You can look at the other past reviews and see that I absolutely love this place. They have authentic flavors they use fresh ingredients. They have a sparkling, smiling staff and always willing to help the customer the extra mile. They have party room in the back, they have minimum streetside outdoor seating and they have plenty room inside to let you try homestyle Thai cooking. It's Northern Thai style, which is called Ian. And of all the flavors that I tried when I lived there, his son was my favorite and it mimics a lot of the things that you have in layout as well. I recommend this to families even to bring their kids along with them. They'd have fun here.

Amazing Thai spot in Albany. Came here with my girlfriend and this was a perfect date night spot. Loved the ambiance in here and it wasn't too packed due the rain the night we went. The portions are very reasonable and prices are about $18 a plate. We called in the order and we got two boxes one of pad Thai chicken and one of pad see ew beef and it was lovely. Family dinner for six. When I asked where folks wanted to go, two of my brothers independently suggested Bua Thai Kitchen. Sure, we're down for that. A reservation was made for 6pm on a Friday night. Never knowing how bad traffic would be, we left home early and arrived way to early. We grabbed a parking space in their small let and felt lucky because there was only on other space plus a handicap space. We didn't realize that two cars could also park parallel close to the building. Street parking is also very tight. This is important to know because this restaurant appears to do a very healthy delivery service business. It seemed like many of the drivers picking up orders chose not to park properly, making it difficult for others to pull into parking spaces or even just into the lot itself. We observed at least one driver who parked near the building and ran inside, leaving his lights on and his driver's door open. The restaurant can't be blamed for this behavior; it's beyond their control. There were a few occupied tables when we entered. We were seated at a two-top that was next to a four top. It seems like more restaurants are using USB-C ported LCD lights lately. Much more useful than those silly LCD "tea candles" that provided zero light. Menus were presented as were glasses of water and two carafes. Our server came over several times to see if we were ready to place our order, but it always takes forever. We finally ended up with: Green Salad Rolls - 4 - Fresh, crunchy, and delicious with the accompanying peanut sauce. Roti with Yellow Curry - 4 - The Roti was perfection. The Yellow Curry Sauce was a bit on the thin side. Thicker would adhere better to the Roti. Roti with Peanut Sauce - 4 - Same great Roti. Peanut Sauce flavor was decent but there was some separation of oil from the sauce itself. Crispy Rice Salad - 4 - A bit too sour for me from the lime but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. Pumpkin Curry with Tofu - 4 - Perfect over rice. We ordered everything mild so everyone could eat all that we ordered. The vegetables were cooked well. Spicy Green Beans - 1 - This was our least favorite dish. The Green Beans were simply tough and stringy. Pad Thai with Chicken - 4 - Was good. As expected. Seafood Eggplant - 5 - Dish of the evening. Although no one got a taste of every ingredient, what I got was quite tasty. Pla Rad Prik - 4 - Deep-fried Pampano with Sweet and Sour Sauce, Pineapple and Crispy Basil. There was also an assortment of red, green and yellow bell peppers. By the time we were done eating, we had no room left for dessert. Service was pretty good. Definitely a place worth returning to except for the Green Beans.

===TL;DR=== - Red curry - Seafood eggplant ===TMI=== First and foremost, they NO LONGER have the young coconut seafood curry - not sure why that was in their promo photo since I literally came here for that. After finding that out, had to opt for something else. Can't go wrong with red curry anywhere. Pair it with rice and that's a solid meal. Tried their seafood eggplant.... There were sure a lot of eggplants in there so for all those eggplant lovers out there, this is your dish. I was hopping there would be more seafood. The flavor was good tho and it came on a sizzling plate so that was nice. I've also had their beef noodle soup and spicy wings of heaven here as takeout before. Their beef noodle soup was surprisingly not bad. Wing wise, flavorful but very small. Overall they do a good job on flavors here.

It rarely gets better than these types of locations. Literally within walking distance from our place. Looks like you're walking up to a neighbors front door upon entry. Well lit decorated entry and dining area. The service is eager to attend to every request. Everything was delicious and there was plenty leftover to take home after ordering for two. Always a plus! Interesting setup here.. looks to be a big house remodeled to be a restaurant? Parking was tight and limited - highly recommend street parking. Both items I ordered were great. I particularly enjoyed the crispiness of their spicy wings of heaven. Not sure about the spicy portion though. Maybe they thought we can't handle real spicy which is true lol. The duck noodle soup felt stacked and I didn't feel like they skipped on the proteins either. It's boneless too so feel free to slurp and eat away! We did noticed the service being slow from water refills to paying the bill. Not a dealbreaker so 4*.

