I've had the best experience here! I came in knowing that I needed a new catlytic convertor, and expected it to be insanely expensive. Joey was very knowledgeable and was able to break it down for me in terms that I understood. They did a free inspection to confirm if/what convertor was bad, and told me exactly what they needed to do. He was able to beat the price quote that I received from another shop, ordered the part and replaced it all in the same day! I had a similar experience to the one below, Went in for emissions repair and was quoted 2 times what the repair should cost, $340 estimate every where else $170. I declined and then they charged me a diagnostic fee for which they were unable to provide any paper work/proof that they had done anything at all. After a bunch of lies and BS trying to justify there charge I finally got my keys back without the diagnostic fee (I had actually provided the diagnostic report to them from O'Rielly's) ....STAY AWAY, they are flat out thieves! I will be making an entry at "Rip-Off Report" as well...I'd give minus stars if it were possible. Dear Bucky, if you read these things, I knew you personally, back when, and always had agreat experience at your Des Moines shop. But Lynnwoodwood is run by criminals. Protect you stellar reputation and clean house in Lynnwood, please! I don't usually go on these websites to make comments but I just had to this one time. I went to Buckys because my brakes went from nothing to grinding. They quoted me $740 for my back brakes they said I needed this that and the other. I told him I would have to think about it but went to Brakes for Less in Lynnwood instead to get a second opinion. They said my left back had 90% left and only the right one needed rotors and they quoted me $249. I'll never go to Buckys again ever! I had my transmission fluid serviced at Bucky's in Lynnwood where I had a bad experience and would not bring my car here again. However the owner of this chain listened to my complaint and offered me a solution that I was pleased with. I had my car re-serviced at their Shoreline location where I was greeted by Rob, the store manager. Rob was very knowledgeable and courteous to me the entire time and made me feel he cared about my satisfaction. He even took the time to examine my car for possible leaks and where I would need possible repairs in the future. I have been a Bucky's customer working on 8 years now. They have prooven to be reliable and have very reasonable rates. In the almost eight years, I have only had to return for rework three times. That's a pretty solid track record. They stand by their work. If something doesn't work after being repaired, they warranty it or just repair it on their dime. The people that have negative experiences, are people w/unrealistic repair expectations. They are customers that don't use the same mechanic to work on their vehicle. Worst experience ever! I came around 8am and the guy in the front was kinda pissed cause i was a littlle early interupting his cup noodles breakfast. They charge by the hour. I watched and noticed that guy working on my car is working on 3 different cars too. Then when i told the guy in the counter that my car was up at 8:30 and the guy working on my car was working on 2 different cars he said "nice try" with a pig smile. Rip off! I recently gave these guys a shot on a water pump repair along with t-case/trans service. Very fair priced and nice guys to boot. I have to say, I have been in the automotive industry for over 13 years and this is the first time I have attended a shop for repairs (due to back injury). I will be returning to them as their work is fantastic and they were extremely friendly to my 9mos old daughter. In response to the negative comments below, my experience was completely the opposite. Maybe they are users looking for something for nothing. In contrast to the dealerships I have worked for their labor rates and part prices are much, much, lower. I'm extremely disappointed with what has happened to Bucky's. I used to be able to trust this shop 100% I took my car in 2 weeks ago for an inspection. I made it CLEAR that it was new to me and I needed it checked out. They came up with an $800 brake job quote that we settled on $500...they said everything else looked good Today, less than 50 miles later, my radiator went out. After letting it cool I found it had ZERO coolant in it - I'm not a mechanic, but if I request a purchase inspection, don't you think FLUIDS would be a minimum check point?!?! Went here yesterday on the Amazon Local deal for brakes. 1. Trish is a tremendous asset to the store. She's friendly, knowledgeable, and holds people accountable for the things that need to happen. While I was there, I let her know that the trash can was overflowing in the lobby, and she immediately went to get the person who had apparently been responsible for that job and had them fix it. 2. I came in to have all four wheels done, but I always ask to see what's going on after the wheels are off and before the work begins. They showed me and we talked about both front and back - and they told me that the back wasn't needed, so we shouldn't do it, but that they could clean and adjust the back. I agreed to that because I know how I drive, and what I drive in. That said, I'm not sure the service was worth $30, but it was worth not having to pull the tires off when I got home to brush the brakes and tighten some screws. They did not try to sell me rotors - and told me that in three weeks I would have needed them. Thanks!! The upcharge for ceramic brakes vs. Semi-metallic was a surprise when she said it over the phone, but my car requires so little service that I prefer to put the right things on rather than the cheap things. The difference in my car was immediately evident when I braked, and we're taking my other half's car to them on Saturday for the other amazon coupon that was supposed to be my back brakes! Brought a car for pre-purchased inspection, I called in to set up an appointment but when my saleman arrived, he had to wait for 15min. It took them 2 HOURS to inspect the car and they didn't do a thorough job test driving it. The car's allignment was ruined with the car steering itself to the right but they said the allignment is okay. Both my saleman and I agreed that the alignment is off but they said it's okay. