People.. do not go to this location. They're overly charged for a Freon. I came in for a diagnostic code B1239 on Odyssey 2014. James can't fix the main issue which is the air door actuator. Instead, he wanted to replace the a/c compressor. Stay away from this shop. Manager and technician are crooks. read more

When I first arrived and pull into the lot, I found that there was only one parking space left. They must have a lot of business! I walked inside and there was a comfortable enough waiting room between a couple receptionist spaces. There was also a window that allowed people to see into the shop where they were doing their work. As should probably be expected, there were fumes in the air from the paint. They had three vehicles in the shop. One was an old pick up truck that someone had fixed up and it was getting a brand new paint job with some 70's-type yellow, red, and blue striping on the side. It looked very nice. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and after waiting for a moment, the guy asked me what I needed. I let him know that I had called ahead and requested that they look at my RAV4 Hybrid. I wanted him to either give me an estimate or tell me if it's something that they could just do right then... (Previously, I had tried calling three different MAACO's, and each MAACO didn't have an adjuster available... I don't know why they needed an adjuster. However, they said that their adjusters do their estimates.) Here, the guy said, let's go out and take a look at the vehicle to see what it looks like. I took him out to my RAV4 and showed him the area that I was inquiring about. I told him upfront: "Normally, I wouldn't be getting this kind of minor damage repaired. However, another car had hit me, so insurance said that they would pay for it if it needs to be done." Other places had told me over the phone, based on my description, it could be a scratch deep into the paint or that it might be a light scratch, and either way the whole door would have to be repainted. My thoughts were that it was just a scuff that could be buffed out with some form of polish. I'm not very familiar with polishing cars. I don't... I have never... I mean I'm not a car aficionado. I've never polished a car in my life. He looked at the minor damage, and he confirmed what I was thinking: it's something that needs to be buffed out with some polish. He said this would not require really heavy polishing, "You just need a fine polish." He also said that his shop does not do that kind of thing unless they're doing some other job and that can be done along with it. So, I did not get the work done here and I can't really talk or speak to the quality of their actual work aside from what I saw in the shop. It did look good, but I didn't see the starting canvas... All I could see was the finished product. However, I was happy with the fact that he was willing to take the time to look and give me advice on what to do. He also mentioned that (after I asked if he had any recommendations for someone that could do the work, that he didn't know anyone that actually did such minor policy work. So, if you have a minor scuff of this kind (you can look at my pictures) you should be looking for some polish to do it yourself. He also gave me an estimate on the hood... I have several rock chips on the hood and I do have a paint pen from my dealership that matches the paint, so I can touch it up. However, it still doesn't look very good in the end. So, eventually, I will probably be getting the hood painted. He told me that if a hood gets painted, on its own, it's around $600. However, he said it's difficult because it has to be matched to the paint on either side of the hood- and in my case: the paint is a unique color, so it would be even more difficult to blend or match the paint. In the end, the guy was helpful, courteous, and willing to give ballparks (I've asked other people for ballpark estimates before, and most people don't care to give you a ballpark anymore - I really don't know what that's about). Note: The first question he had, for me was whether or not my vehicle was a fleet vehicle. So, I would assume that they do fleet jobs. All in all, I would recommend this business simply because it seems like working with the staff here would be really easy and would not grate on your nerves like I've seen with (kind of a lot of) other people at lot of other businesses. Got quoted over 3000 dollars for this scratch on my Hyundai Elantra on 7/31. Looking at the quote they tried to quote me for so much unnecessary work that ended up being over two pages long. I knew immediately it was a scam and these guys aren't trustworthy at all. Ultimately went through insurance and got a approved GEICO body shop to look at my car and they quoted me 650 bucks for the same scratch. Got it fixed from them and glad I didn't go to these scammers at budget auto painting. read more

I went to Budget Auto Painting strictly based on the reviews here. Since a number of folks talked about James, I specifically asked for him. He was friendly, amusing and very accommodating. I mentioned my job was pretty small and wanted to pay out of pocket. I didn't want this to be the one that insurance forgives. I said I would work with his schedule because I asked if it was possible to sit and wait for the job to be completed. I didn't want to add a rental car to the out-of-pocket cost. Not only did he fix the original issue I went in the shop to have repaired, but he said he could take care of the light marks that were left from a barrier in a gated community along the driver's side from door to roof. I was very pleased with the completed job. It's true what they say that everyone there is friendly. I highly recommend them. read more

It took 6 months for them to respray my car and $6000. Easy project. Not even a dent on it. 3 times James told me the car was ready. Every time I went to get the car I could see that they had forgotten things. The last time I picked it up it had new scratches on the sun roof. Took two more months to supposedly get the gasket which they lied about changing it still is the old one. They didn't even repaint the whole car like promise lots of overspray over the gaskets and new scratches in places. Do not go there. We can see how tiny scratches are still there. Around the door handles and the roof in addition to the bad touch up I had done on the side of the mirrors. In addition to the bad paint job they removed the windows and they weren't going back up properly. I had to take the car to my Porsche mechanic and spend an other thousand dollars to get that fixed. read more

