We have been to this Oro Valley location a number of times. Today was the second occasion that our Server, TAZ took care of us. Taz is very friendly, a conscious server and overall very pleasant to have take care of us. Today I had a very small hiccup of my pancakes came out only "luke -warm". Taz immediately apologized (it wasn't her fault if the food Warner may not have been working properly) and a fresh piping hot new order were delivered. Denny's, man you're just fine... but the ghost kitchen "Banda Burrito" therein? - where the food is truly disgusting and the lovely front-of-house girl doesn't even know that she works at a ghost kitchen? What!? Alas, the ensh1ttification of all things continues. Behold, the "El chamuco" burrito... positively leaked salty oil, covering the wrapper and the inside of the bag. No "chorizo" to be found, one (1) single dime-sized p00pchunk of breakfast sausage, the hilariously-named "artisanal cheese blend" was a tiny wet string of nastiness, and a oily, dense blob of egg only in the very middle of the burrito. The first 3 bites was nothing but the "meat" filling - a CRAZY SALTY mix of gristly, burned bacon fragments and tightly-packed pickled jalapeños. Not ONE single piece of either tomato or avocado throughout. The gummy tortilla was essentially raw. Anywhere, this would be poison...but in foodie Tucson! Unconscionable. "El Chamuco" means "the devil" - likely a reference to whoever invented ghost kitchens. The burrito, however, leaves a flavour in the mouth likely akin to the devil's droppings...not exactly spicy, but certainly hateful. Absolutely disgusting. Do better Banda or get out of the game. I know when you see a 5 star review for Dennys you might roll your eyes. Gimme a second, I was staying at an AirBnb near this location for about 6 weeks and I stopped into this location almost everyday for breakfast. I had the same thing everyday ( super slam and coffee) The thing is the layout of this place is SO GREAT! its totally updaded and not your grandfathers diner. The staff! I would say the staff was ALL amazing towards me from day 1. Super accomidating and sweet. Genuine people who are just living their lives and providing the BEST service imaginable. Waited 30 minutes for pancakes and a fish sandwich Togo. The only had one ticket on the expo screen which was my ticket and the kitchen staff has zero urgency for orders being over 20-30 minutes. Very disappointed that when I walked in 3 staff members left while people are waiting. I am unsure how to do this, so here it goes. This is my first recommendation of a restaurant in a very long time. On March 17, 2026, we were driving through Oro Valley on Oracle Road searching for a restaurant. We spotted Denny's. Neither of us had eaten at a Denny's restaurant in over 25 years. We wanted something quick, and there were not many cars in the parking lot at one o'clock in the afternoon, so we stopped in. We received a friendly greeting, and were seated promptly. They took our order and promptly brought our coffee. The problem was that the coffee was warm. We hated to complain, so we asked the server if she could pour hot coffee into our warm coffee to heat it up. She gladly obliged. However, the new coffee was not hot enough to heat up the old coffee. She came by again and asked us about our coffee. Again, we did not want to complain so we said it was fine. It was as if she was reading our minds. In about a minute, she brought over a new pot of hot coffee. It was as if she read our minds. The server, her name was Sierra, was extremely attentive to us. Both the food and the service were terrific. One last note, we only saw two servers waiting on about a dozen tables. These two women were working their tails off. Despite the many customers, our food arrived quickly and hot. Sierra stopped by our table often and asked us how we were doing. Needless to say, we left a large tip and were very grateful for the great service and the good food. We WILL be returning. We just re-discovered a new "favorite" restaurant. Visited this morning for breakfast, server was Kevin. At the time of ordering we asked to substitute hash browns with tomato slices. Kevin stated that it cannot be done. I indicated that I had made that request twice before and was granted my request. Kevin stated that it could not be done because the computer won't allow it. Again, I said that I had received it previously and he rudely stated that he cannot do it. When our meal arrived he threw the plates on the table with an attitude. We asked him for extra butter and he never brought it. During the time we were eating, he never once came back to ask if we needed anything. The entire experience was handled in a very rude manner. Simply UNACCEPTABLE establishment! Worst service I have had in a half century of eating out. As stated on other platforms as well to warn customers about the poor service and food at this Denny's which makes the bill you pay seem like a waste of money. There