Have been in Kawaii (Princeville) for 8 days. We have eaten here 3 times! I see other reviews condemning the credit card fee...these reviewers don't realize that EVERY restaurant and shop has to do the same thing. This place has great food, and is actually one of the more affordable places in Princeville or Hanalei. We ate the Goddess salad, rigatoni bolognese, onion rings, chicken Alfredo, mozzarella sticks, and the crispy chicken sandwich. All these menu items were very good and service was very friendly. Debby had the Macnut Mai Tai, and loved it. You need to realize that EVERYTHING on this island is expensive! If you don't like the prices, you should have gone somewhere else. TL;DR highlights: The food was ok. Pasta good, tad underdone. Lasagna overdone. Do not order the $55 steak. The service was slow. They were understaffed and poorly managing the seating. One waiter was trying to serve tables, seat tables, and run food -- which is impossible. Full review: The best part was the mozarella sticks. Steak is overpriced, too salty, too much fat and gristle in the cut we had. For $55 we expected a cut we could eat. We asked for the sauce on the side which revealed just how much they over-salted the steak. If it had been drenched in sauce, that would have masked the salt quite a bit. The rigatoni pasta sauce was very tasty and fresh. Some of the past was a tad underdone. The lasagna was also tasty, but pasta was hard and overdone on top layover of one side. It's a deconstructed pasta layered and cooked when you order it. Did not appear to be a slice cut from a large pan, which is ok. It just needed to be cooked well, not hard. I did not have to make a reservation I was seated immediately, which was great. I ate here twice and both times the waiters were super friendly and the food was delicious. First time I got pasta and was full and very satisfied. Second time I tried their catch of the day which was swordfish. Delicious and this was my first time trying swordfish. Our flight got in at 4pm by the time we picked up our rental car and drove to Princeville we were beyond starving so we stopped into B's for dinner. The host was really pleasant and we were sat immediately even though we were a party of 5 without a reservation. We sat down and waiting about 15 minutes before our server greeted us we were famished so we ordered everything on the spot, from that point it took around 45 minutes for the first entree to come out other entrees came out one by one in about 5 minute increments, it was odd but we were so hungry we just wolfed it down. We've been to Princeville-Hanalei a lot and B's is easily among the top places we dine for reliably good food, warm service and lovely atmosphere. The menu is burgers, pizza and pasta--but done very very well so I've never had nor heard of a bad experience. I visited with low expectations based on online reviews, but with limited options open after the storm, we decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, the experience was awful from the start. Our server, Katy, never greeted us and immediately complained about the host seating us too quickly, making us feel like an inconvenience. When my vegetarian wife tried to order pasta with marinara--and later pivoted to a Margherita pizza--Katy dismissed her, falsely claimed red sauce wasn't available on its own (despite it being served with the garlic bread), and pushed chicken Alfredo instead. When the food arrived, the pasta was completely overcooked and mushy, while my chicken sandwich was mediocre at best. Katy never returned to check on the table, so I had to find a manager. While the manager was accommodating and quickly brought out the simple red sauce pasta we originally wanted, Katy came back shortly after to confront my wife about involving management. On top of the hostile service, the dining room is decorated with tasteless, overtly sexualized signs targeting women that create an uncomfortable atmosphere. Management removed the problematic items from the bill, but the confrontation and poor food ruined the entire experience. Save your money and patience--you are better off skipping a meal. read more

This past Sunday night was packed at B's and luckily we had a reservation. We arrived about 20 minutes early and the hostess agreed that getting a drink at the bar before our table was ready would be good. At the bar,we waited several minutes to be greeted. We could tell things were busy so we didn't mind. When the bartender finally came our way, I made the mistake(?) of saying that we were just getting a drink before our table was ready. That yielded many rude comments during our time at the bar. We tried to order easy drinks and agreed for our check right away to help her out, but unfortunately she didn't see it that way. I understand things get busy. I understand that customers wanting more than one drink are ideal. But neither is an excuse for rude comments. Once we got to our table, we had a lovely evening. Natalie was the best server we could ask for. We had the calamari, a (not-so) little gem salad, beef cheeks for him and pesto & burrata for me. We stopped in after dinner just for drinks at the bar, and it was such a fun stop. The chili pepper margarita was off the charts delicious with the perfect spicy kick, and the mojitos were tasty too. The atmosphere is excellent, and it's clear that the place has been well-maintained. It feels modern, fresh, and lively without being overly extravagant. We didn't eat this time, but after seeing the food and pizza go by, we'll definitely be back to try it next time. read more

