Free itemized estimate was provided timely that was very important for us to be on schedule. The estimate reflected all jobs to be done with labor and materials separately. In short, we are glad we hired the contractor for the project; everything was completed professionally in less than two weeks; in fact, there was a lot of work to be done in the relatively short time. Some materials used for the project (paint, vinyl for bathroom floors, and carpet) happen to be better quality and more expensive than it was planned with the estimate. However, final cost for the completed project was some less than estimate due to special prices the contractor has as a bulk buyer. We were able to schedule work for that same week. The technician who arrived to do the work was punctual, knowledgeable, and friendly, despite a language barrier. Unfortunately the project turned out to be more difficult than expected, due to issues with our toilet. Andrew returned to the site to manage the situation and give us an updated quote. Had a leaky dishwasher valve in SF. Created a job on Yelp using their new-ish job dispatch flow. All but one plumbing companies refused to give me a quote without first scheduling and making a visit. It's the most common, simplest job: the angle stop on a valve underneath my sink. Why? Because all these plumbers now work with a call center type company somewhere, so that they can snap up the business as soon as a customer has an issue. Two companies came and gave me quotes. In the process I realized I had 3 valves in there I should change that rubber element on. The quotes were ~$850 and $550. Really? I was sure this was a job at most requiring an hour and super standard. This account, or rather Andrew, who responded, did actually give me a quote for the same job right away without wasting my time with a visit: $350. Andrew's friend/colleague Alex came and swapped the angle stops in less than 30 mins. Quite possibly could've gotten this for even less than $100 with a contractor that works for me more often, but I do think you should be safe with this business for a basic plumbing repair in SF. read more

I had a new clothes washer delivered but it couldn't be hooked up because there turned out to be a plywood platform beneath the old washer and the new model was just enough taller that it wouldn't fit under the counter while sitting on top of that base. Andrew sent two guys out to pull out the dryer (which was also sitting on the plywood platform), cut the platform to remove the half on the washer side, and reinstall the washer and dryer.
