A swarm of bees thought they'd make our home theirs & started building a hive under our eaves. Apparently the rains we had have given bees plenty of hive-building energy & materials. Called several safe bee removal companies & found Ron, at Budget Bee Services. Great work, fair price, straight-shooting, nice as heck, local (Northridge area) family guy. Great experience! Talked to three other companies- one demanded a deposit in order to come out & look at the issue, another couldn't do the job for two-weeks saying by then a hive would have formed and it would be triple to cost. Tuesday evening we saw a swarm of bees hovering around the door to our garden shed as well as clustered near the ground at the foundation. Within an hour that cluster had gone away we thought. Turns out they'd taken up camp under the shed. Wednesday morning I called Budget Bee Service and spoke with Ron. After explaining what we had I asked what type of approach his company took with bee removal. I didn't want to exterminate the bees. Ron explained the assessment techniques and tools used to determine the size and scope of the process. I asked Ron for a best case/worse case cost scenario having no idea what removal might entail cost wise. Ron gave me that range then set up an appointment for 10:00 am for his technician to give me a free assessment. Isaiah gave me a courtesy call 30 minutes prior and arrived right on time at 10:00 am. Using an infrared camera and his visual observations Isaiah determined the bees had not yet built a hive and as such would be able to flush them out using a non-toxic repellant then seal the access hole to prevent re-entry. He advised staying clear of the area the rest of the day to allow the bees to move on. The next morning we realized the group had reformed on the wall above that original access hole. After communicating with Ron via text he sent Isaiah out again and he literally vacuumed up the gathered cluster to be taken to a beekeeper for release. Well done Budget Bee Removal!! I highly recommend this service to anyone with a bee problem. This is an honest guy who could've easily taken advantage of making a quick buck off of someone who didn't know anything about bees. I got a quick response from Ron who asked a few questions and made an appointment to show up immediately. He showed up for an inspection and to give a FREE estimate, took his time and walked the property, and then he told us we don't have a hive at all! The bees are Just using our pool to drink. He the. Gave us a home made recipe to spray at night when they are gone which will make them hate to be where they hang out. We paid him a little something for coming out but he never charged us a penny...we did it because WE wanted to pay for his gas and time. Thank you Ron. Highly recommended! We discovered Bees collecting outside our second floor near an attic vent. Made a few calls for quotes and Budget Bees got back to me right away. They set up a free inspection the next day and then had someone come out the day after that to do the removal. They were the only ones to offer to come out for free to inspection. Others I talked to asked a few questions and then gave us a quote. One involved spraying an eco safe oil that would drive them out, they were not concerned that we might have already had a honeycomb built. Budget Bees technician Isaac came out did the inspection on the second story and then explained how they would remove and repair so that all the bees are taken away. They remove the honeycomb, making sure to capture the Queen so the rest follow and won't come back. We ended up with honeycombs in two locations. He had to cut open our roof and then not satisfied by the size of the honeycomb with the amount of bees we had, kept checking the area to find a second that held the Queen. The second hole was thru the boards on the front of our house. Isaac did an amazing job. He was very knowledgeable. He explained everything in detailed and answered all of our questions. You can hardly see the areas where he cut into our roof and siding. All costs were included in the amount they quoted us - opening up the roof and walls, removal, repair and some preventative measures. No hidden or unexpected costs. Isaac made sure to explain after the Queen was removed any bees that were away will return and linger trying to get back in for up to 10 days. If we had any bees still linger after that to call and they would come out to handle the rest no additional costs. I contacted 5 company's - Budget Bees responded quickly, offered a free inspection and scheduled a removal right away. They were priced slightly higher then the other 3 quotes I managed to get but I believe it was a fair price. The other company's quotes over the phone, and their prices were variable depending on what was found. And, this took place during the Covid-19 stay at home order. Isaac was very mindful of social distancing and wearing a mask. He stated he would not enter our house it would all be handled externally. read more