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. The manager Joey straight up yelled at me...why because I was upset that they had my vehicle for a day an a half (mind you this was the third attempt to fix their mess up) apparently fixing something they had messed up, and low and behold they didn't even have the part. Guess it took them 3 weeks to order a part that isn't even made anymore. With almost $2000 spent in less than 2 months. I understand mistakes happen but the way he handled it was unacceptable. I read all the reviews prior to deciding to utilize Buckys in Lynwood. I called ahead and asked for a quote for a large suspension job on my truck. My experience at buckys is from my view as a mechanic myself. I can see why some might find the manager a bit short or "rude". I did not experience this, he is direct and very concise, but not rude at all. I was there waiting and observing for 6 hours as my job was very large. I found the manager to be very knowledgeable, and Infact part of a dying breed of real auto mechanics. His crew as I watched, seemed to be mostly experienced guys and other customers were in and out quickly. The guy that worked on my truck didn't seem to be as experienced, but there was what seemed to be a floating master mechanic if you will that was very engaged. I must note, the manager quoted me for an 8 hour job that would be standard for my repair. Unforeseen complications arose that ended up taking just over 10 hours to complete. He did not however charge me for the overage. This shop stuck to their word, did a professional job and at no time complained or tried to bs me out of more $$. As a mechanic for over 15 years, I can happily recommend this shop to anyone needing general auto servicing, or specialized servicing like suspension. Their prices are fair based on what other shops in the area charge, and they are very forthcoming about what's going on with your car. Horrible service!!! They will take your money for small jobs. Tried charging me for 10.5 hours of keeping my car on only a 3 hour Job! Then only did half the job but charged me ridiculously. as soon as I left my car said to shut it off and when I check the coolant had been drained and oil was half full, I just had my Audi serviced last month and they were the only ones to work on it and the job they were supposed to do had nothing to do with any fluids. They F'd my car up but won't take responsibility. horrible customer service rude to their customers and liars!!! I beg you please do not come here. SUPER-FANTASTIC, AWESOME! When my Check Engine light came on, I was referred to Bucky's by O'Riley's. They did the diagnostic (free of charge) and quoted a very reasonable price. Manifold ordered, and another verbal confirmation (including labor), I brought my Toyota Camry in to have the work done. Four hours later (due to bolt that needed to have the mechanic run out to get), the time came to settle the bill, but to my shock and surprise, was triple what I was quoted! (Note to self, ALWAYS get a written estimate.) Rather than indifference, the Manager worked very hard to get the price as close as he could to the original estimate, at a substantial disadvantage to him, in order to honor their original estimate. That shows incredible integrity seeing as neither of us had written proof of the estimate. I am eternally grateful for their above and beyond customer service and I intend to trust them with all my future mechanical needs. Today June 16, 2020 I took my car to Buckley muffler Shop to have an estimate on damage muffler line. Joey Jacobs is the manager of the store, he did the estimate for my vehicle on the muffler. He told me he will repair the damage, straighten out the muffler line and get all straight up. He estimate for the repair between $150 to $200 or less, so I was agree. So he worker did the job, i saw him cutting out the muffler line. And he add 10 inches extension welded on and two muffler hangers. After his finish, low down the vehicle. I was asking him nicely. Can you straight the muffler line for me and he get angry, tell his boss Joey Jacobs come out and talk to me. I was asking Joey about straight out muffler line. He gets angry and Cussed bad words at me. That is really bad Customer Service. Be careful when he estimated, he would jack up the price later on, after work done. I went to a different muffler shop (Dan Fast mufffler) down the street from them and they said they couldn't fix my exhaust on my e63 amg. It was simple broken exhaust hanger that Buckys was nice enough to help out a local and tac weld it up for no charge. Bucky's charged me $218 in August, 2019 and didn't fix anything. Even worse, they left out parts when they reassembled the engine. And, some bolts weren't even tightened! Previously, my car was in for a different repair, but they checked the battery and found it to be weak, so I trusted them to give me a good price said to replace it. They charged me $139 for an $80 battery including labor. Walmart would have charged me $80 with free labor. I'm never going back to Bucky's!!! read more

