I recently placed an order for pickup and, honestly, I'm not sure if the ownership has changed, but the customer service has definitely gone downhill. When I called to place an order from the lunch menu, I was told they were out of that specific lunch item. When I asked for alternatives, the person on the phone sounded irritated, which was disappointing. We decided to go ahead and order other items from the lunch menu anyway. When we arrived to pick it up, we waited outside after paying and were never informed that our food was ready. When we got home and opened our trays, two of the orders were incorrect. On top of that, the food presentation was poor and not worth what we paid even though it was a lunch special and the taste wasn't anywhere near what it used to be. I like mee krob And get it often at places. Today I had Uber Eats bring it. As Om Home fighting cancer. First don't package something sticky with tin foil. Some of the aluminum is stuck. Can't hear it with the foil. Now the few proteins are so unbelievably dried if I tried to bite I would break a Tooth. I mean like dog bones. The two shrimp and a few pieces of I think Chicken. Bua Siam, Bua So Long... We've been ordering from Bua Siam ever since we've moved to the area and it was our reasonably price Thai take out spot over the past 6 years. Other than a few faux pas with ordering pickup over the phone like telling me ready in 30 minutes, but upon arrival, chefs/FOH hanging about realizing they totally forgot my order and had to chop chop it together as I waited for another 30 mins. But the food was always good and the price was awesome so we always let it slide as they were always nice. I recently saw they had a management change and new direct website ordering via chownow with 20% off your first order so we gave it a go. The online options seemed not accurate as you could not choose spice level of dishes nor was there any brown rice option. I wrote in the comments of each dish as to what spice level we like and none of that was reflected in the food and paper receipt stapled to the bag. Perhaps the online service didn't send it to the printer back at the restaurant. Not a big deal as I have my spice arsenal back at the house to make it so. As for the papaya salad, there are only shrimp or catfish options, not the usual just papaya. Prices went up across the board for everything so opted for the papaya with shrimp since we assumed the shrimp addition reflected the price hike. No shrimp. So again, online ordering from their site is not accurate. Food was ready and hot when I picked up and took home. Getting started on the papaya salad, holy fish sauce bomb! It was so over the top fishy and salty it was practically inedible. I also ordered the pineapple curry with pork and eggplant with chicken; both also quite the salt fish bomb. I love fish sauce and cook with it often but this was quite heavy handed across all dishes. Never had this experience here or any other Thai spot before. We both ended up with quite the upset stomach as well as crazy bloating and sleeping was a chore. I'm not sure what happened with the management change, but first take.... First and foremost, they do true Thai level spicy So if you are even remotely on the fence, I would highly suggest you go milder and add spice as you need! I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and it was delicious. Personal preference, it might be just a tad sweeter than I like but overall it was great! All the ingredients added A wonderful mishmash of flavors and textures so it broke up any possible monotony of flavor. I ordered a mild just to be on the safe side and boy am I glad I did! It was just on the border of a little much. I usually go for medium in many other spots. I would also take an initial scoop of soup by itself to prep yourself so you don't cough on the fumes hahaha. 2nd time here and didn't disappoint. Brought my coworkers to try it and they all loved it! We had a short lunch and the owner was kind enough to let us order ahead over the phone and have it ready for when we arrived. Super sweet and cute man, very attentive to your requests. Pad kee mow and pad see ew are likely my favorite here, then the friend rice with basil leaves, then the pad Thai. Thai style bbq was over cooked and hard to chew. Egg rolls were perfect again. I have ordered from this restaurant twice. The first time I got eggrolls and Pad Thai. The food was delicious however, it was more salty than I would want. I also asked for extra sweet-and-sour sauce but did not get it. Moving on the second time I ordered, I tried something different. I got a glass noodle dish and shrimp wrapped in wonton as an appetizer. The appetizer was burnt! When I mean burnt, I mean black on either side of the wonton and on every piece. Not only that, the sodium content had to be in the thousands. I was unable to eat any of these because mainly of the salt. I could almost take burnt, but not all that darn salt! This appetizer was gross! The glass noodle dish, however, was