Miscommunication as I was told I needed a new Furnace by one person at the company and another person at the company said I do not need a new furnace. Months later and I still don't have any solution for HVAC issues. They've been at my house multiple times, but have yet to provide any concrete information to fix. The suggestion was to add return registers, which "might" fix the problem. I consulted a different company who suggested I have factual data with a solution to my issues which Ward was not able to provide. After communicating sending a few emails and yet to hear back via phone they stated they are not interested in the job and have declined it. I requested a phone call to put a team around my project and never followed through by this company.

I called Almonte Heating and Cooling after SCG turned off my gas because of existing gas leaks…read more SCG could not determine where the leak was and said to call a plumber. Christian and Jonathan from Almonte called back and came out within a couple hours to complete an air test. It was determined there was a leak in the main line and in the lines going to the dryer, hot water heater, and stove. He sent me a proposal within an hour after leaving my house, on late Friday afternoon, on what the price would be to replace the existing pipes that were leaking. He was even so kind as to switch his schedule on Saturday to come to my house because there was no hot water. They came Saturday morning and were done within 4 hours. I was able to call and have SCG come back and turn on my gas on Saturday. I cannot begin to tell everyone what started as a nightmare turned out to be a Blessing because I found a great plumber!

I am so very upset to be writing this review; however, since no resolution was given to me, this is…read moremy only means seeking some type of retribution/justice. I first want to note that I have used this company for many years. And they were always so great! The owner and the servicemen. I have referred countless clients to them as well. Until recently, I had never had any issues at all. About 2 weeks ago I had a standard apt for them to come and clean my furnace. My apt window time was between 2-4. At 1:30 I left work so that I could be home in time for 2:00. At 1:35, as I was in the car, on the way home, someone called me and stated that they had to cancel the apt. I was upset because I had just left work. And the apt was in 25 minutes. I wished I had gotten a call sooner. But, I pushed on. I informed the girl that I would need to call back because now I needed to pick another day that I could leave work early. When I got home she called me again at 2:30. She explained that someone could come if I still wanted them to so I said of course! She said they would be there between 3-5 and she would call when they were on their way over. I said OK. At about 3:10-3:15 someone knocked on my door. It was the serviceman. I let him in and brought him downstairs. I showed him where everything was and the first thing he noticed was that one of my water holding tanks was right next to my oil tank in the basement which made for a tight fit for them to service it. Please note that a couple times this has been mentioned to me and several times I have asked my water specialist to move the tank over a bit. Besides it being a tight fit, no one from Cole Heating has ever said they could not service it. They just stated that it was a tight fit-which it is and I agree. However, this worker just looked at me and said "I can't deal with this on a Friday" and huff and puffed himself back out to his truck. I left and went upstairs. I knew based on that reaction and the fact that I think they sent him to my house late on a Friday (because my original person must have canceled) that he was just in a bad mood and basically did not want to deal with it. In about 30 minutes he was done and upstairs with the bill. I thought it was weird because they are usually there for about 1 hr. He informed me that I needed a new smoke pipe and a new ignition switch and that they would have to come back for all that-which was fine. I knew there was an issue (minus the standard cleaning that needed to be done). I paid him and he left. He seemed to be in a better mood since he was now on his way out:-) However when he left, I noticed two things on my bill 1) he did not clean the oil filter near the well water tank. He wrote a note that he could not reach it and 2) he stated that he was at my house for over an hr and that he arrived at 2:50, which was absolutely not true. So, overall my bill was $208. $165 was labor and the other $43 was tax and parts. What tax and parts you ask--well an air filter apparently. Because he did not clean the smoke pipe (because he is coming back to do that and repair it) and because the 'tight fit' prevented him from cleaning the filter near the oil tank, I am not really sure what I had done for $208! This is where my frustration and anger comes in. I mean this company is not cheap, but they have always been good, so I do not mind paying. BUT, I do mind paying when I feel the job was not well done. And that day it wasn't. I immediately called the owner before the serviceman had even gotten off my street. I explained everything I just wrote in this review. He seemed to care very much and assured me that he would speak to him on Monday and would call me back (on Monday) with a resolution and also a price for the two items I needed replacing. Needless to say, Saturday came and my check was cashed right away, but here I am-2 weeks later and not one phone call from anyone. I have since gone with another company who has been great and is much cheaper. If I had just gotten a phone call back, I would have never stopped being a customer. After being a loyal customer for years, I feel, at minumum, I deserved that.

