My kid said only the rice alone was fine as long as it didn't touch the chicken but the chicken has a weird flavor that was hard to finish eating. Wontons are still good. My daughter is back for college summer break and craving Vics Thai Food. She was soo disappointed. She cried and threw the food away. I could hardly stand the smell myself. They say you should always go back to where you were young again and rediscover. I did that recently I had to go down to NoHo and decided to take the long way back to Reseda. In the process I was going to pickup dinner for the family. I stopped at Vic's Thai Food not having been there for more than 20 years yes you read that right and wow why did I stay away my goodness I didn't think it was possible for a restaurant to get better but Vic's did just that I highly recommend Vic's for fresh authentic food robust with flavor and texture. Vic's Thai Food has been a local Thai food spot that neighbors cannot get enough of. According to the neon sign, it's been around since 1978. It's older than me! There is always constant orders from walk-ins or you hear beeps from the apps or rings on restaurant phone line when I thought things were gonna be slow around 2pm. I admitted I waited for a while just because it was popping. It isn't your traditional thai food spot. It's a converted outdoor burger stand back in the day but continues to sell thai food from a window you are able to eat under covered patio with 6-7 tables. Why did I come here? My friend who lives around the corner told me it's her favorite spot for orange chicken and pad thai. I wanted to surprise her. I was happy it was before 3pm because their lunch special is 11-3pm everyday and orange chicken and pad Thai noodles was on their lunch special list for $12!!!! Score on a great deal. On top of that, I got to pick between eggrolls or crispy wontons per lunch special. Of course we had to try both. Next, we got a free pink yuzu punch per lunch special. I can't believe we got all of this for $12 each! I could have upgraded the drink for thai tea for $1-ish more but I was already satisfied sipping on my pink yuzu punch. I also order the green curry lunch special and some spicy wontons. To add to my friend and I's lunch date. I think I was a few dollars off but they gave me a free Vic's Tote with my take out order anyway . Love the tote and the design. It's very hip and cool. Place really isn't the same as before. I came here personally to see if new ownership made a difference but it was actually worse. New owners are not nice and the food has tremendously downgraded after changing the menu. When people say change is good no it is not, it can either be good or bad and in this case it is awful. Everything that they had on the previous menu is no longer there anymore I miss the old Eggrolls, and the combinations they used to have before along with many of the other non Thai options. If you use to patron here from the beginning just a heads up that it is not going to be the same experience unfortunately. read more

It's been about 10 years since our last visit. (We moved to another state) In the past, we regularly drove 40 minutes round trip at least twice a month to eat here. Our usual orders were chicken panang curry, beef pad see ew, beef broccoli with fried rice, orange chicken with fried rice, and Thai tea. Previously, the food was consistently good with generous portion sizes. On this visit, the food tasted noticeably different compared to before. Portion sizes and presentation have changed, and the Thai tea no longer comes in the large styrofoam cup with crushed ice that it used to. The service was very friendly. The food did take a bit longer to come out, which is understandable since it appeared there was only one cook and one cashier working at the time. Overall, while the restaurant brought back memories, the food did not match our past experiences. read more

The green curry is completely different and had no flavor and the egg rolls were also changed and not good. Vics has always been my go to for bbq pork over fried rice. I live in Santa Clarita but had no issues making the drive. It was worth it! So I thought but not after today. Picked up my rice and when I got home I couldnt believe that this was NOT the rice I so much craved! I was literally heart broken to read that its now under new ownership and the rice now sucks! Staff is very nice at this fast and very casual spot that is more of a pick up spot but they do provide parking and outdoor seating. Many of their specials are only valid when ordering via one of these apps. Food is average at best but worth a try. Portions and pricing generally speaking are as expected but I substituted veggies for rice for my curry that ended up being minimal veggies for an up charge. If I go back again, it would be to try their egg dish. read more

I ordered panang curry and Thai tea. Thai tea is sweet, creamy and good amount of tea aroma. But the real star is of course their panang curry!!!! I've tried pad Thai at other places and actually this is a very good place except the food is way too spicy and there's no option (at least in DoorDash) to remove it. I couldn't enjoy my food (sadly) nor my roomie because we both had our mouths numb of how spicy this was. There's no decor or ambience, as it is a covered outdoor concrete patio for the dining room. The menu is a hodgepodge of Americanized Pan Asian food, which isn't bad in itself when everything is tasty, but it's an indicator that there's no focus or vision when nothing tastes good. My food quality was extra disappointing. I ordered the barbecue pork, noodles, fried rice, and wonton platter. Man, my family has been coming here before I was born & then I was raised on it too Everything has changed A few months ago I got my usual, bbq pork over fried rice and they changed the container to something so small and tiny with a little bit of salad. I loved the salad so I usually asked for extra with extra dressing on the side so that I can mix the sauce into my rice. Today I got an order since I was in the area and I didn't receive any salad. The container was bigger but the whole point of my eating this was the mixture of flavors. On top of that, they usually fry it with some diced tomatoes and eggs. Now they have slivered onions, sliced tomatoes, and no eggs. Something about the taste felt off. My mom, sister, boyfriend and I have all agreed that this meal was disappointing. We live 1.5 hours away and have always bought extra for left overs. Wondering if owner ship has changed? Maybe the old cook retired?
