For those looking for a study spot, this is not the ideal study spot. There are not many outlets and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable to sit in. If you need to use the bathroom, you need to go through the kitchen area. They only use powders and syrups in their drinks. No fresh fruit. All hot snacks are $5.50. I ordered the popcorn chicken and a Thai iced tea with boba. The popcorn chicken was more fried bits and less meat; their Thai tea was strong; and the boba was chewy, but smaller than usual. Not the best place for boba, but the only decent place in San Marcos. Conveniently located by SMHS. Good place to hangout with friends for some boba. They also have some games and cards to play with. They have a variety of different flavors and drinks... slushy, ice cream shake, hot tea, icy, milk teas.... Workers are ok... Once in a while they mess up on my order, and sometimes I feel like they act rude when I'm ordering. They don't do very well on recommendations if it's your first time here either. Not sure if this place is closed because it is never open and if it is the worker is always hiding in The back and customers have came in and stand around waiting. The door will be locked and there are no signs at all, if they went on break. no hours of operation posted on the door. On Yelp it says open until midnight so maybe they have their hours confused. After lunch at Phil's BBQ, this was the closest boba place I could find. Located in a college town in a convenient little shopping center, my drink definitely exceeded my expectations! Upon entering I thought to myself "mehh..their menu is pretty standard- teas, slushes, flavors, etc. just get your regular" And so Almond Milk Tea it was! The flavor was actually pretty good! A little too sweet for my mom, but I heard you could ask for less sugar, so that's a nice option. It wasn't too milky, but I would like some more tea in it cause it was mostly just almond flavor. The boba was nice and chewy, much better than I'd expect from somewhere not in the 626 area! My only complaint is when I reached the bottom, I never realized that the top ~1.5 inch or so was all like.. foam? cause I guess they shake their drinks to mix it, but the whole top part is all foamy milk that could've been tea.. but just a small complaint there. Be aware that this place uses only powders in syrup to make their drinks, The quality of the Boba is far below subpar and the Matcha and Thai tea taste watery and lack flavor. If you know good boba this is not the spot to go. The one star would have to be for the playlist and the friendliness of the cashier. For people who have boba multiple times a week, this was an utter disappointment. We were happy to see that this place was open until midnight, which is unlike most restaurants in North County. But, we wish we would have never discovered this place. For starters, the customer service was not up to par. The sales lady was rude and acted like our questions were bothersome. We had two separate orders, and instead of taking both orders, she took one order, walked away to make the drink, while the other stood there and waited, making the whole experience awkward from the start. Then, they also charged an extra 25 cents just for using a credit card. Although we understand some places still do this, it was weird that she did not inform us of this fee. Once we got our drinks (which were made in less than 30 seconds), they were very disappointing. Not only were the drinks not fully mixed, but we wondered how they made the drinks so quickly. Originally, we were surprised with how many flavors (38) this place had, but we soon realized all of the flavors were made from powder and syrup, which is why our drinks lacked taste and the right consistency. What made this experience a complete failure was the boba itself. Not only was it too big to fit through the straw (making it impossible to sip the drink properly) but it was completely tasteless. In one of our drinks, there was a minimal amount of boba, while the other drink had an abundant amount of it. Typically, boba has a very soft and chewy texture. But this boba was not that. As we were drinking our drinks, we noticed a dry, crunchy, foreign substance in our drinks. We immediately spit the matter out in complete shock. It was not just one boba where this happened, but several of them. It tasted as though they were stale and had been sitting around (EW!). After this horrible occurrence, we ended up throwing away both of our drinks before finishing even half of them. Such a disappointment from start to finish and would NOT recommend this place. If you have tried franchise/commercial drinks like from Quicklys or Tapioca Express, you are getting pretty much the same thing but at a higher price. Boba milk tea is a good standard to compare drink quality among tea shops. The milk tea here is made from powder flavoring and the boba has been sitting around for a while. You can tell from your first bite into the boba; the inside is too firm and breaks apart after one chew. The milk tea is not so good either. Didnt even have to look at them make it to notice that they use powder. It had a weird chocolate aftertaste. $5.50 for fried snacks, pretty pricey if you ask me. However, I give them props for the variety of flavors they offer. "Litchi" is the first time ive seen that spelling, haha. Open till midnight for your late night cravings, but i probably wont be returning. read more

