This is a review that does not involve us eating here, but how we were treated! We drove to Golden Nugget to access the river walk and check things out for possible future visit. I'm disabled---in the super heat I was a little faint after being on the river walk... we saw Bubba Gumps outdoor deck right on the river, looked pleasant. Went inside and asked to be seated there--we only wanted to order drinks-- i.e. cocktails. They said "NO", you must order food to sit there. We weren't hungry, and tried to appeal to them. There were only TWO people on the deck, and 35 empty tables. This was 2pm-- too late for lunch, too early for dinner or happy hour. Wouldn't it be better to have two paying customers ordering rum cocktails? I guess not, they were adamant we could not sit there for just drinks, so we left. So SCREW THEM. If we do go back to the Golden Nugget for a vacation, I am NOT eating there. read more

Definitely go here if you don't want to eat and plan to leave unhappy. It wasn't busy so we thought it would be a fantastic experience. The hostess seated us, tossed down the menus, and said someone else would bring a highchair for our son- and they did, which is the only positive thing I can say. This was our first visit here and we were so excited, too bad we didn't get to taste the food. After 10 minutes of watching others get served and tables all around us bussed, we still had not been acknowledged. I guess life is like a box of chocolates... I loved the movie forest Gump but I am sorry to say I don't feel the same about Bubba Gumps. I will keep this short and to the point. I am a food connoisseur, there is nothing special about this place and their prices are ridiculous for the portions. Do yourself a favor, if you want sea food, go to any other place you will probably get better food and prices. About 9oz of shrimp scampi (pasta and all) 18.99$... no thank you. I went here tonight after finding out they have a gluten free menu. I asked to speak with a manager since the gf menu listed a scant amount of items (with no prices). I was curious why the "Steamed crab" wasnt listed on their gf side...the hostess couldn't answer me so she got a manager. He came up front and told me there was no reason why it wouldnt be on the menu...I agreed to eat here (alone on a business trip after 13 hours in the car). I explained again to my waitress how serious I had to be about having the chef use clean utensils and new gloves...even asking her to write gluten free all over my ticket...I ordered a shrimp cocktail and the steamed crab (after all day thinking I was eating at Joe's crab shack....to find Bubba gumps where Joes used to be)...when the waitress brough the cocktail, it was fine...not great as they lumped a large pile of horseradish in the middle of my cocktail sauce....but the real treat was when she sent another waitress I hadnt seen before to my table with a nice pot of steamed crab and the most beautiful slice of garlic bread right next to the pot!!! (To me this is worse than placing vodka in front of a drunkard) (What part of gluten free did they not understand????) I immediately tell this new lady that no thats not my order because I ordered gluten FREE. She is still trying to put the tray down and give me this tray....NOOOOO you don't lady. My original waitress was a few tables away so new waitress goes to old waitress and confers for a few seconds before old waitress jumps up and apologizes and rushes off to handle this. Manager #2 arrives to apologize and ask questions about my gluten allergy...backing down quickly when I tell him I will know before my bill comes if I got sick from their food...then he goes on to tell me about a kid he met once who was so allergic to seafood that he "should be in a bubble" (no joke)...long story long...finally get my crab (note to self...dont order crab after driving for 13 hours straight..its too much damn work...especially as this location does not think you need a pick to crack and eat crab. Mini person fork and crackers yes, pick, no....) waitress #1 informed me they probably had them when it was joe's crab shack....too bad it wasn't ... If I could put 0 stars, I would. My husband, me, my in laws, and my grandparent in laws went to Laughlin a couple months ago. We stay in Laughlin at LEAST 2 times a year. This was our first time at Bubba Gumps and seeing as I had been there before at City Walk, I was very excited. We got there and were wanting to watch a football game that was on. Without exaggerating, from the time we asked them to turn a tv to the game to when they actually did was at least 45 minutes. We started by asking our waitress to asking every other waitress that walked by to them ignoring our question to finally having to get the bartender to change it. We hadn't even ordered our food yet! Finally the game was on and we were already annoyed by the staff. Although we noticed the prices on the food, we thought it would at least be worth it. I ordered the mac and cheese and it was watery. Not creamy and not the least bit appetizing. I only ate about a quarter of it. None of us were happy with our meals at least for the price we paid for it. Horrible service, horrible food, and the Golden Nugget should really replace it. We miss Joe's Crab Shack. read more

