Called them to check out our dishwasher that has had a pool of disgusting water sitting inside since we moved in last July. One of the repairmen came out and got right to work, down and dirty. Literally, stuck his bare, unprotected hands all up in that swamp water. 30 minutes and $40 later he explained the drain line was too low and the bracket was detached. But, we are good to go and cleaning the S out of the dishwasher. It's operable, he did the damn thing and we are happy customers. This is as straightforward as they come. When my Samsung front-loading washing machine developed a problem draining that I couldn't fix myself, I contacted Budget Repair via their website to describe the problem. They called me the next morning and told me they would by by later that day between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. John arrived promptly at 1:00 and quickly diagnosed the problem: some sort of obstruction in the internal piping. He quoted me a very fair estimate and got to work. Inside a small plastic elbow outside the pump, he found 2 very dark 25 cent pieces that had firmly wedged themselves inside causing the entire drain system to gradually back up until it could no longer function. He encountered some difficulty getting the hoses re-attached under the tub because of the tight space and most likely spent more time than he planned on. I was pleasantly impressed when he stuck to the original quote and also accepted my charge card for payment. John was friendly, knowledgeable, and completed the job in a workman-like manner. I will certainly be calling them again for my next repair job and I highly recommend this company. My washer now works again as new and they also give a 30-day warranty on their work. Tried to call for appliance repair - was told by a very mumbling, unclear and inaudible young man - "We can be there between 3pm and 5pm tomorrow" and I said "sure, can we err on the side of 4:30 or 5pm since I work full time? Then the guy said, "Ok, 9 am Saturday," and in the background I heard "I'm not going to go there at 9:00 am Saturday," so the guy on the phone gives me a window of between 10 and 12 Saturday. I said, "I'm so sorry, I need to be to Roseville/Rocklin by 11am on Saturday." Response, "well those are all the times we have available." My response, "So you don't want our business?" Beware - Service was a joke. 16 month old GE Refrigerator. Fan no longer operational in the refrigerator portion. Called these guys out to troubleshoot. I've never seen a troubleshoot of an electrical system without actually pulling out a meter. Regardless, they spent 10-15 minutes telling me that the fan and thermistor could not be replaced by themselves and my only option was $850 to replace everything on the back of the fridge because it "ONLY COMES AS A KIT, THERE IS NO INDIVIDUAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS REFRIGERATOR." Seemed a bit high. They collected their $35 troubleshooting fee. Wonders of wonders.....I called the appliance parts store. Gave them the model number and the $60 fan is available. The $16 Thermistor is available. Boom problem solved. So this leaves me with a couple of options: 1. Either these guys don't have the skills to troubleshoot a refrigerator, so they just "shotgun" it and replace everything at the customers expense. 2. They saw a chump and figured they would pull an $850 Repair Bill for $76 worth of parts. Regardless, they will not get our business, and realistically if they had any honor they would refund their $35 they collected on the front end of their $850 scam. Called them after no one, NO ONE in Benicia returned my calls except someone to tell me that they don't work on LG's .... What????? I had an LG front loading washer that stopped draining right after the warranty ran out. Called Budget and made an appointment for the next day between 12-2pm. John (the son) showed up with his mom. (She holds the tools and runs back and forth to the van--so cute!) Anyway, he found the problem and forewarned me that LG parts are very expensive. Sure enough the part I needed was over $800.00 so not worth fixing! I asked him for advice on which brand I should get in a used washer. He told me Whirlpool or GE and NOTHING front loading as they just don't get the clothes clean. Just for kicks I had him also look at my LG refrigerator that stopped making ice (also right after it's warranty ended) $400.00 for that part! We'll just stick with the old fashioned ice trays, thank you. So he didn't end up fixing anything but came out for free and was very helpful and friendly. I took his advice and found a used top-loading whirlpool for 200. I found a place that delivered and hooked it up and took away the LG (Luxurious Garbage). He said he'd have to come back since the part was at the warehouse. On his way out, I told him my necklace was stuck in the washing machine agitator. We have used Budget Appliance for years. We have recommended them to multiple people because they come out promptly and fix the problem for a reasonable price. We have had a big disappointment with Budget Appliance recently. Our dishwasher needed fixing. John came out briefly and said a part was needed. He said he would get back to us. I have a dentist that does the same. More contractors