We got takeout from Moana's last night and loved everything we got! We had Crispy Rolls which were good, but not remarkable though they did seem to come with a house made sauce which I appreciate. The stars were the Red Curry with Pork, the Coconut-Lemongrass Soup with Chicken, and the Pad Ke Mao with Chicken. All had a nice level of spiciness (we didn't ask for any particular level) and rich, delicious flavor. The vegetables and meat were perfectly cooked. The soup was thick and creamy with coconut. These dishes were all fantastic and we enjoyed them more than any other Thai restaurant in the area. It has been a while since we have had a go to Thai restaurant. This may be it. We will definitely be back to try more dishes soon! read more

This was some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time! The spring rolls were delicious, with particularly fresh shrimp and veggies and a very flavorful peanut sauce. The Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew were both excellent, with super wide and chewy rice noodles appeared to be homemade. Service is very kind and friendly. The first time I came, I called to see if I could order a non-spicy eggplant dish for my grandmother, and they were very accommodating. This place is a gem and I would highly recommend it! read more

We came here for a quick lunch. They have a small outdoor seating area which was nice in the sun (no heat lamps), and there is plenty of seating inside. We had the back rib noodle soup that was fantastic -- great depth of flavor in the soup, and the meat was tender/chewy and nicely flavored. We also had the pad see ew, which I ordered with tofu, and a little while later, they came back to ask if I was ok with egg, so it seems that they're pretty vegan friendly here (but I'm not vegan, so double check yourself when you visit here). I expected a larger portion for this price, or maybe some surprise, but the portion size was normal to me, and while the curry was good, it was pretty simple. The service was nice. I am so happy this place opened up a block from our house! Thai food is my favorite food, and I've tried every place around here for the past 5 years and nothing has compared to Moana's! My husband and I shared the pad Thai and yellow curry! The yellow curry was the best curry I've ever had! Pad Thai had great flavors too, and my 1 year old devoured it! My husband says the chicken wings are the best around, and he is excited to have a great place to get chicken wings for football Sunday's this fall! read more

The customer service experience warranted 0 stars. The person at the cashier ignored me while helping several people who walked in the door after me. He seemed to go out of his way not to help me even though we made eye contact when I walked in the door. After patiently waiting, I finally spoke up as I could see my takeout order in a bag getting cold. He made no apology and was actually extremely rude and dismissive, as if I was invisible. Two stars because the food was good, but definitely don't go if you are looking for a positive customer service experience where you spend your money. read more

Had the yellow curry with Australian lamb and it was fantabulous. A generous portion and the lamb had such rich flavor one could tell it had been raised outside, eating healthful grass. The food in is authentic, they're not exactly what you would fine in Thailand but pretty loyal the original taste. Their menu is different from other restaurants, they offer dishes that only known among Thais. We ordered Tom Sap which was really good. I just had my son's graduation party at this place. I highly recommended them for serving very good food and excellent customer service from the owner Woody, his wife Bua and all their staff. Our guests enjoyed their delicious food. The place is so clean which a plus points for a restaurant. They are very accommodating and very warm receiving our guests. On our way back home from a family trip on Thanksgiving Day, I first opted for the McDonald's nearby because we were sure that it would be open. Nope. Thankfully, this place was open, and am I glad it was! Our family of three ordered Tom yum, pineapple fried rice (both witb tofu), and Panang curry beef. They were all excellent, except that my daughter asked me where the pineapple was in her rice. After failing to find or taste any, I asked them if the right order was placed. It turned out that the cook had forgotten to put pineapple slices. We told them that we were fine with whatever fried rice it was. And we truly were. The restaurant seemed so busy with to-go orders and dine-in customers. We were grateful just for the fact that it was open, and the food itself was really good. But they went ahead and made another pineapple fried rice for us and offered 15% off. (I am not sure if the discount was for Thanksgiving or the mix up, but either way, it was kind of them.) We will definitely try to come back though we live about an hour away! Oh, our favorite was panang curry beef, but everything was wonderful. read more

This is a brand new place on San Pablo in Albany. I ordered take out of Spicy Wings, Pad See Ew with Beef, and Spicy Green Beans with Chicken, and side of Jasmine rice. Everything was delicious! The wings were nice and crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Pad See Ew had a nice balanced taste, and the Spicy Greens Beans mixed so well with the rice. Their curries were super tasty and I loved that they were loaded generously with vegetables - bamboo shoots, zucchinis, carrots... mmm mmm! The good: green salad rolls...delicious. The bad: temperature in the restaurant was in the mid fifties i.e. no heat. The tables were too small for the dishes we ordered. The coconut lemongrass and tom yum soups were good but the soup containers barely fit on the table; it was a serve yourself into cheap small plastic bowls; messy. Pad Thai was so so. The Seafood Eggplant was served on a metal plate; when brought to the table smoke was all over our wife's faces. For $25 the plate contained 2 or three small prawns, a piece of calamari, one mussel and practically no scallops and they were the cheapest quality. Mostly eggplant. Fix the tables, fix the service, fix the quantities and seafood quality and Bua Thai Kitchen might have a decent restaurant. read more
