The restaurant was not packed at 5:30p but it got busy when we finished by 7:00p so we came at a good time. I ordered the CHIMICHURRI TOP SIRLOIN. The meat was tender and flavorful with the housemade Hatch chimichurri sauce. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed seasonal vegetables. Chargrilled to order. I chose less pink at medium well. My friend had the 3-bones BBQ BEEF RIBS. She gave me a piece to taste and it was so good! We had a wonderful server, Taylor, who was super friendly, engaging and attentive equally to not just our table but to all her guests... I was observing. LoL! Very unimpressed is an understatement. I ordered the BBQ combo with brisket and ribs and two sides for $23.99 (plus am extra $1.50 for brisket). It came with 3 ribs and one slice of brisket. When I asked the server if the combo usually comes with 1 piece, he said it's a 3 oz portion. The service was good, but I'll never go back. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant were great. Our server was a blessing, she supposedly had the day off but the girl that was covering for our large party had to call in. She treated our large party magnificent. We had a large party for a birthday lunch on the weekend, luckily we got there before it was too packed. I specifically got the pick 3 combo plate (sausage, brisket, pulled chicken and upgraded brisket mac) and for apps we got the deviled eggs and the nachos. The food was just ok, for the price on the menu I got a decent portion of some mid barbecue, was nothing to write home about but wasn't bad. The brisket seemed a little dry, the pulled chicken was more like sliced chicken combined with bbq sauce, and I'm honestly not a big sausage guy but the jalapeño sausage was probably the best item on my plate. We were craving some ribs and decided to stop by Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que in Rocklin for our very first time. Our server, Sky, was super helpful and informative. He took the time to explain the differences between the ribs and the sauces. Along with the ribs, we got the garlic mashed potatoes, the cornbread, and some chicken nuggets for my son. Everything was delicious and hit the spot.The restaurant itself is very large with different distinct seating areas and features a really nice bar setup. I very much enjoyed my experience coming here for the first time. As per my previous review that was specifically for a delivery order. The atmosphere of the place is delightful, very eclectic and fun, plus the restaurant is huge with multiple rooms and seating alternatives. The four of us chose a cozy booth near the cooker. The menu is quite extensive with lots of options. The primary fare is very much BBQ as one would expect. As per my previous review they also have some really wonderful New Orleans style cuisine, gumbo, jambalaya, beignets. I had my mind set on trying the BBQ and glad I did. It was truly delicious and good quality. I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, yet it was right up there. Since we were there for lunch I gravitated to the lunch specials in back of the menu. Since I wanted to try a variety of the large number of choices I went for the "three meal" selection and chose the St. Louis ribs, the brisket and the chicken. Plus a side of baked beans which was included from the available choices. It comes on a utilitarian metal tray, condusive to making a sloppy mess. It also comes with a wonderful biscuit and special seasoned butter which definitely hit the spot. We ordered fried okra for an appetizer and it was a hit with everyone. Nicely sizzling hot, a bit greasy, but ever so good! Hey, no one anticipated a healthy meal coming here! Our friends ordered the gumbo too and we all couldn't resist a spoonful or two. YUM! Just as good as before and a good portion of it too. They have three sauces available at the table if you care to lather more on your stuff. I did, the hot sauce, which wasn't as powerful as I like, but good enough for a bit of kick. The brisket was tender and exceptional, the ribs very delicious, and the chicken, a large leg, was moist and cooked perfectly. For BBQ they know what they're doing, with the coating, cooking time and sauce. It all was very good and very filling. I was stuffed! For around $25. not a bad price either. Oh, the baked beans were fabulous, the best I've had in years. For a drink I had an Arnold Palmer which came in a huge Mason type jar. Loved it. For dessert we ordered the traditional beignets. I was only able to eat one. I believe six were in the order. For someone who's eaten innumerable beignets at Cafe du Monde and Morning Call in New Orleans these aren't the same size, yet just as good. The consistency is perfect and not over cooked. YUM! The service was very friendly and helpful, upbeat and made certain that everything was to our liking. One of the best parts is they give you a warm towel to clean up at the end. That was good for me as I started out intending to politely fork and knife it throughout but gave up soon after and ended up eating the ribs and chicken with my fingets making a sticky mess! So glad I stopped by here to grab some to go dinner. I was really craving BBQ and decided to give this place a try, and I'm glad I did. At first I thought it might be similar to Buckhorn, but honestly it has its own thing going on and doesn't really compare. Everything tasted fresh, well made and you can tell they care about the quality of the food. The deviled eggs were absolutely to die for, especially with the fried onions on the side. I've had deviled eggs at plenty of places, but these were easily some of the best I've ever had. The crunch from the onions added the perfect texture and made them stand out. The beef brisket was super tender and juicy, and I loved the dipping sauce it came with which paired really well with the meat. The BBQ ribs were just as good, really flavorful and juicy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, and I'd highly recommend it if you're in the mood for some solid BBQ! read more