I've been here before but didn't know it until my kids reminded me. We were in the area and we were looking forward to having Thai for dinner, especially at a place we never been but oh well, the reviews were great. We were seated immediately despite the busyness of the place. We decided to forego our usual Thai dishes and ordered chicken wings, shrimp pad thai and a fried pompano fish with the sweet and sour sauce on the side. The chicken wings came and looked good but taste wise- it was bland and the chicken had a strong "chicken" taste to it- can't explain but I didn't like it. If chicken could be called gamey, then that's what it was. And the chicken wings could've been fried more or it could have been double fried but either way they weren't that crispy. My Pompano fish looked really good but like the chicken, it was also not as crispy as it could be so either their oil wasn't as hot or they didn't cook it long enough I don't know, but I'm not a restaurant so I can't tell you . It's too bad because I was really looking forward to having a fried fish. The one thing that saved the entire meal was the combo dessert that we ordered. It was coconut ice cream with roti and mango and sticky rice. You can't go wrong with dessert so that was fine. It's too bad because I really wanted to like this place, especially after seeing all the good reviews. The service was really good though despite being busy, it was really friendly and warm so the service is at least four stars. It wasn't five star service because she did forget our drinks and I had to ask for it in the middle of our meal.

Everything was great. We went out for our anniversary and the food and service was excellent. From appetizers to dessert. Parking is good they have their own lot, and prices are high but not for the amount of food and flavors that come with it. We definitely will come back here again.

I absolutely love this place! Bua Thai Kitchen is my favorite Thai restaurant right now, and I don't mind driving out of my way to get there. I refuse to eat at any other Thai restaurants in my area because I'm obsessed with this one. Although I've never dined in, today I decided to order online for pickup to try some new dishes. Their menu is so extensive that I'm convinced everything on it is amazing. The only downside was the spicy basil tofu; the portion was surprisingly small, as if someone had already eaten half of it--almost like I paid for a kid's size. Fortunately, the portions for my other entrees were a bit small but not as much. However, I found that the medium spice level was more like no spice at all, as I couldn't taste any heat in my dish.

The customer service experience warranted 0 stars. The person at the cashier ignored me while helping several people who walked in the door after me. He seemed to go out of his way not to help me even though we made eye contact when I walked in the door. After patiently waiting, I finally spoke up as I could see my takeout order in a bag getting cold. He made no apology and was actually extremely rude and dismissive, as if I was invisible. Two stars because the food was good, but definitely don't go if you are looking for a positive customer service experience where you spend your money. read more

Had the yellow curry with Australian lamb and it was fantabulous. A generous portion and the lamb had such rich flavor one could tell it had been raised outside, eating healthful grass. I am so happy this place opened up a block from our house! Thai food is my favorite food, and I've tried every place around here for the past 5 years and nothing has compared to Moana's! My husband and I shared the pad Thai and yellow curry! The yellow curry was the best curry I've ever had! Pad Thai had great flavors too, and my 1 year old devoured it! I just had my son's graduation party at this place. I highly recommended them for serving very good food and excellent customer service from the owner Woody, his wife Bua and all their staff. Our guests enjoyed their delicious food. The place is so clean which a plus points for a restaurant. They are very accommodating and very warm receiving our guests. On our way back home from a family trip on Thanksgiving Day, I first opted for the McDonald's nearby because we were sure that it would be open. Nope. Thankfully, this place was open, and am I glad it was! Our family of three ordered Tom yum, pineapple fried rice (both witb tofu), and Panang curry beef. They were all excellent, except that my daughter asked me where the pineapple was in her rice. After failing to find or taste any, I asked them if the right order was placed. It turned out that the cook had forgotten to put pineapple slices. We told them that we were fine with whatever fried rice it was. And we truly were. The restaurant seemed so busy with to-go orders and dine-in customers. We were grateful just for the fact that it was open, and the food itself was really good. But they went ahead and made another pineapple fried rice for us and offered 15% off. (I am not sure if the discount was for Thanksgiving or the mix up, but either way, it was kind of them.) We will definitely try to come back though we live about an hour away! Oh, our favorite was panang curry beef, but everything was wonderful. read more

Their curries were super tasty and I loved that they were loaded generously with vegetables - bamboo shoots, zucchinis, carrots... mmm mmm! We added meat to our green and yellow curries but next time, we'll get it with their default protein which is tofu. Tried some of their appetizers like the satay - no complaints. The good: green salad rolls...delicious. The bad: temperature in the restaurant was in the mid fifties i.e. no heat. The tables were too small for the dishes we ordered. The coconut lemongrass and tom yum soups were good but the soup containers barely fit on the table; it was a serve yourself into cheap small plastic bowls; messy. Pad Thai was so so. The Seafood Eggplant was served on a metal plate; when brought to the table smoke was all over our wife's faces. For $25 the plate contained 2 or three small prawns, a piece of calamari, one mussel and practically no scallops and they were the cheapest quality. Mostly eggplant. Fix the tables, fix the service, fix the quantities and seafood quality and Bua Thai Kitchen might have a decent restaurant. read more

The food in is authentic, they're not exactly what you would fine in Thailand but pretty loyal the original taste. Their menu is different from other restaurants, they offer dishes that only known among Thais. We ordered Tom Sap which was really good. And such a basic dish like pan fried rice was excellent and took me back to a Thai street restaurant. We'll definitely be back. read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the East Bay! There are no short cuts taken in the cooking process. The curries taste like they've been slow cooking all day, and the meat falls apart. The flavors are exciting and balanced. I especially enjoy the Mango Salad, Panang Curry Beef, and the Pumpkin Curry. This is now the only Thai restaurant my partner and I go to. read more

