My puppy enjoys the puppy sundae!
    Yealim K.

My favorite ice cream shop in Frederick. They also offer puppy sundae for free, which is very nice and I got 2 for togo for my boys. They were even wrapped pretty nicely so I can take it home easily. I always get Mango dragon fruit sorbet which is the best! Also, I got banana pudding and pistachio flavors. I got a large waffle cone with 4 scoops of different flavors, it was sooo big and sooo yummy! The staff was friendly and fast.

This is located in the Crestwood shopping center so there is plenty of free parking in the lot around it. As with all Bruster's locations, there is not inside seating. You can order by either walking up to the side window or through the drive-thru. Their ice cream is the creamy, thick type. They have the traditional flavors and other unique ones. When I went I got a kids cone with a scoop of mint chocolate chip. I thought the ice cream was at the right amount of firmness and creaminess. For a kid cone the amount of ice cream provided was generous. My friends got a dark chocolate kids cone and a two scoop cone one with cheesecake. They said the dark chocolate one was good but the cheesecake flavor one was off and didn't really take like cheesecake. I do appreciate that at least the cones come with a plastic sleeve around it so the employees don't have to touch the cone directly. We placed our order through the drive-thru. The one taking our order was not very good. We had to keep on repeating the order. Make sure to ask for them to repeat the order afterwards because despite repeating the order several times, they still got part of it wrong. Price is one the pricier side but one and a while fresh ice cream is worth it, right?

The ice cream here is incredible. They have very unique flavors and the portions are huge. The price is very reasonable and the ice cream is fresh. Is extremely creamy and flavorful. I absolutely love the pistachio

Extremely good ice cream. My favorite is the black cherry, but I haven't tasted a bad flavor yet.

We intentionally declined dessert at the restaurant with the intention of visiting this cozy ice cream shop. The interior is very small and a line easily forms outside of the front door. We ordered butter pecan and caramel pistachio. I really enjoyed the creamy texture and the mild caramel flavor of my ice cream but the pistachios seemed a bit too soft. Nevertheless, overall I loved my choice. The hubs enjoyed his butter pecan but said that his socks weren't knocked off. He felt as if his ice cream texture was a bit off. I loved the relaxing vibe and community spirit. There was also a lovely variety of flavors, including a dairy-free option. They also give away free fast-acting "Lactaid"-type tablets. I would definitely return!

There was only one employee working when we visited, but he handled everything with a great attitude. He was friendly, polite, and never seemed flustered despite staying busy. The ice cream itself was delicious, and the portions were generous. I got the butter pecan, while my daughter enjoyed the chocolate love and mint chocolate chip. Both were flavorful and hit the spot on a warm day. My only disappointment was that they didn't have a traditional cookies and cream flavor. The only option was a coffee Oreo version, which wasn't for me. Other than that, they had a nice variety of classic flavors, several cone options, and basic toppings. Overall, a great little local ice cream shop with friendly service and generous scoops. We'd definitely stop by again.

I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.

They had just opened at noon, so we were excited to be some of the first customers and check out the flavors of the day! The young lady working was super friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be there--which made our experience even better. She kindly offered us samples of several flavors, which helped us narrow down our choices. I ended up going with a scoop of Piña Colada and something new to me called Candy Dream--a purple gelato that surprisingly tasted like strawberries. Super refreshing and different in a good way! I got mine in a waffle cone, but was a little bummed to find out it was the last one already--only an hour after opening. My husband had to go with a sugar cone, which was still tasty, just not his first choice. We originally came in hoping for chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, but learned they rotate flavors daily--so what's on the menu board isn't always available. Just something to know ahead of time if you're craving something specific. Overall, great little spot with delicious gelato and warm, welcoming service. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors (and hopefully snag a waffle cone next time)!

The owner of this establishment is the least professional, passive-aggressive, and toxic boss that I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. My daughter worked there for four months. There were numerous instances, including over the July 4th holiday, where she was scheduled to work, and was literally told not to come in just hours before her shift was to start. This happened over and over again, and is completely unacceptable. My daughter missed out on babysitting opportunities and a Fourth of July vacation because she was scheduled to work, only to have those hours canceled at the last minute. Who does that? When she was first hired, my daughter had no problem getting 15 to 20 hours per week. She let Miss Deb know she would be interested in getting at least that many hours per week once the summer started. Quite the opposite, she was only given 5 to 10 hours per week consistently with no explanation as to why. Miss Deb thought nothing of trash talking my daughter to the other employees. The other employees who got along well with my daughter, proceeded to let her know all of the terrible things Miss Deb said about her behind her back. My daughter continued to work there, as she was trying to save money for college. My daughter has had other jobs in the past as a lifeguard and a barista. Nothing compares to the poor treatment, lack of respect, and overall toxic environment that Deb promotes in her establishment. Truly, she should be starring in the sequel of the movie "Horrible Bosses." I understand this is a family business, created by her parents. She should be absolutely ashamed of herself for making this the legacy of "Sweet Babes Creamery." Disgraceful behavior from a grown women towards teenagers who are ready and willing to work. Plenty of options to choose from! I decided on a small Sweet Babe with twist soft serve ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) mixed with Oreos and Reese Cups. Wow was this bigger than I expected! I enjoyed my twist, which had a nice balance of vanilla and chocolate. It was creamy, not too rich, and had the right amount of mixins added in. The rest of the family got ice cream sandwiches with twist soft serve. Again, bigger than expected and enjoyed by everyone. Will definitely plan to be back, especially when the weather gets warmer.
