We went to Bubs Subs for the first time on Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch based on other Yelp reviews. This place was so good, we went back again the next day!! All of their sauces are homemade. Everything is fresh. If you like spicy, you have to try the El Nino italian beef sandwich. It is so good, it's sinful! Even my kids' plain ham and american cheese sub was excellent. Service is so friendly and accommodating. Generous and top quality classic subs. Great meat. Good roll. Excellent toppings. My son and I had the Godfather and the Wise Guy. Great flavor and very satisfying. Giardiniera and tomatoes were great. These are a lost art outside of the city. Stopped in for lunch. Had higher expectations then what panned out based on the reviews. The menu is all a la carte there are no combos or deals. It wasnt anything special in my opinion. I had the el niño it was 12". It was good and the service was good but the sandwich came out to 14$ after tax which I thought was way high. Ill happily pay 14$ for a sandwich if the place is doing something above and beyond what youre going to find anywhere else but i didnt get that feel at all in service, food, or atmosphere. Basically the same feel as any other chain sandwich shop to me. If you have a 20 to burn and are around i wouldnt deter you from trying it out but definately dont go out of your way to check it out. read more

Overpriced for what you can get other local places. I like to support a locally Owned business but their prices need to be more inline.

First time I tried Bubs subs my fiance went in and grabbed me his favorite sub- The Fire Bird...It wad delish! First time I went in I met the owner and was very impressed with the service and tried a different sub (even though not getting the Fire Bird was a difficult struggle as it is so good!) I have been to Bub's a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Reading the reviews prior to mine...Yes the subs are a little more expensive than Subway...BUT you get a fresh, high quality sandwich that is twice the size and much more authentic and flavorful. The bread is always spot on. After coming a few times on my own, I decided to bring my teaching co-workers during a conference break. There were 10 people in line and everyone was in and out of the restaurant in about 5 minutes. You can't ask for much faster when each sandwich is being made to order and each person was checking out separately. **The Italian Beef's are about as close to authentic Chicago as you can get this far out in the suburbs. Came here for the first time and ordered the cheesy beef with mozzarella and pepper jack... they recommended their home-made chipolte mayo sauce and home-made giardiniera to go with the sandwich for an extra touch. Think Potbellys with better meat, bread, toppings and choices. I tried the club sandwich and was very happy. The bread had a great crunch (after toasting). The meat was fresh. The lettuce was green (not yellow or brown). The guys behind the counter were working fast but still smiled when they took my order and asked how my sandwich was when I was returning my tray. This place is a little over-rated. They pack the ingredients on the subs yet they somehow remain a bit bland. The home-made giardiniera is really mild, in fact, anything on the menu with the spicy label -- it isn't. Additionally, the sandwiches seem overpriced considering their size. We had two regular sized sandwiches the El Nino and the Firebird and both sandwiched had great flavor. The multiple levels of heat in the El Nino were perfect. Both could use a little more meat for the price, but we will go back. read more

Outstanding beef sandwiches! Jardinière is AWESOME!! I'm here once a week and prefer their beefs over Portillos and Buona Beef. I highly recommend bringing a tub of Jardinière home! I stopped here with my son. He searched places to eat as we were driving. I had a beef sandwich and my son had an Italian sandwich, I must say how awesome the food was! I thought of getting the large sandwich, but the worker told me the small are very filling. He was right. A great beef sandwich and my sons sub was awesome as well. Plenty of quality meats which make your shop preferred over others. The decorating inside could have been a little better, kind of boring. The plastic cup lids really were not easy to put on. My husband and I went here today. The first thing that stood out was the service. It blew us away. The guy behind the counter walked us through the different sandwich options they have, made recommendations, and chatted with us pleasantly. Then, once we had been eating our sandwiches for a little while, he asked us how they were. It was obvious he took pride in the sandwiches and wanted to make sure we enjoyed them. The food could have been so-so and I would still go back simply for that level of service. But the food was really, really good! The bread was fresh and crispy from being toasted. The meat was stacked on heartily. There was so much food!
