Incredibly rude, delivery takes forever. It's fine if you want late night food, but honesty terrible all around.

This is my second review....As a 30-plus year fan of Bruno's I made sure to stop by when I took a small group of high school juniors to Oxford for a college visit. Some weeks later they are still talking about Bruno's and how they hope we'll stop there this fall/winter when we go down for some football/basketball/hockey games. read more

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE! I am very displeased in the way the workers behave. I went in not knowing that eating outside food was not allowed which I thought was absurd and I voiced my opinion while leaving. I handed out my fries to people so I could go back in and told people why I was giving them out and a worker acted like it was funny egging me on to speak louder. After the food was gone I go back in to order the pizza and they said they would not serve me and called the cops saying I was "disturbing peace" which a lady waiting to order said that was incorrect to them and when the cops came they left without arresting me because there accusations were false. The owner Rodger it says he takes pride in his work but if this is what you take pride in that is very upsetting and sad. The employees are not nice at all for a pizza that is very mid as I travel for pizza I know for a fact Dave Portonoy would rate this pizza less than a 5 intact with the service, price, and all together I rate them a 3.6/10. No not every employee is rude but it seemed to be the manager that was the rudest. I don't know what their problem is but they wouldn't serve me and called the cops while every other customer was able to order in the line. The only thing that separates me from the others in line was my race. Not trying to call the whole establishment racist but these are the facts I am stating. Rodger I hope you see this because I want you to know that I will be detracting others from an establishment with unacceptable behavior like this. I'd give zero if I could. Food is good but holy cow the customer service sucks. The workers take your order then do not serve you what you ordered. I got over charged more than $10 and I said that I never received my full order, but the worker claimed that I didn't order all of the items. I said I did order all the items because I was charged for them all and saw them all listed on my receipt that I even tipped on. She said she couldn't find my receipt so there was no way to prove I ordered everything. My receipt should've been on top of pile bc I was one of most recent customers to order at the window. Idiots. Never go to an establishment that makes you pay for food that you don't receive then gaslights you into thinking you didn't order it. Also who hides receipts and plays dumb??? Idiots, I can't believe this happened to me and I hope other Oxford residents never experience this horrible service. It's a scam and disgusting behavior. Yeah this restaurant sucks. Especially for Oxford.... that is hard to do. Multiple times I have order their food for delivery and they have gotten it wrong. I understand if you don't understand the order the first time, but those orders were reordered after they were messed up and done online with EXPLICIT INSTRUCTIONS... called the manager to ask for a credit because they screwed up my order twice and he hung up on me... come on guys.... read more

I'm fairly certain Bruno's is one of those places you'll only like if you've: A) grown up in Oxford B) attended Miami University C) are really drunk, or D) all three. Bruno's is notorious for having stands outside after the bars close in Oxford at 2 am. What's better to sop up all that alcohol than a warm, cheesy slice of greasy goodness? I had Bruno's just yesterday again (no, I was not drunk), but it was still the same as I remember. Chewy, thin crust. Cheese galore. I also tried their Bruno Bites for the first time. Eh, I'll stick with just the pizza. I should also mention that I have never actually eaten in the restaurant itself. We've always picked it up or had it delivered, so I can't judge that experience. Are there better pizza places out there? For sure. But something about Bruno's makes me keep coming back. read more

VIVA LA BRUNOS. Best pizza place in Oxford. Been raised on drunk college student food my whole life and this is top of the list.

Visiting Miami University with my friend and we heard that this was a great place for good cheap pizza. I have never felt the need to review anywhere even if it was bad but our experience was truly horrible. The pizza was for sure a frozen pizza that wasn't even cooked all the way through. It also had no taste whatsoever. I could say the same about the breadsticks. The food was definitely disgusting, but the staff was worse. Our waitress(?) just threw our food at us literally & said no words. It was super awkward and weird. She was also on her phone in the front of the store in front of customers the whole time. Pretty sure this woman was on drugs or something because she did not seem very coherent. Other employees were also playing video games in the front where they check out the customers. If you're thinking about going here, don't. Waste of time, calories, and money. read more

On a college tour and was recommended this place for a quick slice. The employees were rude from the start and had terrible service. The food came out cold and tasted like cardboard. This place is meant for drunk college students but i'm not sure I would be able to bare it even drunk. Not worth the money and not worth your time. read more

