My bagel sandwich was delicious, I got to build my own and choose what I wanted in it. The iced coffee was also really good, they gave me a cup of ice and the hazelnut syrup I ordered, then I went to the self serve bar for milk and coffee which was interesting but ended up tasting really good. They had live music and a free samples section. The overall vibe was cozy and nice. It wasn't busy when I went so I can't speak for the wait times. read more

Food - 5.5/10 Service - 5/10 As others have said the wait was quite long over 30 mins but they were pretty busy and the wifi stopped working while I was trying to pay. The vibes were good they had live music and the inside was nice although I wish there were more chairs or at least more chairs at some tables. We sat in the back as we waited and tried asking for wait times but they told us they didn't know which was our order even tho we gave a name when paying. Since we have 5 sandwiches we didn't try to ask more. The sandwiches itself were decent nothing really stuck out and for the wait time I wouldn't say it was worth. The sandwich was pretty thin not super filling but for Cape Cod I would say it's a decent sandwich. I would recommend just making your own, the total of making ur own is cheaper than the sandwiches they had and it's just easier for your own liking. We came around 12-1 pm and by that time they were out of everything bagel but there are a lot of different bagels or breads to choose. Avoid this place at ALL costs. We ordered a Turkey sandwich for $16.85 and it was not only awful, it was not fresh. The staff will not speak in English and are rude and do not know what the heck they are doing. The Food is Pathetically expensive and NOT good. Then to top it all off the Bathroom was Disgusting and I mean disgusting. I was once told a bad bathroom means the staff don't clean and or don't wash their hands and imagine them touching the food while making it. This place is disgusting and I will never never ever go there again if it was the last place on the Cape. We stopped here on a whim but wish I checked Yelp first so I could've known to pass on this spot. We ordered a coffee, green tea steamer, and egg on English muffin. The lady working the register was grumpy and not friendly. The drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time and tasted just ok. But the English muffin took almost 40 mins! Couldn't believe it took so long. It wasn't even busy at all. While waiting, I witnessed 3 other customers complain about the wait time. I'm not sure what was going on back there, but it was extremely inefficient. We almost left without our food since the wait was not worth the $4 we paid for the English muffin. Buckies service was horrible. My friends and I were ordering and after three of us ordered, they refused to let the other two order. They said it was because the kitchen closed, but this was at 1140, and the kitchen closes at noon. I've never experienced half a group getting food and the other half being refused. In addition, they got one of the orders wrong. Buckies should be ASHAMED of their rude service, do not EVER go here. Worst experience ever. The workers were so rude to me and other customers. First, when I was waiting in line, I can see that the cashier was not being very patient with the customer in front of me. So I could already tell it was going to be a bad experience. When it was my turn, the cashier gave the same attitude and not listening to anything I was saying. Secondly, I ordered a simple egg sandwich and apparently it takes 30 minutes for an egg sandwich. Others were waiting as well and when one of the customers asked one of the workers about it their order, the worker just blew the customer off! I used to come in regularly for the Ricotta Pie (as GOOD as you'll get anywhere in Boston!!). Today I came in to hear a musician friend perform and had the chicken salad on a croissant. Stopped in this morning and grabbed a bagel sandwich. As a few others pointed out, wait time was a little longer than expected - 16 min - but I'm patient, and I will always wait for something freshly prepared vs pre-cooked. The end product was well worth the wait. This was the singular best bagel sandwich I have had. Eggs freshly prepared, bacon cooked to perfection and a fresh and delicious bagel. I drove over to Dennisport from Dennis yesterday. Arrived at 3:30 after reading on Buckies website that they were open until 4:30, was pleased to see the front door propped open. There were two women already there and shopping. I started looking around and was curtly told that they were closed. I pointed out that the website said 4:30. She didn't care. Wow. Just wow. This is the least efficient breakfast spot I have ever been to. We ordered TWO BAGELS and sat there for an HOUR!!!! You know it's bad when every single guest has been waiting for 40+ minutes and the staff is dancing to the music behind the counter and on their phones. When we asked for a refund they lacked all customer satisfaction skills and replied with "it doesn't matter how long it takes we don't give refunds". I've been trying so hard to like this place but it's just awful! I suck it up because I love their iced espresso. You walk in and have no idea who's waiting for their food order or where the line starts. It's so frustrating and wicked disorganized. One time I ordered an iced espresso and they gave it to me hot. I told them it was supposed to be iced. They took it back and told me it would be 3 dollars more!!!! For what? To throw a few cubes in the cup?! They offer a self serve ice machine. I should have kept my mouth shut and added the ice myself. Asked for two moon pasties and I got two messy whoopie pies. The owner is miserable. Sadly I'll go back because their coffee is so good. Employee walks away after taking payment without giving me the necessary cup. She walked away and another server came with two cups for another customer. I asked her for a cup. Tried too many times. Iced coffee is terrible. Staff is usually very grumpy. You often get the feel you are distubring them and frustrating them but there is usually 3 people inside the entire place. This morning I ordered a #2, a bacon egg and cheese wrap at 8:46 AM. It took 37 minutes. I am the only person eating food in the cafe right now, the other two people only got drinks. No apology, didnt bring it over to me, just put it on counter and walked into the back to avoid me. Bad coffee bad service no urgency, its the norm here. This establishment is local to me, so I wanted to like them to have a new place to frequent. My small order of cannoli's was disastrous. Presentation... both cannolis shells were shattered upon opening the box, bad enough that you could not pick up. That was no big deal to me, what was a big deal was the cannoli filling itself. I've had cannolis from all over, new york cannolis, you name it. This is the first 1 I've received that I needed a spoon to eat! The filling had the consistancy of soft serve ice cream...soupy! I took a pic showing how the cannoli is basically flat or 2d, due to the liquid like filling and crushed shells. The Chai beverage I got tasted like pumpkin, def. Not vanilla chai. The wrap I got was good, but they forgot the tomato. This is my 2nd time here, the 1st they completely messed up my order, bit apologized and remade. Well, maybe one day try them again. Ok, so I come here from time to time. I like the baked goods and the coffee is solid. In fact, I started going to Buckie's probably 14 years ago when they were tucked in the basement of a place on 6A. Today I had a pretty bad experience: I paid $7.50 for a ham and cheese sandwich that was a DISASTER. The bread was so hastily cut, it was torn in three places and the top chunk was dangling OVER the paper presentation plate (see my illustration). The two slices of ham were so ineptly placed that the resulting asymmetry was positive evidence of an incredible lack of care and complete disregard for the customer. The mustard was slopped on unevenly: both in terms of surface area coverage and density. Thus, one bite yielded probably a full teaspoon of mustard and the next, no mustard at all. Finally, the bread was so forcibly smashed together that I could make out both palm and finger indentations that pretty much made me think that whoever slammed this together must suffer from some unresolved anger issues. All in all, it made me so upset at having to pay for a culinary insult that I returned fully half of the sandwich to the cashier and said that I was so disgusted at the sheer contempt exhibited that I didn't even want my money back! Nothing irritates me more than paying probably TWENTY TIMES the material cost of the ingredients EXCEPT paying twenty times and turning out a piece of ugly, poorly made crap. Yeah, I'll be back for the coffee and pastries, maybe. But it might be months. It's going to take a while to scrape the bitterness of this experience off my tongue. read more