perfectly prepared. It did not have a lot of salt. It was delicious. I did, again, ask for extra sweet-and-sour sauce; I did not receive. Overall, this restaurant is all right. I do not know if the chefs read instructions from customers, at least with me. I do not believe they have read one single thing I wrote. The food comes quickly, and it comes hot and, as I wrote, the Pad Thai was awesome, just too salty. Take your chances, but make sure if you are on a salt restricted menu, put in all caps under special instructions 'no salt less salt'. That is what I did 'less oil less salt', and I cannot say whether those instructions were followed. The bottom line is this restaurant is good. It is not cheap so I believe I should not be receiving burnt appetizers that taste like a salt lick. That may not be your experience so give them a try. I will be chugging water all day, mot because of heat but the SALT! read more

This is my fav Thai spot on the valley. The service and food here are impeccable. The yellow curry and the pad Thai are my personal favorite. The mango sticky rice is also such a delicious dessert! My last 4-5 orders placed with this restaurant have been adjusted after I receive my receipt upon placing my order. It's always been. $3-4 being added and adjusted to my order. How is that fair? I thought it was because of the LG Thai iced tea I would order, but even last night without ordering that, I had the up charge after I paid for my order. The reason is " charge due to order change" What order change is that?!!! If your prices have gone up, don't be lazy and update them on your restaurant page on grubhub!!! Bua Siam Catered our film crew and we loved it so much we decided to go back to them again. They put together a large order for 30 hungry people. Everyone loved it. The curry was delicious and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and somehow also flavorful. We also ordered on shorter notice than what they are used to but they still accommodated us. Our order was ready on time and they supplied silverware and serving ware. We were also Abel to add individual orders to our catering order for pescatarians. Bua Siam, strip mall Thai on Sherman Way right near Pa Ord, Sanamluang, and other Thai stores & eateries about a half mile south of Wat Thai Buddhist Temple. Very small & narrow, casual restaurant decorated with tchotchkes. The fountain in the front corner is charming w/ pottery Thai dolls that remind me a bit of trolls, elves, or dwarves some people here use to decorate their lawns. A rubber ducky, Japanese Hello Kitty, & a smiling frog lying on its back hands behind his head also keep company. I ordered through the new Yelp ordering system which was easy & fast. This way of ordering is more fail safe since ordering eover the phone may make it so the person taking the order mishears due to bad connection, noise in the restaurant, possible language gap. All you have to do is click the bar that has the name of what you want to order. Prepay by credit card or pay cash at the counter upon your arrival. You can also keep your credit card on file with Yelp so that you don't have to worry about putting in your credit card number w/ every order. 1) Ordered an old school dish from the late 1970's & 80's which isn't on many menus now. Mi Krob or Mee Grop is thin rice noodles thrown into hot vegetable oil so it puffs up & crisps. Bua Siam version seems tossed in a mixture of sweet & sour red tamarind sauce, extremely sautéed small chicken strips so it seems like candied, dried jerky along w/ severely overcooked hard, tough shrimps. The portion is generous for the price however. Because this is such a dry, sweet dish, I found it better to take it home to thinly shred cabbage, romaine lettuce, red onions & toss it all together so it becomes a sweet-sour crunchy, refreshing vegetal salad. Just eating it as it is makes for an almost monotone dry taste spectrum where one can get bored easily. 2) Pad Ka Prow w/ rice: The classic is to have this over rice, but Bua Siam sautées chiles, garlic, fragrant Thai basil, Nampla/fish sauce, soy sauce along w/ my choice of small pork strips and also dumps the jasmine rice toward the end to have a fried rice effect. I like the contrast of the bland pure white steamed rice to contrast to the more spicy, salty, aromatic sautéed portion. However, Bua Siam's version has all the right flavours. Another huge generous portion. I'm a big eater, but they give you so much that I was able to finish the Mi Krob since it is the type of food that will not keep since it gets stale so quickly in or out of the refrigerator. I had a few bites of the Pad Ka Prow to get an idea what its flavours were. There is still enough for at least more two lunches. Bua Siam may not have sophisticated, refined Thai style cuisine, but it is a deal. You get a lot of bang for the bucks when all you want is basically down home Thai cooking in mass quantities. For now, 3++ Yelp stars for a whole lot of good food at a low price. read more
