But I had just had my breaks replaced 10k miles ago so I went back to CAR CLINIC AND TRUCKS TO in Puyallup and they took off the wheels and showed me my breaks are at 80%. I needed a diagnosis for my truck having a rough idle. They fit me in that afternoon and didn't take too long to give it a look. They gave me a quote and did not charge me for the diagnosis. I wasn't sure about this place at first. Their other reviews are mixed. They don't offer much in terms of a nice waiting area. And, they were convinced I had a V6 even after I told them it is the in-line 4. But, I'm used to paying over $100 for a diagnosis so these issues didn't warrant removing a star. I have gone to this buckys for over 15 years. Other the last 15 months, I have had over $6K in various repairs and maintenance. Generally they have done a good job. However, I am never going back after my last experience. Needed to fix a leak and replace water pump. This work was completed on a SAT, but TUE the tensioner pulley just failed. The pully and water pump are in the same area and use the same belt on my model. I would have hoped that during the repairs for the pump that an inspection would have revealed that the pulley was on it way out. I was told that they can just seize. It just so happened two days after work was completed. I also asked for brakes (they did the work 3 months prior) to be inspected as they were vibrating when going down hill. I was assured that they would be warrantied out and fixed. That work was not completed. They eventually replaced the brakes after taking the vehicle back to have it repaired. I also had work inspected by dealer service center as I was having repeat issues. The dealer confirmed new pump, but noticed an old serpentine belt. Buckys assured me that this was replaced, but it was not documented in the invoice. To finish it off, at pick up my vehicle was backed into another vehicle. Their insurance covered the costs of repair and rental, but not without multiple calls and emails to Buckys, Corp and their insurance. read more

My grandson took his Jeep in for a tune up. They charged him full price for oil change and would not honor the Groupon. They did not perform a tune up. They charged him $140 for a diagnostic. What a crock!! They then wanted another $358 for a sensor. My grandson is a functioning autistic, but has high anxiety when dealing with strangers. When I called to ask wtf...he was not offered any adjustment...I consider this theft by omission and mistreatment of the disabled. Do not patronize these people. read more

They screwed my daughter and I. Took car in was overheating, said was thermostat and water pump, $550 later called said car was running fine and ready to pick up. 2 miles away overheated again. Took back and said head gasket was leaking water into oil and radiator was 70% blocked and repairs would be additional $2,500. DO NOT use them anywhere better fixing and breaking on own. Don't take your car to any of these guy's locations. They really take the extra time to put the fear of god in their customers especially females. My mother-in-law took her van to this location and they told her it would cost $2,800 for them to fix her van and that she was lucky she didn't kill herself or someone else. She didn't have the money so she called me. I pretended that I was having my car worked on and asked for all the services that wrote on my mother's invoice/quote they told me it would be $1500 including tax. Huge price difference on the exact same parts and car. Just two hours difference in time. Came back after 2.5 hours and Randy at the front desk argued with us that he said it would be two hours however several people are in front of us. I took my Chevrolet Silverado to Bucky's Complete Auto Repair in Puyallup. Both my muffler as well as the tubing had begun rusting through. I met the manager and asked if he could look at my truck and give me an estimate. He immediately crawled under my truck, inspected the exhaust system, explained which parts had rusted through and would need to be replaced--and which parts would need no work. Right then he gave me an very fair price for the work. I was very pleased with the service and the work that they did; they replaced the tubing with heavy duty aluminum (which, of course, will never rust)--and welded in additional hangers to provide better support for the tubing and the muffler. The front desk guy didn't know dick and was showing frustrations with the questions I had for my car. Not to be racists but one of the tech could barley speak english. Service Writer Steven was courteous and helpful when I took a friend's vehicle in for repair, however, on second visit the servicing tech made a serious error by indicating right front axle needed replacing to solve a noise issue. The left front was an issue when checked at another shop, but noise problem was a transmission related issue. If I could give ZERO stars for this review I most definitely would. First and foremost, as we are in the middle of a Pandemic, one would expect businesses to comply with a minimum of maintaining social distancing and wearing of masks, particularly around customers. Nope. Not at Bucky's on South Hill. No masks, no social distancing efforts are made of any kind, and they take absolutely zero precautions to protect customers or even themselves when inside the vehicle. No liners for the seats, steering wheel, no wiping anything down-nada. Secondly, they left the inside of my vehicle full of grease smears all over the headliner, inside of the doors, and my seats covered with oil from their coveralls. They enjoyed a nice 300+ mile joy ride based on the mileage recorded on my invoice. My car was riffled through as well-which is proven by the grease prints on the glove box, sunglasses holder (Sunglasses had been taken out and were in the back seat when I picked up the car. There is no need for this), center console and storage compartments, sticky residue on the floor mats in the back seat. I wiped down the entire car with Clorox wipes before leaving it with them for the weekend to repair. Only to have it returned to have to wipe it down again and the wipes turned BLACK from all the grease they left behind. Do not expect that they will call you when they say they will either, because you will be calling them before they attempt to call you. When Randy was asked the reason for all of this nonsense, the only response given was, "I don't know what yo tell you". Never again, Bucky's, never ever again. Please take your car anywhere else if you care about your health, quality of work, and service you are to receive. This place and the tweeked out mechanics are a freakin joke. UPDATE: Damien from the Bucky's Corporate office sent us to Classy Chassis to have my vehicle detailed for the mess they left in my car. We had to go back to classy Chassis twice, but are thankful Bucky's corporate office was stand up enough to clean up their mess. Also, talked to four other mechanics, including Lakewood Ford, regarding Bucky's South Hill putting 300+ miles on my car. All stated that 300 miles over the weekend is excessive and uncalled for. DON'T TRUST THESE GUYS!! I have gone to this place 5 times, twice for oil changes and once for a new tailpipe and muffler. So when my truck sprung a severe oil leak I had no issues taking it to them. After an inspection was done, they said it had multiple oil leaks and I said fix it. After a couple of days and $900 later, I started my truck to take her home. It shocked me that there was a rod knock so loud that it that I new I couldn't drive it without possibly throwing a rod through the block! I walked back in and asked why they didn't they tell me the engine was toast before doing all the oil leak repair work! They tried to tell me that they never started the truck, that they pushed it across the parking lot uphill into the bay. That they never started it to see where it was leaking oil! This was very questionable to me but then Randy seemed so sincere and apologetic that I wanted to believe him. He even said he would give me a good price on installing a new engine. Only $1350 plus any additional parts that might be necessary. I bought another engine, had it delivered and they went to work. They called with a new estimate of $1700 because a few new parts were needed. When I went to pick up the truck the bill was now over $2200 because even more stuff was needed according to Randy. When I went through the itemized bill it had several things done that I didn't authorize ahead of time including a new set of plug wires. My wires were less than 3 months old! I brought this to their attention and he said "my guy broke them when he took them off"! I said "no my fault or faulty wires, so he took that cost off. Drove the truck home and head a weird knocking noise when I hit 25 miles an hour and the starter was not engaging correctly. Took it back to them again and they said that the starter was bad, the front cv half shaft needed to be replaced and the differential needed to be replaced also. I told him that the starter was just replaced 14 months ago! I then asked Randy to write up a written estimate at which point he said they would try to work out a way to get the starter fixed under an extended warranty. I said alright but I was very upset. When they called me to pick up my truck not only was the started fixed but the knocking was also gone. Had the differential checked out and it is fine! Another thing, they kept saying how they had called to give me updates multiple times while they were working on the truck but there were no missed calls or messages on my phone! These guys are unreliable, do shoddy work, inflat their prices and lie about what your auto really needs! read more

