"small" onion rings - they are really good
Kurt P.

Hadn't been here for a couple years. Their Big 10 Bar is the best place in Tucson to watch the Badgers games, so we decided to go for the Big 10 final. The Badgers lost, but we won because we had great beer and food during the game in a great atmosphere. My wife had the reuben which was absolutely fantastic. I know that because I had to help her finish it :-) I had the pulled pork sandwich, and it was wonderful but I would have liked just a little bit more pork on there. We start with the onion rings which are great, and ended with a shared piece of cheesecake which we agreed was top notch. It's on the drier side, but that's the style I like personally. We need to come here more often. Hopefully the Badgers will give us a good reason to!!

We followed the recommendations of our friendly and knowledgeable server, Steve! Food quality was excellent. The "sports" bar and main dining area are charming, folksy and unpretentious. Very comfortable relaxed environment. We highly recommend this gem in Catalina.

Family stopped by there on Saturday for lunch. Wonderful food and dessert. I ordered the cheese curds for appetizer and they were terrific. For lunch I had the 3 item Combo with brisket and pork - both were delicious. For dessert the cheesecake with extra caramelWas perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive. Loved the western down to earth theme.

My gal & I went there yesterday and we really enjoyed the delicious brisket. Along with an ice cold beer, it can't be beat.

I drove an hour round trip to find out "we're not serving food in the bar area". Why the hell not?!

I will say it did take a little while to get service at first, but honestly the incredible view and perfect weather made it easy to just relax and enjoy the moment while we waited. They started us off with warm sourdough bread and butter, which was the perfect touch. I ordered the prime rib sandwich on sourdough with au jus, and it was absolutely delicious, super flavorful and cooked perfectly. I also got the strawberry vanilla margarita with a sugar rim, and WOW... easily one of the best drinks I've had. So good. My grandparents each ordered the prime rib sliders without the bun with a loaded baked potato and made their own yummy creations, which they loved. The view was amazing and really made the whole experience, and our waitress, Paulina, was so kind and attentive once we got going. Definitely recommend if you're looking for great food, drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere!

The steak, unfortunately, didn't hit the mark. It came out closer to medium well instead of medium rare, with some parts fully well done. It was also a bit dry and overly seasoned--almost like the grill wasn't cleaned properly. That said, the vibe of the place is really cool--dark, moody, and a nice atmosphere. I'd probably come back for the appetizers and drinks, but would skip the steak next time.

My husband and I go out to eat too much in my opinion; however, there are two of us in the house. I have posted good reviews and not so good reviews. Tonight is a great review of Mi Tierra Mexican Restaurant. Carolina, the owner is always so welcoming and friendly. Tonight our server was Diego. He defines great service. He was not overboard with anything; however, anything we asked for came quickly and with a smile. I ordered the chicken fajitas and they were wonderful; although, for my taste a little salty. My husband had the ground beef burrito served smothered with red sauce. He said "Now this is what a burrito should taste like". The chips and salsas were plentiful and speaking of salsa they have brought it up a couple of notches. I mentioned this to Carolina and her comment was "do you remember our other salsa " I responded "yes, like ketchup". Her response was "yep, you remember the other salsa". This was Tuesday, April 28th and they were packed. No music except for the Mexican music on the speakers. Personally, I don't enjoy Craig who plays here a lot; although, perhaps many do. All I know is the food was great, the service was great and I truly hope you will all give them a try.

What!? Alas, the ensh1ttification of all things continues. Behold, the "El chamuco" burrito... positively leaked salty oil, covering the wrapper and the inside of the bag. No "chorizo" to be found, one (1) single dime-sized p00pchunk of breakfast sausage, the hilariously-named "artisanal cheese blend" was a tiny wet string of nastiness, and a oily, dense blob of egg only in the very middle of the burrito. The first 3 bites was nothing but the "meat" filling - a CRAZY SALTY mix of gristly, burned bacon fragments and tightly-packed pickled jalapeños. Not ONE single piece of either tomato or avocado throughout. The gummy tortilla was essentially raw. Anywhere, this would be poison...but in foodie Tucson! Unconscionable. "El Chamuco" means "the devil" - likely a reference to whoever invented ghost kitchens. The burrito, however, leaves a flavour in the mouth likely akin to the devil's droppings...not exactly spicy, but certainly hateful. Absolutely disgusting. Do better Banda or get out of the game. Your move Denny's.
