Ribs with Mac and cheese and slaw

Came recommended from a wedding venue for their catering. So we swung in tonight to do a little taste test. First the folks running this place are great! Ultra friendly and bonus for standing strong and closing on Sundays where their employees don't have to miss church. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork take your pick. However best bite of the night was bbq beans. Pork was a mild smoke, little less than I usually want, but good. Brisket was well seasoned with choice of tip or flat. Ribs were perfectly cooked where each bite came off the bone cleanly without completely falling off.

They only have ribs and brisket on Friday and Saturday. So, all 3 of us ordered the pulled pork platter. One looked like finely chopped pork, 2 looked like chunks of pork. Odd, but ok. The pork had a mediocre flavor, a bit dry. The sauces: nothing unique, and some watered down. We tried all 4 sides: beans, Mac n cheese, potato salad and coleslaw. Sadly, they all tasted like they were from a bulk can. The room temperature Country Time lemonade was ok once the ice was stirred around for awhile. The service was fast.

BBQ is one of those things that is very regional, and nothing says North East Tennessee like Bare Bones BBQ. Yet the food also contains the essence of other influences such as Georgia, the Carolinas and St. Louis. Anything you order is phenomenal and I believe that is due to the fact that almost everything is homemade in house and with a true love for the BBQ craft. The pulled pork melts in your mouth and the brisket can compete with the best Texas brisket out there. My daughter had the burger (which I tasted) and I couldn't believe the flavor. The sides were amazing to say the least, from the baked beans and baked potato salad to the homemade mac 'n cheese and green beans. There are even more side options available and I'm certain they are just as good, we were just to full to enjoy them. And I cannot forget the BBQ sauces, made in house from the owners recipes. I recommend the Dixie Heat, even though the meat truly doesn't need any sauces, they are just a bonus for the taste buds. To be more specific it not just the food, it's also the employees that represent and embody this region. The staff comprises of family and friends. I'm not saying they only hire family and friends, but that is what you become if you work for them. Owner Shannon Vaughn and wife Misty treat everyone, employee and customer, like family and long standing friends. It's like they welcome you into their home for a good family meal. They are very proud of what they do, and have plenty of BBQ competition awards displayed in the restaurant to backup the amazing food. As well, they put back into the community, feeding and contributing to first responders and military. This establishment represents Southern Hospitality and Class. I highly recommend dining with them and make sure to take your friends and family.

This cost 15.50 and dude put way too much ice in my drink.

Their prices are way to high here for the amount of food they give. The lady at the register didn't even tell me the price of the food until I paid and I told her I would've never bought that if I knew it would be so high

Best brisket I've ever had. I lived in TX for years and was never really a fan of brisket until we discovered this place. It's a must try.

But when we arrived, right after they opened on a Sunday morning, we were told that they only serve "what we refer to as 'brunch' on Sundays", and were handed paper menus with five items on it. Slightly confused, hoping we could still order off of their main menu, we waited for the waitress to return with our coffee (three Americanos and one latte). And we waited. And then we waited. And we waited some more. While we waited, three other parties came in, sat down, questioned the menu, then got up and left. Had it been just us that had that reaction to the abbreviated menu, I would have voted to woman up and just stay put. I didn't want to be "those tourists" who get all riled up about something local that doesn't fit their expectations. But once we (finally!) got our coffee and asked the waitress for clarification, we realized we had to go. The menu was the menu. Their sides - which are referenced on the menu but are never explained - were lackluster for the "base" and even less impressive for the "premium" options, which of course would have cost us even more money. That, paired with the uninspired and surprisingly one-note menu just drove us right out the door. My latte was at least delightful, but that's all I can say. Also, the place was likely very clean, because we were hit by a powerful smell of disinfectant and/or cleaner when we walked in. And finally, the waitress removed my menu after she saw me taking a picture of it. She didn't touch anybody else's menu, just mine.

Can't believe I'd never been here before, you get what you pay for! Be sure to fast at least 24…read morehours ahead of time if you order the "All In" omelette.