I checked out this place with my workmates, none of whom had tried boba before. The server there was great - he let my mates try multiple flavors and gave them a little primer on what boba was and how the drink works. They have an interesting way of making their drinks, where you can combine multiple flavors together and design your own personalized drink. Not typical for a boba shop, but great for folks who like customization. The server was great about helping with this. I had a typical flavor - almond milk tea, and I added lychee jelly to the drink. I felt that the flavor was too sweet, and the mix wasn't mixed up enough, so there was a lot of sediment and areas of varying flavor throughout the drink. On the plus side, the server was very generous with the jelly he put into my drink and the boba he gave my mates. Price wise, a bit expensive for boba, at $4.25 for a standard size. The restaurant is pretty dimly lit, but has games and couches. Here's the score: Food: 2/5 Price: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall, 2.75, round to 3 for that excellent server. This places goes up and down with me. I've been coming to this place since high school and the thing is that I feel like the staff in the evenings just don't care. Bubble Tea is your typical boba shop with the drinks and simple bites. The boba can be in milk teas, slushies, ice cream shakes and more. I like the stuff here but like I said, I love when I came and the owners were at the shop and would take care of the guest. One of the cool things is that this is one of the main boba shops in the north county area and they are open late. They also have cool different things that you can add in with the boba. read more

Quite possibly the worst boba tea I have ever had. The tapioca balls had very mushy texture like they had been soaking too long and tasted strange. Pretty cheap for boba but I'd pass on the flavor (way too sweet). Cashier was nice and their rewards program is get 10 drinks get the 11th for free. Place is small and could be updated but no biggie. I wandered into Bubble Tea the other day as I have a habit of wandering into stores that confuse and/or frighten me ie. Hollister. I didn't know what bubble tea is, and I still don't. All I know is that this place transported me to a different world. I was no longer a 20-something white male but rather a 16 year old Asian girl. I had butterflies in my stomach... would they accept me as one of their own or would I stand out as an obvious outsider? It was like 6th grade all over again. I pondered ordering the Green Bean Slush, or the Fried Squid Balls... but I finally decided on the Thai Tea Boba... I had had Thai iced tea before and felt somewhat in my element. It tasted like Thai tea... there was "boba" on the bottom. Again, confusing and frightening. This place is A-Ok in my book! I should have taken a second huge straw for the road as proof. Went here on several occasions. The first few times were uneventful and the drinks weren't bad. The other customers that are always there seem to be young and sometimes ghetto. I've often watched some of them due to them looking sketchy. They tend to get a little weird on the sofa that they have at the store. The last and final time I went here, the guy was one of the rudest people I have come across. He obviously didn't like his job. He obviously wasn't happy. He made us feel like we were an inconvenience and had attitude when I had a question about which type of boba to get. He upset me enough that I have banned this store and will never go back. This probably could have been avoided if they had some sort of management/oversight. Just seems like the store is being run by a young group that doesn't have the expertise. 3.5 stars! I've been here on several occasions to get their bubble tea. I've always had great luck with the people who work here - the guy who works during the day is always there to greet you with a friendly smile and will send you off with great wishes for the day and a nod of appreciation for you coming into the store. Love that! The drinks here are good but their boba is a little soft/soggy which kind of bums me out. Also, they don't put enough ice in the drinks so it tends to get warm fast. When I'm in a pinch, I pop on in but they aren't my favorite joint to get my boba fix. I love the service here though. Watch out for the high school crowd that comes flocks in after school. Awesome chill out spot. Frequented by the younger crowd since it is located across from San Marcos High School. They have a great variety of flavors for boba drinks. One of the most popular choices is the milk tea boba. So if you are new to the boba game and want to play it safe, try out the milk tea boba. This location has a kitchen so they can serve small snacks. The location in Oceanside does not. I always order the popcorn chicken. It's a bit spicy and crispy. Great tasting popcorn chicken. Make sure to get a stamp card from the cashier. Get 10 stamps on your card and you get a free drink. How cool is that? This was the second boba place I ever tried, my first being tea station. I was craving boba so I was super excited to find a place closer to me! This is like 15 minutes away while Tea Station is about 40. The milk tea is AMAZING~ I think it's my favorite~ but the boba isn't that great, but it's way better at this location than the Oceanside one. I have only tried the normal milk tea and the taro snow. They are both super yummy but my first choice is always just normal milk tea. Also you can add extra boba for like 25 cents, which is worth it~ lol They have the good cups with the seal lids so you don't spill anything. Overall I'd recommend Bubble Tea :) very good. read more