I have been bringing my cars and truck here for over 10 years. I've brought my family's vehicles here too and always recommend them to my friends. Oil changes, brakes, anything I've ever needed for my vehicles has been taken care of by Buckys. Joey Jacobs has been the manager who has helped me for the most part but I did business with Trish when she managed here as well. Joey Jacobs has always given me honest, accurate qoutes and has even worked with me on prices when I'm in a bind. I also want to give credit to the technicians here. Every single one of them is courteous and knowledgeable about vehicles. I now live in Burien and I still take my vehicles to Lynnwood Buckys, always. I consider Joey and the tech's who work here to be a second family to me and would never recommend anywhere else. Working in the automotive repair industry can't be easy and I've witnessed many a customer who have treated Joey and his workers with disrespect for situations that they have no control over. I realize how frustrating it can be to have a broken vehicle, however, there is no excuse for the treatment I've seen these guys subjected to and every time they handle the situation and the rudeness with courtesy and respect. I have been going to Bucky's for over 15 years. Their service level has been in a steady decline over those years, especially over the last few years. I took our car to them to get the air conditioning recharged, a week later it wasn't working again. Figured, ok, must have a leak, but it was the end of summer, so no big deal. Took it back to them the next summer to have them find the leak and fix it, turns out there was just a connection that was loose.... so 150 bucks later they "fixed it", the connection that they didn't put on right in the first place. Even better, the car was struck while on their lot, but of course they have no cameras or proof it was done there, even though I took pictures and took it back to them not 20 minutes after we picked it up from them. Joey shook my hand and said "we don't want to lose your business, lets see what we can do". He was going in for wrist surgery and said to talk to him the next week. Well, of course after that the response was, its not our fault and we aren't doing anything about it. So, don't trust his handshake. As well, surprise, surprise, the air conditioning isn't working now. It's a shame, because I have been recommending them for years, but I can't do it anymore. Yes, they are cheaper than the places around them, and it used to be they were cheap and good. Now, not only are they cheap, but perhaps even a little dishonest or at the very least incompetent and not wiling to stand behind their work. I've told them that they were going to lose my business, which they have. Now I'm torn about trying to go back to them and make them actually fix the air conditioner, which I've paid them twice to do now.... The problem is I have no confidence in their work, or that they would even try to fix it so I probably won't. read more

Very disappointed with my service. 1. I got my car "fixed" on friday ( this past friday 2/10/17) and my car broke down on Sunday. RIGHT AFTER they said everything was fine with my car- very disheartening. I had to call AAA. Thankfully I know a better auto place that is much more honest. I normally don't write reviews at all but in this case I had to. I never been more sad nor disappointed with any auto service before. After my car was supposedly fixed- all my lights came on such as the air bag light, abs light, battery light...making it worst weekend ever because now I have to spend money that I don't really have (all this for an oil change) and i have all these problems. Not only does the money aspect sucks but just knowing that you have people who you are forced to trust with your belongings- don't have your best interest at heart. Times are rough and you would think that people would step up and be more honest/help/do their job...not sucker you out of money ( in my case more money). 2. I was stranded several hundreds of miles from homes with a thermostat pointing red, the heater fan cranked high and marijuana fumes blowing through the vents on a Saturday afternoon. I drove to the nearest mechanic open...my luck ran out. I should have either yelped bucky's before accepting their offer to diagnose my leaking coolant or continued breathing the toxic fumes until I had a different perspective of my plight . All the good mechanics were closed. Christy was oozing sympathy over the phone...she can make a rock come to her, let alone a desperate me in a HOT ride . Had I known how wonderful Seattle's bus system was, I would have waited until Monday to have my car looked at by a professionally managed auto repair shop...I blame my poor judgement on the marijuana coolant fumes. I think this place is lousy for several reasons: 1). They don't listen. I told Christy, who discussed with the manager, before they start removing the radiator, make sure they have all possible parts for water pump and related possible repair available. christy agreed and reassured me all would be taken care of. Christy listens, however, can only hand me a tissue to cry into about my car woes. Of course at 4pm, they're scrambling to order the timing tensioner. None is available for delivery until Monday. The manager, joey, says "I'm sorry" at 4:30pm. He doesn't offer any real solution and does not accept responsibility for me having to waste more time in lynnwood. 2) They don't care about their customers. 