is a Chili's and Freddy's next to this Denny's; so save yourself the frustration and grief of making a bad decision and do not go to this location. Service is bad. Wait staff does not understand the menus so you get what they bring you and not what you ordered, even after explaining it several times. The waitstaff appear to think the customers are dumb and later admit to making the mistake and then blame Denny's for making confusing menus that confuse the waitstaff even though the menu spells it out in plain English. As for the food it was obviously not prepared right when you look at it, wait staff seemed to care less about the problems with the food. Also for a place that serves a lot of dishes with eggs, not sure why the staff could not differentiate between over easy and sunny-side up; again not the only example, but another example of ordering one thing and getting what the wait staff brings up, not what you ordered. Lesson learned, definitely dumping Denny's and obviously it all makes sense that so many Denny's are closing. The response I got from Ashley D 'employee' PROVES THE POINT. Denny's is trying to learn from providing BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCES. With so much competition and so many better restaurants, why would I return to a restaurant that cannot do things right the first time and provide hospitality in the first place. OK, so it's Denny's. I'm not comparing this to a fine dining experience. But, I have to say that I'm a fan of Denny's now. I can't believe I'm admitting that. This is a new chain restaurant in Oro Valley and fits a specific need. There really aren't very many places to grab breakfast in the area. I guess their subliminal ads got me. I was wanting "a traditional breakfast ", like pancakes, hash browns, you know, like mom used to make. I remembered the ads I saw for eggs benedict. We showed up and were greeted several employees. You get what you pay for. I used to think that adage was starting to get a bit tired. After all, just because you don't spend a lot of money doesn't mean you are going to get something crappy. I've been to a few Denny's locations in my past, and found them perfectly fine--not gourmet, but perfectly edible food for a decent price. Here, for Thanksgiving? Yikes. The last few years we have opted to have Thanksgiving dinners at the various resorts around town. Due to a failure to make reservations far enough in advance, and some other places with prices so high it was unreasonable, we had no choice but to choose Denny's; we decided to get take out. Imagine our surprise when we get the food home. Picture this: turkey so overcooked and dry, it could of been confused as jerky; to add insult to injury, there were visible char marks all over it. The broccoli was steamed, and was devoid of any flavor. The stuffing and mashed potatoes were by far the best thing on the plate. The problem? They went skimpy on those two things. The gravy, the very small amount that they gave, tasted of solely of salt. The garlic bread, had an odd odor: you know when you're in someone's presence, and it smells like they haven't changed their underwear in a long time and/or does not wipe very well? Yeah, that's what the garlic bread smelled like. And I'm shocked because most of the cheapie diner places serve some sort of turkey dish during the fall season, and I've had a Denny's turkey dish in the past, and it was very decent. This was abysmal. I am awarding this place two stars for two reasons: the staff were friendly and cordial, and the overall environment was pleasant, upbeat and new. The food did not give a greag first impression, which was a shame because although I was apprehensive over whether or not Denny's was a good fit for this town, I wanted to give them chance. It was exciting to see a denny's in OV. The closest I have been in was on river and oracle. And because of how far it is, I haven't been to Dennys in years. So when we wanted breakfast, I ordered through yelp for pick up. The app suggested 1009 pick up. I was there at 1010. Unfortunately didn't get out until 1043. I understand that it wasn't their fault or anything and I truly appreciate the ppl working there in the midst of the pandemic but for future references, if you order for pick up expect it to be late. But that's not the most disappointing. I ordered nachos as well, what they gave me was nacho cheese and chips. For $11 I don't think lll get that again. read more

I went here mid afternoon. Not too busy. Service was pretty good. I got the wagyu burger and coconut shrimp. They were both pretty good. We also got mozzarella sticks. Those were a little skinny and weren't quite cooked long enough. All in all, the best part about the experience was that it wasn't very busy and we were able to get served pretty quickly. read more

This place is more concerned with seating the customer where it is convenient for them based on server sequence, rather than where the customer wants to sit.
