Sunday brunch included the Buckram Stabilizer burger, a bowl of chili and a pint of Guinness. Cozy ambience. Good service. Decent unpretentious food.

Inside entranceway, looking right towards bar area.

Finally made it to Locust Valley on New Year's Day. Buckram was a great little find for lunch. Had a great little cut steak and tomatoes lunch. Also, two delicious Patron-infused Rita's. What wasn't to like? Family run op. Will definitely be back this week. Highly recommend.

I had been meaning to come here and was so happy we finally did. Food was amazing! Even my son thought so and ate almost all his pasta. Nice quaint little place. Service was great. I can't wait to come back.

A must try!!!! This is the perfect casual restaurant you can go to on a whim but still have great food and drinks! I went for my first time recently and will be going back for sure!! On top of great food I loved that they had a cute little outdoor area. The service was also great....Friendly staff was noticed and appreciated. If you're in the area definitely go!! Also.... I think the honey mustard was the best honey mustard I've ever had in my life....seriously !

    Gazpacho - bowl with avocado

Three of us had Sunday dinner here as we had been in the area. Happily, there was space in the back patio and we were given a table quickly. We had the gazpacho with avocado that was quite good (thick and flavorful). We had two Cobb salads and one Greek salad with salmon. The salads were also tasty and tasted refreshing on a warm day. I was surprised the menu didn't have more seasonal options as it seemed most of the items were very appropriate for cooler weather. I'd like to come back on a fall day to taste these.

The restaurant was moderately full, but not as full as one would think leading up to a holiday weekend. My party of 4 always enjoys a cocktail before dinner. We were seated promptly for our 7:30pm reservation, and we placed our drink orders soon after. What is unforgivable and truly amazing given that the restaurant was not super busy is that it took over 35 minutes to get those drinks. There are really no words for this. While perusing the menu, I asked one of the bus people if I could have a wine list as our server was no where to be found. She acknowledged me with a nod, but then went off and about clearing tables, totally disregarding my request. After several minutes upon realizing that my request was being blatantly ignored, I had to go up to the bar area myself to request a wine list. At this point, the same bus person saw me doing this and looked panicked. I am not sure if she did not speak English or if she was a tad slow and/or incompetent, but again, inexcusable. The meal for the most part was decent, but prices had definitely gone up quite a bit from my last visit. Maybe that might explain why the restaurant was not that busy. As a final note, the restaurant made no acknowledgment of my birthday, even though it was stated quite clearly in my reservation. Oh well, not the end of the world, but reflective of the way this establishment is managed. Overall, I cannot say that I had a totally poor experience, but I can honestly say that I did not have a great experience either.

I had the wedge salad and asked for it to be chopped. Done. Then I had Chicken Marsala. My husband and friend had salad with salmon and the roasted chicken. Overall, the food was delicious! Service attentive. I'd go back but I'd take someone with whom I didn't want to have a conversation - too loud. Haha Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review. The food and friendly service were great.

Bread baskets came out to 3 tables that arrived after us, we had completely empty water glasses and no one coming by to ask for more water. It took a long time for our food to arrive, meanwhile people who sat after us got served. There was also some confusion about which server was responsible for our table. We heard they were short a server but honestly, where was the manager? Every table suffered from a lack of service. We were down to our last bites of food when our server finally showed up to check on our meal. For the food: the salmon with the curry sauce was good, however the sauce had no sign of curry...more of a soy sauce flavor. I was disappointed as that was why I ordered it. Two of us got that. The 3rd person got the fried fish sandwich for $26 that Henry's could have done a better job. It's too bad that the man who appeared to be the manager seems to be doing nothing. Any restaurant with this kind of situation should have had a manager walking around, perhaps doing a small dessert or something that made customers feel better about the lack of service. Members of our family have been here many times but seriously rethinking coming again for a while.

I'd definitely have another party here in the future, and look forward to stopping by for dinner soon.

We were seated immediately in the room toward the back left corner where we were the only table occupying the space. In fact, as the evening progressed, no other diners/groups were seated back there, which was nice. We observed that although it was a Friday evening at prime dinner hour, the restaurant never got too full nor was the bar area buzzing. Again, it was nice that it wasn't so hectic in there, but we noted that as curious for a spot like this, on a Friday evening, and when the weather was pleasant. Starting with a high point: our server was really good. He was a very nice young man who let us know at the end of our meal that it was actually his first day on the job. While we could tell he didn't know everything about the menu - which is totally understandable given him being a new hire - he was kind, personable, and went above and beyond to provide excellent and timely service. As for the venue, it was nice although not upscale and that was just our speed for this evening. We loved having the room to sit comfortably at a setup that could comfortably seat 8. As for the food, it was decent although I wouldn't call anything I tasted fantastic. For apps, we shared 2 orders apiece of calamari, crab cakes, and lamb chops (6 apps total) with the chops being my favorite out of those. The calamari were small and didn't pack a lot of flavor but they were fried well. The marinara sauce that came with it was also fine but not remarkable. The crab cakes were a little mushy for our liking. For my entrée, I ordered the Lobster Rigatoni. There was plenty of lobster on top, the portion was more than solid, and it came out at the right temperature but the flavor again failed to really impress and was somewhere between "fine" to "good". For dessert, I ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I was truly disappointed by that. For starters, there was no gooey "lava" as the name implied, and the edges were dry and seemed overcooked. The flavor again fell a little flat and I didn't bother to finish it even though I am usually a huge fan of chocolate desserts. All in all, we had an enjoyable evening as a crew, but the food could be elevated a bit from a flavor standpoint. I would give the food a little better than a "3" but I think they have enough going for them that amping up the flavors could do wonders for their desirability and drawing more diners.