A great bee service that I highly recommend! I manage a commercial property and we recently had a bee hive develop under one of the bushes outside our entry door. I had a bee hive in my garage wall. They had entered from a small exterior hole and had started a hive in the wall. I called Budget Bee and they gave me a reasonable quote for removing the bees (not exterminating them). They give the bees to local bee keepers. James came out that same day within the two-hour given window, and he called ahead when he was on his way. He was very polite and knowledgeable. In less than two hours, he had removed the bees, cleaned the area (to prevent future bees from being attracted to it), and repaired the hole in the wall that had been used to reach the bees. Not only did Ron and his crew get rid of my rather large hive, they took the time to answer all of my questions and make sure I understood what they would be doing to my tree to remove the hive. I originally went with Budget Bee because they assured me they would not kill the hive unless absolutely necessary, which I greatly appreciate. Weeks later and... no more bees! I do wish the staff took the entire hive parts, and not just the nucleus as many bees swarmed my garbage can for about 1 week, but there were zero stings for me or my neighbors and this was not a major issue. A couple of weeks ago I noticed some bees flying around a small hole on the outside of my house. I was worried bees might be making a hive inside the wall. I started calling around different bee removal services and let me tell you it was very frustrating trying to find a reliable person to come over. I would make appointments and no one would show up. I ended up calling five different businesses. One finally showed up and quoted me a ridiculous estimate. With that being said I called Ron and I explained my situation and he quoted me a very reasonable estimate and he actually showed. It turns out I had a 20lb hive in the house with over a thousand bees...Yikes! He had to remove the bees from my restroom ceiling because it was difficult getting to them from the outside. He did have to open the ceiling to remove the hive but he patched everything up very neatly and even covered up some other holes on the outside wall so no bees would return. Ron advised that it wasn't yet a hive but was just a "ball of bees" and proceeded to climb a ladder and vacuum the majority of the bees into a shop-vac. I have a bee issue starting up in my backyard. So I started calling a few places. I called this business because they were the closest. I asked for a quote and how the process works. The gentleman told me that I could describe the situation. So I did. From what he gathered and since it was near a water source, he believed it could be just the bees drinking water. I assured him that we've lived here many years and this was not normal behavior for bees near our pool. I pointed out that there was a lot of bee traffic in and out of one place that we have never seen before. He said he would come out but that if he couldn't help me, he would still charge me $75 to come out. Sure that he would see the need and have to take care of our bee situation, I agreed. However, when he got here he made the same assessment. The guy was nice enough. No issue there. He said there was no infestation though, no reason for concern and I still needed to pay the $75....for nothing, basically. Bee activity undisturbed. I'm definitely upset that I had to pay $75 for NO work and NO change in our bee situation...but...I'm actually writing this review because SEVERAL reviews mention that they received FREE inspections/quotes. There is an answered question here on Yelp from the owner that says, "call us for a free inspection" which indicates that the inspections are free and in the Yelp business notes he says "call us for a free estimate". I find it super interesting that I was charged $75 for something several other customers received and has been listed for free. We did receive a receipt, but it still raises concern. I already have another company scheduled to come out tomorrow for a FREE estimate. Customers BEWARE of shady business practices!!! Replying to below response I very clearly stated in my review that you made an assessment over the phone and told me about the $75. Not sure why that is a point of contention. I was clear my post was because of the discrepancy with "free" inspections. I find it interesting that "free" inspections are reserved for "legitimate" infestations. What sense would it make to call if I did not have a bee problem? It may be in its beginning stages, but I was lucky to find it before it gets worse. I've had colonies in my walls before. Now as I understand it, it's only free if the customer has to pay you? That's disappointing. Very subjective, confusing and in my opinion, shady. If someone needs bees removed, they call for an estimate. I've never heard of "free estimates" with a contingency but, thanks for clearing that up? Their technician came for the removal of one wasp nest and, through a diligent check of the whole perimeter of our one-story home, found a total of 14 (2 more active) hidden away in various parts of the roof and overhang.