I took my car here for an oil change because of the coupon that I got in the mail. They ended up over torquing and stripping the bolt that holds the oil pan in place. I only know this because I took my car to the Honda dealership for my next oil change and they found it. I ended up having to pay $10 for a new bolt. Their "cheap" oil changes aren't so cheap when they ruin other parts that end up needing to be replaced. Never going back here again. read more

Took my car in for a quote. They told us that to repair it would be $1000 as the part alone would be $400. Well we took it too a another shop which is replacing the AC condenser, belt and another piece I can't remember the name of and they are only charging us 430 including the price of the tow to get it in. That's total with labor. In other words buckys, in my opinion, was trying to rip us off. I would suggest looking into Dinosaur Tires in Graham. They always take care of us and go the extra mile when they can. They even repainted my front bumper free of charge. read more

Do NOT have your car serviced here!! They do shoddy work, at best! Took my Subaru in because of a leak with my power steering pump. When I picked up my car and drove about a mile away, lots of smoke coming from the engine. Lifted the hood to check it out and saw the cap for the power steering fluid had not been locked down all the way so fluid sprayed out and was burning on the hot manifold. On the way back, my power steering failed and it was very hard to turn the car. Later I saw them filling the steering fluid reservoir with power steering fluid when they should have known my car takes ATF. It says it right on the cap! They replaced the pump once again, costing another 3 hours of my day. I drove it home and heard a whirring noise when turning the car. I went back to Bucky's a few days later to have them fix this. They replaced the pump once again and I insisted they use the proper ATF fluid this time. Oh, and during my engine inspection at home, I found a loose bolt sitting at the bottom lodged between the frame and the oil pan. A bit unnerving. Very frustrating experience from the get go. Left the cap loose, put in the wrong type fluid, took 3 tries to get a working pump. Follow up: I still saw a leak of what I thought was motor oil still dripping down on the oil filter. I took it in to a Subaru specialty shop and they said whoever installed the power steering pump crimped the o-ring which was causing the leak. Guess who installed the pump: Bucky's. I paid another $56 for them to fix the o-ring. Never ever going back to Bucky's ever again. read more

Took my car to buckys in Puyallup for an over heating issue, left my car there at 9am on a Sunday, they didn't get around to looking at it until 3pm. They said I needed a new thermostat, a flush and that my radiator had hot and cold spots, i.e. meaning my radiator was dead, that I needed a new one (also I could not flush it because the radiator is supposedly made of plastic, according to Buckys), and all that was going to cost me 730 plus tax, and then after that I might have a blown head gasket.....well I just got done changing my thermostat myself and guess what....no over heating issue, problem solved. Cost me 32 bucks for the part and a good afternoon with my daughter helping me fix it! Is Buckys a rip-off? I'll let you decide, it's not worth the risk. We will never go back again. :( read more

Having read some of the more recent reviews, I felt compelled to write an update. I still bring ALL of my cars here as does the rest of my family. I've never felt lied to or cheated. This staff always takes the time to explain the repairs and has gone so far as to take me to the car up on the lift and show me what was wrong. They price shop their parts suppliers so that they can give me the best price possible on the repair, and they stand behind their work. They've even gone so far as to look at my car and tell me if it was safe to drive when they knew that it was still under warranty with my dealership and that they would not be doing the repairs on it. A great shop is an invaluable thing to have in a family with 8 vehicles to care for between my husband, myself and our 4 teen/ adult kids, and I am grateful to have found this one. read more

I brought my truck in here to get the exhaust replaced. I unfortunately had nothing but trouble after that. The exhaust hug to low melted through my speedometer cable and constantly broke brackets. The service manager was a delight to deal with. They stood by there work years after it was completed. Unfortunately not everything in life turns out perfectly but it very reassuring to find a place that stands buy the quality of there work good or bad.
