The kai jiew (thai omelette) is crispy and cooked well. The crab fried rice is fragrant and also cooked perfectly. Both are more like a side dish than an entree though, because they are lightly salted so they will pair nicely with the entrees like the stir fries or curry. Thai ice tea also nice and not too sweet, so ask for less ice if you prefer a nicely sweet and strong thai tea. Service is friendly but be ready for a bit of wait for your orders to be ready. Decided to try this Thai place for the first time. Even though there was plenty of open seating, the service felt a bit unwelcoming. The calamari looked great but was very chewy we only managed one or two pieces. The salad wasn't tossed, and overall the dishes lacked flavor and presentation. I didn't finish my meal, and it didn't sit well with me although it could just be what I ordered. On the bright note, the peanut sauce was delicious and the highlight of the meal. I might consider coming back to try it with a different dish. The food wasn't terrible, but better seasoning, presentation, and simply tossing the salad would have made a big difference. Stopped by here on our way home going all the way to Thai town in Hollywood was out of the question after a long day. At any rate, we came at a good time as not a lot of people were here but enough to say that the place gets busy. A lot of people came to pick up their orders We ordered the Crispy Pork w/ Chinese Broccoli, Tom Yum Shrimp Very Spicy level and Beef Pad See Ew. We wanted the Sautéed Morning Glory with Garlic but we were told that morning glory was out of season. I read another review from 4 months ago and they were told the same thing. Somehow I find it hard to believe because you can literally find morning glory in just about every Asian market any time of the year. Also, I've had it in another Asian restaurant every time we order it. At any rate, the food we ordered was good. The noodles have that distinct wok taste. I wish the pork belly was fresher as it seemed like it was fried the day before. The Tom yum had a good flavor but the shrimp were small so they appeared over cooked in the broth. It's been a while since we stopped off here. As we were in the neighborhood, popped in for a bite. Menu is still as it was from previous years but quantity has decreased quite a bit. Food doesn't take long to arrive but is always hot and fresh when brought out. Also, time seemed to have changed as they tend to close early even on a Saturday night. I remember being here after the bars but now it seemed to be closed pretty early. Food, from what we've ordered was good. The curry now is half of what they used to bring out. I don't know what happened to this place, but it's definitely not the same. After two recent visits i was very disappointed. I can say the quality has dropped. Went on a Sunday night, and we found parking right away. We were a party of 11, so we had to wait for a big table for about 5 minutes. Once seated, we were giving our plates and utensils. The server told us what kind of drinks they had and that last call for ordering anything is 9:30pm just to give us a heads up. We ordered the the tom kha to share which is always a hit. Me and my son ordered the pad see ew and it never disappoints. I think overall this is the best thai place around this area. read more

My friends and I ordered the Tom yum chicken (we asked for medium spicy, but it was not spicy at all), chicken fried rice, pad see ew with tofu, and the chicken bbq plate. Like I said, the food was delicious and the portions were big enough to share up to 4 people. The restaurant is spacious and the lights were bright. So upon passing out the bowls for our soup, there was a little cockroach in the bowl crawling. We immediately asked the server for brand new utensils and plates. The new silverware we got had still had left over food on them. Despite the food being really delicious, the restaurant can work on their cleanliness. Placed my order while stuck in traffic and it was ready 20 minutes later. All the condiments and utensils were already included without me asking...nice! The restaurant is located on end of strip lot. Interior has a nice modern and spacious vibe. I got pad see ew with beef, fried chicken over rice and panang chicken. OMG, everything was so good and flavorful. Best pad see ew I've had in long time. Noodles and beef were cooked to perfection. Panang curry had good blend of spices. Portions were perfect for sharing. at first they told me it would cost extra to have the fat removed from my order. After I talked to them, they did remove the fat at no extra charge, which I appreciated. The food here is very delicious, but I don't love that they sometimes cut the duck with a lot of fat to increase the portion weight -- that doesn't feel right to me. Pretty good Thai Spot in Noho. My sister in law had suggested going to the Krua Thai in Covina last week, and I remembered there being one in North Hollywood. It was pretty good so I got some take out from this location. Ordered the Pad Thai lunch special - came with fried rice, an egg roll and soup. Got my hubby the chicken larb. I honestly love the food and service here. They were so quick and kind when I came to do a takeout order! I ordered shrimp toast, pad see ew, boneless roasted duck, and received a recommendation for sautéed eggplant as the morning glory I wanted was out of season. I ended the order saying NO PEANUTS ON ANYTHING because I'm severely allergic!!! A few bites into the eggplant, and my mouth is swollen and I feel nauseous. Luckily, I don't have an anaphylactic reaction, but there are others who could have died from this. Given the recent media attention towards peanut allergy deaths, I would hope more restaurants take these requests seriously. ***Update: I just got off the phone with the restaurant (not sure who I spoke with, it was a man) and he gaslighted me saying "I'm just being honest, we don't use peanuts in this dish. It's garlic maybe." Then after insisting it is obviously peanuts (since I have eyes and I'm vomiting and cramping) he said to bring the dish to the restaurant and they could make a new one or to go to the ER and bring the medical bill. When I stated a refund of the full order would suffice, he stated I would still have to come to the restaurant with the card used for a refund. I am unable to do this now because I had to take a Benadryl which is sedating. This whole issue was so unprofessionally handled and I will be going through the appropriate channels to file a formal complaint. read more