B's Kitchen was a pleasant surprise during our last visit in July. As it was in very close proximity to where we were staying, we ended up here after a day of beach hopping and exploring the island. At first we thought maybe we were just really hungry, but by the end of the meal after having the tiramisu that was made at the table, we concluded the food was really that good. So good that we almost went back the next day but we had a full list of restaurants to visit so we ended up not making it back. That being said, this will be a spot for us to visit for every Kauai trip. Service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant has a really relaxing vibe with lots of open space and cute decor. My first impression of B's Kitchen was it was comfortable and inviting. Started out ordering drinks. Tropical mule and Italian soda (was eventually returned) . Both were the worst drinks made, you could tell the bartenders were inexperience. The waitress was didn't care attidude and had to struggle to return the drinks, I had to explain why I was returning the drinks. Then we ordered dinner, and to go order for my daughters. The B's burger was made to perfection, however, the Lasagna was burnt crispy on the bottom. I laid the crispy bottom on the side of the plate so she could see it, and she could not care less didn't even ask if we are enjoying our meal. For me it was NOT worth spending $180 and not enjoy the evening out with the family. Never going back there again. read more

Our first visit with 6 people was disappointing, the service was slow, they lost our order, food okay. I found out from the manager Julie (or Julia) he was a new server, which explained the problems. The hamburger was was overcooked, the caesar salad with chicken is a small serving and nothing special. Our friends were happy with their pizza. On our second visit with 19 people, the service was FANTASTIC, and we ordered pizza, which was pretty good. I recommend the pizza. Others were happy with their various pastas. I had a Mai Tai and it was different than the usual, but really good and not sweet. Worth a try. Over all my impression is your server is key, it is easy to get in and a group of 6 or more you can make a reservation. They are so close to being a good restaurant, I hope they can up their game for everyone. The Princeville location is so convenient, I want this place to be successful, but I understand it is hard to get employees in Kauai. It is worth visiting, but with moderate expectations. read more

The size of a small airplane hangar, this expansive Italian themed restaurant is decorated with wood, shiny surfaces and floor space. FCFS Resv. But apparently they take birthday parties. It's a great large space for an art gallery, although once an 8-top gets a few cocktails you'll need to shout to converse. The bar is center stage although the large open kitchen line also has counter seating to watch cooks do their magic or their fingers. Interesting Vintage Italian movie poster reproductions and decor placement. The service was stellar and products came out fast, but I mentally repositioned all posters while waiting for our meal. Looks like the trend of larger menus has been adjusted due to lack of skilled labor and housing. The menu, cocktails and wine list were recently revamped, so the fried calamari, wings and mozzarella sticks are out but prices increased. Pizza is their mainstay. We ordered mushroom with truffle seasoning of which there was a scant hint. I feel it needed a pinch of salt and crispier crust from the massive gas pizza oven. Their Roasted Beet Salad had a few bits of beet, nuts and Gorgonzola cheese and the tariff was questionable. Ahi Crudo was similar in the 5 slices of fish were a day old. I didn't stumble across any Marcona Almonds, but the dressing had a good viscosity sans the evidence of Sherry. Our partners had the Ribeye and Mahi which looked and tasted great. We shared the Ice Cream Brownie that was pretty awesome. Since they're one of many restaurants in pricy Princeville they may not be concerned about competition. However, If they could keep everything that simple and consistent (like that great efficient blond ponytailed server) they'll get more frequent/repeat business from us. read more

We came here on a Sunday, and there was only a couple tables filled (around 5 pm). We ordered 3 pizzas, a salad, and onion rings. Our appetizer came quickly, however we watched the salad on the counter for at least 20 minutes before it was brought to our table. Salad said it would have cucumber, sunflower seeds, and radish, but they were missing, and only contained greens. After waiting 40 minutes, we decided to add on a child's pasta. Our kids were getting so antsy and hungry, and the waitress said only 5 pizzas could cook at a time. However, we were one of the first people in the restaurant, so we are confused why it looks so long. We continued to wait, and finally after an hour, the pizzas arrive. Our vegetable pizza had raw mushrooms on top...they were completely raw and uncooked. We finished the pizzas, and I asked a server where the pasta was. She said she didnt know and couldn't help us. We tried flagging down the waitress, and finally she came by and said she would check. We asked to cancel if it hadn't been made, as it was over 1.5 hours that we had been there. She came back over 10 minute later, and said the kitchen never received the order???? She also brought the bill. During the meal, my husband and 1 year old had to be outside most of the time, as the wait was too long. We did have a party of 4 adults, a 4 year old, and infant. The waitress never brought either child silverware. We had to beg her for plates for either child. However, despite that, she tacked on a 20% charge for a party of 6. I would expect that if there is a surcharge for a *large party, each member would be taken care of. We left hungry and grumpy, with 2 hours wasted. read more