OUR ANGELS! Our car was broken into while we were visiting Atlanta. With the rear window smashed and Safelite not having any openings to come and fix it, we were desperate to get some help to at least cover the back to be able to get back. Budget Auto was closest to us so we went there. The two gentlemen at the store not only helped clean the trunk of our car of all the shattered glass but also temporarily fixed the window so we could get back home in safety. They were so kind to us and DIDNT CHARGE US A PENNY! We are so overwhelmed! After a horrible incident we saw another side of Atlanta that made us grateful to these two kind, helpful gentlemen that were like angels to us. Thank you Budget Auto Painting. I got a quote with James Emerson of Budget Auto Painting for a two panel repair on a Friday. I dropped my car off late the following Monday, and received a call on Thursday to come pick it up. I can't visually spot the repair at all, and can only confirm the panels were ever damaged by playing with a magnet to see where the Bondo is. The reasons for this five star review include: * The quote wasn't the cheapest I received, but it was within about 10%. * James was willing to indulge my curiosity, even about things not really related to getting the work done (e.g. about how the tools they use work). (Incidentally, this is why I went with Budget, despite not being the cheapest quote.) * The repair was complete within the estimated time frame * The final bill was equal to the original estimate * The repairs seems to be high quality This was the first time I needed a professional car repair, and it was relatively painless. I hope never to need one again, but if I do I'll return here first. edit - It also may be worth mentioning that I was happy enough with this work that I logged into my Yelp account for the first time in five years, according to the notifications I'm seeing. read more

The original estimate I was given for painting my Jeep was 2 weeks. Took almost 4 months with me pestering them every week and threatening legal action. Further, the roll bar was apparently not included in the paint job. During the work, they lost my radio antenna and hood rod clip. Told me they ordered replacements. Several weeks went by and the antenna and clip hadn't yet arrived. A few more weeks went by and Budget told me those parts were discontinued. Huh? Than how were they ordered? I went online and found a replacement antenna and latch in 5 minutes. read more

I came in with a new bumper that I wanted painted. No installation necessary. James quoted me $400 bucks for the bumper going by book value with line item breakdowns. While I was at it, I wanted my side mirror cover painted as well because the clear coat had failed. James manually entered a price of $200 dollars for the mirror cover. I thought it was odd because there was no line item breakdown for the mirror cover. I figured it would come out to be less once he actually did the work and figured out how long it would take and the cost of the materials etc... I came in to pick up my parts today and expressed my concern over the price of the mirror cover and asked for a line item breakdown. He could not produce one because I guess he just made up a number on the spot during the initial quote. I can't help the feeling that I got ripped off for it. He also told me that he dropped my bumper while painting it, and it is noticeable once you look for it. He also only returned one painted tow hook cover when I should have received two - the original one from my current bumper and the new painted one that came with the new bumper. The one I received back looks like my original cover because it has noticeable imperfections in it. I even left a message saying not to lose it. Overall, the staff are nice and friendly. They work fast and if not for some less than optimal pricing and work done, It would have been 5 a five star review. read more

I was in a car accident on 11-3-15. My 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid was towed to Budget Auto Painting, and because of the awesome reviews and the tow truck driver telling me they were a Toyota body shop, we decided to have them do the repairs. We gave our consent on 11-6-15 for them to begin repairing the car. WORST. MISTAKE. EVER. We were initially quoted a two-week turnaround time, which turned into 7 weeks before we got the car back, still unfinished. The wheel well had not come in yet, the weather stripping along the hood was ripped, the AC didn't work, and one of the back seat belts was jammed and would not come out for use. I took it back a week later to have the wheel well installed, since the part finally arrived, and to have the AC recharged and the back seat belt fixed (apparently it was jammed when the headliner was replaced). I was told all this would take no longer than 20-30 minutes, so I did it on my hour lunch break. It took them an hour and 15 minutes to get my car back to me, and that was after I had to ask someone to go find it. Luckily, insurance covered all our repairs, but if you're paying out of pocket, be wary. Our initial quote was $4300, but by the time all was said and done, it was $8800, twice the amount originally quoted. I am completely aware that car repair is tricky and you can't always see the damage until you have everything out of the car. My issue is we were initially told we would get the car back on 11-20, then it was pushed to 11-27, then 12-4, etc. I had to go down there on 12-11 to speak with the customer service rep and find out why we were constantly pushed to the next week. Why didn't they do the assessment first to find all the broken and busted parts, THEN come to us with an estimated completion date? I would have been much more satisfied if they had initially told us it would take 4-6 weeks to fix the car, then to LIE to us and say, "It'll be ready in two weeks. Oops, we found more wrong with it, it'll be another week. Oops, we found something ELSE wrong with it, it'll be another week." So, please don't expect your car back in the time they quote you. You can't even double it, you have to TRIPLE the estimated time and DOUBLE the cost. If time and money are not a problem for you, then please use them. Once the work was completed properly, it looks and feels great. But the customer service needs a lot more work than my car did. read more

Not only did he take care of my very shaken up daughter (and me) but he paid out the tow truck, made arrangements for rental cars and also had Adam take us to the rental agency and make sure everything was ready for us there. This place is great. I came to this place yesterday morning after 2 repair shops' failed attempt to fix the broken tail light assembly of my Venza. A very pleasant man (I forgot his name- I'm really sorry) greeted me and asked how he can help. I showed him the failed work of the 2 previous shops. He told me it was an easy fix and would not cost me much. I waited for 12 minutes the most and he came back with my Car's tail light fixed. He did not charge me a dime. Wow! I am totally surprised.