Went there for dinner on a girls trip. It was a bad experience from the beginning. The food took over an hour to get to our table, not a sorry about the wait, nothing , from our waitress. She didn't bring one of the meals, we waited for almost 30 minutes for her to come back and say she didn't put in the order, again, not a sorry about that, what can I get you?, nothing...worse waitress I've have ever had. The whole thing was a shit show!. We had to start eating or all our food would have been cold , another 30 minutes or more goes by from the time she came and said the order wasn't put in. Needless to say we talked to the manager a number of times and nothing was resolved. The manager should have went to the kitchen had them make the meal immediately and got it to our table. That did not happen, we did start to complain again to both the manager and the waitress...still no food and our table is done eating...then the waitress brings out, not 1, but 3 extra large glasses of water and places it in front of my friend, who hadn't gotten her meal. It was the craziest thing!...by that time we were done eating and asked for the check and they bring her meal out, probably almost 2 hours after initially ordering and we're done and ready to get out of there. The whole thing was a joke! I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, nor ever go there again. Also the food was not good, overpriced for the quality of food you receive. We go out to eat often and it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Oh, the manager took off the meal we never got, how nice of her, and an order of garlic bread that we got because we were starving waiting for our meals...I think I have asked, maybe 3 times, in my life, to take something off the bill, but in my opinion, the manager should have comped more of the fiasco! read more

Have been to bubba gumps at other locations. This one is my bar the worst. We sat on the outside patio. Nice atmosphere. Our waitress was unfriendly but everyone else was great! My son loved the fried chicken, but overall for me, food is not that great and overpriced. I don't know why but I am not impressed with Bubba Gumps anymore. We use to eat at the one in Daytona Beach a bunch of times and always enjoyed going. What happen I have no idea... but eating here reinforced that its the theme and not the food that people come here for. The food We think is over priced for what you get. It was our Anniversary and we decided to go here. So we started off with the shrimp mac and cheese. The price was over $10 we thought it would be enough to share it is very small for that kind of money. It is good but no where worth the money we paid for it my husband could have eaten 2 of these by himself for a appetizer! We both were in the mood for Fish and decided to get the Captain's Fish & Chips which is Traditional Beer battered. this was over $14 and knowing my husband is a big eater he ordered the bigger portion for like $3 something. It was ok nothing special it was kinda greasy and my husband regretted ordering the bigger portion but the waiter made it sound like he would not be full on the smaller one it is just too much fried food to eat and a bunch of fries to make it look like a lot of food. The only good thing we did appreciate was being told about the card you can get points for your meals and money for your birthday to have dinner there, This is nice you can use at other restaurants not just here. We went there yesterday to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant was nearly empty, so we were served fairly fast but the food was HORRIBLE. We had the bucket of shrimp ordered "garlic shrimp" and sides of brussel sprouts. The sprouts were raw - not fit to eat. I sent them back and they returned just BARELY cooked.... this is an item you would feed to barnyard animals, not humans. The shrimp had been boiled in old water that had sausage in it previously so our shrimp had NO garlic flavor and was coated with sausage grease: it reeked so much of sausage that you couldn't taste the shrimp. SO GROSS. Keep the Landry's card - we won't be back for overpriced food fixed so poorly that a child could have done better!! read more

So this was the first time my husband and I have ever been to this particular seafood chain. Have to say was not impressed at all. The price for the food was outrageous and you did not get a lot of food for what you paid for. Honestly the entree was more like a bar appetizer. I also specifically said I'm sensitive to spice and I wanted garlic butter flavor and no spice. It came out and it was still spicy. The waitress asked how was it so I told her it was spicy and it was hard for me to eat, all she said was oh sorry about that and then walked away! She came back about 10 min later and asked my husband if we were saving room for desert- he said no so she said ok, here's your bill. I wasn't even done eating yet! She also asked him how his meal was and he said meh.. it was ok not what I was expecting- again oh I'm sorry about that and then bolted. The entire staff was unprofessional, everyone at the front was just gossiping and "hanging out" the manager walked by and literally joined in- he obviously did not care is staff was rude and obnoxious. Seriously don't waste your money! You can get a better meal/ experience at red lobster or Joe's Crab Shack. Hell even angry Crab is better. This was not worth the time or the money ! Very very poor! First time to a Bubba Gump's. A Golden Nugget Laughlin location with a beautiful outside river view but at 100 degrees we easily chose the comforts of the bar. I had the jambalaya and my fellow diners, including a native New Orleaner, preferred the Shrimp Po' Boy, but I believe i made the better choice. read more

