Joseph Hussein was very unproffesional. We rented a 7 passenger vehicle, we were given a 6 passenger vechicle instead, he said there is nothing he can do for us, he told me to drive my own vexhicle. Vehicle was not clean, they never explained anything about the car or walked us around the car. When we returned the car we told Jospeph we weren't happy with this service and his response was GOOD, I am glad! Joseph proceeded tonget loud with us and told us if we didn't like it we should do something about it. We asked him to stop.with his attitude and he said Hit Me, I am Joseph and I am trained to defend myself. Thus guy is a Joke and so unprofessional. Counter person was unbelievably rude. Arrived late (with notice) for a credit card guaranteed reservation and the counter person said "I rented your car to someone, I don't do lates, I need the money" he went on to say that "nothing is guaranteed" so if he moves our reservation to the next day the same thing might happen. it is all a game of chance. I reserved a truck over a month in advanced to when I would need it. Two days before I would be picking up the truck they call to say they will be unable to provide the truck. Being reasonable, I agreed to downgrade to a smaller truck. They responded saying that they had no truck in the Chicagoland area! A Truck company without Trucks! They offered for me to pick up a truck in Chicago, still smaller, and drive it to my work zone. Still trying to be reasonable I said I would do so if I could be compensated for the miles and gas used moving it from Chicago to my work zone. Since it put me very far away from my original location. They disagreed saying it was not their problem and canceled the reservation. This company apparently doesn't have trucks or respect for their customers. Use a different company if you want reliability in your reservations. read more

This place sucks. Young clerk is rude ignorant and unprofessional. Claims hes been there for 4 months which means he has had enough time to be more knowledgeable about products and great customer service. I rented a standard vehicle from Avis/Budget Addison, Il. I arrived at least 20 min early. Id chosen this location because its located approximately 5 min from my home. Upon arrival there I noticed only 2 rental cars on lot. Forgive me for assuming that one was reserved for me considering id prepaid online. Little did I know it was not. 1w min past the scheduled time for my pickuo i was allowed to approach tbe counter where I was then told, I dont have a car for you we have a van." I let clerk know that regarding gas mileage that was nothing I wanted to gas up for an 850 mile roundtrip to Columbia Mo. where I was scheduled to speak at 7pm that evening. This is about a 5.5 to 6 hr drive so id like to leave no later than 1pm. The rude clerk offered to cancel my reservation but when i asked if hed reimburse me for my time and uber fare he declined. He shared with me that only car left after he gave car to a walk in was this huge gas guzzling van. I walked out to the can and called the toll free customer service who told me to find another avis/budget location. After caling around to 4 locations within 20 mile radius I was told Ohare Airport would be nearest location I arrived at Ohare airport location only to fine a line in excess of 8 people and only 1 clerk working. By the time i was given the key to the replacement vehicle it was approximately 1:29 pm. Mind you I still have to return to Addison to load vehicle. This put me behind a few hours which also caused me to miss my scheduled event. As a result of darkness coming upon us, I pulled over to a Motel 6 in Maryland Heights Mo for the night and decided to reschedule fundraiser the following Mondau evening which would require me to extend rental car an additional day. Well the vehicle was burglarized and all of the items for my non profit organization where stolen from tbe trunk. After having to miss church service that morning due to time taken to contact law enforcement file report and wait on officers to run surveillance video back i had to return to Avis at St louis lambert airport to exchange vehicle and complete paperwork. The clerk who helped me here as well as other staff where sympathetic to my inconvenience. I began my trip to Columbia Mo only to find the vehicle was pulling to the side and It needed a wheel alignment. The clerk at the Columbia Mo location also had no vehicles available. I had to risk my safety and drive 125 miles using extreme caution in order to exchange the 3rd vehicle out now for the 4th vehicle that would now get me home. Overall i spent 5.5 hours at various Avis locations for a 3 day rental. I lost over $800 of toys clothing and car seats etc for families I sponsor. I list several thousand dollars in donations as many donors could not stay past Sunday evening for rescheduled meeting. In addition I returned car last Tuesday and Avis continues to hold my $100 deposit. I was told this morning that my money will be refunded by next Tuesday. Two weeks after car was returned. I advise you guys to avoid doing business with any and all avis/budget their policies and the mistreatment of the consumers is horrible!! read more

This is how my minivan looked when I picked it up from AVIS/BUDGET on Rowling Road in Addison Illinois. Disgusting. I would have brought it right back but I was in a time crunch . Took me almost 2 hours to clean it out. Do NOT rent from this guy. After I showed him the pics, he gave me $20 off. So disappointing. read more

Beware. I believe the guy's name is Tony. He has an accent. Not only is he rude and unprofessional, he will rob you. He put the highest unnecessary insurance. He bait and switched me and then said To bad so sad. Stay away from this place. You're better off going to Menards or Uhaul. Whenever using Budget, just do it online, this way you know what you're paying. I was I the store and he cussed out a guest. That should've been my warning sign. read more

Had a truck rental confirmed by email. Lined up my helpers for the day, went to pick up the truck and the man says he cancelled my reservation. There were three trucks the same size as the one I reserved on the side of the building. After leaving and going to a couple other competitors, I was informed this was common practice at this location. I was told by multiple people in the business that he would book multiple reservations for the same truck and rent it to the one where he makes the most commission. He's been doing this for some time, too as the people I talked to say it's a common story they hear. Now I'm without a truck, I have to get out of my rental and this is the only day I have help. Completely screwed me. Something has to be done about this. My next step is calling corporate. read more

