Although atmosphere was a little bit depressing. Music Playlist needed to be updated to some music that was more uplifting. I shouldn't have to label barbecue sauce on it to have a good rib. However, your thoughts also are very bland and uninteresting. The sidewinder fries are basically like potato wedges. It was fried to crispy perfect and the brisket topping was yummm. - Bubba's wings: I ordered the sweet chili sauce and I loved this also. Thought the wings were fried well and the sauce is mainly sweet with a spicy kick so beware if you cannot handle the heat. - All beef burger with fries: Orders the patty medium rare and it actually came out cooked as specified. Scarfed this down in no time. Pretty simple burger with no sauce in it! They have a number of sauces on the table for you (mango habanero, bbq, sweet chili) so I added it to my burger. Ribs were fatty and could not taste anything but the sauce. The onion rings were average ... but then were barely warm so made it that much worse. The slaw had a strange taste ... the corn bread also average. This was not a bbq that was focused on the smoking if the meats, but rather pushing out quantity. The service was fine. Came here recently for dinner, covid protocol in place. Patio dining only, which was challenging even with the misters. 105 degree heat with unusually high humidity. So, the food was decent. I got the Bubba Burger. It was ok. Fam had baby back ribs (excellent according to son), caesar salad (ok), pretzel (good), and bbq chicken salad (ok). Also got the Baja street corn (excellent and the saving grace for the entire meal). Ok, so service was nice, but really slow. Weird because the place has about 4 tables. Food took a long time to come out...two hours later...had to ask for water refills...two hours later...son had to track down a server for dessert. And when you're sweating in your seat, it seems a lot longer. Bill was dropped off and again, the waiting...they seriously had four tables (actually 3 because one was a party of about 6) and we were the last table standing for the last 45 minutes. And there were at least 3 waiters. I counted them. All in all, not sure how this place rates 4.5 stars. Maybe the whole corona thing messed with them. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a good bbq spot in Palm Desert! Since covid isn't allowing dine-in, we had to get take out and I thought our food was packaged nicely. After going in to pick up our food, it looked like there was a bunch of different beers on tap which would be pretty cool to check out once dine-in opens back up. I got the half rib plate which also comes with two sides. For the half rib option, you get about 4-6 bones and let me tell you.. the meat falls right off the bone! The sauce was superb and wasn't overly sweet either. I also got french fries and mac n cheese for my sides and I was satisfied. We also tried Bubba's burger and we thought it was lackluster. My two golf buddies and I each ordered a differently and we ate family style. Mike had the ribs, fries and slaw; Tai had the pulled pork mitch, slaw and fries. Me? I went for the Mac Daddy (?). Burger paddy medium rare, topped with a slice of brisket and BBQ sauce that was topped with Mac'n'cheese and then a bun. Honestly, have not had better BBQ anywhere! We had two rounds of Bubba's brews which were equal to the meal and a fine compliment. Portions were large, Mike took home half of his and we all left uneaten fries. We happened to find this place while were in Rancho Mirage for NYE. We had hit some of the normal spots, but wanted to try something different. The wait staff here was amazing and instantly made you feel at home. The place is not too small, but I think it would be hard to accommodate a few large parties. The food was excellent the beer selection was GREAT. I had the Korean Ribs as my meal and it was more enough to satisfy! The food prices aren't that bad and they have weekly specials.