My family wanted to stop by here today for dinner so I decided to join them. Finding parking in the plaza this restaurant is in was easy today for a Sunday evening. Since they were not busy, we all seated quickly and our waiter came to take our order. My sister got her chicken over rice and I went with their chow Mein combo. The other people order fried rice, some soup l, fried fish and bbq pork. The complicated food came out first. My chow Mein and fried rice was the last to come out but I didn't mind waiting for her. They give a decent portion of the chicken over rice and you'll get a lot of rice. My chow Mein combo came with a lot of meat and seafood. If you want Sriracha then it's not in a bottle but they put it in a small plate instead. There wasn't as much noodles but it filled me up. The service we receive was amazing and they stayed attentive to us. It been awhile since I dine inside here but it looked up to date and cleaned. read more

Been going here since we moved to the valley, mainly because it has a big dining area and whenever we go there's always a table available. We know what we want so the review here is for what we typically order. I see a lot of families here ordering Tom yum but we typically do not order family style here because everyone wants something different. We were here in a weeknight last week and there's still a lot of people dining in. We ordered general noodle, beef with rice, heavenly noodle and hubs ordered combination fried rice and Thai omelette. Food came in maybe after 15 mins and I liked my general noodles because really that's usually what I order here. I tried my son's heavenly noodle and it's just too much bamboo shoots for me. The Thai omelette has very little meat though but hubs was ok with it. Don't have a photo of this but the rest I shared below. Bottom line is if you want affordable Thai food - I would go here. I'm not one to experiment and try something in new in this restaurant. Service was ok they were attentive considering there's only 2 of them in the dining area. read more

Made fresh to order, all the ingredients mesh to make this soup a big bowl of healthy goodness. The home made won tons, their BBQ'd pork, the boc choi, garlic, green onions, in a delightful broth, just make the meal every time I visit. We shared pad se ew with beef, and pork with Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce over rice, and that was a hit with the Mrs. as well. Very good experience as always. We ordered the mussels for the first tjme after coming here for years and it was surprisingly my favorite dish of the meal. Duck over rice satisfied my craving but the duck was a bit on the rubbery side and a tad salty. Dipping sauce for the sate was yummy. They seemed to be understaffed which was frustrating when we needed refills, extra utensils/napkins and the bill. Extremely disappointed in my "to-go" order. PLEASE EVERYONE: Check and make sure of your orders before leaving this establishment. I ordered special rice and the container that it was in only was half way filled up from the top. Spend approximately $15 on this special rice, you would think the restaurant could have at least filled the container up all the way. Stopped by this Thai restaurant on a Friday night. It was quite busy so it seems popular. It took awhile to get seated- they had a waitlist in the front of the restaurant but wasn't actually using it. Food itself was... OK. We had the chicken satay, pad see ew, chicken over rice and some Thai teas. The chicken satay was OK, a bit dry for my liking but the satay sauce was excellent. The pad see ew was OK- definitely on the saltier/sweeter side, but otherwise tastes as it should. The chicken over rice was the biggest disappointment- it was SO dry. They used chicken breast cooked to oblivion, dry as a bone. There's also no chicken skin on the breast which not only helps the meat stay moist but offers a lot of flavor and texture. The sauce was fine and the chicken soup that goes with it was quite tasty. Overall I was quite disappointed with the food considering how popular it was. The service was fine, food came out at a reasonable speed. Prices were average and portions were generous. With so many great Thai restaurants in LA and the valley I don't see a compelling reason to come back in the future. read more

My family and I have been going here for forever! It's almost become a sort of tradition to come here everytime I visit home. I have some favorites I usually order like chicken pad thai but this time around tried some new dishes. We got roasted duck fried rice, papaya salad, chicken tom yum soup, and rad naa! Omg the rad naa was the star of the meal and we finished it all. It's so good! It's flat noodles with bok choy I believe and a nice sweet savory gravy. Yummm. I also really enjoyed the papaya salad. Not too tart and definitely the kind of salad i could eat a lot of and enjoy! The duck fried rice was also very good. I think duck in general is very fatty so the fried rice felt pretty rich. Papaya salad was good to balance it out lol :P And the tom yum soup was good! I wished there were more veggies but overall tasty. Service here is great too! Our waitress, didn't catch her name, was so nice and polite and even told us a little bit about the rad naa dish we ordered. Apparently in Thailand it's common to eat it with crispy egg noodles. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Valley. Any time I am in the area, I try to find an excuse to roll down Sherman Way to eat here. I used to live in the area for many years and have been eating here since I was a teenager. Now I have the pleasure of bringing my kids and we all love it equally. The staff are always pleasant, always have been. They've made nice changes to the floor plan and décor over the years, but the food quality has remained consistent. The large, open floor plan leaves room for the well spaced long tables, and the semi private room in the back is great for additional seating or private parties. The bathrooms are always clean and most importantly cannot be smelt from the tables. I don't usually stray from my favorite go to dishes: Tom Yum shrimp, Pad See Ew, Crab fried rice (made with real crab)...damn, I'm hungry just thinking about it. I am extremely picky with my Asian foods. Thai is one of my favorites and I am very critical. Krua Thai hits all the flavor spots for me so I keep coming back for more. Their menu contains all the Thai staples and some dishes that I know some other Thai restaurants do not offer. My kids love their Thai iced tea and their coconut milk served in real coconuts. Serving sizes are big enough to share. We've shared the 3 dishes mentioned above between 3 people but it is probably enough for more. If I take the entire family, I would maybe order just one more dish for bigger portions. Prices are average to other Thai restaurants. The service here is much better here, IMO. The only con, is that parking is limited. Krua Thai is located in a small shopping plaza with a shared parking lot. When they get busy, and yes they do get busy, you might be forced to find parking on the street or in the connecting neighborhood. I haven't yet had a negative experience and I hope to enjoy all future visits as I usually do. My family and I will make an excuse to hit up Krua Thai again in the near future. Masks and proof of vaccine/negative Covid test are now required, which is to be expected. read more