Looks super cute from the outside with lots of charm and seasonal decor, but inside it appears a little run down. I arrived right before closing on Saturday and was the only person there. Staff seemed a little tired or disengaged. Not super welcoming. I ordered a green tea and soy latte to drink in the car and a cannoli for later in the evening. My main complaint was that it took a rather long time for them to get these things together. Also, both items, while not bad, we just average. My husband got the salmon and Greek style panini - soooo tasty too - wish there was a tad more salmon in it though! My daughters got a chocolate cupcake and chocolate chip cookie which they loved. (This review is a bit delayed) I had decided to pop in while walking around the area a bit ago. I will say they had a large selection and everything looked amazing. The issues began with the fact that there were only three young teenagers working the entire store. I ordered two drinks and two mini cannolis. After ordering my drinks one of the teenagers audibly said that she did not want to make my drinks and told one of the other workers to do it. Once I ordered the cannolis she responded with a groan and the girl taking our order had to convince her to make them. While waiting for our food the two workers making my order could be heard complaining and voicing their confusion about my simple order. My order took at least 10 minutes to be made. There were no other customers waiting on orders, the workers were only working on mine. The girl making the cannolis walked around and talked to the others delaying our order even more. I will say that the drinks were delicious (I believe they were called chai chills.) The rest of the experience was disappointing and frankly upsetting. read more

Dear Buckies, Today I'm breaking up with you. After many years of loyal service, I'm calling it quits after my experience with you this morning. I waited over an hour for a breakfast sandwich and experienced the worst customer service I've ever encountered. After checking in on my order a couple of times, I was told that it would be ready soon since everything was taking at least 20 minutes. After an hour, I had them check one more time and my order wasn't even started. I ended up cancellling the order and left. Why couldn't you have told me when I ordered that the wait time would be so long? Or maybe apologized when I had to leave empty handed after an hour of waiting? I understand that it's a busy weekend but come on...an hour for a breakfast sandwich? I have worked in the food industry on the Cape and am sensitive to rude tourists so I didn't want to complain. However, I saw the owner on my way out and told her politely what had happened (if I were her, I would want to know that I was losing customers due to rude and slow service). She shrugged and told me that next time I should call ahead. Now I know who trained the counter help. Completely acceptable lattes, breakfast dishes, and baked goods, unbelievably slow, disorganized and awful service. I've been here when it's busy, in the height of summer, and in the fall after the summer people are gone, and it's been the same experience on three out of four visits. Notes for management: -Rather than expecting customers to understand that two registers DOES NOT mean two lines, buy a que partition and help them form a line -Train your staff. These guys don't take orders correctly, they don't ring people up correctly, they leave off customer substitutions... all this stuff costs you money, every single day. Day in and day out. Just as an example, I ordered two vanilla soy lattes with an additional espresso shot in each. My total was around $12, I happily paid, since that's what I'd spend at Starbucks. I stood and waited for, no joke, ten minutes. I watched multiple customers complain about items being handed to them that were wrong, or their long waits. I was then handed two vanilla soy lattes and two single espresso shots. The girl who made my coffee explained to me that she "forgot to put them in" and suggested I just drink a little and pour them in myself. Reasons why that is BS: 1. I paid $6 (each) for the drink I actually ordered 2. I order my drink in a particular way because that's what I want, in terms of taste and nutritional profile. I don't want to drink an additional two ounces of milky coffee. 3. Admitting that you got it wrong and asking me to fix it tells me that this employee doesn't care about the experience I have at Buckie's. She doesn't think her job matters, or what she does matters. She is wrong. She is dead wrong. This is YOUR business, owner/manager. If it fails, it will have serious consequences in your life. Awful experience! Dawn the only employee in the restaurant on May 1st had an attitude from the very beginning. Every question I asked her about the offerings was met with an attitude that I was bothering her. When I got my bagel sandwich the bacon was raw and when I requested the bacon be cooked she threw everything into the microwave and I received an overcooked bacon egg sesame bagel sandwich. The bagel was so hard I couldn't even chew it. Never again will I go to Buckies in Dennis Port. read more
