Best ice cream I have had in a long time. I drove from 40 minutes away when I had a craving and they did not disappoint! Love Bruster's!

I stopped by to get ice cream. The lines were long, with only two windows open, but it wasn't a horrible wait. I ordered a dish of two scoops, hot fudge, and pecans. The pecans were toasted, which was great, but they dumped them on whole, not chopped. It wasn't bad, but I've never had an ice cream shop that doesn't use chopped nuts. There are lots of benches and tables for those who wish to eat outside. Overall, it was a good visit. read more

At my son's fall festival this year (Pocahontas Elementary) there was huge freezer cart in one of the rooms offering Brewsters ice cream as a prize. Well, we gave cotton candy-pop rock flavor a go and loved it. (fantastic!!). Today we visited the Brewsters stand behind the Sheets on route 60 but they were out of the cotton candy. I got the strawberry-jolly rancher in a waffle cone and it hit the spot.. Cost me $4 for two scoops and that was plenty. The girl behind the counter was attentive and explained how the ice cream was made at their location. There is parking outside and a drive-through window. There is also outside covered seating under a few pavilions. Really nice touch... Thank you for satisfying my sweet tooth. Excellent value and taste! read more

Took the Grandkids here for an after lunch ice cream, but unfortunately it started raining right after we got our ice creams. No problem at this Brusters....they have 3 very large shelters with picnic tables under them. So we were able to stay dry, enjoy our ice creams, and watch the rain. And their cookie dough blasts are the best. read more

I brought my puppy here to socialize because it's listed as a pet friendly venue - it was such a great experience! The guys behind the counter had her puppy ice cream (vanilla with a milk bone) ready before we even reached the counter and I didn't have to wait long for my chocolate shake. It's a super small ice cream stop with a drive thru and outdoor seating, perfect to bring pets or for a quick family trip for a sweet treat. ICE CREAM! Real, honest to goodness ice cream, from a real honest to goodness ice cream shop! There's no place to sit inside; you either take it to go, or you hit the drive through and.... take it to go. But they have a bunch of different flavors, lots of toppings, and the prices are good. I've been to this Busters before. It's a nice area but knowing exactly when they are open is hit or miss. I just came here this evening 15 minutes before they closed and they said they had already closed down their sundae bar. As a customer it doesn't feel good to make a trip and find out they (partially) closed early. Maybe this is a result of a staffing problem, but you should be fully operational during your business hours. read more

Great ice cream......terrible staff!! The girl on the intercom was not very nice when taking my order and when I drove up to the window, she was just plain rude. I waited for a long time and when she finally came to the window, she just handed me my ice cream, took my card, swiped my card and handed it back, and said nothing. She didn't give me a receipt. She just turned her back and started talking to the other girls in the shop. Super rude. read more

While the ice cream is excellent, the service is lousy. Two young teenagers tripping over each other filling three people's orders. They could not remember that they told people in the drive through to wait, that both did not have to serve 1 family, and a calculator is not always necessary to keep searching for. read more

Update: wow a $2 increase ! Ummm will rethink our next visit. It's milk , sugar and flavoring.

After watching too many back to back episodes of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives (did I get the order right?), I HAD to have a milkshake. We packed the car with the dogs and headed to Brewster's. Waiting in line at the drive thru did take a little longer than expected (I mean, you obviously aren't making the ice cream), but by the time we got to the window we knew why. Not only were they able to mix flavors for my milkshake, they offered us doggie sundaes (a small scoop of vanilla ice cream) for free! I apologize to the people behind us in line for taking a couple extra minutes for our doggy treats, but I won't be questioning the wait in the future. read more

I stopped by this afternoon and got a regular milkshake. My dog was given a free puppy cup (his first ice cream). The milkshake was extra thick, no scrimping on the ice cream and the server was friendly. I will drive here from Midlothian. read more

We went to the Farmville Va. airport for the fourth of July fireworks. Ordered a two scoop cone for my self and it was twice the amount my friend got in his two scoops,he complained and they lied and said it was two scoops and would not fill it up more like mine. My wife went up there and ordered two little small cups of ice cream for the children. Each one had about a small scoop in it and was charge $5.00 apiece for them which was redicioulous price for a small cup it was... We were charge $5.00 a piece for our cones too which i think is somewhat redicilous a price to charge . Less than a scoop for a small child $5.00 i think is robbery to the public.. I wont buy anything from them in the future at these events ..A young girl that worked there even did not want to give my friend his change from a $20.00 bill she gave her and her bill was only $5.00 she gave her ten back then the other five when i spoke up about it too.. THEiR ice cream is gold let them keep it and rottttt! read more

well i pulled in drive thru today may 28,2019 at about 3:30pm at the powhatan store and they said they be with me in a moment....after about 15 to 20 minutes still nothing.....its over 90 degrees and my truck starts to overheat so i cut it off awhile...untill i start to sweat my ass off....so i backed up and pulled around just to see 3 employees including manager not doing a dam thing and no customers in store...i have been here before a couple of times and they were slow but i did get served....i will never go but to this store again.... they all need to be fired and then hire a manager with some skills... my rating for this store lol very below average read more

Beautiful day while traveling to Va. And wanted to stop and get some ice cream. We drove to the drive in and waited no response even though there was someone else in front of use as we thought was being served. We decided to drive around and park to walk up instead due to the type of order we wanted. Stood in line for about 10-15 minutes with out acknowledgement from employee who was still in conversation with the vehicle that was in front of us. The employee saw that my daughter and I was standing there and not once did he acknowledged us while he was having his conversation. I started to feel discriminated against by not being able to order a simple ice cone. I said to my daughter lets go, our need for ice cream here is not wanted. The employee still did not acknowledge or attempt to say may I help you even as we were walking away and he was leaning outside of the drive through window talking to the same vehicle that was in front of us. Blisters, is this your policy of not recognizing patrons of a different color? Not impressed nor happy with this level of service or a business who don't recognize a regular customer wanting ice cream on a Godly beautiful given day. read more