The news flash that some people don't seem to get is: THIS IS PIZZA FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS. Leave your gourmet tastes back in the big city, and just enjoy this place for what it is - very serviceable sustenance at low cost. Don't come for high-brow, exotic flavors nor being waited on hand and foot. I wish I could give this place negative stars. The service they provided to me recently was abhorrent. We ordered a large pizza, it looked a lot like a medium, and by some standards maybe even a small. The guy that made it said the dough was cold, so it didn't get as big as it was supposed to. We wanted a new pizza or to be charged for the medium price. The employees told us they couldn't do anything for us until a manager got there, which would be in about 10 minutes. Alright, fair enough. We stood and waited, and while we were standing there waiting, about 2 feet from us behind the glass where the pizza boy was cooking other pizzas, we could hear him and others saying HORRIBLE things about us. Finally the manager comes back, he tells us it looks like a medium, and gives us back one whole dollar, because the difference in price between a medium and large is only a dollar... A large is 14 inches, a medium is 12 inches, apparently. We got home and measured an 11 inch pizza. Unless you are so drunk that you won't remember anything the next day, I would not suggest going here. And maybe if you are drunk you won't want to go here, because I can't imagine this pizza tastes very good coming back up... It tasted like shit going down.. read more

Bruno's is not the home of happy memories. Bruno's is the home of heartburn. It is the home of pizza topped with grease and tears. I suppose it is a destination for late-night frolickers, but only for said frolickers who have completely given up any hope of having a good night. Started eating Pizza from Bruno's 30 years ago. Still tastes great. They will make it just the way I ask. Extra crispy with extra cheese. Delivery has always been in the time they specified. Gets here early most of the time. I'm keen on salads and have always been impressed that theirs are fresh and crisp, I have eaten hundreds by now and never had one that was not perfect. The veggies on the pizza and salads are always fresh. I don't drink so I can't answer for how it tastes to drinkers. I like mine sober. Burgers are good and onion rings are quite tasty. Bruno dough tastes great to be sure. But I prefer the pizza. Try the chicken italiano, it's great if you are trying to eat healthy. I have it once a long while.:) read more

The people here are so beyond rude. Yes, it's a college town but they don't take their actual customers seriously. They just assume everyone is a drunk college kid. Not only the workers but even the manager/owner-very disrespectful. They are one of the few who do late night delivery in Oxford because it is a small town and they take extremely long. I called an HOUR and HALF after I Placed my order to ask the status and they were livid that I even called. Ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza online, expected wait time was 30-45 min. We waited. And waited. Finally called and a gal told us it was on the way. In fact it still took 20 min to arrive when the restaurant is a mere 4 min drive. After over an hour and a half the pizza finally arrives and my dreams are crushed- small, pitiful, stale-like, would lose in a fight with a below average freezer pizza, never again. read more

I went there last Tuesday and the pizza was great and it took 10 minutes. Then I came back Saturday afternoon order the exact same thing and it took 50 minutes for one medium pepperoni pizza. And I understand I work at a pizza place too but not saying sorry or letting me know about the wait is terrible. The pizza is good but the service was disappointing and frustrated. I had to join up just to share this tale of woe. It's funny now, but at the time I was pretty irate (and still hungry). We took our family to Oxford for a recent hockey game. By the time we got there we were starving. The kids wanted pizza, so Bruno's was the nostalgic choice. My wife and I are both MU grads. Two words: Bloody. Awful. I needed some substance, so I ordered the pizza hoagie. I got ketchup and soggy mushrooms on hard white bread. I asked the waitress if they forgot the hoagie part (the meat), and she said (I quote): "Oh, we don't have meat on the pizza hoagie. Other places have meat on it, but ours is, like, a real pizza hoagie." So I chewed the ketchup and mushrooms off the bread like corn on the cob, then commenced to steal slices of pizza from my children. The waitress was right: The pizza tasted just like the hoagie. My comment to my wife before paying the $45 bill for four people to eat ketchup bread was, "Man, I must have been absolutely wasted every time I ate here. Because I thought it was good." I guess it's good for Bruno's that they have a 4-year customer churn -- and plenty of nearby bars. By the time the students sober up and realize how bad the food is, they graduate. read more

