    Brisket Sandwich
    Jim C.

The food was hot and fresh. Great tasting BBQ sauce, but the $9.82 price tag on a large beef brisket sandwich left me still hungry. The meat portion was between 3-4 ounces... so I would hate to see the smaller option. Maybe it's just a bigger bun on the large. The meat didn't cover the bun as you can see from the flat sandwich photo that appears to have no meat inside. The brisket was thin shaved, like Arby's but not overly processed like theirs, but also not juicy and delicious like other BBQ joints. Maybe I'll try the pork next time.

We love Buddy's! The pulled pork is delicious, and they have excellent brisket and baked beans. Everything is reasonably priced and comes to you quickly and freshly prepared. Their hot fudge cake and hot fudge sundaes are so good that sometimes we just swing by for dessert! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that their customer service in the drive-thru is hit-and-miss because sometimes the cashiers seem flustered and stressed. Overall, Buddy's is a great place to go for barbecue and is definitely head and shoulders above other fast food options!

BBQ tends to blend together after a while, but theirs stood out, good flavor without being overpowering, something for everybody. I got the smoked turkey sandwich and the turkey was so tender and juicy I almost ordered a second one, even though the first was plenty filling. I'd be back here in a heartbeat if I'm ever down this direction again.

It's a bit more upscale and the bbq is delicious, there's a good variety of meat selections and sides, portion sizes are good and the prices are reasonable. Prices are competitive with festival food concession prices but coming here you get served and get to sit comfortably in air conditioning! The cocktails and wine are reasonable too. Glasses of house wines are $7. Most of the cocktails are $10. Pints of beer are $5. We've tried many of the meats and sides over our visits and found some of our favorites to be the peppered bacon, dry rub wings, brisket, pulled pork and the house salad. The peppered bacon comes with pickled jalapeños that work really well. The wings are meaty, smoky and crispy. The pulled pork includes crispy ends. So delicious. A house salad doesn't sound like much but the portion is generous. They provide a selection of bbq sauces and I like to blend the Stoney Creek Original with the slightly spicy Memphis sauces together. We've also had combo platters including brisket and burnt ends and those were spot-on too. Sides of beans, seasoned fries, sweet potato soufflé and Mac and cheese are good too. Of the dining spots in downtown Bristol, this is our spot. It's a bit more upscale of a dining experience, the food is quality is consistent, prices are reasonable and service is attentive.

My friends ordered a slice of the Key Lime Pie! Wow, I got a bite and it was delicious! We all highly recommend this place and definitely plan to return in the future! I love their pulled pork sandwich, chicken plates and their food has always been fresh and just delicious. In 27 years of going there I have NEVER had a menu pick that wasn't very tasty or poor service. I was a high school music teacher and corporate pilot for 20 years and know what bad food and poor service really are! In addition to their great food I love their Thursday night karaoke. As a pilot who has traveled the world I always tried to find the best karaoke bars in wherever I was spending the night. I've been to karaoke bars from Oslo, Norway to Athens, Greece. Hundreds! Looking for the best karaoke bars in town that also serve food. And what I found and come to the conclusion was that State Line, in GOOD OLD BRISTOL TENNESSEE, has the best KARAOKE shows along with the BEST FOOD that could be found around the world. My apologies for this long missive. I'm retired now, my rabbits foot had no more hair on it, and have an armful of grand babies to entertain!

My head is still throbbing. Advice to management = TURN the music down during dinner. Let it go as loud as possible after 9 pm.

Bristol is a rural town but certain areas are becoming more chic, such as this rooftop bar. I ordered a brown sugar old fashioned to start with. It was AMAZING. I would definitely recreate it at home, the flavors balance perfectly. For my entree, I had the chicken sandwich. The batter was perfectly crispy and seasoned well. I like that they use chicken thighs, which are juicy and makes for a delicious sandwich. Fries were okay, I wish they weren't steak fries. +Our server was friendly! It's a really great way to try the food! Food (5/5): Elevated bar food! The kitchen from the downstairs restaurant, Vivian's Table, makes the food and it is really delicious. We tried the popcorn shrimp, which are breaded and crispy. Really great. We of course, had to try the Mountain of fries - these are matchstick fries and the best part was the three different sauces that come with it. The chipotle ketchup was my favorite. We also tried the wings, which were good..I am not a huge wing fan, though. The jalapeno poppers (wrapped in bacon with a cheese filing) were great, as were the steak nachos. And of course, the hummus with the fry bread was great, too. My hubby liked the hazy IPA that was on draft. Even better at $3.50 a pint during Happy Hour. I really liked the cocktails - some of my favorite was a new espresso based tequila (for the summer menu) and the creamsicle. Service (5/5): Everyone up here is super nice - the manager Landry, bartender Raine and all the servers were really fantastic. Ambiance (5/5): Location - This is the top of the Bristol Hotel, and one of the only rooftop bars in Bristol. From the top you have a lovely view of the famous Bristol sign, great when it lights up at night.
