Good assortment of Southern and Cajun-style dishes [Rocklin CA] Haven't been to Lucille's since the pandemic but here we were dining in on a Monday when my friend chose this place for dinner. The restaurant was not packed at 5:30p but it got busy when we finished by 7:00p so we came at a good time. I ordered the CHIMICHURRI TOP SIRLOIN. The meat was tender and flavorful with the housemade Hatch chimichurri sauce. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed seasonal vegetables. Chargrilled to order. I chose less pink at medium well. My friend had the 3-bones BBQ BEEF RIBS. She gave me a piece to taste and it was so good! We had a wonderful server, Taylor, who was super friendly, engaging and attentive equally to not just our table but to all her guests... I was observing. LoL! I do like the part where you can pay right there at this little thingamajig pay system on each table. It is also able to split checks! I love the biscuits with the apple butter. Wish I could take the jar home. Why can't they sell this stuff??, My food was good. I couldn't decide what to get so I got this. Our service was good and it's always busy here

We were craving some ribs and decided to stop by Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que in Rocklin for our very first time. Our server, Sky, was super helpful and informative. He took the time to explain the differences between the ribs and the sauces. Along with the ribs, we got the garlic mashed potatoes, the cornbread, and some chicken nuggets for my son. Everything was delicious and hit the spot. The restaurant itself is very large with different distinct seating areas and features a really nice bar setup. Thanks to the great service and good food, we will absolutely be back. Next time we visit, we definitely want to check out the bar side!

The rice for the gumbo with a sprinkle of flavor on top

I very much enjoyed my experience coming here for the first time. As per my previous review that was specifically for a delivery order. The atmosphere of the place is delightful, very eclectic and fun, plus the restaurant is huge with multiple rooms and seating alternatives. The four of us chose a cozy booth near the cooker. The menu is quite extensive with lots of options. The primary fare is very much BBQ as one would expect. As per my previous review they also have some really wonderful New Orleans style cuisine, gumbo, jambalaya, beignets. I had my mind set on trying the BBQ and glad I did. It was truly delicious and good quality. I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, yet it was right up there. Since we were there for lunch I gravitated to the lunch specials in back of the menu. Since I wanted to try a variety of the large number of choices I went for the "three meal" selection and chose the St. Louis ribs, the brisket and the chicken. Plus a side of baked beans which was included from the available choices. It comes on a utilitarian metal tray, condusive to making a sloppy mess. It also comes with a wonderful biscuit and special seasoned butter which definitely hit the spot. We ordered fried okra for an appetizer and it was a hit with everyone. Nicely sizzling hot, a bit greasy, but ever so good! Hey, no one anticipated a healthy meal coming here! Our friends ordered the gumbo too and we all couldn't resist a spoonful or two. YUM! Just as good as before and a good portion of it too. They have three sauces available at the table if you care to lather more on your stuff. I did, the hot sauce, which wasn't as powerful as I like, but good enough for a bit of kick. The brisket was tender and exceptional, the ribs very delicious, and the chicken, a large leg, was moist and cooked perfectly. For BBQ they know what they're doing, with the coating, cooking time and sauce. It all was very good and very filling. I was stuffed! For around $25. not a bad price either. Oh, the baked beans were fabulous, the best I've had in years. For a drink I had an Arnold Palmer which came in a huge Mason type jar. Loved it. For dessert we ordered the traditional beignets. I was only able to eat one. I believe six were in the order. For someone who's eaten innumerable beignets at Cafe du Monde and Morning Call in New Orleans these aren't the same size, yet just as good. The consistency is perfect and not over cooked. YUM! The service was very friendly and helpful, upbeat and made certain that everything was to our liking. One of the best parts is they give you a warm towel to clean up at the end. That was good for me as I started out intending to politely fork and knife it throughout but gave up soon after and ended up eating the ribs and chicken with my fingets making a sticky mess! Why not enjoy it? Overall a really nice experience. I will definitely go back and especially since I enjoy the unique atmosphere of the dine-in experience. Good job, Lucille!

So glad I stopped by here to grab some to go dinner. I was really craving BBQ and decided to give this place a try, and I'm glad I did. At first I thought it might be similar to Buckhorn, but honestly it has its own thing going on and doesn't really compare. Everything tasted fresh, well made and you can tell they care about the quality of the food. The deviled eggs were absolutely to die for, especially with the fried onions on the side. I've had deviled eggs at plenty of places, but these were easily some of the best I've ever had. The crunch from the onions added the perfect texture and made them stand out. The beef brisket was super tender and juicy, and I loved the dipping sauce it came with which paired really well with the meat. The BBQ ribs were just as good, really flavorful and juicy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, and I'd highly recommend it if you're in the mood for some solid BBQ!