The one good thing was the waiter. He was very pleasant. We had a party of 4; and paid over $90. Very expensive and not worth it! Once we sat down at the table, we realized it was freezing. They did turn the fans off over our tables, but it was still blowing cold air and very uncomfortable. We did complain about the cold, but they said it was throughout the casino and could not turn it off. My mother and I ordered the shrimp trio (coconut shrimp, fried shrimp and the steamed/cold shrimp) with french fries. The coconut and fried shrimp were okay, but the steamed/cold shrimp had not been deveined AT ALL. Some of them had a small cut on their backs, but you could see the poop inside and had not been cleaned. Most of them had not even been cut at all. It was totally disgusting. I mentioned it to the waiter and he said "we have someone in the back who cleans shrimp all day". They did not offer to compensate us or deduct anything form our meal. A manager never even checked on us. HORRIBLE! My daughter had the bucket of crab legs and all the butter was in the bottom of the bucket (under the crab legs). By the time she was halfway through her crab legs, her hands were so slimy from the butter, she couldn't even hang onto the crab to crack it. We were headed to Joe's Crab Shack and didn't realize it had changed hands to Bubba Gump, but we WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! read more

Came with a group of 10 during Regatta weekend. Surprisingly it wasn't too packed and we were seated right away. Our server (forgot her name-damn you alcohol!) was awesome. She took our drink and appetizer orders right away and told us about some of the new menu features. She gave us time to get situated and wait until everyone in our party arrived. Not happy. The crab pot was disappointing for someone who is a crab expert. The shrimp linguine pasta was really good. The bread you get with your meals was not good soggy and tasteless . Having previously been to Bubba Gump in San Francisco, I knew a little of what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to discover that this location in Laughlin was just as good as the gorgeous one in the Bay. We sat in the bar to enjoy happy hour and the drinks didn't disappoint. We opted to go with a few of the apps on the happy hour menu as well as one large entree with an assortment of shrimp. The apps were really good - the artichoke dip and steak nachos being our favorite. The entree included grilled shrimp, coconut shrimp, breaded shrimp and tempura shrimp along with dipping sauces and french fries. All of the shrimp were excellent with the exception of the grilled ones. They were overcooked, dry and rubbery. The sauces were a perfect compliment to each shrimp - classic cocktail sauce, a remoulade sauce and a sort of teriyaki dip. The portions are large and the apps and entree easily fed 3 of us with leftovers. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great - it was a busy dinner rush with fun servers and all sorts of eye catching pictures, art and knick knacks to peruse. There are lots of photo ops here and they even have a bench out front with a suitcase and box of chocolates a la Forrest Gump. Downsides? It was HOT in there. Yep, we went during summer in Laughlin and granted, there is an outside seating area right along the river that appeared to have been somewhat open to the indoor portion but we were well inside the restaurant in the bar area and it was almost uncomfortably hot. (Thank you, cold drinks!) Also, the hostesses were less than friendly and sort of acted like we were pestering them when we approached for a table. First impressions are everything and had we not been really, really craving some shrimp we may have gone elsewhere. Happy hour wasn't necessarily all that happy when it came to prices. I get that this is a restaurant inside a hotel/casino so naturally everything's going to cost slightly more than a stand alone location but I'm used to dirt cheap happy hour prices and the prices here seemed to be just average prices at any other restaurant during non-happy hour (or would it be unhappy hour? hmmmm....) All in all, it's a fun spot in an otherwise pretty bleak array of dining choices in Laughlin. Yeah, it's a national chain but it has a certain charm and flair that makes it worth it. read more

We had group of 12 and were fortunate that they had an opening on a Saturday night. The food is reasonably good with most around shrimp, crab, fish etc. Service was pretty good for being a large group and crowded. The restaurant is lively. We were able to bring in our own wine which was nice. This is the second time our group has eaten here. The Saltgrass steakhouse and Claim Jumper are also in the Golden Nugget hotel and casino. The others were long lines and limited to no ability to take reservations. Bubba Gump has made room and it has worked out. read more
