Went to Moonraker in Auburn. Ordered 2 sandwiches from food truck , with a small tip (4 bucks) the total was 52.31. The sandwich was mid, cold bun, and that was it! No side or anything. We ate the sandwiches in 4 bites. More slaw on the sandwich than meat. Really disappointed. Do better please.

Buckethead BBQ serves amazing wood-smoked Texas style barbecue from a custom built trailer - "The Rig" - at events centered around western Placer County. They operate out of Roseville, CA, and they're a mobile restaurant, so you'll need to check them out on their website or their social media page to find out where they'll be. Follow them for some of the best EVER barbecue in Placer County! Buckethead BBQ isn't a traditional brick and mortar operation, as they operate out of a custom-built trailer, specifically designed for mobile barbecue, they call "The Rig," so when you're in the mood for superior barbecue, you need to check their website, or their social media to see where they'll be setting up shop. Today's menu was posted outside the order counter. The menu varies slightly depending on the event, and what meat the restaurant has on hand. From the "Combo Plate" section of the menu, I went with "3 Meats," which included two sides. My choices of meat included brisket, pulled pork and tri tip, and sides were "Dave's Famous Baked Beans," and "Southern Slaw." Chef Dave included a cup of extra barbecue sauce on the side. Brisket. Such an interesting cut of meat, as it tends to be tough, hard to work with, and takes many hours of preparation and smoking to create a perfect product. Chef Dave and his team nailed the brisket, as it was juicy, tender, perfectly pink/slightly brown on the inside, with a beautiful, slightly crusty smoke cap on the outside. Ah... the pulled pork, which would make any Carolina "foodie" proud to enjoy and embrace. The pork was seasoned, marinated, tender, juicy, with a touch of the delicious smoke from the oak and almond wood, shredded, and topped with Buckethead's tangy barbecue sauce. Such amazing tri tip! Like the brisket, it was smoked to perfection, medium to dark pink on the inside, with a perfect, slightly crusty smoke cap on the outside. If you like your tri tip tender, you've come to the right place, so forget your knife, as Dave's tri tip was fork tender. You simply slice off a piece of the meat, dip it into the barbecue sauce - if that's your thing - and enjoy. You'd have to look a long way in Placer County to find a better tri tip. Dave's "Famous Baked Beans" worked out to be famously good, as they were tender, but with just the right amount of firmness, and served in a thick, slightly sweet sauce, where the brown sugar stood out. I'll enjoy these beans with any meal! Southern Slaw... may I say it again? Southern Slaw. I could eat this all day, everyday at every meal, as it was that good. I'm a HUGE fan of coleslaw and this was some of the best that I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy during my 73 trips around the sun. Alright... are you looking for some of the best Texas style barbecue in Placer County? Or... some of the best barbecue of any genre? You'll have to check out Buckethead BBQ's website, or their social media page to find their location, as they're mobile, but when they've set up shop at a location near you - or any location - you'll enjoy amazing barbecue. Delicious barbecue, served by friendly folks, always a great event or location... friends... we're talkin' FIVE STARS!

Ordered the Pulled Pork Sando and Chicken Sando. Total $42.58. Huh? According to there posted sign it should have been $34? I understand there was tax, but $8.58? I mentioned this while paying and he stated they hadn't changed the pricing on the board. It's a piece of tape. And the crazyness is the same type of overprice review was posted 4 months ago. What? And over $42 for 2 mid size sandwiches? The food was okay but definitely not worth the price

My plate featured brisket-pulled pork & pork rib, along with Green Chile Mac n cheese and jalapeño sweet slaw and 2 slices of bread and pickled veggies. Brisket was special,10/10-perfect ratio of meat ,seasonings and fat-really enjoyed it. Pulled pork was a solid 8/10-nice flavor and not dry, which happens with so many pulled pork dishes Pork Rib was a very memorable 9/10-meat just fell off the bone with magnificent flavor! Green Chile mac was so good I wish I had ordered 2 of them!!! Overall great experience trying this true Texas style BBQ and look forward to trying them again at their next pop-up!!! But what I wasn't prepared for was how hard this food SMACKS. We took our food home to escape the rain and just sat there in dead silence absolutely CHOMPING on the delectable gift in front of us. I've had bbq from all across the US. I've had bbq from quite a few places who claim to have good bbq and they disappoint. But this place? So humbly dominates the BBQ game. For a rainy day, the whole Oakhouse team was in great, kind, friendly spirits and happy to dish up their well-rounded menu. Their mac and cheese had me doing that chewing-while-aggressively-pointing-at the-dish kind of thing and their brisket is the kind that doesn't need to hide behind a sauce and HALLELUJAH for that. If you're blessed enough to find one of their pop-ups, DO IT. bring yo camping chair, bring yo wife, bring an appetite. Thank you Oakhouse team for raising the bar!