Hit the spot! They had a special on the 2 meat/2 sides. Couldn't decide which style of ribs between the St Louis or Baby Back so I had 1/4 of each! Yummy. My only negative was that the St Louis were difficult to separate the bones to pull apart. Nice amount of sauce in both. Tender and tasty. Biscuits were fresh. Pork belly burnt ends were awesome as were the pickles that were the garnish. My husband had the jambalaya bowl and there was well flavored chimichuri rice and a bit of either andouille shrimp or chicken with each bite. Service was great. I've been coming to this location since 2011 and it's gone downhill so bad. The brisket was all fat and I hate that texture/ consistency :( the chicken was also cold. Service was mid.... $80 to be disappointed is so sad lol On the positive side ----the drinks are great. The potato salad is always good. The biscuits and apple butter are good, the decor is awesome - BUT the MEAT is the most important in my opinion. I went with a couple of friends for a birthday. Waitress Rylee was great, drinks and appetizer came promptly. Friends split meat platter. I should have seen it coming when the Hatch Chile Grits were inedible. All of us and have never seen grits like this. My mistake was ordering the Shrimp and Grits when the plate arrived it was grit soup served with a large kitchen serving spoon. The shrimp was cooked well cooked, but the grit soup was ridiculous I have never seen grits this watery, but worse stirring the bowl I found congealed grits from bottom or sides of cook pan, the supposed tomato cream sauce was impossible to tell from the soup other than the color. Having ordered this dish in many Southern restaurants the nicest thing I would say is Fire the Supposed Cook, definitely can't be anyone claiming to be a chef. Ambiance: Very typical BBQ atmosphere. It is a very large place and you can actually see their smoker working. Service: The service was impeccable. From the hosts to the server; friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and more importantly how the BBQ is actually done. Loved the energy and the attention to details. Food: We had a variety of different choices of smoked meats and sides; NONE were disappointing. The only disappointment was dessert. We went against our server's recommendation and chose the Chocolate Cake. Less than meh! Next time, and YES, there will be a next time. We will go with the banana pudding. This was probably our 8th visit to Lucille's and it has been hit and miss for a while. Was craving ribs for Father's Day so we decided to risk it at Lucille's. The wait was only 20 minutes and we were seated in Sky's area. Sky walks up and the vibe is perfect. Drink orders taken and good banter going on. We are told they are doing a limited menu and I totally appreciate that on a busy day. Ordered a feast for 6 with Brisket. Drinks were refilled without asking and the food service was timed perfectly. Salad came out cold and ribs came out hot. Sides were generous portions. In talking to Sky it looks like the Cheesecake Factory loss is Lucille's gain. Normally I don't like dropping that much money at Lucille's because the food and service is so hit and miss. Just no. My sister wanted to go here for her bday lunch so I had no say. The food was not even lukewarm and so salty. I love fried food but if you need to put that much salt, maybe msg, on fried food to make it taste "good" that's just wrong. I only had a baked potato and the appetizer plate. How can you go wrong with a baked potato? Plus our waiter was slow, hence the cold food, and forgot several things. Over $100 later, my tummy is still upset. And they did have really cute shirts with flying pigs on them that they were advertising, but they only had 1 in stock and it was for a child. We came here after a courthouse wedding we had a reservation. It was a big party, and it turned out to be really nice. We got there early and they were able to get us seated early. Our server Jenny was super nice and very helpful throughout the evening. They were able to store a cake for us we dropped off beforehand. I think their food can be hit or miss a lot of people enjoyed their food. Lucille's is one of my favorite places for a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The key is to ask for buffalo sauce. It's a real juicy piece of meat. Nice cut with a good crunch. Some items I wouldn't recommend is the kids fried chicken, and their bowls. We thought the kid was just being picky, but we tried it, and it was not edible. My family enjoyed the ribs and the shredded chicken nachos. read more

7/6/2025 Came here for a quick lunch. The inside is super cute. Takes you back in time. Ashlyn was a nice host. She brought us to a booth after hearing our request. Our sever talyor is a gem. Has an open and friendly energy. My grandpa always makes these jokes and she manage to match that energy. Good luck on your nursing school journey Taylor. Like last time, we ordered the baby back ribs half rack and gumbo. This time we got strawberry lemonade ($6) and tried the peach lemonade as well. Great recommendation by Taylor. Both lemonade had strong fruit flavors. The peach was slightly more tart than the strawberry. Nothing can go wrong with a cold glass of lemonade paired with a rack of ribs. We mixed the peach and strawberry lemonade for a beautiful sunset lemonade ( pic). We split both the rack or ribs and the gumbo for two people and it was a lot and delicious. Yessss FINALLY a local BBQ spot that satisfies our