1.5 hours into the radiator removal, the water pump arrives. Prior to the pump arrival...christy tells me they are half way done. I go to the backyard to see for myself progress. I didn't like the way front shop looked empty...and why was my car in the back? I'm mentally freaking out when I realized the manager had assigned a sloppy novice apprentice to work on my car, knowing I needed the car running in 3 hrs. At 4pm, an older gentleman who was the mentor for these novices, was relaxing. HEY YOU...MY CAR IS NOT DONE! It wasn't just me experiencing poor service. Another customer was complaining to me he had been waiting since 12:30pm (It was now 3pm) to have his ac problem diagnosed. He did not leave until 4pm, after his freon was charged. He was lucky that was all he needed. I had suggested to the manager, please see what other parts should be replace before putting the radiator back. I was told they always do thorough inspections. As explained by other sources, many of these parts which I asked for replacement, go bad unexpectedly and the odds increase with age and miles, which my car had. He felt it was not necessary to change anything else because everything else looked good. Subaru forums have repeated horror incidence of people who did not change seals,crank shaft, tension pulley and etc., when the had their water pump replaced. Besides, I'm the customer paying for maintenance of my vehicle. 3) Sloppy performance. My car still had the engine cover at the bottom on when Fritts had already drained a all the coolant from my car. He and he his helper were standing in a messy puddle..more coolant was spilling out onto the cover as he disconnects radiator hose from the engine. I heard bolts falling from god know where on the radiator as he is struggling to remove the radiator. He has difficulty unscrewing the bottom radiator bolts because he can't see the bottom bolts...WHY? The engine cover is still on...the ground is too muddy from coolant to lay down...the car is not elevated for comfortable viewing. Because of all these self created poor conditions, valuable time was lost removing the radiator and NOT because it was difficult. How can you properly diagnose, let alone thoroughly diagnose, a car without exposing all aspects of the car? Update-Monday 8/24 Joey, the manager, is as he was when I left Saturday. 22 years of being a mechanic doesn't make a person a good mechanic-look at george bush's 8 years of presidency. I paid Joey $245 ransom to release my car from Bucky's prison. It would been cheaper to cont the repair with them, however, I don't trust their abilities to perform nor do I trust they will be respond appropriately or timely towards future issues caused by them . FYI: the price here is cheap for certain easy repair. However, after a thorough inspection, you may find they are just as expensive as the next shop but not as reliable. I asked the local body shops near Bucky for their mechanic shop, none used bucky. And of the auto shop highly recommended by yelp and body shops, they were not surprised, and on shop said, "anybody along hwy 99 BUT Bucky's. Avoid them like the bird flu. read more

I decided to go to buckys for an oil change. Typically an oil change is a rather simple task, usually taking less than 30 minutes depending on the number of people ahead of you. Since buckys was close by, I decided to try them out. This was the WORST decision of my life. Not only was their customer service horrible, but they do NOT know how to give oil changes. Why offer to do it when you don't know how? I ended up towing my vehicle just a couple days after my oil change from buckys because all the oil drained out because they don't know how to give a proper oil changes. All my oil ended up leaking out of my engine, therefore damaging my engine. Then, when my engine light came on after they "fixed it" they said something was wrong with my oxygen compressor saying that it had nothing to do with oil and I had to pay to get that service done. FIRST OFF, My car had never had this issue. Secondly, when I went to a different mechanic, they said my engine was damaged and I indeed needed my oxygen compressor switched out but it was due to the oil leakage that leaked into the compressor. This was most definitely a cause and effect situation but buckys would not admit their faults and blamed it on coincidence. I ended up paying $700 to pay for their wrong doing and lack of skills. They not only lied but yelled back at me. Great job guys. You guys may look forward to a lawsuit. read more

I am giving Bucky's one star for a very specific reason. They straight up lied to me, in possibly the most humorous, easily provable way possible. I shall elaborate shortly. But first the good: Trish, the manager, was very personable and friendly. Literally the most personable and friendly interaction I've every had with a service rep at an auto repair facility. Also, the work (a muffler replacement) seems solid. But here's the bad: I left my car at 10 AM for them to look at at tell me what I might need done (specifically I knew I needed a replacement muffler installed). Trish told me they would call me back in about an hour. An hour later I called her, and she said she had another car on the rack where mine would go, so it would take about another hour. Five hours later, at 4, she finally called. She recommended I replace everything for $450 dollar, saying, among other things, that my "cat" was shot, so I should replace everything right up to and including it. I asked her what she meant by "cat" and confirmed that she meant "catalytic converter." Now it's important to know, my car is a 1972 BMW. They did not have catalytic converters. I believe mostly they came into use around 1975 to deal with new emission regulations... but regardless, it's hard to see how