Fred is the worst. For years, we had a pretty sweet setup. Easy access to the attic, plenty of room to hang out, and apparently nobody could figure out how we were getting in. Other pest control companies came and went. They inspected. They made recommendations. They quoted thousands of dollars to "fortify" the house. We weren't worried. Then Fred showed up. First, he walked around the house and immediately spotted three openings in the crawlspace vents. He even offered to patch them--but instead told the homeowner to call the electrician who had made the holes in the first place and see if they'd fix them. They did. For free. Annoying. Then Fred climbed into the attic. This is where things really went downhill for us. He found a pipe completely broken at a 90-degree joint and noticed all the grease marks we'd left on the wood underneath it. Apparently Fred had seen this exact thing before and knew what it meant: We were coming up through the sewer. Seriously, Fred? One call to the plumber, the pipe gets fixed, and suddenly our private entrance to the attic is gone. So, from the rats of this household: do not call Fred. He's thorough. He's honest. He doesn't try to sell homeowners a bunch of expensive work they don't need. Fred arrived about same day I discovered I had mice, arriving in less than 4 hours after my initial call. He did an inspection, inside & out, covered all exterior entry points and cleaned up/set-up traps at the inside areas where the droppings were. Caught the first mouse the next day; total of 4 within a week. After each catch, Fred was notified and showed up within several hours to clean up. We had our home sprayed for ants by Fred when we first moved in early 2022 and for two years we had literally no problems. This summer they came back with a vengeance and we tried to handle it ourselves for a bit (spending money on products that in the end didn't work and probably equated to more than the cost of one of Fred's service calls!). In the end we admitted defeat and called in the big guns with Fred and after one quick visit we noticed the ants that had been turning our home into their colony had reduced drastically. Within a day or two we noticed a new color of ants pop up (we have a 1950s home with a lot of holes that were in the progress of plugging!) And because of Fred's 30 day warranty, he came back not once but twice to handle new straggler trails.
