The products are just expensive bread in the shape of bagels--not bagels. All you need do is observe the outer surface of these products, which are not shiny like a true bagel, just grainy like a loaf of bread. Then when you take a bite, you see a lot of voids in the interior, i.e., the denseness of a true bagel is missing. My guess is that these products are not boiled before being baked, which accounts for the poor quality. I can only hope that the Bagel Joint reopens, because Bubbe's is not selling bagels, just shaped bread to fool the uninitiated. read more

The bagels are delicious. Her hours leave something to be desired. Every Christmas I serve brunch. I serve bagels and... I arrived at the Wilmot location at 2:20 only to learn they close at 2:00. So I'm going back to Bruegger's for bagels and cream cheese for Christmas brunch. Sorry Bubbe's. read more

The bagels are large and delicious. Best in town after the bagel joint that is now closed. They plan to open at Campbell and River soon, which will be much closer for us. read more

Very good bagel with a giant heap of cream cheese! Cute little local shop that is still enforcing masks inside ( this pregnant lady thanks you!!) One star off because I asked for my bagel toasted and it was ice cold when I opened it so I'm assuming it did not get toasted. Still tasty though read more

Bubbe's never disappoints!!!! It has become my new obsession the employee always go above and beyond to make me as a costumer happy. I recently tried the Ham and cheese, The Reuben, and this morning I tried the egg and cheese and I added ham to the sandwich. When I ordered the person that placed my order was very accommodating when I requested less of the portion sizes of eggs .. When I tried the sandwich I had no idea it came with a pickle on the side... LET ME YOU THE PICKLES ARE AMAZING!!! It says a lot since I don't consider myself the biggest fan of pickles. My usual order is either a cinnamon raisin bagel with honey lavender cream cheese or the cinnamon crunch bagel with lavender honey cream cheese. Every time I come home from college I always take either a dozen or half a dozen bagels with an 8 oz container of the lavender honey cream cheese.. BRINGING BUBBE'S BAGELS UP TO COLLEGE WITH ME IS LIKE BRINGING A PIECE OF HOME WITH ME !!!! I am so glad bubbe's bagels opened!!!! read more

I pulled up into the parking lot at Bubbe's Fine Bagels and I saw many people waiting in line out the door. I immediately has a flashback to Flatlands Ave in Brooklyn N.Y. There was an iconic bagel place that had relatively no inside seating. It was a storefront that sold heavenly bagels, and bialys by the way, with whatever spreads, or shall I say shmears, you wanted. There was a beverage case (Dr. Brown's sodas, Yoo-hoos, etc.) and another cold case in front that had lox, whitefish. chopped liver, cream cheese, pure butter, and once in a while, a soup choice to take home. Bagel for breakfast, matzo ball soup for lunch. How you can go wrong with that? By the way, whitefish was a staple with a bagel and lox breakfast. Back then they didn't sell coffee, but these days, coffee needs to be a welcome addition which Bubbe's does have. Bubbe's Fine Bagels reminded me of that iconic bagel storefront. That's the way bagels are supposed to be sold my friends. Bubbe's does have some outside seating available conducive to Tucson's weather. I tried the bagels and I was impressed. The bottom was a little on the crispy side; not bad though, but the top was soft, but dense, and it had that bagel texture that all bagels should have. I think this place can definitely make it. On a personal note, I wish they would add some of the items I mentioned above to their menu. All in all, good job folks. I will see you again. read more

I was super excited to try this place and left for work early to pop in. It was moderately busy, which was good to see. I'll say up front, the bagel was fantastic. I got an everything bagel toasted with chive schmear and added cucumbers and onions. The bagel was tasty with great texture and the generous amount of schmear was appreciated. Even the veggies were cut nice and thin. I only had two concerns. For one, with only a few people in the place, they were a little slow in getting my and other patrons' orders out, which would be fine for me later in the day, but not on a work morning or lunch break. Hopefully, that timing improves as staff keep logging hours and they get their systems going. The bigger issue I had is that my entire bagel/bag/wrapper smelled like fish and consequently so did my car and even my office when I brought it into work. They sell a lot of bagels with different fish on them, and I do not know if they handled my food with gloves they had touched fish with or used a knife to cut mine that had cut a sandwich with fish on it. Either way, the cross contamination is definitely a concern. read more

I have gone to pick up bagels 3 times now and it's a 23 minute ride for me. I think the bagels are excellent (4.5 stars) but also think there are other aspects of this business that could use improvement. First time I went i was shorted bagels and told when i called that next time they would give me a couple of extras and were very apologetic. The next time i went, they gave me one extra bagel! I always get a dz but JUST found out that their dozen is supposed to be a bakers dz (13), which is typical. They have not included the 13th bagel until today when i ordered on line instead of when i went in the store. i had to order on line as trying by phone 9 times to place the order resulted in a continuous ringing and eventual clicking off. The phone was never answered. I wanted to place 3 separate orders which i was unable to do on line and eventually just ordered the one order of a dz. Thats a shame that the system would not allow for the other two orders. Lastly, i have never been to a bagel store (I'm from Chicago) where plastic bags are not put in with the order-you shouldn't have to ask for that IMHO. I truly hope that Bubbe's does well because as i say, the bagels are delicious. But i also hope these other issues can be resolved. read more