    SMOKED BBQ NACHOS

The service and atmosphere of the restaurant were great. Our server was a blessing, she supposedly had the day off but the girl that was covering for our large party had to call in. She treated our large party magnificent. We had a large party for a birthday lunch on the weekend, luckily we got there before it was too packed. I specifically got the pick 3 combo plate (sausage, brisket, pulled chicken and upgraded brisket mac) and for apps we got the deviled eggs and the nachos. The food was just ok, for the price on the menu I got a decent portion of some mid barbecue, was nothing to write home about but wasn't bad. The brisket seemed a little dry, the pulled chicken was more like sliced chicken combined with bbq sauce, and I'm honestly not a big sausage guy but the jalapeño sausage was probably the best item on my plate. If you want a good service experience with some ok food feel free to come here but personally I think it would be better to support a local bbq place and get some better food.

Hit the spot! They had a special on the 2 meat/2 sides. Couldn't decide which style of ribs between the St Louis or Baby Back so I had 1/4 of each! Yummy. My only negative was that the St Louis were difficult to separate the bones to pull apart. Nice amount of sauce in both. Tender and tasty. Biscuits were fresh. Pork belly burnt ends were awesome as were the pickles that were the garnish. My husband had the jambalaya bowl and there was well flavored chimichuri rice and a bit of either andouille shrimp or chicken with each bite. Service was great. Enjoyable experience all around.

An overall 4 stars, factoring in the food, customer service and ambiance. Foodyou choose to dine-in, Lucille's has a nice southern charm and seating that can accommodate a large group. Oh and they have fried green tomatoes! Idgie Threadgoode would be proud. Enjoyed the links & brisket two way combo. Links had a nice char and the brisket was cooked perfectly. Plenty of options for sides and I chose to go carb heavy w/ potato salad and mac & cheese. Would definitely recommend getting a two way, if you're having g trouble deciding. You also have the option of jazzing up your macaroni & cheese w/ toppings like bacon, brisket, onions etc. I went w/ bacon because bacon makes everything g taste yummy. Then of course closing out the meal w/ a delicious batch of fried green tomatoes. Their batter was nice and crisp and the perfect blend of sweet & savory. Some people may want their fired green tomatoes as an appetizer but I'd recommend it as the perfect way to end the meal:)

I've been coming to this location since 2011 and it's gone downhill so bad. The brisket was all fat and I hate that texture/ consistency :( the chicken was also cold. Service was mid.... $80 to be disappointed is so sad lol On the positive side ----the drinks are great. The potato salad is always good. The biscuits and apple butter are good, the decor is awesome - BUT the MEAT is the most important in my opinion. If I do return it will be for drinks and appetizers, because the BBQ meat is a disaster.

    Front entry way

My boyfriend and I visited Lucille's for our first time, and unfortunately it was incredibly disappointing. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our server was friendly and tried his best, but the food completely missed the mark. I have a food allergy, so I specifically requested no barbecue sauce and even declined dipping sauces when asked. Despite that, my plate arrived with two large containers of barbecue sauce that spilled onto my food, contaminating my meal. My macaroni and cheese was cold, untouched, and the tri-tip was chewy, rubbery, under-seasoned, and had a pink, prime rib-like texture. I took two bites of the tri-tip and one rib before I couldn't eat anymore. My boyfriend's pulled pork was also cold and drenched in sauce, so he couldn't enjoy his meal either. The most frustrating part is that we spent over $110, yet still had to go home and cook dinner because neither of us was able to eat what we paid for. We didn't complain in the restaurant or make a scene--we simply paid, left, and contacted Guest Relations afterward. I even ordered an extra meal to go before our entrées arrived because I had such high hopes. If I'd known how the food would turn out, I never would have. Photos have been provided to Guest Relations, and I hope they use this feedback to improve future guests' experiences.

St. Louis ribs and roasted corn...