Do not rent from here!!! Worst experience ever. Had truck booked at st.charles location over a month in advance, they called the day before and told me truck would not be available... Why make a reservation? Anyway, they sent me to this location, at least 15 miles down the road to get the truck. Would not let me return the truck to the original location I made the reservation at either. So the foreign guy gives me a credit of 25 miles.... doesn't even cover the extra distance I had to drive to pick up/drop off truck. During all this when I complained he told me he "did me a favor by taking the reservation last minute". So there's that. Then handing me the keys he says "I had to take a small deposit of $760, your fee will be taken off of that and the rest credited". Now I'm not big on people that hold my money without telling me, he never said a word about this deposit until I was literally walking out the door. The truck was horrible, needed shocks in a bad way and the steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle so I felt like I was turning hard right the whole time, and the A/C blew 105 degree air on the 90 degree days we moved. Fast forward 3 days. I return the truck, guy charges me double the daily rate that I had originally reserved. When I call him out on it he says, "nothing I can do here, you will have to call this number and get refunded the difference". So I'm on the phone with customer service and they offer to credit me $60 for the $170 difference on the rental rate.... plus, the guy charged me mileage on miles I should never have even had to drive the truck, and he forced me to take the insurance on top of that. So finally I get customer service to give me the difference of the rental, $170. I'm still out the other $150 I was charged for insurance I didn't want and mileage I shouldn't have had to pay for. I don't ever write reviews but while I was on the phone with customer service I decided this was a good time to start writing reviews. This has been the worst experience in renting anything I've ever had. I will never again even consider renting through this ridiculous company, and I hope more people don't fall victim to the foreign guy or this shady company. They will rob you blind. I can't imagine how many people just take it and don't ever try to fight back, they are making huge money for nothing. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION OR THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

If I could have given less than a 1 star rating, then I certainly would have for this specific location. While I have dealt with Budget many times in the past without any incident or issues, this was the first time visiting this Addison, IL location and it proved to be the exception. I had rented a one-way truck to handle my son's college move out and paid the trip in full at origin at the negotiated rate. When I arrived to drop off the truck in Addison, IL, I was informed by Joseph E. that I had additional charges of $100+ due. I questioned the charge and provided all of the paperwork. Joseph immediately advised me that the charge was for returning a day late. With the papers in his hand, I pointed out I was actually one day early and not late. He then advised me that the balance due was because my credit card was not charged in full at origin, even though my receipt indicated otherwise. He assured me that my credit statement would add up to the full negotiated amount for the rental and to not worry. So, I gave him my credit card and he charged the additional amount due. While waiting for my wife to pickup me up, I checked my credit card balance in their parking lot and confirmed that I was indeed charged for the full amount at origin. I went back into the store to show him. Joseph told me to call customer service at the toll free number and that there was nothing he could do, as he was going by the computer system. He refused to assist me in any way including calling Budget internally to help resolve this overcharge. All while on front of him, I telephoned my credit card company for the additional charge to start a dispute claim. As I was leaving, I suggested that he not misinform future customers about charges. This set him off and things got heated quickly. He began calling me paranoid and that I was in need of seeing a psychologist and psychiatrist. When I could get a word in, I told him that paranoia is not based in reality and he actually did misinform me about the charges, when I had clearly already paid for this rental in full. Facts based in reality do not equate to paranoia. Needless to say, this did not sit well with him and he started shouting and kept repeating that I was being paranoid. I could not contain myself and did end up calling him a liar and a thief for charging me the extra monies. That is the point when things got became very odd and uncomfortable. He came around from behind his counter to the front and continued verbally abusing me as I walked up to the front door to leave. He followed me to the front door. While he did not make any specific verbal threats to me, his actions and demeanor were both confrontational and threatening in nature. Once I felt safe outside, I told him that I would be calling Budget corporate to report this, but that did not phase him, as the verbal assault continued all the while I got into my car and left the place. I am not usually one to leave reviews good or bad, but this event was so egregious to me, that I wanted to warn others and specifically joined Yelp to do so. By the way, the extra charge was an error that Budget customer service resolved, as soon as, they reviewed the file. If Joseph just took just a moment to actually read my receipts and his system properly, then he would have found that no additional charges were due. So, in retrospect, Joseph was acting incompetent and lazy - not a liar. For this, I do apologize calling him a lair. Please be careful if any of you end up being served by him, as he can become unhinged and threatening very quickly. read more

Awful. I ordered a midsize SUV to take 5 girls down to Nashville and was given a compact SUV Subaru cross trek. There was zero trunk space and when I asked to upgrade or be paired with a different car I recieved no help. Horrible customer service. When I went to drop the car off at my scheduled time, the owner was 15 mins late and I was left waiting outside, along with 3 other customers. Will not be returning. read more

I travel a ton for work and rent cars every few days. This was by far the WORST rental experience I have ever had. I called to pick up the car an hour early and was told it would be an extra $200 to do so, they explained it was because I was adding an extra day, when I was already paying for 9, yet only having the car for 8.5. I was on the phone with this branch and customer service for over 2 hours to get it worked out. THEN when I returned the car, (and I have pictures), I was told the car was "excessively dirty" (grass, fuzz and some hair on the ground) and I was going to have the clean the car myself. The manager of the location, Suran, could not show me anywhere in writing where is explained what excessivly dirty was. He did show me the sign saying there was a cleaning fee for smoking though. When i talked to customer service about this, they said, if the car is dirty on the outside too, they can tell us to go clean it ourselves. The car rental was cheaper than others-but I paid for the frustration and the HORRIBLE customer service experience I had there. read more