my car's "cat" could be shot, considering it doesn't exist and has never existed. I was in a conundrum; I only had about 250 dollars to spend, and I needed the specific muffler replaced; I told her I couldn't afford her first option (not that I would have paid to replace a non-existent part) and she came back with $350 to replace everything up to and including the resonator (she used a different term I think). This might have been a good suggestion and reasonable price, but I only had 250 so she came back with 200 dollars to replace the muffler, and re-pipe from the resonator so everything lines up (the previous owner of my car had all this crazy aftermarket exhaust crud on it). So that's what I went for; seems to be OK work; not complaining about that right now. But given that I was told to replace my non-existent catalytic converter, it makes encourage others to be careful when they are told to replace a laundry list of items. Final note: I am more than happy to be corrected. Bucky's; please feel free to let me know why you suggested I replace a mythical part. read more

Worst experience/customer service I have ever received. I dropped my car off for an oil change and a tire rotation. When I picked my car up I asked if they rotated my tires since it was someone else at the front desk. He said yes. I also wanted to double check they tested my tire pressure. They sent someone out to check and he said you need air in your tires. I myself had to pull my car into the garage as they put air in my tires. I asked again if they rotated my tires and once again was reassured they did it. When I got home my husband immediately noticed the one rim I always scratch when I park was in the same exact spot. So I went back 2 days later to tell them that they never rotated my tires. They said I would need to come back in a few hours if I wanted to get it done. I understand they run a first come first serve business but I was there a few days ago and they didn't finish the job. The guy at the front said I didn't know what I was talking about and he believed the workers over me. He insisted that they did do it and he made a sexist remark. He raised his voice and said "no matter what you say you're wasting your time and mine now. That might work at home but it isn't going to work here." I couldn't believe how he talking to me as a customer. I immediately took it else where. They took one look and said my tires were definitely not rotated. It took less then a few minutes for them to measure my tires to confirm. I will never return to a business who repeatedly lies to their customers and not own up to their mistakes. read more

This is the second time I have frequented this Bucky's location (19210 Hwy. 99 Lynnwood location). The first time I went, I was advised to replace my serpentine belt, but I declined and told them that I would replace it later. On my next visit (04/09/16), I purchased the serpentine part myself and placed it on the passenger seat in the case that a replacement would be needed. As soon as I went in, I was greeted by the assistant manager (Lou Bishop), and I told him I wanted to use the Groupon (Auto Maintenance Package, $153 value) that I had purchased beforehand and asked him if he charged to replace serpentine belts. He responded by telling me that he would let me know upon vehicle inspection. I waited for about an hour and a half (I stayed at the shop the entire time my vehicle was being serviced) and the assistant manager suddenly came back and asked if I had purchased a serpentine belt beforehand (I am assuming he found the belt on my passenger side seat) and if I wanted him to replace the part. I told him yes and continued to wait. He did not provide me with an estimate/how long the labor would take. About an hour later, the assistant manager came back and told me that I needed to pay an extra $72 for labor costs for installing the serpentine belt. I was thrown off by this as he had never provided me with a cost for labor, even after I had asked him whether or not he charged in order to replace a part upon entering the shop. I asked him why I was being charged when he had never provided me with any information prior to replacing the part. At this point in time, the shop's manager (Joey Jacobs) stepped in and started lecture me for about five to ten minutes of how costs are calculated and how Washington State law does not require an estimate unless a customer asks for one. When he pointed this out, I asked him which law he was referencing (at which point the assistant manager, Lou Bishop, muttered "Jesus Christ" under his breath), and he told me that, according to RCW 46.71.025, an estimate is not required with the exception of when a customer asks for one. I asked the manager, Joey Jacobs, to turn the computer monitor around so that I might be able to look at the law myself; in response, he hesitated to turn the monitor around and instead wrote the RCW number down on my invoice (shown in attachment). After writing the information down, he told me, "Welcome to Washington" (in those exact words) as a way of demonstrating to me that this is the way things work in Washington State. I could see that the argument was going nowhere, so I ended up paying the fee. However, when I looked up the law, I saw that it clearly states, "Written estimate required" with exceptions in subsections (3) and (4), none of which apply to my situation. This experience was incredibly condescending and patronizing - as evidenced by the way the employees talked down to me. I left the shop feeling violated and victimized. I hope that, through filing this complaint, I can prevent other customers from feeling the same way as I did. read more