Shoutout to Folsom, CA. Kabayan!…read more This is a super worthy shout out. Kabayan is Filipino casual counter service eatery serving up some darn tasty food. I'm not well versed in Filipino cuisine, but I got working tastebuds and I like what I like. I meandered into the eatery on a recent weekend mid-afternoon. The tables were filled with happy folks enjoying their meals with a line of folks waiting for an open table; that's always a good indicator. I decided to order to go. The owner was cashiering. She was super helpful and engaging. Big smile. I ordered the two item combo $13.99 that comes with rice and pancit. The pancit was classic with all the familiar flavors. Ginisang Pusit. Squid. Soooo good! I never had this dish before. The squid was super tender, not mushy nor rubbery. Perfect tenderness... how did they do that?!? It had a sweetness and slight spiciness. Spiciness without the heat, but packing a bunch of flavor. I'm still thinking about that dish. Pork Kare Kare. It was served with a side of fermented shrimp paste. Not a lot of restaurants provide that shrimp paste, so I was stoked even if it was a smallish portion. The paste was a perfect compliment of saltiness to the creamy peanut butter sauce. Yup, PB gravy sauce. They also sell imported Filipino packaged snacks and pantry items. Plus they sell halo halo. I saw folks with gorgeously delicious looking halo halo. Colorful layers of shaved ice, ice cream, and toppings. The eatery is not particular large, so when it's a full house, it gets crowded cozy.

There's plenty of parking spots as it's in the same plaza as Raleys. It's a smaller shop that poses as a restaurant on one side and a small market filled with Filipino snacks on the other. There's not much for ambience, but it's clean and cozy. The owner served me, and she was super warm and friendly and very welcoming. I had questions about the food and their menu and she was very patient going through all of them. She introduced me to pitchi pitchi which is a sweet and salty cassava dessert that reminds me of mochi. The cheese threw me off a little, but I read that sometimes it's served with coconut flakes. I ordered two halo halo desserts, two combos, the cassava dessert, upgraded the rice to garlic rice, two orders of lumpia, and picked up a couple of calamansi drinks and garlic peanuts as a snick snack. Total bill plus tip was over $100. The menu changes every day, which I think is interesting. And every Sunday they serve lechon for $18 a pound. Check out their Facebook page for updates in case I got this information wrong. For the food, I had half pancit and half rice. I had adobo chicken, butter chicken, and two pork dishes that I don't remember the name. I like that the pork had a good combo of fat and lean meats. I wish I could've eaten it there but we had lunch and then decided to stop here. I felt like the food being warmed up after sitting in the fridge for a bit, It kind of made all of the entrées taste similar to each other. Next time I will vary my order, like I'll get a saucey dish, a sour soup, and a bbq skewer. All in all the food tasted very homey and delicious. It's heavily seasoned. I can see myself ordering lumpia and pancit to a party. Can't wait to go back and try their lechon and pork belly.

We saw the smoker in the front of the building. I do luv me some good ole BBQ. So off we went. We ordered a double down plate $26: two 7oz protein choices with cole slaw on brioche and an 8 oz side choice. Brisket and pulled pork were our protein choices with and potato salad. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious. Hubs had the brisket and wolfed that down before I could swipe a piece. Darn. The potato salad was tasty. Slightly tangy, which I really liked. The place is family owned and operated. It's a sports bar and family friendly bbq joint. Giving off family friendly vibes. But hey, a bar and family friendly? Yes. They both co-exist harmoniously. Talking about sports. The TVs of course are tuned onto sports. All of the screens are strategically placed throughout. They even have framed signed football jerseys from USC Trojans, Denver Broncos, and 49ers to name a few. Pretty neat.