I'd give these guys six stars, but it tops out at five…read more My central a/c unit was pumping hot air, so I called Cole. This was at 1:15 in the afternoon. I was told they could have somebody at my place sometime between 2:00 and 4:00. Doorbell rings at 2:20. I answered the door -- it was the Cole serviceman. 3:30, cold air's pumping through the vents and the serviceman explains to me very clearly what the issue was and what he did to resolve it. He also took a note of the model of a/c unit I have to shorten repair time if the need arises again. I absolutely love these guys.

Update: This company went from a great experience, to the worst experience. My secondary heat…read moresource went out during the winter and I called for a service checkup. After about 15 minutes of work I was told the condenser had to be replaced due to mice chewing the electrical wires. I could understand this. Here is where the issue comes in. The technician first said it would be $3400 to replace. He then went to his truck and came back to tell my wife it would actually be $8,000, but they added a discount so I would Pay $6,000. The total cost of the whole install (condenser unit + 4 wall units) was 12,000. So just to replace the condenser is over half the cost of the initial install. I called to complain and spoke with the service manager. The service manager essentially explained to me that this was accurate because if they did the install today it would be 23,000. So they evidently had a 100% price increase. I then explained the invoice showed the unit itself as 2,000 and then labor as 6,000. He explained to me that was untrue, that due to the new invoice system they have, they can just put numbers anywhere essentially, so I should ignore the invoice. I explained my frustration and how that does not make any sense and I am not paying 6,000 for a condenser and labor. He said he understood and would escalate it higher and I would get a call later that day or the next. It's going on 3 days now and I have not heard back. This company went from one of my top rated to near highway robbery. I cannot reccomend them to anyone at this point, and will need to look into alternatives to get my heat back in the winter.

Our house steam boiler in Hamden failed and we needed a new one. Our long time heating contractor…read morehad likely contributed to the boiler cracking by setting it incorrectly so I looked on Yelp and in addition to getting a quote from our current serviceman, asked several others for quotes. Ray quickly responded and not only offered a better price; but seemed to be very knowledgeable about our system. He came to our house and was able to get the old unit working temporarily at no charge and further impressed us with his knowledge. I felt we could trust him and ordered a new boiler from him and also a new gas hot water heater as it was near the end of its life. We put a deposit on the parts and when they arrived he and an assistant installed them. Their assembly work was excellent, he skillfully adjusted the new units and all is now working better than ever. We will use him going forward and highly reccomend him. TR

Steve and his company installed our mini-splits in my house over a year ago in December/January…read more24/25. We paid $20,000 for two units. They worked fabulously for the first 8 months- we live in a Cape Cod built in the 50s with no heating devices upstairs. The bedrooms were warm and cozy in the winter, and cool in the summer. And they were so quiet! However, since installation, Ash has been flaking and ghosting me on appointments! So the background is that our mini-splits started pumping out cold air in mid-November '25. So I called for a service request, they came out, fixed it, and it only worked for a few days. I called for another service request a few weeks before Christmas, and I was told that someone would be at my house on a Friday - and no one came out, or called me to let me know they weren't. The next day I called, and they said they would come out that day [Saturday]. Their van broke down and they weren't able to come out, so Steve said he would come to my house the following day. He basically ghosted me all day until 6pm; he was out of state, and he nonchalantly replies "I was going to [come out to you] but the boiler [at my in-laws' house] had other plans for me lol." So he tells me that he would be at my house the next day, and he was and he did temporarily fix the mini-splits. He also told me that he would text me every day for a couple of weeks to make sure it was still working - and he didn't. The mini-splits broke down again. So one of his techs comes out to service it, it doesn't get fixed, and they said they "made an appointment" for April 1st. April 1st comes by, and no one has called or texted me about my service appointment. I tried to be nice and patient and give them a little time, so I wait until April 7th to text Steve, and I get ghosted again. So I call the business last week. He sounded like he understood my frustration, and said after he hung up with me, that he'll text me an appointment date. He doesn't. So I call the next day, and then he tells me we would have an appointment today on the 21st at 930 - and he doesn't show, and he ghosts me through text, and when I call the business, I get an AI voice mail instead of speaking to an actual person. So I now I have $20,000 mini splits in my house that don't work and I need to find a new HVAC company. It takes a lot for me to even leave a 1 star review, let alone a 1 star and an actual written review. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt over and over again, but since they're ignoring me, I don't really have any other choice.
