Buddhaberry advertised free waffles after the tree lighting for all the carolers at the end of the event. We leisurely walked down the street and when we got there, they had 2 employees. One claimed to not know about the free waffles and then was like, "oh yeah, no." The other said we are not doing that until 5:15 or 5:30. (It was 5:15). Then they said it's a free piece of a waffle when you buy a hot chocolate and they were waiting for the manager. Boo! Shame! My son got a cup of yogurt with some toppings and it was not even full, and cost $9.25. Definitely heftier priced than other places. If you grew up spending summers in the Hamptons in the old days, the thought of an ice cream (now froyo of course) parlor was a tiny, cramped, mildly disheveled spot that didn't even have good ice cream, but was the only game in town. Even lately as froyo became the move, they just couldn't get it right with crappy seating and a little too much on the DIY tip. And then came along Buddha Berry... I bumped into it because I parked right there and if you have an eleven year old daughter like I do, you don't pass up froyo when it is staring at you (or any other time). I was expecting a cramped DIY bouillabaisse, but what I stumbled upon was a great open space with good seating with every topping ever created and smart flavors and twists. It was easy, but not too DIY. Do you get what this means? The froyo places that pretty much let you do the pull on the yogurt then get your toppings yourself (which means spilling rainbow sprinkles in the coconut, etc.)...now you're getting it. Buddha Berry's dispensers don't unleash the whole bin of Lucky Charms when you pull it, they keep you in check. And they don't let you serve yourself the boba which is dramatically important. You really don't want someone else messing with your boba! You ask for it and they keep it behind the counter with some of the other "high end" toppings. It's billed as healthier and the truth is, none of us really care if it is or not because it says it is - good enough for me. For what some of us old timers have been through with ice cream and yogurt places out here over the years, Buddha Berry just blew up the scene. I don't care that I spent $17 for 3 buckets. Let me start by saying, I don't usually care for frozen yogurt because it always has that strange after-taste that says, "this is nothing like ice cream." Buddha Berry is different! Similar to PinkBerry (one of my favorite desert experiences to date!) Buddha Berry has an array (50+) of toppings to choose from and about 15-20 froyo flavors - each of them organically made, most low-fat, many vegan! Something for everyone! They also have sorbet! I had the salted caramel pretzel yogurt that tasted so akin to ice cream you could have told me that's what it was and I would've believed you! They also have waffles, iced coffees and teas, and a variety of candies. There are cute little cafe tables to sit at as well! Downside? Also, I didn't see all the toppings they had in the front when I went to pay, and I had been looking for some peanut butter toppings but at that point I figured I'd skip it. Insensitive, horrible owner!! I politely asked the owner if my Celiac daughter could please have gf topping from the back to avoid cross contact from the other buffet style toppings. She replied with a terrible attitude in front of my Celiac kids "If she is so sensitive how can you even eat out anywhere?"