The last few times I ordered a pizza from here they were dry and cold. What was supposed to be a large looked like a medium or even a small on my last order. The staff can be extremely rude and I'd prefer not to deal with them if I can. There was a time when this place was the gold standard for pizzas in Oxford, but the flavor seems a lot different and hardly any care or love is put into the pizza. Heck, I would even recommend Little Caesar's before I recommended this place. I am not sure I will step back into this place again to bother amending this review. They have had a few years to clean up their act and now I think it is time to move on. You are best ordering from the chain restaurants for a full pizza. So I placed an order around 1:20 pm. Called around 2:50 pm to see if I was going to get my food and after calling multiple times, someone finally answered the phone. However, this person was entirely clueless as to what to do and informed me that Bruno's had closed at 2:00 pm. Since my credit card was changed for the order, I figured I would at least get reinbursred for my order. But the employee informed me that such a task would not be possible. So if you want to run the considerable chance of having your money stolen, deal with beyond terrible customer service, and wait a ridiculous amount of time for your food, then I would definitely recommend Bruno's Pizza! read more

Ordered a pizza for delivery from here once. Ordered a pepperoni pizza and some Bruno bites. Took 40 minutes to arrive, pizza had no pepperoni, bruno bites were alright. Even drunk this pizza tasted terrible. Pizza hardly has any flavor, and the crust is chewy. Would have rather saved myself $15 and just gotten a Little Caeser's hot-n-ready and some crazy bread. read more

I frequented Brunos 15-20 years ago when it served large, cheese and pepperoni slices and it was respectable pizza. Nothing fancy, but tasted good nonetheless. Last I was there was five years ago. Same menu, same product. Then I stopped in over the weekend 10/1/16 and it was a nightmare. The service was slow. Everyone who came in after us was getting whole pizzas and sandwiches and were being served and all we ordered was four simple slices. After waiting almost 25 minutes we complained. Out came two small slices of bad pepperoni and we waited for the rest. Five minutes passed and out came the last two with vegetables and meat. It was crap. I get this is a college student pizza joint but no one serving pizza like this needs to be in business. If you made this pizza at home, you'd throw it out. The toppings were not cooked, were room temperature and the pizza crust was so hard and dry I couldn't bite through it. In fact, to show my disgust to the waitress I used the pizza end to rap on the table to show it was hard enough to use as a door stop. Slow service, sub-par serving sizes, really bad pizza. Someone needs to get this business and turn it around and return it to its former state. read more

Growing up in Oxford and graduating from Miami University, Bruno's has always been a part of life. No, its not gourmet pizza and the restaurant is not a sight for sore eyes. Yes, it tastes good, its affordable, and its quick and easy. Its also one of the rare places that you can buy it by the slice. Many years later, I still take my family to get a slice while walking around town.To this day, its not only a good slice of pizza but also a good piece of nostalgia. read more

I am shocked reading the negative reviews on this. Yes the pizza is greasy but damn it is good. Also the Bruno dough is absolute heaven in my opinion, I would love to have the garlic butter and parmesan they put on top as a dip! I also really enjoyed a pizza steak hoagie, though be sure to clarify the steak patty because I got one with the sauce cheese and chosen topping but no patty. Went to Bruno's for the first time with two friends. We'd never been there before and didn't quite understand how it worked. Went up to the window and ordered over $50 worth of food (no one asked if it was for here or to go) and saw there was seating in the back and sat down. We were greeted by a waitress and explained to her we had already ordered up front when she immediately caught a temper saying that wasn't how it worked but just this one time she'd let it slide and proceeded to be rude to us the whole time we were there. I'm aware because we ordered up front she wasn't getting the tips but we had never been here before, no one asked whether it was take out or dine in and the restaurant was practically empty and we weren't taking space from any potential customers she may have had. We sat uncomfortably in the back when we were greeted by someone else telling us we needed to leave because we ordered up front and proceeded to be yelled at when we grabbed our $50 worth of food ordered from your establishment and left feeling uncomfortable and apologizing. This is easily an honest mistake and the fact that we ordered so much only to be treated horribly by the staff for a rule no one informed us of is very disheartening. I'm not a drunk college student, I work at the hospital a block from there and I order it all the time. I'm all about the dough. It's deep-fried and covered in garlic and parmesan. Pizza only had cheese on half of it after my husband asked if they would make sure they covered it to make it look like a normal pizza. I was in Oxford for a weekend conference & didn't have the energy to go out to eat. I should have known better & asked around before ordering from this dump. My group of 8 ordered at 9pm & was told that the food would be there within 30 minutes. An hour and a half later, our food finally arrived. We soon realized that we were missing my lasanga meal - no lasanga, salad, garlic bread, or silverware. We called them back & were told it would be there in 10 minutes. Forty-five minutes later, my lasanga (no salad, garlic bread, or silverware) arrived - cold. Two stars because they didn't charge me for the crap they delivered. Never again. read more