should recognize that they are not office workers. Take Tuesday and Wednesday off, not Saturday and Sunday. To get a better sense of customer's reactions, sort yelp reviews by 'newest first' or 'lowest rating'. John got the job done, but he didn't (or wouldn't explain) why our dryer stopped working. He didn't ensure there was 220V to the dryer. When I asked what went wrong, he didn't answer, he simply put up a piece of burnt wire (with his back to me). The son in this pair is a true appliance whisperer. The stove....fixed with just a poke or two.... My old GE washing machine was off kilter and I swear was constantly spinning out of control if you put in 3 too many socks and about to tip over...and the tub almost flew out of the washing machine once. Well while looking around I saw these people Budget Appliance Repair and with 4/5 stars with 60 reviews and I decided to call them up. John, was nice and respectful, really appreciated it. He came over and diagnosed the problem quickly by sticking his hand in the washing machine after letting it run for a bit and told me that the dogs were broken and that the suspension rods were close to breaking, which explained why the tub acting erratically. He even gave the general and fairly cheap price on the spot and I accepted. So same day he called me and told me the parts were already in stock at some place and that he could be back to my place within the hour and I accepted that. Low and behold he was here in about 20 minutes and fixed it in around 20 minutes, almost no time at all, it was amazing! We ran another load of clothes and it worked good as new it was impressive! Our french door refrigerator was leaking water and ice was building up on the bottom of the freezer. After reading some reviews we called Budget Appliance to come take a look at it. They arrived in a little over an hour and got right to work. Turns out the freezer drain was clogged. A common problem I understand. If you've ever had limited money to spend, but were willing to spend money to fix your problem.... if half-assed answers annoy you...if you've ever been stood up by "local" repair companies that don't show up, only to transfer you to their switchboard who tell you "it's not my fault, but while you were waiting all afternoon for us to show up, the secretary didn't put in your work order...can we reschedule you? These guys actually show up, fix your problem at a reasonable price, are friendly, genuine, polite, and professional, and don't jerk you around or look for upsells. We had a failing refrigerator, and a basic idea (based on our research) that it was fixable (not that we could fix it). These guys showed up, fixed the problem, made their money (everyone is entitled to a fair price for their expertise), and the $175 we spent is a lot less than dealing with a company who can't keep their appointments straight, or who has an agenda of selling refurbished refrigerators. If you value honesty, integrity, and quality, these guys should be your first (and probably only) call for any appliance repair. read more

Washer would not enter spin cycle. Larry's son replaced the circuit board but the problem persisted. Larry came out and replaced the circuit board with a second board, and then again with a third board, and then gave up, saying he had no idea what else the problem could be. I Paid over $300 for this bogus repair job. Finally gave up on Larry and called GE Service who replaced the pressure switch. Works perfectly now. I'm still waiting for the refund that Larry promised under his so-called satisfaction warranty. A word to the wise. Stay away from Budget Appliance Repair, and don't trust his warranty. read more

I am extremely satisfied with the service I've received from this company. I called for my dryer that wouldn't heat and was given an estimated price of $170 to fix over the phone. Once they came out for the estimate/diagnosis which they were on time for, arriving during their quoted 2 hour window, it was determined I had a shorted wire and I ended up paying less than half of the quoted price. Upon their investigation, it turned out that my fridge was leaking from the evaporator. It was a repair which seems pretty difficult and I needed a repair soon. Since their main repair guy was out of town, they referred me to another company which can hopefully fix my fridge soon. He said it would cost me around $200 but I should just buy a new one ($600+) and I had to argue with him that id rather not buy a whole new one when that one is practically new. I am very impressed with these gentlemen. The belt broke on my 5 year old HE dryer and they discovered that the wheel it loops around was worn as well. The part had to be ordered but the time line was still very efficient. Had an emergency repair that Tenant needed taken care of right away. I contacted above & yes they responded quickly. Work took over a week to take care of though. Yes part was not available @ the time & it needed to be ordered. When repair finally made I paid only to find out this person doesn't provide receipts for his work done. If it's even properly repaired as there is no record of it being done to begin with! Only thing I have now is one check carbon copy & my credit card record to prove that work was done.