The "premium side" of roasted corn on the cob is tasteless and overdone. Water has more flavor. The "fall of the bone" St. louis ribs had a candied outer shell, but definitely did not fall off the bone. The brisket didn't even look like food at first - they brought slices out that were essentially all fat. The second brisket was a little better but drier than the Mojave. If you're looking for good Bar-B-Que. This isn't the place

7/6/2025 Came here for a quick lunch. The inside is super cute. Takes you back in time. Ashlyn was a nice host. She brought us to a booth after hearing our request. Our sever talyor is a gem. Has an open and friendly energy. My grandpa always makes these jokes and she manage to match that energy. Good luck on your nursing school journey Taylor. Like last time, we ordered the baby back ribs half rack and gumbo. This time we got strawberry lemonade ($6) and tried the peach lemonade as well. Great recommendation by Taylor. Both lemonade had strong fruit flavors. The peach was slightly more tart than the strawberry. Nothing can go wrong with a cold glass of lemonade paired with a rack of ribs. We mixed the peach and strawberry lemonade for a beautiful sunset lemonade ( pic). We split both the rack or ribs and the gumbo for two people and it was a lot and delicious. The portion size here are quite big. Every time I come to Sacramento area, I must get some Lucille's. It is now one of my Togo spots that I would recommend to friends.

Yessss FINALLY a local BBQ spot that satisfies our cravings for good'ol Baby Back Ribs!! Lets be clear, you can't compare ANY spot to Phil's BBQ at San Diego, but this certainly is one of the better spots for delicious ribs! Warm, family friendly ambience for various occasions that won't disappoint (also depends on your server). Prices are fair, service can use some help and speed up a bit (or perhaps just low staffed the day we went), parking is incredibly generous and spacious, wait time can be longer than expected thanks to the slow service... so then why 5 stars? Is it worth the wait? It's all about the ribs and if you're a foodie for good, soft, delicious, melts off the bone ribs - it's definitely worth the wait and patience! Our waitress was fun and incredible. She tended to us wonderfully despite overseeing so many tables. Kids got to ring the bell which was nice to experience! And dessert - oh wow, the ice cream serving was MUCH bigger that we anticipated. All in all, highly recommended for ribs' specialists. Come hungry and leave satisfyingly happy!!

The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.

They market themselves as upscale southern food, not soul food, so coming here with realistic expectations is definitely important to your experience. It felt loosely southern inspired, definitely seasoned and prepared with the Roseville demographics in mind. We ordered the Caesar salad, the fried chicken, the ribeye, and a side of mac. Out of those items the ribeye was our favorite, the least favorite was the mac. I ordered a cocktail and they definitely do not skimp on the liquor. I definitely want to try more of the menu. I've heard the burger is delicious, and the brunch menu looks super appealing.

The food, service, and ambiance were all terrific and made for a comfortable, delicious experience we will be returning to soon. We had tried going there once before about 6 months ago, but the wait was too long for our schedule that day. Yesterday, our party of four showed up at 11, and the wait was only 10 minutes. Our server, Kristin, was amazing. She answered our questions perfectly and without hesitation; she was always there to refill iced tea and bring anything additional we needed - the service was flawless in every way. We were at a booth for four, and the booths are comfortable and clean. The layout of the restaurant is efficient, and perfect for the dining experience FSC is offering. And the food? Off the charts 5/5! I hadn't had pancakes in a long time, so I ordered the blueberry pancakes. The two pancakes were both massive and delicious. Fresh blueberries in the batter and on top, and they were perfectly ripe and flavorful. I can't envision anyone actually finishing all of it, but I was happy to take home leftovers. The pancakes were fluffy and light, among the best I have ever had. I also had a side of the house-cured bacon, which I requested crispy, and which arrived perfectly crispy and delicious. Mrs. K had the blue cheese burger and loved it. I was granted a taste, and I agreed. Juicy, prepared exactly as ordered, and served with exceptional fries that were crispy outside and soft inside. Our friends had various forms of eggs and bacon, including a dish FSC calls Beggin' For Bacon. The egg dishes looked perfect, and our friends confirmed they tasted as perfect as they looked. FSC gets a ton of 5-star reviews, and they deserve every one. We will be returning soon and often, and obviously, I highly recommend FSC for your next breakfast/lunch outing.