This is a brand new place on San Pablo in Albany. I ordered take out of Spicy Wings, Pad See Ew with Beef, and Spicy Green Beans with Chicken, and side of Jasmine rice. Everything was delicious! The wings were nice and crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Pad See Ew had a nice balanced taste, and the Spicy Greens Beans mixed so well with the rice. I highly recommend this place for great tasting Thai food. read more

Depends on whether you're eating there or ordering to go. If you're eating there, it gets at least one more star. Maybe two. The kitchen is very good. But if you're ordering take out, it gets one less star. Maybe two. No one answers the phone. Ever. I've called over twenty times without a response. So I've tried their online ordering system. I've never had a successful order, using the same credit card that works everywhere else. I've mentioned this to them when I've come in, but either they don't understand or don't care. Which is a great pity, because the food is quite good. read more

Consistency is important, and customers should receive the same product regardless of which employee is working. Please provide better training to ensure portion sizes are consistent. Based on this experience, I won't be returning when this employee is working and will likely stay away for a while.

The lettuce wrap came in two steamed, wilted pieces of iceberg, while the brioche bun was untoasted, foamy-textured and soggy. Both medium burgers had the consistency of boiled meatballs. The bacon jam was decent, but the overall experience was wildly unappetizing. We also both got plain fries, which were somehow greasy and dry at the same time, and instantly turned stale as they cooled down. We really hoped for this place because it's conveniently located, and all the other decent burger spots nearby have closed, but sadly we won't be giving 310 Eatery a third try.

Mixed experience at Bua Thai Kitchen.** I placed a pick-up order through DoorDash, which involved a 30-mile drive. Upon arrival, I was greeted by an employee and directed to the counter where my order was ready. One bag had my name on it, while another was unlabeled. After being handed my ice cream and confirming that my drinks were included, I assumed the unlabeled bag was part of my order. When I reached for it, the employee abruptly snatched it from my hand, yelled 'NO!', and looked visibly upset, which left me feeling wrongfully accused of attempting to take something I didn't order. While I understand this may have been a misunderstanding, the situation could have been handled with more care and respect. Clearer labeling of orders and better communication would help prevent confusion like this. It was an unfortunate way to end what could have been a positive experience. As for the food, I must say it was quite tasty! The pumpkin curry with chicken, served with white rice, was a solid 7.5/10. The pineapple fried rice w/ chicken scored a 7/10 (while it was a bit bland, it paired well with the curry in my opinion), and the sticky rice mango with coconut ice cream and roti was an impressive 9.5/10. I came here with my family and my girlfriends family who came all the way from Italy and Hong Kong. First walking in we noticed a very clean, minimal and modern interior design. We were greeted with the head waiter name Ken and he was fantastic! Super friendly, great recommendations, and very attentive service. The menu was great and had a variety of modern and tradition Thai food along with western twists on their specials. We also met the cook who came from Thailand and made everything with an authentic touch. Service was top notch. And the beef noodle soup was very very good. Full of flavor and comforting. The menu is also full of not so standard options which I will definitely be back to try. Also the prices were very reasonable. I also made the very embarrassing faux pax of leaving my wallet at home but the owner without hesitation said don't worry I trust you to call me later with a credit card. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant for African Americans. The childlike server Penny behaves like a racist and Business manager Woody seemingly, has her back; or at the very least, had nothing to say critical of her deplorable behavior. I had a horrible experience which I detailed in a Yelp review, and it has mysteriously disappeared. Had been waiting to come to Bua Thai for a while and the food definitely lived up to the anticipation! Decor is simple, homey and elegant with flowers adorning the walls. Food was great and they have lots of great options on the menu. We had pad see ew and massaman curry. Both dishes were tasty but the curry was definitely the standout with incredibly tender meat. This is my new favorite Thai spot. The staffs are very friendly and attentive. The food are really amazing espcially Pad thai, it is not sweet but balancing flavor. My favorite dishes are Tom yum fried rice, crispy rice salad , fried dumpling, Tomyum soup noodle and mango sticky rice. They are always busy and it is worth waiting. One of my new place for Thai food. I ordered duck noodle soup because it's cold outside and I really need something warm and tasty. They have it on special menu so I ordered. It's perfect soup with good portions of duck and it's not too fat either. The service was attentive and the price is not too expensive. I will definitely try it out again. One of the best spots to eat real Thai food is Bua Thai Kitchen. This restaurant serves wonderful back rib noodles, fried tofu, coconut pad Thai, and shrimp tempura. The firm texture of fried tofu and the texture of Thai coconut pad Thai, with actual coconut meat and milk added, are two things I adore! The back ribs were juicy and simple to gnaw on. I love this Thai restaurant so much! They added new menu especially Duck noodles soup with Thai herbs and the best ingredients that they can fine. I do recommend it.
