite fast. No more than 20 minutes - simply because we weren't sure what we wanted. For the appetizers we ordered the avocado toast and the crab cakes. Both were very delicious and a surprisingly good size. The crab cakes tasted fresh, none of that weird frozen crab taste that some places have. The entree was also just as good. Fish and Eggs with grits. Definitely would order again. The oxtails were really good, and so tender. Not other location were you have to naw at the bone to get the meat, lol. Soon as you tried to pick up a piece with the fork with was falling apart. The flavor was also really good and balance. Not over seasoned at all, not under-seasoned. On top of that, they had a very talented Saxophonist playing live music, but entering brought the great ambiance full circle - I did see a few comments mentioning the music was quite loud, but I think it was a decent volume. I'm someone that likes to do my due diligence about a restaurant before I go, so I read quite a few of the reviews on BRB. The reviews had my wife and I excited to visit. She took SO LONG just to bring us 2 mimosa type drinks (room temperature) and 2 glasses of ice water!!! She took so long, another waitress came to take our order.... strike 1. I could see her at the bar and she seemed more interested in laughing and smiling with the employees behind the bar than making us feel valued. After a 40 minute wait, our food arrived. My wife had the sweet potato French toast with eggs on the side. I had the fried chicken wings and waffles with eggs. Our order came... her eggs were scrambled hard as requested.... but room temperature. French toast was this huge end piece of the loaf.... we'll give that a pass. My wings were hot, fried nicely but not much flavor that a sprinkle of salt couldn't fix. My eggs, scrambled soft (requested scrambled hard).... room temperature.... strike 2. It's in its "soft opening" stage so they are still making adjustments but that didn't stop them from performing in every aspect. We were greeted by a guy wearing a suit and a smile. He was courteous and sat us in a timely manner. The atmosphere was like an upscale Vegas style club. The music was nice and at a perfect volume to set a nice vibe and allow me to still talk at the table without having to scream. (I've been to this location when it was the pool hall so the renovations that took place here are phenomenal.). The food and serve were awesome! Server was sweet and attentive. The crab cakes were phenomenal as well as the strawberries and cream pancakes. All of the food was exceptional. The drinks were delicious as well. I'd recommend trying at least once but I probably won't be back due to the price point... I'd rather drive into dallas and dine rooftop for the same price or get the same food quality for half the price at mom and pop places you can find around Forney. The only reason I deduct a star, it's a little pricey for the location and atmosphere. We're in Forney, not Dallas. The table was dirty where I was sat with no elegance at the table. His eggs were not cooked hard enough so he sent them back. They came back cooked to his satisfaction, just missing salt and pepper. I loved everything about it! I was there this past Sunday for a birthday brunch and from the moment we walked in we were sold! The atmosphere is a vibe there is good R&B music playing. We were seated on time and from the moment we were seated we always had someone's attention. The food is excellent I recommend any of the entrees with whole chicken wings. We were a large party so we all had the opportunity to try every item on the brunch menu and I am a fan of everything! It was especially awesome to see the entire family working together and we enjoyed the son waiting on us. This was my 2nd and final time after I said I would not be back after the 1st time. Both times our party of 4 made a reservation at 10:30 am. I arrived at 1030am and we had to sit in their waiting area because NO ONE was being seated at the time. The waiting area had over 15 people who had been waiting sine 10am. It was 11:15 when we were finally seated. 45 minutes later our food came out. The orders were correct and the food was delicious. However, that does not negate the long wait and the screw you attitude. I explained to the gentleman at the desk that we had a 10:30 reservation. ALL HE DID WAS HAVE THIS STUPID LOOKING LOOK ON HIS FACE WITH NO EXPLANATION!!!! I take care of my 92yr old father, my time is not to be wasted. When I'm spending my money ( and mind you these prices are not cheap either. $38.00 for a small portion of oxtails is not cheap to me.) I expect to get what I want and PAY FOR AND NOONE GETS TO WAIST MY TIME .. . Then after the meal was over...I find out they dont take cash. Well I operate on a cash basis because thats the savings plan my family feels is best for us. We dont run up our credit just because its available. This was not listed on the website or the cheap paper menus. Asked for the manager and he explained why. I remember him saying that a lot of their workers are 'young and can't really count change, plus there is an issue of theft. As I explained Thats not my problem...that's something that should have been addressed and taken care of in the planning phase. Not after I have eaten and am ready to leave. Thats your Problem.WTF The 2nd time a reservation was made for a high school reunion at 10:30 again. I arrived only to find out from the 2 ladies at the entrance the there was no reservation made. I was so ready to have an awesome experience. Our waitress Tatum disappeared after taking our order. No one checked on us. Didn't get water refills till it was time to go. For PRICE, we need attention on all details. The food was OK! The crab cakes were more like salmon patties and smelled so much out of a can. No crab meat!! Drinks cost more than the meal. Visited yesterday (Sunday). We did not have reservations, but we were a table of 2. So we were able to be put on the waitlist and the wait wasn't too bad. We were seated at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. I had the catfish and grits special (fried hard) it was PERFECT and well seasoned. The cornbread tasted like cake and wasn't warm unfortunately :(. My partner had the Bread Pudding waffle. I didn't get a pic, but it was good. Basically bread pudding and they waffled it. The syrup set it off!!! We also had the Caliente Mimosa that was good. I've tried multiple menu items and all have been fantastic. The grits are insanely creamy and go well with both the oxtail and the blackened catfish. The drinks are on an elevated level. My favorite is the Reserve 43, definitely as must try. Ambiance is relaxed and colorful, and the service is great.