My first time there I got the corned beef and hash. The corned beef was great, the potatoes could be so much better though. They need to be crisp and well seasoned, they were neither. Maybe you can ask for them extra crispy? The next time I visited I had a BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken was kinda dry, the sauce tasted good though. I also didn't like how it was assembled, it seemed kinda tossed on the bun and sent out. They are so busy here, and I wish they would just take a little extra time in the kitchen to make the food as great as the service. This is like a 3.5 star, with the great service and the decent food. Would I ever come here out of choice? Probably not. Would I throw up a big fuss if friends wanted to come here? One of my favorite things is their weekly specials there's always something amazing to try! Some of our family favorites are the potato cakes, BLTs (my kids love to get it for breakfast), biscuits and gravy, and chorizo. You can really taste the quality and care they put into everything they make. It's become our go-to local restaurant, and we always leave happy. Highly recommend!

Really good breakfast stop with a huge menu. Arrived about…read more10 on a Sunday morning and it was busy, but we were seated right away. We had the Roberts Sausalito Scramble: spinach, bacon, scrambled eggs, shrooms & Croutons?, topped with blue cheese crumbles. Odd combo, but it all worked together, probably could have skipped the croutons. Mrs had the Joe's veggie 1/2 Benedict with excellent house grated hash browns well done. I opted for the Home Fried Potatoes,w/bell pepper & onions. The hash browns were the winner of those two. Benedict was pretty standard with a generous amount of avocado & a slice of grilled red onion under the egg. We slipt one of the massive Grandma's Biscuits with whipped butter, amazing, could be a full meal by itself. Friendly server's and bussers, which we noticed made the service seemless as they worked in tandem to assure everyone was taken care of, coffee refills, extra napkins, food brought out quick, water & creamer reload, etc. Open 6:30 to 2pm and some excellent looking sandwich, burger, salad, keto, vegetarian options for lunch. Tiny parking lot adjacent was jam packed, but there is street parking & some spots around back. Worth a stop.

Guy's for Lunch is truly worth stopping by for a delicious sandwich. They have a huge variety of…read moresandwiches. Prices are very reasonable and they even have an option for a half sandwich/side combo. I always get a Dutch crunch and I normally eat through the pain of the hard crust on the top that hurts my mouth. But here, the Dutch crunch is incredibly soft and fresh, not hard at all. It had the texture of a fresh light crouton. My sandwich had a lot of meat on it, and the veggies tasted extra fresh. I could only eat half my sandwich, but the second half I saved for a snack later on in the day and it was still yummy. The turkey chili they had on special was so smoky and flavorful, definitely worth a try. A couple small things I noticed and very much appreciated. If you order for here, they will put your food and sides on actual plates with real silverware. They don't just wrap it togo like any other sandwich spot would do regardless if you are eating it there or not. They also immediately give you water cups without requesting one, they are actually full size cups and not the small 6oz children courtesy cups you would normally get. They also let me sample the turkey chili and macaroni salad before committing to a full size order of it. It's the little things like this that leave impressions, aside from the delicious food. Unfortunately this spot is quite the drive from my house, but if you're in the area doing some shopping, they are a must try!

Fair point from business owner. I'll come back and try it again. Thank you for letting me know!…read more------ Not sure what you guys talking about. The Chicken salad Sandwich wasn't as bomb as you guys said it was. It also had a hint of Dijon mustard, which I hate. Had to add lots of salt. Full size sando is def 2 meals though. Will try again with something better.

Plenty of seating, a comfortable atmosphere, and service that was fast and attentive without feeling rushed. The food had some highs and lows, but those Brussels sprouts were legitimately good enough that we finished the first plate and immediately ordered another Parking? Lot. Plenty of parking We had: Brussels Sprouts (5/5): These were ridiculously good. Perfectly cooked with that elusive balance of crispy edges and tender centers, with enough flavor to make them addictive without burying the sprouts themselves. We finished the first plate and subsequently ordered another Steak Frites (3/5): The flavor was there. The steak was well marinated with plenty of savory depth, but the texture held it back. It was noticeably chewy and never quite delivered that tender bite you want from steak frites. The fries were fine, but thicker and softer than I prefer. A thinner, crispier fry would have added some much needed textural contrast. Good foundation, but the execution needed tightening

The Range is a good place to get a drink or a meal with family and friends. It has such a cool vibe! Service was great as well. We came for happy hour, but I didn't see any HH specials the day we came. They just served their regular menu. That said, prices and portions were pretty standard. Standouts were the Brussels and bacon, and the soju cocktails. The chicken sliders and meatballs were okay but nothing memorable. I plan to try their pizza next time as well as their brunch. A good neighborhood spot with lots of parking. I recommend checking them out.