Usually by the time that my friends & I are ready to meet up, it's past the closing time of most businesses. One major advantage of Bubble Tea is the fact that it's open until midnight--great for night owls like myself. This is also one of the few (and IMO the best) boba spots in north county. The owners, James and Sally, are very friendly and are usually the ones working when I come in later at night. Service is fast and the quality is consistent. My go-to drinks include the delicious thai tea ice cream shake, matcha green tea ice cream shake & boba milk tea. The drinks menu is fairly expansive,though, and I've enjoyed almost all of the ones that I've tried. The quality is comparable or a little higher than boba chains like Tapioca Express but I prefer to patronize a nice mom & pop business like this one. I really like how they added a sofa and a couple comfortable armchairs to the interior of the store. My one major complaint is that ALL of the other furniture is metal, ugly and uncomfortable. Replacing this patio furniture would go a long way towards making Bubble Tea a lot nicer and comfortable inside. read more

I've been going here for years when in need of a boba drink. They've got a bunch of different flavors to choose from. The prices are ok, not too bad and pretty competitive as far as pearl drinks go. I always go with the honey dew tea. The consistency at this place is pretty good. I can't recall not getting a drink that tasted differently from the other. The only downfall is that on occasions the boba isn't chewy. At times it comes soft and has the wrong texture to it. After coming here a few times, you'll see what I mean. read more

I noticed new employees have been hired and the Asian girl is very rude and sarcastic all the time, I honestly hate coming in when she's there because she's really weird and always makes me feel uncomfortable. My family and I have been coming here since this place opened and I love this boba joint. The store hasn't changed much since they opened just a rearrangement of their photos on the wall. The husband of the owner passed away and his wife runs the business by herself now. It seemed he loved taking pictures because there's a ton of film on the walls! My sisters and some of my friends are on the wall. It's so cute because they were babies back then and we're all grown up now. I tried hard to like this place because boba shops are rare in North County. The service was great and the staff friendly. We thought it was closed at first since the neon light sign was turned off and the shop was empty. We went in we were greeted by the I owner I assume. She was in the middle of leaving but took our order first. This shop is really out dated. They had a good list of flavors and you have the option of adding boba or jelly for extra. For what you get it felt a little overpriced. The walls are adorned with a photo collage of what I can assume are customers for who knows how long ago maybe the 90's? They also posted family photos. There is a book shelf with some old games and decorated with fake vegetables. The drinks were decent but left a powder after taste. Boba was cooked really well, it was soft and chewy. So I come into this place 1/15/17 (Sunday) around 7:30pm and ask for a Strawberry shake with Boba, when I walked in there was a lady ahead of me, she gets her Shake and leaves, then comes back about 60 seconds later to complain that the shake tastes weird and powdery, at first I was thinking that it was weird because how can you mess up a simple boba shake right? well I get mine and pop a straw in it and head out, as soon as I get outside I taste it and notice it is NOT GOOD!!! I think to myself although someone else complained let me just ignore it and suck it up (No Pun intended) but as I sat in my car, I was also thinking to myself, if I don't tell him how bad the shake is, he is going to keep making them this way and therefore piss off a bunch of other people, I know I know...its better to be pissed off then pissed on..BUT I decided to go tell him anyway... I walk inside and say "I don't want my money back, I just want to let you know that this shake is NO BUENO!!! he then says "Sorry I can't give you your money back" I think to myself where in the H.E. Double Hockey Sticks did this guy here me say I wanted my money back when I opened my statement saying "I don't want my Money Back"..Ok so maybe this guys English is not good and he didn't understand me? so here is the kicker... The slush separates too quick. If I let my drink sit for a quick minute, 3 layers would form and that's not including the boba. Papaya mango is my current crush. Somehow, every time I come here the kitchen is closed. Good thing, there's a Carl's Jr in the same lot to complement and help satisfy my salty craving with a 99 cents spicy chicken sandwich and fresh hot fries.