cravings for good'ol Baby Back Ribs!! Lets be clear, you can't compare ANY spot to Phil's BBQ at San Diego, but this certainly is one of the better spots for delicious ribs! Warm, family friendly ambience for various occasions that won't disappoint (also depends on your server). Prices are fair, service can use some help and speed up a bit (or perhaps just low staffed the day we went), parking is incredibly generous and spacious, wait time can be longer than expected thanks to the slow service... so then why 5 stars? Is it worth the wait? It's all about the ribs and if you're a foodie for good, soft, delicious, melts off the bone ribs - it's definitely worth the wait and patience! Our waitress was fun and incredible. She tended to us wonderfully despite overseeing so many tables. Kids got to ring the bell which was nice to experience! The 2 girls serving us were so fast, courteous & patient for our large group - it was so loud, and about 50 people but the took orders, served the food fast and fresh and kept the drinks flowing!! Tonight, I had dinner with family at Lucille's. I ordered the jambalaya. Right away, the smell was amazing. I took one bite and forgot to take a photo. Too good to wait. Spicy but not too hot, full of flavor, and the sausage and shrimp were cooked just right. At the table, we shared the burnt ends. They were tender, had crispy edges, and that smoky flavor was perfect. Everyone at the table loved them. Our server was wonderful. Gave helpful recommendations and checked in without interrupting too much. Friendly the whole time. Inside, the place felt cozy. The ribs had very little meat on them, the chicken was a bit over done, the brisket was a little chewy and had no flavor, the potato salad, macaroni, and premium fries were ok, beans were good but way too much sugar, the sauces had too much sugar too. I won't comment on the ambience because the place was jam-packed with loud people yelling to be heard - I guess that's good for Lucille's. This was our second visit to Lucille's. We were excited to try it again. It was nice to be welcomed in by the friendly hostess. The atmosphere was also welcoming with southern paraphernalia. Our waitress Maddy stole the show with her attentiveness and personality. We tried the brisket and were very delighted with its texture including the pink smoke ring and cross cut. Great job! We ordered ribs and more ribs. They were very delicious, juicy and tender with a nice crust. I recommend the spicy BBQ sauce. The Mac and cheese and beans were our favorite sides. I loved the southern esthetic of the restaurant & the smell of barbecue that filled the place. I've heard a lot about Lucille's & finally had to try it. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 toddlers & when we showed up it was a full house and we waited about 45 minutes before being seated. Once we were seated our waitress Riley tended to us and she was super polite & her service was exceptional. As far as the food, the food came out in a timely manner and for the most part we enjoyed it. I ordered a rack of ribs with a side of French fries & sautéed vegetables & I paired it with the table side Lucille's bbq sauce (which tasted amazing) & the only thing I can say the ribs is I wished it was more tender but still satisfying. Lucille's, where brisket is sliced with the grain and not against it. I ordered a brisket sandwich and the brisket was sliced along the grain which in part gave it more of a chewy texture ir just plain tough. The meat definitely had bark but it was flavorless. No SPG rub that I could taste. This is my third visit and each time I have never been impressed. Sure the service is good and so is the beer selection, but the bbq meat is just not that tasty. I only go here because it is very close to my house and each time I hope it will have improved. I will not return. I picked a fine time to leave you, Lucille. read more

I was excited to try this place as I was told it had great BBQ. I was extremely disappointed with the food. I ordered the "Texas style brisket". Texas style brisket to anyone who knows BBQ is a brisket smoked on a low temperature over a long period of time until tender. The slices of brisket I received were chewy, bone dry, flavorless, had no smoke ring and the fat was whiter than I am rather than yellow, further showing it wasnt even smoked but thrown in an oven at a high temperature for a short amount of time. This brisket was exactly what a Texan would joke and meme about a California cooked brisket. I've included a pic. It was expensive too. The spicy BBQ sauce wasnt even spicy either even for me! I would know because I had to use half the bottle on those tiny pieces of rubbery meat. The service was very friendly and the drinks were good so that is the only reason I'm giving a two star rather than one. If you want good BBQ look anywhere but here. read more

We decided to sit at the bar which wasn't crowded for a Saturday although there was a large group in a room off to the side that was quite noisy. The bartender greeted us right away and asked if we wanted drinks and food. She handed us menus and checked out the drinks. We decided on the Kentucky Cooler which sounded refreshing. We ordered the Cracked out Deviled Eggs. We always love their biscuits with honey butter to start. The drink was very good and love the cucumber and rosemary in the drink. The deviled eggs were very tasty. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy sandwich with Potato Salad. I love a sandwich topped with a fried pickle. I love Shrimp Po Boy sandwiches and this was not my favorite. The bread was a big too chewy and the shrimp were over fried. Usually the bread is light and shrimp lightly coated. The fried pickle was good. The potato salad was great as always.
